Today I finally went to this butcher after wanting to for a long time. It did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and I quickly selected my ribeye, paid and was on my way. I was surprised by the variety of sauces and other accompaniments available but I just bought a steak to grill for dinner. I settled on prime and it was the best tasting steak I've had in years including high end steak houses. I'll definitely be back!!! read more

If I could give them more than five stars I would. I called looking for a rare specialty cut of steak and they had it and were willing to set aside for me the next time they got it in. They also have amazing cheeses, sauces, and other specialty meats. Their marinated chicken looks to die for. I will definitely be back! Customer Service was beyond top-notch. read more

I have been wanting to try Prime Butcher for awhile. I decided to stop for a nice Sunday evening steak dinner with my husband. The store is very nice except it is a bit overcrowded with products. I could not get close to the meat case because of the other products in front of it. They have a large selection of items but all squished so it was a little hard to see things. I would definitely suggest they look for a much bigger shop. It would be wonderful and easier. This is the ONLY reason there are not 5 stars. I was helped by Tyler who was very nice, patient and knowledgeable. I picked two ribeyes, scallops, a bottle of wine and seasoned butter. Sorry, no pictures. The ribeye was tasty, flavorful and tender! You can not get anything like it at a grocery store!!! I can not say enough about how amazing it was!!!! The scallops were very good as well! I used the seasoned butter and everything was popping with flavor!!!! The bottle of wine was a bit dry, I prefer a slightly sweeter wine but it was good nevertheless. It was the best home grilled steak dinner I've ever had! For this quality of meat I expected to pay more and I did. My order was $176. I will definitely go back and try other meats and more that they had. I will need to save up a bit for another great ribeye though. read more

Had a great experience with the shop and the owner. I've promised out of town friends that they will have a best steak before they head out as it's a proper thing to do when you visit USA. Showed up 10 minutes before closing and they were eager to help me. Got great quality steaks and great grill marks. Certainly will be back read more

The shop is exceptional they are so well stocked it floored me. We live about 3 miles away and had never knew it existed. All type of meats and a super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend you pay a visit you'll be impressed!!!! Don't listen to Natalie P. she must have been in Walmart, she sure wasn't in Prime Butcher! read more

Went to prime the first time today what a selection they have of meat and we had the ribeye steaks and they were awesome on the grill tonight. Owner of the store was extremely helpful while buying a gift certificate and the other items we purchased will definitely be back. read more

Was not to thrilled with our experience at the store or the meat. Was excepting something with much better quality for those prices! Definitely will not be going back. read more

Absolutely fabulous shop not only for the best prime beef but also for a great shopping experience. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The store is immaculately clean. They also sell specialty items like wine, cheese, gelato, and and fresh frozen pizzas that I'm definitely going to try. I'm so happy to have them in the neighborhood. They specialize in USDA Prime beef and dry aged Prime beef. USDA Prime is the highest-quality beef available in the USA, making up only 5% of the market. This is a very high end shop. Do not come here if you want $3.99/lb beef. This is not that kind of shop. Today we took advantage and bought the weekend special- about 7lbs of meat for $69! Great value for this quality. We also took home 2 bottles of wine. Love supporting our local shops. We will be back soon and often. read more

Selection nonpareil, Pepe's shop in Lutz is far and away the best in Tampa Bay. Excellent selections of various Wagyu beef cuts, beautiful USDA Choice NY Strip Loin, also an extraordinary, well-curated stock of condiments, cheeses, spices, and prepared foods Highly recommend the Sanguinetti Pork roll and the Atlas Stuffed whole deboned chicken. There are also seafood selections from the freezer, and some perfectly dry aged steaks to choose from. If you prefer quality, delivered with flawless service, I suggest putting a trip to Prime Butcher Shop on your next grocery list. It is quite special. read more

Tucked in a strip mall across from Grace church is Prime butcher shop. Small business who shops local for some of his stock, I spotted nothing bundt cakes! I love those, so moist. The meats oh the meats!! Japanese Waygu steak for the low low price of $140 a pound. It is literally striped with marbled fat like my dream steak! All kinds of traditional cuts Usda prime beef like your eating at Bern's steakhouse but at home. Some exotics in the cooler, pizzas, sides, potatos, green peppers, and other toppings, mushrooms, stinky blue cheese from england, and so much more. You really have to see for yourself, I mean now before inflation and food shortages, hurry. The owner saw me doing my Yelp thing and came over to see if I needed help. He was nice and genuine, he now has a customer for life. The pork torpedo was wonderful, full of sausage flavor and melty cheese. I can vouch for it, worth every penny. Do yourself a favor, go grab a cowboy ribeye. It's Huge! read more

I need a prime rib roast for Christmas dinner. This store was the first one I found to have prime rib (Publix was out). I drove 25 miles to get to the store before it closed. When I got there, I asked for a five-pound rib roast. It was near closing time and they obviously didn't want to give me one. Instead, the owner insisted that the size I wanted was too much and that I should go with a two-pound roast. I explained to him that the size wasn't enough for my family. Still needing something to serve my family on Christmas Day, I bought the two-pounder for a whopping $97! In hindsight, I made a huge mistake in doing so. I get a five to six-pound roast every year. Why did the owner have to argue with me about it? Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?" I should have walked out without buying anything. I won't be recommending this store to anyone. They obviously don't respect their customers. read more

I wish there was a 10 star rating because this place would get it from me. The owner Pepe was so nice and explained the meat grades. I thought I knew them all but I was mistaken. Only prime meats, marinated chicken, aged steaks and high-end seafood here. I had my best filet mignon ever, and I'm old enough to know... This is the only place I will be getting my meats from. Well worth every $ spent! read more

