My wife and I loved CSC. Came here all the time. We went today and the menu has changed. They eliminated the salads and the egg salad! My wife is a vegetarian, and she would get the salad with an egg salad scoop. Now there is nothing there for her anymore, so we won't be coming back. Finally got around to stopping in here after hearing such good things about it for so long! First impressions, the interior is super adorable and welcoming, especially decorated for Christmas. We were greeted before we got to the counter by a woman offering samples of all the different chicken salads which we thought was fantastic since we'd never been in before. I sampled a few and decided on the buffalo chicken option. I got the chicken on a melt and it was so yummy and light. The croissant was flaky and fell apart in the mouth. I opted for Mac & cheese as my side but my husband got fresh fruit and we split both. LOVED the fresh fruit option as it's such a contrast to the warm sandwich and the fruit given was cold and fresh. Also think it's super cute that they give sugar cookies on the side for free! This is such a nice little treat when you're done with your meal and it was also excellent. We've been coming here at least once a month or more since they opened in Palm Harbor. Last night (11/17/22), their Chicken Salad Chick with soup was the medicine we needed for nasty colds. Husband loves the barbecue scoop and Fruity Fran is my favorite. The chicken tortilla soup was good and comforting. This time we asked for celery instead of crackers. We thought it might be more healthy! The staff is always friendly and efficient. The young woman who took our order also offered us the GIVING CARD - $5 to help fight childhood cancer and feed the hungry while giving us the opportunity to get a special deal every month in 2023. It was like 1/8 - 1/4" spread of chicken salad like it was a condiment or something. If this was an 80's Wendy's commercial I would be saying "where's the beef?" Stop being so cheap! This is a multi-visit review so let's delve into this chaos of miscommunication. I first came here a few months ago bc why not. I had ordered the classic carol bc apparently the only way is the $7.99 menu item with a side or additional scoop or soup. So I got the carol with the soup and I sat down and waited, and waited. And waited. Then when I'm starting to value a 1-star review the mgr apologizes after seeing me without food for 30 minutes and reports that my order was lost. That's great. How do you lose a ticket? You made me wait for an order where you literally scoop a ball of chicken salad onto a tray and put on crackers a pickle and a cookie, which could take a minute to perform by inebriated simian miscreants..... So after I finally got my meal the mgr came and gave me a card for a free scoop on them. I assumed that this card was for the meal item because nowhere on the menu is just for a scoop/sandwich. But here I am presenting my voucher and electing for an additional scoop choice instead of the soup or side item. Bc the only item for chicken salad is listed as a meal, not some unlisted scoop-only option. Well the high school girl doesn't know how to key in the card and is directed by the back to use some unlisted menu item for just-scoop. So she enters that and enters an additional scoop and I'm hit by $5.99+. Now I'm sitting with two trays of scoops and 8 crackers and two pickles, not the assumed scoop meal with an additional scoop for $2. So, bad communication (even though tickets are printed so what up with that) and an omission of a crucial menu item at voucher redemption. Yeah, this place is probably on my never-again list. C'mon people! At least their premade off-site cookies are soft and sugary. I enjoyed Chicken Salad Chick so much that I went back for lunch the very next day after my initial visit. Upon making my way to the counter I was greeted by a woman who could probably tell I was struggling to decide. Lucky for me, she pulled me to the side where she had a sample station set up. I was very grateful for this because at first I was enticed by the Caribbean Jerk chicken salad but it really had a spicy aftertaste. I'm all about spice for flavor but not spice for heat. I feel like sometimes with jerk spices you can get a variation of heat so for me it's best to always try when possible. I ended up going with the Diva in a sandwich (didn't notice many cucumbers though) with a side of a scoop of Fancy Nancy. Personally, I feel like the scoop as a side is the best choice since it's more meat. Also, I was able to just eat the sandwich and save the scoop for a snack later. The following day I ordered a similar setup with a sandwich of Lauryn's Lemon Basil and a scoop of Fruity Fran. This time I went through the drive through and service was much faster. The pick up window is a little strange though, it just seems like the building wasn't really built for a drive through but they found a way to make it work. All four of the varieties I tried were delicious! I like getting the more fruity ones as a scoop because as a snack with crackers I can appreciate those flavors more. Sometimes bread masks the little fruity delights. On another note, if you are looking for a place to go with your girlfriends and dish then this is the spot. The place is more marketed towards women and when I was inside, the only men were either employees or accompanied by women. I get it, but I wish the other half knew the joy too.
