Yum! I stopped by here to grab some donuts for a work event and we had great feedback on these donuts, especially for the ube flavor cake donut. I'll probably be back! I tried some myself too and really liked the donut holes and this spiral style donut. Half way into eating the spiral donut I kept thinking to myself: wow this is the softest donut ever. And shortly realized it was because some of the dough was actually undercooked...Luckily I didn't get sick, and no one else noted that this happened with their donuts. I hope it was just a one-off. Inside, it's not very big and in the morning it was pretty packed. Street parking, in an area that can get pretty busy.

Ever on the hunt for the best apple fritter balanced with eliminating fried foods is such a challenge! . With a dentist appointment around the corner, I'm early and the shop is open so why not? Here for my first visit, the display case had a nice variety of goods still available including a strawberry fritter for next time. Here's the $3.50 apple fritter which is not super heavy as many I have had and I can see the bits of apple. The glaze is just right and not overly thick or sweet and the overall thickness of the fritter is good. A little more cinnamon would be my preference but overall pretty good. Definitely worth a stop when you are downtown and want to support a local business. Lucky me scored a parking spot just across the street. It can require several laps around the block depending on the time of day here and the parking lot is crazy expensive be patient. Enjoy!

Excellent service and food. Specially the donuts! They are delicious and fresh. I will be coming back. If you want a nice donut, please visit.

This is what every donut shop should be. Old school classic flavors and freshness. A lot of varieties. I went 2 days in a row. Let me tell you how fresh these were. You go to pick one up and there is no support. Your fingers sink in to the dough. This is a great thing. They also have some coffee drinks, hot chocolate and some sandwiches. It's a very small shop and a super nice staff.

Don't mind the cruller under the ube donut. Ube was the star ;)

The ube donut was on point. The vibe I get with the ube donut, is not cashing in on the "ube bandwagon". This donut shop did ube justice ;) Made this Filipino grin from ear to ear.

I just got a banana nut cake donut and a caramel macchiato and WOW. The donut tastes like a delicious comforting slice of cake. And I'm impressed with the macchiato! Also, the service was super friendly and welcoming. So 5 stars!! So glad I discovered this joint. I'll be back!!

From a very particular person, these are amazingly fresh every time! I was able to surprise my team with a sweet treat and had many options to fit the preference of each person! The only thing is I don't need the calories! I fight with myself everyday to NOT go, however I rarely win that fight

My friend visited from Singapore and he was on a mission to try all of the best donut places in the East Bay. Happy Donuts was our final stop, a few hours before his 16 hour flight back and I'm glad it was the last! We tried 3 donuts: s'mores, bacon and maple, and a traditional glazed. They were each good but the classic glazed won out for us. Prices were reasonable (gone are the days of $1 donuts but at least they weren't $4 each!) and they had a good selection of vegan donuts, as well as a full espresso and coffee bar. Solid donut spot!

Lots of variety, 6 donuts for about $12

Top drawer Americano and delicious donuts! After I dropped off my son to go to his tech conference I drove all around uptown Oakland searching for any spot I could buy a cuppa Joe. Nothing was open anywhere until I spied this little railroad retail space. They let me onto their Wi-Fi (don't get me started on this bungled T-Mobile iPhone set up) which they normally don't give out and boxed up my donuts with a smile. Regulars began pouring in, I was soon on my way.

Donuts!

Happy Donuts makes myself and my coworkers, well Happy. I've passed by Happy Donuts a few times and noticed that there is always somebody here. After a sleepless night, I woke up early and decided to get a nice treat for everybody at work. I opted for 18 donuts and an abundance of donut holes for my colleagues. The employee at the counter was extremely nice. I asked for her to select the donuts, herself, based on what she would recommend. The thing I like about this place are all the neat colors for the various donuts. Makes it look all the more appealing. Other than the 'thank you for getting donuts', I also got compliments on how fluffy the donuts were. At the end of the day, there were only 2 left, which is unusual because folks here usually have pretty good control. Way to go Happy Donuts.

I think it might've been a bit undercooked... I don't think I would try another one unfortunately. I think I would also stick with the sweet bakery items moving forward. I also ordered a lychee strawberry matcha milk tea (with the oat milk option) and I was pretty happy with that purchase. Overall, I wouldn't dock them more than a star for the underwhelming pastry because most of the others are excellent. It might just be that savory isn't their thing...

