Wow!! How am I just now trying this place?? I got a three piece chicken combo and it was the best chicken I've had around here. I got mash potatoes on the side, and they were so creamy and good. The employees were all super friendly and helpful, and gave me some good recommendations. My wife had the Caesar salad sandwich and loved it. Food is on point. I always make a sandwich with the pita bread. Honey butter, chicken, mashed potatoes, and baked beans. Best sandwich ever. The butter adds the perfect bit of sweetness! This is my second review of this restaurant and it doesn't improve the rating at all. What business nowadays that doesn't accept debit or credit cards? Well this one does not. They have an ATM option inside with a ridiculous extra charge to use the machine. The ambience is horrible where they dirty green carpet and cafeteria type orange benches. They have a TV turn on in the corner to some no-name movie with no sound. There are rarely no more than one or two customers at anytime and I've never seen this place busy. The chicken salad is why I go back and it is no reason for customer service for sure. There is no drive-through which is another negative. I was just at YaYa's in Clearwater and watched the guy behind the counter stop what he was doing and fill up "dirty" cups from 3 previous customers that wanted refills. This is not sanitary. Then he continued making food orders and taking money at the same time, not one time did he sanitize his hands and kept wiping them on his apron. He then took out pita bread from underneath the counter to put some on the grill and did not use tongs, he used his dirty hands that were not sanitized. I politely told him that I didn't want any bread and needless to say, I don't think I'm going to return to this YaYa. It's close to my job so I go there. The guy is never very friendly and the girl never says thank you, hi, nothing. The food is always good but not sanitizing is a deal breaker for me, especially around food. read more

This YaYa's is very outdated. Does not offer half of what the YaYa's in St Pete does and does not accept debit/credit cards! You must use their "atm", pay an additional fee of $1.50, however, no money is dispensed to you, it goes to YaYa's. So it's not really a ATM? Not sure. Its so sad to see such a great company lacking. Food is decent at best, that's being gracious. It doesn't seem very cleanly and it's not an experience I'll ever repeat. I have been going to YaYA's for years, and historically I love the Chicken...but this place has really gone down hill. Inside the restaurant just blows, I think it's time for a serious renovation and/or cleaning. The dude that runs the place is a complete and utter asshole, he may even be the owner. I feel like I'm ordering from the soup-nazi from a re-run of Seinfeld. Treats all customers and his employee's like total shit. For some reason I have been going back for like 15 years regardless of what a dick the guy is to people, so I guess the chicken is pretty good, lol. In the past year, I must say he food has kinda gone down in quality, its not as juicy and flavorful. Cheaper ingredients, Pepsi products, etc. Seems very dry and bland these days. Finally, it's the year 2020 and you only accept cash or the stupid rip-off ATM you have on the counter. I've driven by Ya-Ya's so many times and finally stopped by to grab lunch to go. I was surprised when I walked into the establishment. The decor definitely hasn't been changed since the 80s and thank goodness that just LOOKS like carpet on the floor and really isn't. They don't take credit or debit and will direct you to an ATM at the front of the store if needed. Food was just OK. Service was fast- they pulled a white meat chicken piece right off the grill and bagged it with pre-prepped containers of my two sides of choice. Don't go for the mixed veggies- super bland and not fresh. Potato salad was just OK. That honey butter and pita though. My lord, it was divine. All in all, there are some places that can do the "we haven't changed since the 80s". Orlandoians (and anyone traveling to Orlando), think Beefy King. But Ya-Ya's is no Beefy King and their food is just so-so. I'd come back in a pinch, but wouldn't go out of my way. read more

There was a YaYas in my college town of Ypsilanti, Michigan and I was super excited to have one here in Clearwater, Florida when I moved down ten years ago. My husband recently went and got a take out chicken salad for me. I ate a good portion of it before I found a metal hook in it!!!! I don't even know what it was technically. I immediately emailed them through their website. I didn't waste my time going back up to the store. I didn't ask for my money back. I didn't threaten lawsuit. I truly do not know how this place is open. Walking in, it has the same decor and fixtures from the 80's. Ordered food, paid for food (in cash because the don't take cards in 2016). The guy behind the counter took my cash and then proceeded to prepare my food, with out washing his hands. The sides consisted of canned baked beans, and bagged salad. The chicken was completely dry. For the price and flavor of the chicken you can't beat YaYa's. The chicken is flame broiled and always has that just off the grill taste. We went there today and both my husband and I got the 1/2 chicken combo. This comes with 1/2 a chicken breast, mashed potatoes which are amazing and a side salad and pita bread. I suggest getting the yaya's white sauce to dip the chicken in. You get all this for 10.00, you can't beat that. This place is cash only. The building is old and not that clean to dine in so I would get it to go. If you are in the area definitely worth trying. read more
