I will constantly be shopping here now. Recently I read that food is more regulated in Italy so I went on a quest to find food made in Italy. This is the place to go. Yes, there is tons of food made in the US too but it's a good variety. You won't find everything that you find at a standard grocery store here. Off the top of my head I couldn't find Greek yogurt, cottage cheese or nut butter, but what you do find is spectacular. We got pasta and pasta sauce imported from Italy, frozen ravioli from New York, coffee beans from Italy, bread from local bakeries, and my husband loved the coke from Mexico with real sugar. We also grabbed cannolis from their deli. They have a substantial wine and butcher area. Also a a good selection of ready made foods. This place is hidden, but the parking lot is big. Just OK is my takeaway. It was under construction in the middle of the store so I could not get some items. I wanted Calabrian chiles, but they were apparently behind the plastic construction area. At the deli, I asked for a half pound prosciutto. They cut over 1lb due to lack of English. OK. I took it anyway so it was not wasted (the domestic was no bueno). It was old and dried out. There was no one at the meat counter, so I had to ask the deli guy to help me. The chicken breasts that were on sale were gatgantuan. I have never seen chicken breasts so large. The wings smelled bad when I got home to package to freeze. I had to toss 10 lbs. The reason I went was for the chicken sale. I am not risking food poisoning. The prices on most grocery items were actually higher than Publix. For specialty Italian items, the selection was just good. I did find guanciale and pancetta. Honestly, I would rather go to Mazzaro's or Moschella's. Their service is much better, and they have much more specialty items, plus they are cleaner and don't sell old nasty food. read more

The store was busy, as expected during the holiday season, but the staff were efficient and helpful. We were specifically in search of smelts and octopus to complete our "Feast of the Seven Fishes" menu, and we were not disappointed; their seafood selection, like their meat counter, is extensive. The selection of specialty fish, meats, and imported goods at Cacciatore Bros is truly remarkable. The butcher counter, which is a major highlight, offers everything from various cuts of beef and poultry to harder-to-find options like lamb. We couldn't resist picking up some of their house-made spiral Christmas sausage, which is available in several flavors including a delicious special blend with imported Pecorino Romano cheese and parsley. The aisles are stocked with an array of imported Italian items, from every pasta shape imaginable to a wide selection of olive oils, cheeses, and unique condiments. The market also shines with its selection of authentic imported goods, perfect for holiday treats. We made sure to grab some Torrone (a classic Italian nougat confection) and a package of Bellino Savoiardi Lady Fingers to be used for Tiramisu. The store has a great wine selection as well, with options from around the world to pair with your gourmet meal. Our visit to Cacciatore Bros will make preparing our Christmas Eve dinner an exciting and authentic experience. I've been to Cacciatore Bros for lunch several times and overall I think it's really good. The chef salad is fresh, filling, and always hits the spot. Their hot meals are also consistently solid and great for a quick lunch. The deli itself can get very hectic, especially during peak hours, with long lines and lots going on at once. The staff is generally friendly, though they can be a bit assertive when things get busy. Despite the chaos, I still recommend it for the food quality, pricing, and variety. read more

Old school Italian grocery and butcher shop. They have ALL your Italian grocery needs covered. We tried their homemade antipasti, chocolate canolis and it was all great. We bought a 7 lb boneless rib roast, their highest grade I believe was Choice. The roast was delicious! We came out of our way to shop here for Christmas meals, but I will definitely try and make it back more often. They have very good deals on their butcher meats. read more

What an absolute shame... I have so many memories of going to the store as a child and throughout the years every time I go, it gets nasty tier and nastier. I don't know how everyone leaving that place with a purchase does not go home eat it and die of food poisoning. It smells like food that has gone bad. The second you walk through the door it punches you in the face. They're all a bar is absolutely horrendous. What a serious letdown the olives look more dried up than SpongeBob's grandma. Honestly, I'm trying to be serious but it's just so upsetting that a store was such a reputation a store that has been around for so long a store that says they're Italian doesn't have a single Italian or even a descendent of any type of Italian in the entire place. I went to the store to purchase chorizo the tree so they had prepackaged felt mushy and also had to buy one get one sticker and they only had one package not that I would've bought either. This is nothing close to what an Italian market should look like feel like or smell like the only reason they're still open is because of what they were at one point but are no longer by a long shot. I will absolutely never go into the store again this 100% confirmed it on the last trip. It sucks to see businesses like this started by generations that have passed handed on to their children or grandkids whatever the situation may be, and they simply don't care. read more

Absolutely reminiscent of the type of store you'll find by the dozens up north. We rarely bought our meats at the chain grocers up in New England. It was all about the Italian butchers back in my day. Cacciatore's offers an array of large cuts of meats, seafoods, cheeses, fresh herbs, wine, and every pasta shape in existence. Everything you need to make a sauce you'll find here. The prices for quantity are what makes it worth the drive. Much more bang for your buck than Publix. Our most recent purchase was four pounds of brisket. Tender and delicious. Seeing all the biscottis and other Italian foods made me nostalgic but I couldn't purchase much of the grocery items. Couldn't find a single gluten free brand. Overall worth checking out if you're in the area or in search of larger quantities and variety of meats. read more

