The bread was slightly crispy but fresh and hot, the entrees me and my friend got were the branzino and quattro formaggi with shrimp and they were so good you cant leave and not think about them and the portions were big enough to take some home as well. Atmosphere - The restaurant has an upscale, urban feel with a nice size bar that is separate from the dining area. The dining area is not large and tables are somewhat tightly grouped. Service - Disappointing. initially, our server was very friendly and attentive. However, as the restaurant became more busy, we became an afterthought. Food - Good. we had the spinach arancini as our appetizer and it was very good. It was lightly breaded, lightly fried and tasted great. I ordered the chicken burrata. The chicken breast was breaded a bit too much and overly fried. Consequently, the chicken was dry and part of it was too tough. The burrata was very good, was pasta and the sauce. We made a reservation for a Friday evening and glad we did as the place was packed. I wasn't crazy about our table which was right underneath a huge ceiling fan, but there wasn't any other choice. Our server was super friendly, but as time went on, he was crazy busy and we had a hard time getting his attention. The menu selection is very good with numerous appetizers, salads, pastas and fish and meat dishes. We were first brought a free bread basket and it was nice and warm and served with a nice dipping oil. Our table shared the special of the night appetizer, spinach arancini. They were larger than usual which was good as they were tasty. I could have done without the spinach as I don't think it added anything other than some vitamins. For my entree I had the pappardelle bolognese. The portion was large and the flavors were great. The pasta was fresh made and delicious. An around five star---service was very nice and friendly staff ---got a corner table ---the waiter suggested a wine to compliment the chicken parm and pasta with olive and garlica--and also suggested a sausage appetizer to start..thinking it might be too greasy the waiter assured me i would love it and if not on the house --as tempted to say we didn't like it -I could not tell a lie ---it was awesome. Osteria Pollani in Safety Harbor is definitely worth the visit. We went a week or so ago ( mid April) . Just to get out of the house.. socializing , also Safety Harbor had their monthly " Street Fest" . Sat at the bar I had the Sangria table mate he had the Old Fashion. Both were very good, prompt service, bartender was friendly, helpful and very polite. At this time we were not soo hungry so we ordered the Antipasto platter ( Affettato Misti). Plenty enough for 2. Platter was brought out promptly and yes was amazing. Price is spot on, pretty reasonable. BTW this establishment is locally owned and operated , it's been in the area for sometime now. Kudos to the bartender/ cook and of course the owner. Keep up the great food. read more

Third time here. No problems the first two times here even though people said it was too much of a sports bar. They've calmed down the TVs and had very nice Italian music on Father's Day First off, Christina, our server was amazing. People say it's expensive but they serve a lot on the entrées. We started with the arancini which has always been excellent. My wife had the Branzini which for her palette was way too salty. Although she said, cooked to perfection. I had the chicken saltimbocca which is excellent. There was a small part that was a little tough on the chicken, but for the most part excellent taste The best part was the sauce on the chicken, which also complimented the spaghetti. You normally just get a red sauce on spaghetti, which is blah. But this sauce was amazing. They having an excellent list of wines. The side Caesar is small and tasty. The special was a grilled Salmon Cioppino. The sauce was excellent, make sure you request the fish cooked medium rare or it will be slightly overcooked, and the potato wedges were out of place. Bread served is complimentary. I have been here a couple times and the food is always fantastic! This last time I decided to try the lasagna and it was delicious! Perfect flavor. The pollo burrata pasta is my favorite dish on the menu! Definitely get that if you don't try anything else! My boyfriend got the chicken piccata and he really enjoyed it. We went for restaurant week to give this place a try, but ordered from the regular menu. We made a reservation, but the restaurant was empty when we arrived at 6p on a Thursday - There is a parking lot right door, which is helpful In Safety Harbor. We were seated at our table of choice and greeted by a very pleasant server + a trainee. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (martini and burrata with speck). Oddly, the appetizer arrived before the drink, I think she forgot to put it in. Bread service is included and was okay. The burrata arrived with burnt toast squares, but we were able to use the bread...Please don't serve burnt toast. Entrees were salmon and chicken piccata, Salmon was way over and served on a bed of arugula, the piccata was decent. Overall the meal was just meh...something I could cook better at home. Service was great, but the restaurant feels like a sports bar with an Italian identity crisis. So many choices in Safety Harbor, Osteria Pollani will be a one and done for me. read more