The best rib eye steak in town by far and will always be buy from this place. We have tried dozens of meat place and nothing compares

Truly outstanding butcher shop!! I love supporting local, small businesses but I was particularly impressed with this shop. I visited for the first time not knowing what to expect, but I was instantly greeted by the owner and received impeccable service. Pepe is very knowledgeable and offered me tips, including recommended butters to baste my cuts with. I was interested in finding high quality rib eye to see how it compared with typical groceries in the area...and boy was I blown out of the water! I cooked my ribeyes as Pepe suggested & I swear the steak melted in my mouth. It is 100% worth the price point! I love seeing the aging meats displayed in the shop & all the various specialty items. Also- they have STELLAR house made chimichurri!!! I love chimichurri but it's a pain to make just a little since you want it fresh...this was freshly packed and full of flavor! I've never once had chimichurri taste this good from any store. I can't wait to come back & hope you give them a try! Posting a few pics of my cuts and delicious dinner I made to go with them. Thank you Pepe & family for your hard work and for making your customers meals so special. See you again real soon!! ;) read more

Wonderful to have a butcher shop so close by! When you walk in, it's surprisingly beautiful, almost chic. Modern but quaint. And extremely clean. No old butcher shop odor here. The choices are plenty from beer and wine to cheese and beautiful desserts, spices and veggies to cook with the dinner you're picking up. And did I mention the desserts... They have a chocolate chip caramel cookie that is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Rich enough for two, but you won't want to share. read more

As soon as you walk in, the place just has this upscale feel. It was very nice. The staff behind the counter was great at explaining the different aging and types of steak they had to offer. Huge selection of cuts and even different meats. We got the dry aged and a standard fillet to try out the difference and see what we preferred. Highly recommend for people to determine their preferences. read more

This is a perfect example of a business operating under the assumption that the consumer is ignorant. They market wagyu on their Facebook page but fail to specify if it is American, Australian or Japanese Wagyu. Misleading. They also say that certain steaks have a certain marbling score. Also misleading. They are subjectively grading this marbling score. The USDA is not grading the marbling score. They sell the same steaks at twice the price of others, based on their BS marbling scores and other BS criteria. Go talk to the owner. If you know anything about meat, you'll know he's full of bologna within about 10 seconds. Misleading the consumer and charging egregious prices is how they are profiting. Your answer below is wrong as well. USDA does not grade marbling score numerically. They grade select, choice, prime. The bms can approximate somewhere between 0-5 but the USDA does not make an official numerical score. Saying that US prime beef is above 5 bms (which you do) is completely subjective and does not necessarily indicate a better quality steak. Furthermore, in the US, yield grade should never be confused with beef quality, nor should it ever be used as a marketing tool (which you do). US yield grades and Japanese yield grades are completely different and are not interchangeable. read more

.Use to be a customer of another "meat market" but now only go to Prime. Love to see a local business owner working hard and to support them! Use to get my A5 and Australian wagyu from a "meat market" but found out they were bringing in the meat amd freezing it and then putting it out as fresh, never with Pepe. Now only get my wagyu cut by Pepe and his sword. Keep up the good work. It feels good to support someone who operates in am ethical and morale manner. read more

The service, the quality and the expertise are top notch! If you care about the meats you prepare, do yourself a favor and check them out!

Came here Friday looking for date night steaks. If you want steakhouse restaurant quality at your home, look no further. Picked out some filets and they were one of the best I've had! The meat melted in your mouth. Also got two NY cheesecakes and they were delicious, but would have preferred the compote a little stronger . The gentleman I spoke with today, I neglected to get his name, on the phone and in store was so helpful and knowledgeable. The store is absolutely beautiful with a wide selection of meats, cheeses, olive oils, and even a fridge with beer and soda. Their steaks look remarkably good with tons of fat content for marbling. I cannot wait to come back to score some Kansas City steaks. Worth the 35 minute drive!! read more

Great Butcher shop- Mo is awesome, selection is largest in north Tampa. Empanadas are in shop soon!

I'm very disappointed with Prime Butcher. I picked up two "prime" filet mignons and honestly the after taste was old meat. My significant other compared it to ground beef. Per sig other "ground beef tastes better." And of course, we can not bypass the poor customer service. Some guy with an accent that clearly worked in the shop appeared as though he was only interested in customers that were spending a lot of money. No greetings for us, complete disregard when entering this Butcher shoppe. Do not recommend. read more

5 stars I have never had a go-to butcher shop before, but this is place is it! The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. Also, they will order something specific you want, if you ask. I drive by this place often and figured I would check it out after a weekend run to Publix. Unbeknown to me, the shop had just closed. They saw me walk up to the door and unlocked it for me even though they had already closed up for the evening. I ended up buying a leg of lamb (amazing!!) and a fondue kit (would pass next time). I appreciated how kind they were and that they encouraged me to take my time. The shop had so many different cuts of meat, cheeses, specialty items, Stonewall Kitchen products, gelato, and more. Can't wait to try their other items! (during regular business hours, of course) read more

OMG!! We made a deliberate trip from Clearwater to visit this gem of a meat market and it could not of been a better decision!! We got 2 filets that were as good as any 5 restaurant. Also got all of the above for less than a chain restaurant was going to charge us for the family gathering, WIN WIN HIGHLY RECOMMEND read more

Best butcher shop I've ever been too, the meat selection is very large to choose from with many different options so that you can get what you're looking for, they're not picky about the meat and they're not trying to get rid of pieces that they don't want they let you choose your own which is very cool, one of the best looking butcher shops I've ever been to, the lighting in the ambience of the building is very very nice, I recommend this place to everybody. read more
