We had a wonderful experience yesterday at the Jasons deli in Clearwater. Stopped in with my family for lunch and it wasn't too busy inside we were able to order right away. I want to thank Edie for her patience and kindness and helping me customize our orders. Everything came out perfectly! Also, I was really surprised by their salad bar it was very clean and organized And they kept all the food well maintained. The only thing that wasn't our liking was the kids meals the cheese pizza was very doughy and the kids tenders breading wasn't very crispy. I absolutely love visiting Jason's deli for the salad bar and chicken pot pie soup. One of the only good salad bar places left. The service is usually quick and the soup always hits the spot. Not to mention the free soft serve with food purchase. The restaurant has so much seating and staff is always super friendly. The sourdough bread had no taste as well so I don't know what kind of sourdough bread they're using. Haven't been to this place in ages but it's been around for a long time. We felt like a sandwich and I felt like some chili or soup so off we went. My husband got the roast beef au jus sandwich and I got the chili with cheese on top. Honestly the chili tasted more like store-bought Hormel a little disappointing. Hubby said his sandwich was good but a little dry and has had much better elsewhere. Decor more like cafeteria style. Just not our thing I guess. Glad we have it a try. read more

Today was my 2nd bad experience with this establishment. Today, our food was 37 minutes late. When I called, I was told they were waiting on a Doordash driver. Food arrived & we were missing 2 items. I again called, and asked for the items to be delivered and was told the driver must have missed them... Ummmm, NO, the driver did not bag up the food and staple the bags... We were mysteriously disconnected. I called again and spoke to Jason, and again was lied to. Was told the items and delivery fee would be refunded. Was in town and we don't have a Jason's Deli any more. I miss their salad and 1/2 sandwich combo. Prices are getting up there but who's isnt. The sandwich was ok. Think they called it the beefeater. Made pick up on Saturday, May 3rd around 7 pm, and female employee with no name tag (said her name is Shay?) and major attitude when told that item is missing from the pickup bag. Stopped in for lunch and I must say the food was terrible! My wife and I both got a half sandwich with a cup of soup. She got pastrami (very dry and burnt) I got a corned beef and it was actually ham. I mentioned it and they said no, that's corned beef. Ok. The soups were ok, but I would guess they were canned. The total with one drink was $36.00. No way it was worth that. So no more Jason's for us. This is the first time I have left a negative review. We ordered 2 managers specials which consists of a half sandwich, a cup of soup & a side. For one sandwich we chose a smoky jack panini. The other was a ham & salami muffuletta. Both soups were chili. The sides we chose were chips & salsa & Mac n cheese. Neither of the sides were included. The chili had a green tint to it. I could not even finish it. It was like puréed manwich & not at all appetizing. The muffuletta was burnt & lacked meat. I'm adding pics... don't take my word for it.... The photos speak for themselves. Jason's Deli is a great traditional Deli with all the deli things you would expect. Nice salads, sandwiches, and soups. Recently I ordered for curbside and at first it was very impressive -- easy to order, and they had a separate app for checking-in and tracking the pick-up. But then when I got there I waited for 10 minutes after the appointed pick-up time and no one ever came out. I finally had to go in and my order was sitting there but no one was focused on getting it out. So... 5-stars on the food, but the curbside pick-up was not so good. You should NOT have to salt corned beef & pastrami. Sadly the picture was better than the sandwich. Plenty of meat but no taste. Had to salt & even peppered & still not that corned beef or pastrami flavor. The rye bread did not have a rye flavor at all. Jason's was a favorite of ours where we moved from. This was the only sandwich I've eaten & have had plenty of them. Very disappointed. Hubby's french dip had to be salt & peppered also. My office ordered lunch from here for a meeting. I chose a salad. It was good; it had walnuts, romaine lettuce, cranberries, broccoli, carrots, and balsamic vinegar dressing with a bag of chips on the side. I liked everything, My only complaint was the carrots werent cut, it was the baby carrots whole and the broccoli was super bland and raw, just not my favorite way to eat it but it was healthy so I did anyway. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to even a raccoon. I've been here 2 times in the past month and hoping my recent visit would be better than my last. For one, this specific employee was horrible. She had 0 customer service skills, and talks to you about her whole life story including her pregnancy. I was just trying to order food and she continues to talk about herself and show me photos of things i don't want to see. My food was brought to the wrong table and i waited 30 mins and nothing. Had to get up and find someone to get me my food. When I got my food, it was cold and no where near up to par. I will not be coming back until management figures out how to hire decent people. My Jason's Deli experience yesterday was ehh, ok I guess. If I was solely basing my experience on customer service and portion sizes, this probably would have been 4 stars. Customer service was pretty good. The cashier was courteous and was patient with us as we browsed the menu and tried to make our choices. The server was also good about bringing out the food quickly and clearing away the plates quickly. Portion sizes, Jason's Deli gives way more food than most other places, say like a Panera. When I got the Quarter Muffaletta Special with a cup of soup, I was expecting just a soup and the sandwich. But the quarter sandwich was actually a pretty hefty size, well stuffed with meat, cheese, and olive salad topping; as well as a huge portion of potato chips. It caught me off guard, but in a good way. But what made this only 3 star worthy? Well, like several previous reviews before mine, this place just has a very off-putting smell. Indeed it does smell like either dirty mop water was used to mop the restaurant or dirty dish rags were used to wipe the tables. Whatever it is, it just made for an unpleasant dining experience. The bathroom too was not maintained very well. Everything was just so wet, the floors were rather nasty, and the soap dispenser was just laying sideways on the bathroom counter; definitely not a good look for bathroom cleanliness or hygiene purposes. Finally, I don't know why, but everything tasted so salty. The seafood gumbo was super salty, the olive salad in my sandwich was super salty, and the chips were super salty. Maybe this is just a one time issue, but the food was definitely over-salted this time around. So, someone please take care of cleanliness and restaurant maintenance issues. Once these are taken care of, the dining in experience will be that much more enjoyable. read more

Stopped in before going to the Fresh Market for food shopping. The place wasn't terribly busy, so I got myself the muffaletta and soup, both of which were quite tasty. You get yourself 1/4 of a sandwich, and while that doesn't sound like a lot, it's quite sufficient. The soup was Irish Potato but it was over shadowed by the smoky bacon flavor. Haven't been disappointed yet, even when there's been a snafu. One afternoon my family and I went for lunch; my sister tasted something that didn't sit quite right with her. We told the manager, Nathan, and he handled it perfectly. On top of that, he was handling a few unnecessary complaints from other customers, and each time he was polite, charming, handled it with such grace and solved everyone's problems - including my sister's. We all had a positive experience; the food was good quality and filling, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable - especially Nathan. The food is good, but breakfast service is pathetic. Every time I've ordered breakfast it's been late. Paid for an order today at 8:34. Website showed pickup time of 8:44. I got there at 8:57. Doors locked. Had to knock on glass with car key. No order. Told by manager the order was being started. Had to wait until 9:04 for the order. The manager seemed not to care in the least. I ordered via uber eats and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. The Mac and cheese sides are only half filled and it tastes literally just like Kraft Mac and cheese. The lemon poppyseed muffins were so stale and they ran out of them and substituted more gingerbread muffins which are stale too but not as hard as the lemon ones. The croissant bread on both sandwiches is hard, not soft and buttery as the picture shows, and it scraped the roof of my mouth and I'm hurting now. The tuna and chicken salad themselves are okay, not as good as I remember them being. I called and was told that the croissants are toasted, they ran out of the muffins and yes they are old and I asked about the lack of pickles (they are the best pickles ever!!) and was told that they are out of them and not expected to get them until next Thursday. Today is Monday so 1 1/2 weeks. The gentleman who answered was very nice and unfortunately he couldn't do anything but uber eats made it right. Feedback is if you don't have the quality of food, it's better not to give any of it to the customer and replace it with a gift card for the value. I also wish I had known about the pickles and there are no updates on the website. Overall, I am definitely disappointed in the decline of the food quality and portion size. It used to be epic, great portions and the quality of the food was fresh, really yummy!!