Just an FYI…read moreI'm a vegetarian and I'm in the process of cutting out all animal products, therefore, I'm trying out vegan spots and cook a lot of vegan food. I also ended up taking my sister so she could see what vegan food is about. 1. My sister had the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was an absolute texture nightmare, the coconut rice was gross and mushy, the tofu was completely bland, the random spicy curry sauce was unblended & completely overpowered everything. Just really one of the worst burritos I've had in my life. She couldn't get past two bites before throwing it out. I also bit it, and I agree with everything my sister said. 2. I got the tempeh reuben sandwich and it was equally bad with bland soggy fries. It was edible and I finished half of the sandwich with a ton of hot sauce but I threw out the other half. I legitimately could not finish it. I think king oyster mushrooms would be a better substitute for the "bacon". 3. The donuts are AMAZING & deserve to stand alone. The lemon one was absolutely incredible. If I would've only purchased the donuts I would've given Donut farm 5 stars. There's a price range from $3.00, $3.50, $4.00, and $4.50. I think they're reasonable prices for how good they were. The only one that was okay was the chocolate coconut. In conclusion, the food needs a lot of work. I know this is a small business, but please taste the food that comes out . The sandwich was $18 and the burrito was $16. I never complain about the prices from small business owners because I love to support but it was expensive for the quality of food I received. The service was also okay, it felt like everyone was stressed lol, I'm not complaining bc I know we all have our days but this was my first time at Donut Farm and I wish my experience would've been more pleasant so I'd be willing to give it another chance.

We went on a Friday morning (keep in mind they are closed Monday through Wednesday, so plan accordingly when you want to go buy these pies), and while the lines were a bit long, the line wasn't too bad, and they went rather quick. Me and my friend got the banana cream pie, and the key lime pie. I love how tart the pies were -- the banana cream was so layered, made with actual banana and it was topped with another layer of cream and chocolate covering. All in all, $7 a slice for a piece of pie is not bad at all, especially if they were made by food artisans who knew their craft. Ambiance is rather good, and not underwhelming at all. Yes, it's all vegan and yes, they've got all your sweet cravings covered. The classics are present of course, simple glazed and sprinkled little numbers that live up to the highest standards of childhood nostalgia, to more inventive flavors like matcha, blueberry, maple "bacon," or cookies and cream. Don't get me started on the apple fritters, which are the size of a dinner plate and loaded with soft, spiced apple chunks. It's hard to restrain yourself from ordering one of everything, especially because they really are cheaper by the dozen. Besides, when was the last time you had a bear claw? Or a maple bar? Or a Boston cream doughnut? Further complicating the final order is the incredibly kind owner, always at the counter, who's liable to throw in a free doughnut hole or two to reward such enthusiasm. Though it's impossible to resist the colorful magnetism of the front display, don't gloss over the other half of the shop's name. Soy-based gelato is made in house with rotating seasonal flavors, offered by the scoop or wedged into an outrageous doughnut sandwich assembly. I can only speak for the eggnog flavor which is of course long gone at this point, but I truly hope it makes an early come back. The flawlessly smooth, creamy texture is better than almost all prepacked options scooped out of a carton, and possibly one of the best in the bay. It may get overshadowed by the deep fried delights, but you won't regret topping off your treats with an extra frozen spoonful... Well, unless you've already eaten your weight in cinnamon twists. Not that I'd know anything about that.

Everything is vegan. First, the servings are big. And at these prices! And it's not just big but delish. Second, it's good food. Banh mi bread had a crisp crust and a satisfying chew. The fillings were generous, and flavors were well balanced. The pickles had a nice crunch, and the "meaty" parts were savory goodness. Would def get again. The summer rolls come 2 per order; using a bit of lettuce of separate them was a nice touch. Slightly preferred the savory "fish sauce" especially after I soaked the jalapeños in it. The peanut sauce was a little sweet for me so prolly would have enjoyed more with some chili sauce. The shredded pork was a fun, slightly bouncy texture. Also bought a lemongrass beef banh mi but didn't have room, so looking forward ti lunch tomorrow.
