Cute location that I've passed and seen all the good reviews for. I wanted to love it but didn't. We split the Philly which isn't one for starters. No peppers, more mushrooms than meet and very wet. Cheese could've been spread better and the bread it was on was very good. I also enjoyed the zucchini side they give. Chips come as a side and I'd like to try another sandwich because another order at a different table looked great. Super cute atmosphere and very cozy dining area. Our server was sweet and quick

Cream of Potato soup was pretty darn tasty

The food was good, but not great. Saying it is ok wouldn't be right either. If I lived nearby I could see getting it take away sometimes. Our biggest hang up on this place were the dirty blinds in front of us at the window bar and the smallness of the dining room. It's really small. Like we know WAY too much about a local mom because 3 other local moms were dishing hard on her!! They weren't loud talkers by any means, the place is just too small to talk without everyone else in the dining room hearing your conversation. Get your food to go and don't run your mouth about your "friends" if you're all local.

Quaint little shop that has indoor and outdoor seating. I've been here a few times and love the consistency of quality! I ordered the bacon jam club which is a favorite of mine, simple but hits the spot every time. I'm not sure if they bake their bread in house but the brioche is perfectly sweet and really completes the sandwich. I love that they have a huge selection of craft sodas and local beers. It's a pretty good value (most of the sandwiches range $10-12 plus a side). With summer coming up I definitely will be popping by more to try other sandwiches with a nice side of potato salad.

Visiting Safety Harbor for the 1st time. Looking at Yelp I saw that "The Sandwich on Main" was #1 on the list for lunch. Well deserved to the "nth degree" It was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Sat outside on a beautiful day. Not a lot of space for big parties but perfect for my wife and I. Menu was quite extensive and the top 2 items are what we ordered...the Turkey sandwich and the Cuban. They were EXTREMELY delicious. They make their own pulled pork and own brioche. Bottom line...WONDERFUL ! Service was excellent! Kara was SUPER, SUPER NICE! The sandwiches we wanted...low and behold were their best sellers. Bottom line...GO HERE!!!

My husband eats here weekly. I had not been. We went for lunch on a Sunday. I was craving a Reuben sandwich. He says they have the best. We sat outside on the sidewalk. In the shade thankfully. We ordered the chips, a beer and a root beer. We each had the Crazy Swayze. We ordered it toasted but when it came we couldn't tell by looking at it. I think the toasting was rushed. The sandwich was not "melted " together as it should be according to my husband. It was good! But I know it could be better and he agreed. We had very friendly kind service from a tall gentleman. I don't know his name. I took a while and he thanked us for our patience. I look forward to going back to try other sandwiches! But maybe during the week.

The Main Beef Sandwich

It seems so rare these days for a place to stand out with an excellent & unique product. The Sandwich on Main came roaring through. I ordered the "Main Beef" sandwich. When it arrived I was quite taken by the thick & yellow & tasty bread. I tried to figure out what was on it, guessing turmeric & butter, but I truly have no idea. It was a standout for sure. The sandwich contained lean, tasty, roast beef & melted cheddar cheese. On it was thin sliced red onion. The element though that excited my palette most though was the sauce on the sandwich. I could discern thousand island dressing as the base with some fun spice kicking it up several notches. This is the place to go for sandwiches reimagined.

Lunch after a long drive into Tampa Bay

When we drove into Tampa, we were tired and hungry from the road and since we are staying at my brothers house for a night we decided to take a walk over and grab soup and sandwiches. My brother lives only two blocks away from downtown Safety Harbor. So, a little history...when we lived in countryside (Clearwater) we used to come to Safety Harbor and frequent Crispers. Yes, a chain but a damn good one. The soups (and sandwiches) were amazing and I used to get an extra pint of tomato bisque (served with wonderful croutons and asiago cheese) because it was so so good. Crispers used to be where bar fly is now. Huge mistake IMO. I still need to check out barfly now that they've taken over that huge spot. Bar Fly back when then was just okay, but cute. (I was disappointed by my lobster roll I ordered for lunch, but I loved everything else about Bar Fly). That's how I feel about The Sandwich on Main. The Sandwiches are great. Good meat and nice choices. Yet, the soups are nothing to write home about unfortunately. I expect a mom and pop to have better soup than a chain...I love a soup and sandwich combo. The soups are fine at Sandwich on Main if you need a warm soup that isn't super savory. You can tell they are using good ingredients but I found them to be a little bland. The tomato bisque tasted more like a vegetable soup and the Turkey chili had no seasoning. No excuses for Turkey chili...I make Turkey meat dishes all the time and it's not hard to add flavor to Turkey. With this being said I still recommend Sandwich on Main...I'm just hard on soup! Again, our sandwiches were great. The meat, cheeses and even the sauce wasn't bad...it had horseradish in it (which I had on the side as I'm a sandwich purest (I don't like mayo based anything because it takes away from the sandwich ingredients IMO) and the sandwich ingredients were on point without sauce. I got the Main Beef which is a roast beef on toasted cheese bread. The prefect crunch with the perfect bread. HubbyStanks got the Strange World Reuben. He kept the sauce on but I love a Reuben on rye! It was good. What was also great was the customer service! When we walked in we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome by the man behind the counter/grill. Our server was sweet as pie! She even threw in a sample sweet treat when we were done with lunch! The shop is adorable and fits right in with Safety Harbor's charm. I recommend snagging a seat outside on a good day. So I'll definitely will be walking back over for sandwiches when visiting my brother, but I'll try salad with my sandwich or get a whole sandwich on my next visit!

