I don't understand how this place has such a high rating...Everything was completely unseasoned. The duck egg roll had no flavor and was so greasy it left a pool of oil on the plate. The chicken fried rice wasn't actually fried; it was just bland steamed rice with no egg and raw vegetables tossed in. Because the onions were uncooked, the rice container literally smelled like an armpit. The chicken in the "fried rice" was just unseasoned boiled chicken. We appreciate that Happi China was open for lunch on Christmas. The interior looks so much like most of the other Chinese restaurants in our area. It's the same menu in all of them & the same food pictures on the walls. I ordered the lunch combo composed of Szechuan Shrimp, fried rice, & an egg roll, for $8.50. The egg roll was nothing special. The Szechuan Shrimp was fresh, & full of crisp veggies. There were however just 4 shrimp in the meal, which seemed a little low. Boring...Who ever thought this was good Asian food has NEVER eaten anything remotely close to good Asian food. I found a hair in my food which didn't help...we had a noodle dish, a curry dish and a shrimp and chicken dish together with a egg roll. All of it lacked any real taste...cheap Chinese food. First visit to Happy China yesterday. After reading the reviews that were excellent was disappointed. Food was just mediocre courtyard at a mall tasting. I asked for extra spicy and was bland chicken curry. My husband got mild chicken curry and his had even less flavor. The egg rolls were good and the crab Rangoon had very little anything inside. It's close and would do in a pinch. Prices are excellent. I ordered quart size for $4.25 and was plenty of food especially with appetizers I still have 1/2 of it left. read more

My sister went to Happi China and told me it was "the best Chinese she had, had in a while". I LOVE Chinese food, and am not easily impressed. Skeptical I went and was surprised to see the menu had some unique items not found on every Chinese take-out menu. General Tso Chicken is my go to meal and Happi China makes probably the best General Tso I have had in Palm Harbor. I also tried their cheesesteak eggroll which has ground beef, cheese and onions in a spring roll type wrapper and it was good! The restaurant itself was clean, and had very friendly staff. On a wild search to find a go to Chinese spot, vaguely remembered I had come here once so here I was. I relied on the few reviews to pick a dish for me and selected the Singapore Chow Mei Fun as I love rice noodles. I scored the Moo Shu Pork for D, and ordered Steamed Dumplings to sample. I have to say this is less than a mile from my house so it weighed heavily on the choice. So, I dig in and was blown away by the Singapore dish, nicely spiced up, with a wonderfully floavored sauce! The dumplings were fat and filled. Tho Moo Shu was nailed perfectly! I dined on these dishes ( the dumplings disappeared at first serving) for several days and the taste just got better! I can't wait to go back and try more of the specialties offered at reasonable prices. I think I've found my go-to Chinese! read more

First time trying this place tonight. Ordered take-out and food was fast and hot. The lady on the phone m, and ladies in the front were friendly and helpful. I have a gluten restriction (recently diagnosed) and have been trying to figure out foods I can still eat. I learned that sesame chicken is made with corn starch not flour, so chinese was on menu! I called Happy China and they confirmed the corn starch and even guided me away from foods due to sauces containing gluten. I ordered three combo meals (meat, rice, veggie, and an egg roll) which were a great value. Upon picking up the order the lady in front even reminded me not to eat the egg rolls because of my restriction. Food was good, tasty, and large portions. This is our neighborhood Chinese place and we've been going here for years. I've never checked in because it is a takeout place and I rarely have to wait around long enough to have time to check in. The best thing about this place is that the owner always knows it is us and when I arrive to pick up our order I don't even have to tell her which one is ours. Not like we get the same thing every time, but we do have our favorites. Also, she always puts an extra container of chili oil in the bag for me because I like my food "extra spicy." The food is always good, I have never had a bad thing here. I tend to order the Singapore Chow Mei Fun noodles, or Szechaun chicken or shrimp. My husband gets sweet and sour pork or chicken chow mein (no onions no carrots.) I think my extra spicy, combined with his order gives away who we are. Anyway, if you live up in the Palm Harbor/Dunedin area this is the place to go for your takeout. read more

My husband loves loves loves Chinese food (me not so much). We have tried a handful of places within this past year since moving to Palm Harbor and once we found Happy China we only order from them now. We have had their sweet and four chicken, General tso, chicken fried rice, beef lomein , egg rolls, and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons are so good.
