My first visit to Jay Luigi was on a Wednesday evening in March as a fun group of 6 ladies for a pre-show dinner. One gal had made a reservation for us; we were able to be seated early, in a cozy comfy booth, even though not everyone had yet arrived. And our server Christina was fantastic! Most of us ordered from the Happy Hour menu, including several Pistachio Espresso Martinis. We also shared a plate of Daily Bread with extra virgin olive oil, plus all the sauces (pomodoro fondue, house-made ricotta with honey, and butter with olive oil). Their house-made sour dough bread was amazing, and each sauce was so good & perfect for dipping. Because I'm indecisive, I ordered the Chicken Parm Sliders and Jay's Caesar Salad, both from the Happy Hour Menu. The sliders were built with the same sourdough bread made in-house, and each bite was well-proportioned with sauce, cheese & thick pieces of chicken. And to be blunt, I'm still reminiscing about that Caesar salad. It was so fresh & delicious! Either dish would've been plenty for me as a meal, so I shared with the other ladies, and still had left-overs. We parked for free on the street (Howard Ave.), directly across from Jay Luigi, with no issues. And we left the car there to ride in one vehicle going downtown for several hours, again with no problems. The restaurant offers valet parking but I'm not sure of any other self-parking options. I really enjoyed the ambiance & food at Jay Luigi! Bites shared with me from the other dishes were just as tasty as what I'd ordered. The Happy Hour menu has a few more things I want to try, along with some dishes on the full menu, so I definitely plan to return.

Love Jay Luigi, especially their happy hour from Tuesday through Friday from 3 to 6 pm. They have $12 pizza and pasta and great happy hour cocktails, including an espresso martini. I've been here for both happy hour and dinner, and it never disappoints. Service is great too! When the weather is nice, I love sitting out on the patio. You really can't go wrong with the pasta and pizza. I especially liked the Jess Knows Best and the cacio e pepe. What I ordered: - Jay's Caesar: romaine, radicchio, dried black cherries, Marcona almonds, house-made croutons, crumbled egg yolk, grana padano - Jess Knows Best: truffle honey, goat cheese, mushroom, caramelized onions, thyme - Cacio E Pepe: spaghetti alla chitarra, cracked black pepper, panko breadcrumbs, grana padano - Chicken Parm Sliders: crispy chicken, sourdough bread, pomodoro, fondue, mozzarella - Not Your Nonna's Tiramisu: mascarpone panna cotta, espresso, chocolate, ladyfingers

The pasta at JL is sooo yummy. Love the cacio e Pepe, alla vodka, and carbonara. The bread app with whipped ricotta is a must try! They have an amazing happy hour and service is always great. Love sitting at the bar such a great ambiance.

I had heard that this place changed over to JL and heard it was doing quite well, so I'm a little late to the party here... Our loud group of 6 were seated in a booth and had Your Daily Bread - it was FABULOUS. Don't skip this...with all 3 spreads! Also had a short thin pasta with a slit in it, I can't recall the name, but the vodka sauce was fab. The meatballs were amazing as well. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. Service with Christina was perfect, on par and super friendly. She enjoyed our group as we were a fun group... We will definitely be back for more!

It was my first time here and unfortunately, the food didn't meet my expectations. I ordered the carbonara, but it lacked flavor and the noodles were noticeably undercooked. They tasted hard when biting into them. My boyfriend ordered the same dish and felt the same way. My mom had the limoncello pasta and she also wasn't impressed. The noodles weren't creamy, undercooked and overall, the flavors just weren't memorable. The pizza was the only standout. It was actually really good. Service could have been better as well. We were seated outside, and our server was quite slow. That said, the ambiance was beautiful both inside and out. There was jazz playing outside which created a really nice atmosphere and made me expect more from the food. Overall, I wouldn't return. In my opinion, there are better authentic Italian restaurants that are more worth your time and money.

Went here with my girlfriend for lunch, and honestly, I had dreams about the sourdough from this place...it's that good. You can truly taste the love and care that goes into making it. The restaurant itself is adorable, the service is great, and most importantly, the owner is incredibly hands-on and genuinely friendly. Not in a surface-level way, but in a way that makes you feel like you've been welcomed into someone's home. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and intentional. Highly recommend, this place is special.

Very good food on my first visit to Jay Luigi. The Queen Stella Marguerite pizza was delicious. The crust was thin and the flavor was perfect. Happy hour is Tuesday thru Friday 3pm to 6pm and the parking lot is decent size. Sitting at the bar was best for us on this trip as we walked in and there were reservations coming in. The service at the bar was great, very friendly staff. Very beautiful indoor ambiance, the decor is nice and this spot is a vibe.

This place absolutely lived up to all the TikTok hype. The pasta was worth every bit of the praise. Perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and clearly made with intention. You can taste the quality in every bite. I also enjoyed the espresso martini so much!! Definitely try and catch this place during happy hour. The atmosphere felt cozy and intimate. When a place is talked about this much, you hope it delivers and Jay Luigi definitely does. I'll be back.

I have visited J. Luigi for happy hour on a Friday afternoon around 4:45. My husband and I were able to get really great seats outside and were served almost immediately. The outdoor seating has a great vibe! The happy hour at J. Luigi is very good with a couple of pizzas, pastas and salad salads on the happy hour menu as well as a wide variety of drinks. I always get the super Tuscan wine, which is six dollars on happy hour. The pizzas are $12 on happy hour and are quite the bargain. I definitely plan on returning for my usual pizza, salad and wine combo! The pizza crust is made with sourdough bread and I normally don't like thick crust pizza but I do like it here. I like the thin crust too!!