We started with the mussels and bang bang shrimp appetizers. The group loved the mussels. The bang bang shrimp were amazing. I would order that again and again. For entrees, we ordered the gnocchi ragu, chicken piccata, and chicken marsala. Everybody loved their dish. The gnocchi ragu was really fantastic. The ambience is very nice; kind of fancy and relaxed. They also have several TVs over the bar visible from the entire restaurant (nice to catch a peak of a game). We decided to try a new restaurant in Safety Harbor. I'm Italian and pretty picky about my Italian food. To start the atmosphere is not your typical Italian restaurant. It's pretty industrial feeling. Nothing cozy or romantic. A little bit of a turn off but nothing major. We ordered the calamari and bang shrimp for appetizers. Calamari tasted like rubber bands. Yuck! ($18). The shrimp was good but not very big portion. I think 8 small shrimp ($16). I ordered the Bolognese dish and had my high expectations crash. It was pretty tasteless and instead of penne pasta had some lasagna noodles that were overcooked and soggy. Honestly I can make a better sauce myself and this was made by a chef? Next a member of the party asked for more bread and was told there would be a $4 charge. Really for bread at an Italian restaurant? Completely unacceptable especially since this place is not cheap by any means. Come on keep the bread coming. . . On some positive notes my husband got the rib eye steak. Absolutely delicious and other couple got the filet which was great and the grouper which she said was delicious! So not sure why they want to be an Italian restaurant since that was the only dishes (calamari & Bolognese) that was below standards. The food was excellent, the risotto di pesce which was full of flavor, the frutti di mare which was fresh and well prepared, and the Sicilian bang shrimp which had great flavor and just enough spicyness. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had fried calamari, bruschetta and Sicilian Bang Shrimp as appetizers, all of which were excellent. Overall I'd say 3.5 with plenty of easy areas to improve as it's service and decor that are lacking, not the the food. Rounded down to 3 stars because it definitely was not a 4 star experience based on today's service. Came for a late lunch today during the Kiwanis Art and Craft festival down Main Street - we were able to get seated quite quickly inside, but the outside seats and bar were busy. They had a guitarist performing out front who was wonderfully talented, but a bit loud. This restaurant just recently reopened in the former Tiki Tavern space, and it's still working out some finer details, but we'll be back to give them another chance after a few more months. To start off, the decor looks unfinished. Missing that established feeling. Our server let us know they're still waiting on the pizza oven to come in, so no pizzas on the menu yet, and maybe some other decor will come soon too to fill out the sparse-ness of the space. We all were very satisfied with our food, but a few missteps with service - we never got a bread basket, but people all around us did when their drinks came out. We had water and wine, and the second glass of wine was requested just as food came out, but yet the actual glass didn't come until the meal was finished and the bill was brought to the table. At that point, the second glass wasn't wanted, yet still charged to the bill, so then we were lingering to finish that, and felt rushed out as they cleared and cleaned the table with us still sitting there. So the handful of missteps here need some tweaking & this would be an easy 4 or 5 star experience. The food though was great! The four of us split the bruschetta and that crusty warm bread was spot on, with a wonderful balsamic drizzle and loaded with tomatoes. For meals, a few of our table members wanted lighter fare, so they had appetizers for meals including the octopus and the Sicilian bang shrimp. Both thoroughly enjoyed those! The remaining people went pasta - I opted for the lasagna which was wonderfully hearty and filling, but definitely opt for that fresh Parmesan dusting. My boyfriend's mom got the bolognese and she enjoyed the sauce it came with - a red and cream blend, I think the menu called it a rosé sauce if I recall right. We didn't opt for any desserts this time, but after these we'd definitely be intrigued by what sweet treats could come out of the kitchen. read more

Also $3.00 plate charge - cake cutting service ( we had a small cake for birthday) cost more than the cost of Publix cake. Hope they work out the kinks-I'd like to go back Still feels like a sports bar with the big TV's on the wall. I would like to address the- Toast table deposit We were charged 50.00 on a Wednesday evening for party of 6, My friend was charged $25.00 for party of 2 on New Year's Eve. My book club ( party of 8) was not changed any fee on a Sunday afternoon. I do not understand this policy. This security service fee is returned and deducted and put towards your bill. read more

We got the bruschetta and the flavors were really good. The service is quick and friendly. They are so new and it still has such a sports bar feel. Which it was prior to the new restaurant opening here. However to give them credit I was told that the owners recognize they need to make a few changes for it to feel like the up scale Italian restaurant they are wanting. My husband and I have been meaning to stop into this place since it switched from Tiki Tavern and now I wish I had stopped in sooner. We were taken care of by a great Server, Annette who let us know the specials as we were seated. My husband ordered the Chicken Piccata which was pretty good. I had the 4 cheese Fettuccine and it was perhaps the best cream based pasta dish I have ever had. The fettuccine noodles are made in- house and the sauce was superb. The bread was fresh and perfect amount of crunchy and soft that it didn't even need oil to dip (but it was provided). Massimo stopped by our table to welcome us and we felt very comfortable chatting with everyone. They also had a duet of musicians playing for entertainment.