I have not been too this location since I lived nearby in the early 90's... and kept meaning to stop, since I am in the area occasionally. They have one of the best (and busiest) meat markets in Tampa... with a wide selection of meats, and butchers that will cut it to your liking. Good selection of some hard to find frozen meats also, including rabbit, goat and lamb. Great vegetable and fruit selection, really fresh... nice to walk down the aisle and just look. So much better than many supermarkets. Lots of pastas and sauces, and a lot of Italian and Latin specialty foods too. They also have a hot food area... where you can get lasagna, and different salads... and a huge selection of yummy olives of all types. Baked goods too... they had a Focaccia bread with artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes that I really wanted to get... but alas, dieting, so avoiding carbs like that if I can. Great store if you like to cook! Great store if you just want to pick up something pre-made, and munch! The store is clean, well setup, and easy to shop in. It smells like a real grocery store too... instead of a the sterile, boring supermarkets. You can smell the garlic, the onions, the baked goods... the spices! I was surprised this grocery has some great Italian goods. I thought that this is just a regular grocery store. They carry some interesting grocery items not normally found. They do carry some international grocery items. To start, their fresh produce has a lot of varieties. They got it from local market and bag it at the same day. It is also including the live herb that still in the pot. You can get those and pick the leaves and cook for fresh ingredients. They have the home made chorizo with buy one and get one free. The home made Italian sausages are displayed in the climate control glass storage cabinets. The flavor includes thick cheese with parsley, mild sausage, kielbasa and more. Fresh seafood and prepared seasoning seafood are on display. Giant scallops, fillets tilapia, peeled shrimp are beautifully displayed. Poultry, meat cut was there for your choice. I like their ice cream. We have the hazel nut Italian ice cream that is heavenly good. read more

I am in love! This Italian meat market has been in my bookmarks for atleast 2 years now. It a about 15-20 mins from my house so I always felt it was out of the way. I would travel much much farther to visit this amazingness. They have everything! Wine, fresh cheeses, housemade chorizo, olive oil, imported ravioli of every variety, fresh produce..shall I go on? On this trip I had the butcher give me a big old slab of bone in Angus prime rib. Wish me luck as this is my first attempt at the cut of meat for Christmas. Then my eye caught procuttio stuffed cherry peppers, oh and cheese faccacia from a local St. Pete bakery. I couldn't leave without getting some ravioli from Brooklyn. O.M.GOODNESS! Emphasis on GOODNESS! My husband and I drove from Spring Hill (about an hour one way) to Cacciatore Bros looking to buy some good beef. We were not disappointed! We chose bacon wrapped filet mignon, and it literally melted in my mouth. SO GOOD! The sausage and cheese counters were packed with lots of selections, the grocery items were plentiful with different brands, and the produce and frozen sections offered a variety as well. We will definitely be going back! You can check out their weekly ad on their Facebook page. We also stopped at Cacciatore and Sons, but were not impressed. I really like this small, Italian grocery store. In addition to carrying all the supermarket basics that a large grocery store would have, they also have a fine selection of interesting specialty items. If you are going to a dinner party and want to bring something tasty and unusual with you, this would be a great place to shop. The meat counter(s) are not to be missed. Tip 1 - Take a number, first thing. There are usually many people queuing up, so get your place in line. Then you'll have plenty of time to ogle all offerings in the deli cases. I spend most of time trying to decide between the pre-made salads: tomato/mozzarella and the antipasti salad are my favorites, although the tuna is great, and I've had Mediterranean combos that I really enjoyed too. If you are an olive fan, this might be olive heaven for you. Make sure you pay a visit to the their vast cheese area, across from the meats, topped by a variety of cracker options. Whatever you are looking for - they have it. They also have a wonderful wine selection in the corner of the store. I love that for the holidays they stock many Italian holiday wines. Prices are very reasonable on the their produce, plus it all is incredibly fresh. Because the store is so small, they stock merchandise in every available space, so look above the produce too, when you're in that aisle, because I have found things I needed there. Grab a loaf of fresh baked Cuban bread from a local bakery on your way out, and you will have all you need for a perfect meal. read more

I was deeply disappointed at the COVID precautions. Only 2 of the 8 people I saw behind the meat counter were wearing there mask appropriately . Wearing it over both your nose and mouth is protecting me from you. If you are wearing a mask at all you understand the consequences of your actions. I know everyone out there is all about Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Mazzero's and I am not knocking them but this is the place to go if you are on a budget, cook a lot, and like to cook Italian or Spanish foods. This small grocery store in Town N Country is a great place to go for meat. Their butchers are always busy helping customers, and they are very efficient. We like to get chicken breasts in bulk as well as ground beef and steaks. The big grocery chains can't beat these prices and it is easy to come home and portion it out for freezing. Also, they make their own sausages and have a pretty good sized deli. They also have a good selection of cheeses, spices and affordable wines. The produce section is small, but what they have is always in good condition. I mentioned Italian and Spanish cooking. You will find pastas, bulk lentils and beans, and tons of canned goods or sauces that you will not get in most grocery stores so if you are making a dish that calls for red lentils and can't find them elsewhere without paying an arm and a leg, come here. If you have found El Mofongazo Restaurant, then look directly across the parking lot and you're staring at the front doors to Cacciatore Brothers. Like many of the local neighborhood markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, Cacciatore's is well stocked with deli foods, extremely fresh produce, pastries, beans, rices, pastas, sauces and seasonings. Add to that shelves filled with countless boxed and canned goods, coolers of beer and sodas, and homemade spice blends. In addition Cacciatore's has a full wine shop, and a huge butcher shop / meat counter extending along two sides of the store with freshly sliced cheese, cold cuts, homemade sausages, and a fantastic selection of custom-cut steaks, beef, chicken, pork, seafood and fish. They had some amazing special pricing on steaks, ribs, and pork roasts today, so I loaded up for the Holidays. As an example, the boneless pork loin was $2.99 a pound, and so a nice 4-pound roast for $12, along with a bag of yellow rice and some black beans, and I'm good for the week!