If you're in the mood for delicious hot and cold deli sandwiches, yummy soups on charming Main Street in Safety Harbor, then this is the place for you. I've been several times and it's consistently very good quality. Everything is made fresh-made to order Nice locally owned small business. Often times one of the owners takes your order. This visit I tried the smokestack which was perfectly thin smoked turkey stacked high. I love that you could really taste the smoke. It was served on grilled House made cheddar bread. Add applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and sauce and you have a fantastic sandwich. My husband had the Rueben and said it was excellent. He also tried the tomato and basil soup which was light with chunky tomatoes and lots of basil. Very tasty! I like the healthy side of fresh zucchini dressed in balsamic to help balance out the decadent sandwich. They have a. Eclectic selection of unique bottled drinks/sodas and interesting chip flavors. If you're in the area and hungry for a great sandwich, stop in and tell them I said hi #Eatlocal

This is a hearty sandwich!! Amazing sandwiches with quality bread and ingredients. The staff is super friendly and very well run. You can get it to go or dine in. The seating is limited inside but if you dine in, the decorations are quirky and cool. Highly recommend this place.

Chipotle chicken sandwich (to-go)

This place always showed up on my Yelp when looking for restaurants, and I finally decided to try it. I am so sad it has taken me this long to try it!! We ordered to-go at the counter. The place is cute inside, and the staff was really friendly. The food: Chipotle chicken sandwich: 5/5, sooo good! The sandwich was filled with meat, and their homemade cheddar bread was perfect for this sandwich. It was warm and toasted, so it was perfect for the windy day. Caprese sandwich: 5/5, such a great vegetarian option. The cheese pull was amazing! The pesto was fresh and tasty, and the bread was toasted. Great sandwich! I will be back! Highly recommend

I'm not normally a sandwich person but decided to try this place while working at Safety Harbor. It's a messy sandwich but it was filling and quite tasty! Can't go wrong with bacon! The gentlemen that helped us were super nice the restaurant itself is very quirky! Must try for sandwich lovers!

$13.95 Cuban
Trent N.

I tried a $10.95 Reuben and a $13.95 Cuban. The reuben was really gooey, but in a good way. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of pastrami meat. And the sandwich is kind of small. The Cuban was better than the Reuben, but it's not better than the Cuban you can get at Bodega in St. Pete. Super small shop with some seating outside.

Cramped and really slow. Sandwiches are good but probably not worth a 30-60 minute wait.

From the moment I saw the seafood case, everything looked ridiculously fresh, and that freshness carried straight onto the plate. The Tides is both a seafood market and restaurant, so you're surrounded by beautiful seafood and ingredients that actually look like they belong there. Then I noticed the MICHELIN plaque outside the building and thought, wait a minute... THIS place has Michelin recognition? Apparently, yes! The Tides has earned a place in the MICHELIN Guide, which suddenly made a whole lot of sense after tasting the food. That salmon was seriously some of the best I've ever had. Fresh, beautifully prepared and so clean tasting that it didn't need a bunch of heavy sauces or nonsense piled on top. It felt like one of those rare meals that is indulgent because it's delicious, but you also walk away thinking, I actually ate something good for me. The Tides was a genuine surprise, and now I'm wondering how many other little gems I've been driving right past without knowing they were there.

This was my 2nd time to the Tides to give them a 2nd chance since they became Michelin recommended…read more I still dont see the hype. Their seafood is just good but not mind blowing. The fried shrimp basket was good but the fish and chips really didnt have any taste to the cod. The slaw and potatoes were good but their food reminds me of the tourist trap seefood restaurants by the beach. Chefs should start tasting their own food to know if it tastes good or not or maybe they were raised in a bland household but someone needs to understand taste and seasoning.
