Our serve Taylor was AMAZING! She was very attentive, polite, and personable. We loved her! Moving on to the food. We ordered the "Daily Bread" as a starter and let me tell you...best table bread I've ever had ever. We also got the ricotta honey spread and it was delicious!! For our entrees we all got pasta. Chicken fettuccine, cacio e pepe, and cream tomato vodka. All meals were 10/10 good. Everything was so amazing and fresh. We were here celebrating a friends birthday and Taylor surprised her with a delicious slice of cake. I believe it was a lemon blueberry vanilla cake. It was soooo good. I can't say enough amazing things about Jay Luigi! I wanted my son to try their delicious pizza so we made a reservation. We sat out on the gorgeous patio that has beautiful flowers hanging above and lovely lighting. I had a special request for the chef and I will say they went above and beyond to make it happen and take care of us. I'm so thankful! I ordered the Queen Stella Margherita which comes on this tasty tonda crust, it's crispy and flaky. Wow I don't typically eat the outer crust but this bread is so good! It has tomato, house-made mozzarella, and really yummy basil. To drink I had a Seasonal Spritz which I believe had apricots and amaretto, this is a nice fresh drink with great flavor. Great experience start to finish. I was meeting friends for dinner, but I made sure to get there early to take advantage of the happy hour (3-6 PM, Tu-Fr). The bartender greeted me immediately and introduced himself, and in no time at all I had a delicious limoncello spritz in front of me. Our very friendly and knowledgeable server let us order off of the happy hour menu, so my friends and I split a variety of items. First - bread with the 3 dips - you absolutely must get this. Second - fried zucchini balls. While I did like them, I wish they were smaller so the inside was a little more cooked. Third - Creamy Tomato Vodka Pasta - yummy with a bit of kick! This was my favorite food item. Fourth - Queen Stella Margherita pizza. Surprisingly, this was my least favorite item. We got it thin-crust, and while it looked good, it was served completely cold, and the flavor can only be described as cardboard-like. I would definitely try another pizza here, but not this one. Overall. The inside was nice, felt good with a ridiculously tall ceiling. I did hear a CRAZY remix of MLK's I have a dream speech in the bathroom (I'm being so serious. The server even heard it with me) but what a pull, still processing it. Drinks and food were all put in, this moved quickly and that made everybody happy. My first visit to Jay Luigi was on a Wednesday evening in March as a fun group of 6 ladies for a pre-show dinner. One gal had made a reservation for us; we were able to be seated early, in a cozy comfy booth, even though not everyone had yet arrived. And our server Christina was fantastic! Most of us ordered from the Happy Hour menu, including several Pistachio Espresso Martinis. We also shared a plate of Daily Bread with extra virgin olive oil, plus all the sauces (pomodoro fondue, house-made ricotta with honey, and butter with olive oil). Their house-made sour dough bread was amazing, and each sauce was so good & perfect for dipping. Because I'm indecisive, I ordered the Chicken Parm Sliders and Jay's Caesar Salad, both from the Happy Hour Menu. The sliders were built with the same sourdough bread made in-house, and each bite was well-proportioned with sauce, cheese & thick pieces of chicken. And to be blunt, I'm still reminiscing about that Caesar salad. It was so fresh & delicious! Either dish would've been plenty for me as a meal, so I shared with the other ladies, and still had left-overs. We parked for free on the street (Howard Ave.), directly across from Jay Luigi, with no issues. And we left the car there to ride in one vehicle going downtown for several hours, again with no problems. The restaurant offers valet parking but I'm not sure of any other self-parking options. Grabbed a 5:15pm reservation on a Sunday. We were sat inside at a 2 person table that was about 12 inches from another 2 person table. While we don't typically mind being seated near people, these girls we're particularly excited and louder sharing stories etc and I was having trouble hearing my own thoughts of what to order so we requested a different table and were graciously sat outside instead. We had a much better experience for the rest of the meal. Food-wise, we ended up sharing a simple cheese pizza with some meatballs and some rigatoni pasta with the garlic sauce. We also had to get the famous 100 year old yeast made sourdough which was amazing! Loved the pizza with some ricotta on top. I have visited J. Luigi for happy hour on a Friday afternoon around 4:45. My husband and I were able to get really great seats outside and were served almost immediately. The outdoor seating has a great vibe! The happy hour at J. Luigi is very good with a couple of pizzas, pastas and salad salads on the happy hour menu as well as a wide variety of drinks. I always get the super Tuscan wine, which is six dollars on happy hour. The pizzas are $12 on happy hour and are quite the bargain. We went early on a Wednesday night and did not realize that they have jazz every Wednesday on the patio. It was a nice touch as we walked up. We entered and checked in at the host of stand and regretted promptly and sat right away for our reservation at 5:30. I opted to start with the lemon cello apeol spritz and ended with the pistachio