Had dinner here for a girlfriend's birthday, then came back a few weeks later for a date night. Both meals started with classic Hugo spritzes. They have a whole spritz bar and can make any refreshing drink you'd like! I love Hugo Spritzes, and they have one of the best recipes around! With my friends we sat inside at a long table. We shared the table with another group and although I thought it'd be weird, we were separated enough to where we barely noticed they were there after a few minutes! The next time I sat outside as I brought my dog, Ben! The patio was dog friendly, and about every waiter who passed by stopped to say hi and pet Ben! The weather was perfect so I'd highly recommend both inside and outside seating! The food itself was absolutely divine. I love Italian, and so it's difficult for me to swoon at a restaurant. But Jay Luigi made me fall head over heels! Everything was the perfect blend of authentic yet comforting. Meeting my expectations for what I was hoping a dish would taste like, and being absolutely delicious while doing it! Some restaurants try to put spins on classic dishes that end up taking them off the beaten path. But Jay Luigi takes Italian staples, matches authentic recipes, and stands out by doing them so so so well! I already can't wait to go back again! Parking is limited, but they have valet! It's sometimes complimentary, sometimes paid, depending on the day of the week/season. But if you don carry cash they do take credit cards! This is definitely a be back for me! Either for a girls night, a romantic dinner, or for happy hour! If you're looking for good Italian definitely give Jay Luigi a try!

Wanted to try a new Friday Happy Hour spot & realized that I haven't came to this place yet. I've been in this building when it was Luv Child plenty of times. To make sure you secure a seat, it's probably best to make reservations. I didn't know that until I walked in BUT, there were plenty of open bar seating with another option to eat at the side bar area. The staff was super friendly & efficient! The food was delicious! I got the parm sliders & Caesar salad. I didn't expect nuts & raisins on my salad but it was very tasty! Those sliders.... I need more especially with that sourdough bread! I also got the JL Spritz which is kinda like an Aperol spritz but Jay Luigi's take on it! Happy Hour hours are Tue-Fri from 3p to 6p. I will definitely come back bc I need to try their pasta!

Jay Luigi has to be my favorite pasta restaurant in all of Tampa. First of all, the restaurant is decorated so vibrant and floral, it's very cutesy. I love to sit outside when the weather is nice as the restaurant tends to be on the colder side, so be sure to bring a sweater. Their pasta is served al dente and everything is made fresh to order. My all time favorite dish is the rigatoni vodka with crispy chicken. However, I have tried almost all of the pasta dishes and have yet to be disappointed. They also have seasonal dishes one of which was their Bolognese so naturally I had to try that. The only thing I would say is that I wish it had a bit of a kick to it. I paired it with a lemoncello spritz which they do so well! If you plan to dine here definitely make a reservation ahead of time and be sure to thank me later because you'll for sure be back. Side note, the restaurant does not take cash.

I really enjoyed the Aperitivo Hour at Jay Luigi with my daughter, and we can't wait to go back again. The outside dining area where you enter is so beautiful with all the cascading flowers that I had to take some pictures out there. We sat inside and it had a very nice vibe. We ordered a limoncello spritz and the corpse reviver, and both were absolutely perfect. We then shared the Jay's Caesar salad and the Daisy pizza. Jay's Caesar salad was so unique and delicious with the addition of dried black cherries, Marcona almonds and crumbled egg yolk. The Daisy pizza was amazing topped with carbonara bacon, egg, mozzarella pepper and gran padano. We had such a wonderful experience, and I really can't stop dreaming of that meal. Everything was so perfect!

No appetizer, no bread, no dessert, no alcohol. It was good but not for that price in my opinion. I feel like you can get two decent steaks for that price - because when you really lay out the ingredients for what we ordered and the cost, it's very simple and doesn't cost too much to make. I found it jarring to pay that much money for ordering at a counter and for the portion amount. The staff was friendly, and its smaller in there than I expected. Luckily we found a table for two but I'd personally be hesitant to go there with a larger group. It's not like it was bad, it just didn't blow me out of the water to justify that price tag for two again.

Ever since going to Armature, DalMoros has always been a staple for my family. One of the cool things about DalMoros is the fairly simple menu and selection path. The most recent combination was the penne and cacio e pepe - just the perfect base flavor compared to the tangy and sometimes spicier options. When it comes to freshness, freshly made pasta at the site appears to be one of the pillars of the DalMoros business model. You can't go wrong with this as it is cooked to al dente perfection. As others mentioned, there usually isn't a line - and if there is, the staff is able to manage it fairly well such that you can place your order and pick your made-to-order meal within a relatively good time. They said the fettuccine was out but I saw like half of a tray on the counter? Not sure if that was meant for online orders or whatever but it was in poor taste to leave it out as it lead to disappointment. This is nowhere close to New York style pizza. I have never tasted or even seen a pizza like this from NY. The closest comparison I can make is a random pizza spot I tried once in Washington DC. The crust is massive, and if you look at my pizza or almost any photo posted here, you will notice the same thing. The bottom was not charred enough to give it any real crisp, and the dough itself was very dry with a strange baked texture that did not resemble traditional pizza dough at all. There is also a heavy amount of cheese, which overpowers everything else. The sauce was decent at first and they are generous with it, but I kept getting hints of olive flavor. Unfortunately, I hate olives, and I do not understand why olive flavor would be in the sauce unless olives were requested as a topping. As for the atmosphere, the place was extremely busy due to the surrounding nightlife scene. It was very loud inside, making it hard to have a conversation, and the constant crowd added to the chaos. Parking was also difficult and required some patience just to find a spot nearby. Overall, the pizza is decent, but it is nowhere near New York pizza and certainly not deserving of its top rated reputation. In my opinion, this place is good, but its not great. Heavily overhyped and overrated by people who may not know what real NY pizza tastes like.
