Their chicken salad is really good and all the fresh fruit it came with was perfectly ripe (even the cantaloupe & honeydew which almost never happens) And if you like New England style clam chowder, theirs is delicious. The food came out shorty so I got started. The fries were crispy and just needed some salt and pepper vinegar would have been great but my waitress was being run ragged. She was really nice. The clientele was mostly older and the cost was $14. The Coleslaw was basic but okay for the price. You get 2 pieces of fish and that lets you judge how much you can eat. The place is a diner where you can get breakfast and lunch that stays open late on Fridays for the fish dinner. There is a lot is conversation but not overly loud. Basically it is what it is. Third time visiting the palm harbor location, so the food is decent and it's conveniently located near family. Today, we arrive 2 mins before our family. We requested to sit in the only available booth (we're booth people). The Mgr was also hosting and said since it's for a party of four, we can't seat you until all four are here. I said, I know what they want to eat so we can place there order...we will not hold up service. The Mgr refused to seat us, pulled the people behind us up to the front of line, and sat them at the booth we requested. We both got loud. She said, you want to take this outside?! (I'm a non confrontational person...well dressed, speak decent, a business owner...I was shocked!). Being shocked, I said, yes let's go lol She got us outside then locked the door!!!! Lol I couldn't believe the actions of a manager. We truly only requested the booth and stated we could place the entire parties order but we must've looked cross eyes at her or something...maybe she didn't take her meds but we will never ever return to the palm harbor location. The three servers gathered around the checkout area...looked like they would be beat if they said a word to us. One rolled her eyes at the action of the Mgr. Hey Mr/Mrs Owner: you've got a real prob with the Mgr at your Palm Harbor location. And to the Manager: We are they very people that always over tip (bless) our servers. Flap-Jacks was a pretty good restaurant for homestyle breakfast. I ordered the Mexican omelette with home fries and a side of biscuits and gravy. The Mexican omelette was delicious, but the biscuits and gravy were not very good. The service wasn't great but I'm not taking off the additional star I usually would for that because the set up here is a little chaotic. The restaurant has the feel of a Homestyle type restaurant, where you take your ticket up to the register. But the setup with the waitresses is that they have to each ring their own tickets at one register, which causes some chaos and waiting at the front. That stress and chaos is equating to short tempers with fellow employees and forgotten requests on orders. My waitress forgot a few things on my order, nothing too crucial, but something that I wanted and didn't get. If a manager or owner is reading this, I really think you need to have a register person at the front ringing tickets and let the waitresses do their job and waitress. It was clear that your waitresses are under a lot of pressure at the front with picking up orders and waiting in line at that one register to ring up their customers. A register person that's not a waitress sitting there ringing up people would alleviate stress on your waitresses and make your customers happier. read more