espresso martini. That may have been one of the best espresso martinis I've ever tasted it in my life and I've been to Italy to drink them! When I say do not pass up on the trio of dip for the focaccia bread- OMG-this sounds like such a simple appetizer, but it is done with precision and elegance, and the dips are absolutely amazing. We did take most of the bread home and put it in the air fryer the next day it holds up to a restaurant quality standard. We also ordered the chicken Parmesan and the meatball sliders. I will say the chicken Parmesan sliders for exceeded the meatball sliders. The meatballs needed a tad bit more seasoning for my liking. Because her eyes are bigger than our stomachs, we ordered three entrées between the two of us . The carpe de Pepe pasta, the margarita pizza, and the Sweet Jamie Kay pizza. When ordering pizza you have two options to get fluffy area dough or a thin crisp dough we chose both pizzas to be fluffy and airy type. Jay Luigi - St. Pete has been my favorite fast casual restaurant in all of Tampa Bay since I moved here in 2022. I had been meaning to come to the Tampa location since it's by my house, but I've always avoided it due to it being on South Howard Ave where there is never anywhere to park. That super annoys me so I avoid this area. I finally got around coming here after it has probably been open almost a year. This restaurant is a lot different than the St. Pete one. At the St. Pete location you walk in and order at a counter. Then, you pick any seat and the staff will bring you your food. This location is an all out restaurant and bar/lounge. There's no cashier or kiosk to order at when you walk in. Instead you are seated at a table to order like at a normal restaurant. This place was absolutely packed on a Sunday night. Up first, I was a little hesitant since I don't like the taste of pistachio very much. But, I decided to give the $17 Pistachio Espresso Martini a try. Whoa! Bomb! I really liked it. Very different from a regular espresso martini. I also, had their regular espresso martini and it was standard. Tastes exactly as it should, but it was $3 cheaper than the pistachio one. The bartender recommended for me to try a $14 Corpse Reviver #2, but it was like drinking lemonade. I wouldn't get that again, plus it's super small. For food, the $10 charred broccolini is literally the best charred broccolini you can get anywhere. And I order it on tons of menus. This is an absolute must order every single time you come here. Bartender suggested I also try the $18 sliced steak. It was fine, not crazy good, but above average. Not sure I'd get it again, but I was happy that the menu here is a lot different than the one in St. Pete. For an entrée I had the Jay's Caesar with chicken, but the staff comped it since it took over an hour to make a salad. I really like Jay Luigi a lot. Ever since I attended the Yelp Elite event at Jay Luigi when they opened, I've been telling everyone I know about the delicious food there and I've been wanting to go back. Parking is limited, so that usually deters me unless it's a special occasion when I don't mind valeting, but I wish the parking was more plentiful because I would honestly visit all the time! Well, a special occasion came up when we were celebrating my good friend's birthday, and so I recommended Jay Luigi! As I walked in to check in for our reservation, I was so enchanted by the adorable patio seating, with the outdoor couches and low tables beneath beautiful florals. It felt so Miami or Belair and I asked if our outdoor reservation (on the other side of the patio with more standard patio tables and chairs) could be moved to the adorable couch seating. They were so sweet to make that shift for us, and even on a hot day, the patio felt comfortable and the cute seating area worked perfectly for our party! The great service didn't stop there, as our server was incredibly attentive and friendly, and he had plenty of great suggestions for everything from my mango mocktail to my friend's chicken dinner. I addition to those, we ordered the Impossible Meatballs which had a lovely southern Italian sauce with a hint of spice. I'm vegetarian, and I remembered loving these the last time I dined here, but my friends were not vegetarian and they definitely demolished these, too. They are just so good! I also ordered the Margherita pizza which was so large I had leftovers for two more meals, and that 100 year old yeast really makes an impact in their delicious dough! Both my friend and his girlfriend (who ordered the vodka pasta) cleared their plates, so I was confident that they were just as thrilled with the delicious meal as I was! Because it was my friend's birthday, they provided him with a complimentary slice of limoncello cake, and I couldn't help but take a bite. It was rich and tangy and absolutely delicious! As for service and ambiance, it's very cute inside and the outdoor patio area is so pretty. It would be lovely on a nice day with good weather. We sat inside for an early brunch and our server was nice overall. We tried the bread and all 3 dip options. The pomodoro fondue was our favorite and resembles as Mariana-style sauce. All the others were decent, but nothing impressive in my opinion. My boyfriend got a peach mimosa that was very good. I started with the Pistachio Espresso Martini that was just okay. Very sweet and creamy compared to a standard espresso martini, which I prefer. I drank it, but didn't love it. Then I ordered the Tira-me-Booz which was overly sweet as well and I felt like the flavors did not mesh well in the drink, so I did end up sending it back. Our server was nice about it. I got the Tiramisu French Toast and it was very poorly done. The inside of the toast was soggy and overall not what you want when getting French toast. Flavor was okay, but texture and lack of being fully cooked in the middle was disappointing. My boyfriend got the Hell's Chicken which was also just okay. The valet was $6 and this most recent time was a Friday night and we just planned to get a drink at the bar so he let us check to make sure there was a spot before parking. Just ok food friendly staff but step up the food this restaurant location changes ownership too frequently

Matt is the absolute best and Omfg, the bread is GF friendly!!! I was so scared but I tried it and I feel great (: 100 year old starter from Italy, tried and true. Perfection. I have so many favorites here: the GF carbonara, the ricotta for the bread, the mozzarella, the sliced steak with air fried little capers....i could go on and on. I went here for my birthday the restaurant was decorated very beautiful. Loved how they changed it up from the old restaurant. I tried a few things. The sliders were bomb and the pizza delicious and tasty. But the pasta was not it for me.. it had a weird after taste and I've had al dente before which is how they do their pasta but it was very hard more than normal. The sauce was lacking flavor. I would go back if they had happy hour and for apps but for the pasta was not a fan. The pasta i tried was the carbonara. read more

I had a deeply disappointing and uncomfortable experience at Jay Luigi that completely contradicted the idea of hospitality. My mother and I specifically chose this restaurant because of its high reviews and because their online information clearly states that dogs are allowed (we have screenshots confirming this). That detail mattered to us, as we were dining with our dog. We arrived around 6:20 PM, and there were clearly multiple open tables both inside and outside. The hostess (short blonde girl) immediately asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, she looked us up and down and told us they were "fully booked for the night," with only 10 PM reservations available, despite it being early evening. We mentioned we were happy to sit outside since we had our dog, and she dismissed us and told us to leave. Once outside, I checked Resy and was able to book a reservation for 6:30 PM with no issue. As we walked back in, we overheard another couple being told they could sit at a table as long as they "ate fast." Directly in front of my mother, a family without a reservation was offered a table in the back and seated immediately. When my mom explained we had just made a reservation, the hostess suddenly said, "Oh okay," and seated us at a tiny table directly next to the check-in stand, despite many other tables being open. When I came in with our dog, the hostess immediately asked, "Is that a service dog?" My mom confirmed yes, and the hostess pressed again, "Are you sure?" an inappropriate and uncomfortable question. She then stated they "don't accept animals," despite: * Our confirmation that the dog is a service animal * Their online listing explicitly stating dogs are allowed, which is one of the main reasons we chose this restaurant We again offered to sit outside to avoid any issue, and she refused, saying there were "no tables," which was demonstrably untrue. At this point, the interaction had become rude, dismissive, and demeaning. When my mother asked to speak to a manager, a man stepped in and responded with "Why?" instead of identifying himself or offering help. The entire experience felt discriminatory, hostile, and completely opposite of what hospitality should be. We were treated fundamentally differently than other guests who arrived without reservations, and the questioning and handling of a service animal was especially concerning. Given the nature of this experience, I look forward to speaking with your legal team regarding this matter. I left feeling disrespected and upset. This was not just poor service, it was unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

Jay Luigi has to be my favorite pasta restaurant in all of Tampa. First of all, the restaurant is decorated so vibrant and floral, it's very cutesy. I love to sit outside when the weather is nice as the restaurant tends to be on the colder side, so be sure to bring a sweater. Their pasta is served al dente and everything is made fresh to order. My all time favorite dish is the rigatoni vodka with crispy chicken. However, I have tried almost all of the pasta dishes and have yet to be disappointed. They also have seasonal dishes one of which was their Bolognese so naturally I had to try that. The only thing I would say is that I wish it had a bit of a kick to it. I paired it with a lemoncello spritz which they do so well! If you plan to dine here definitely make a reservation ahead of time and be sure to thank me later because you'll for sure be back. Amazingggg food and atmosphere, just very busy, definitely make reservations if going for dinner. I shared the Luca salad, definitely big enough starter for 2-3 to share. Then had gf pasta with the creamy tomato vodka. Normally not my favorite but it was so good and the grilled chicken paired so well. Would reccomend a starter or 2 if you're getting pasta though. Drinks are also so good, I recommend the pistachio espresso martini. read more
