This review has been sitting in my drafts, but I wanted to finish it because I had so many positive experiences at this location. It was always clean and very beautiful with fresh food. I was in this neighborhood for about a year and regularly frequented this location on a daily basis. My children and I enjoyed the produce so much that it kept us pretty healthy. I first discovered one of my favorite desserts here, which is the tres leches cakes. So the bakery is just as amazing as the produce section. I never had a bad experience with any staff despite coming to this location as often as we did. I actually lost weight from eating so healthy despite treating myself and my children to the fresh tres leches cakes! There's ample parking in the covered garage and a nice dine-in area that we ate at often when we couldn't wait to dig into our items. read more

Publix is a big grocery store in downtown Tampa with free parking. The store was pretty big, well organized, crystal cleaned aisles and well stocked! This store has its own pharmacy. You can find great selection of food, fruits and veggies...value wise for some items they were promotions so overall it was a great short trip for us we found what we came for! read more

If you aren't eating Publix hot wings, you are missing out! We discovered these gems while at a hotel on the east coast, during an ugly rainy day. We spent the day at the pool, which was covered and decided to walk over to Publix, next door, for something to eat. We got regular wings that time and were so impressed with the flavor and texture. Since than this has become a regular occurring meal of getting Publix wings and picking up a frozen pizza. The last time and today we got the breaded Hot and Spicy and these are phenomenal! So much flavor, a good crunch, a tad bit of spice and overall enjoyable. I highly recommend the Publix wings for ypur next party, get together, or just a meal at home. read more

I shop at the new Publix that's just opened up on North boulevard in Tampa Florida. The store gives out free cups so the kids can get free water. The only thing is is the cups are very cheap and flimsy and as soon as you go to put the lid on it the whole cup collapses and there's a big mess on the floor. And also the water spigot or spout on the fountain is broken so after you get the water it doesn't stop so the water keeps going all of the floor fix it and you won't have a problem. But you think charging these kids for cupsit's going to solve your problem stop being cheap fix the spicket on the water and get better cups and you wouldn't have to have a big mess and you wouldn't have to charge for cups everything is so about money I hate it read more

I ordered a veggie wrap yesterday & when I bit into the 2nd half of my wrap I crunched down on something hard & to my suprise it was shaped like a seed or nut but very hard & it almost chipped my tooth. This was very unsafe & could of been alot worse & I was extremely concerned. So I reached out to publix & they had no so they explanation so they refunded me the price of the wrap & made me another one. Difficult to get to, you have to park in the garage and then take an elevator. Very noisy with constant music playing. Hot soup available. Friendly employees and a place to sit upstairs on the second floor if you bought food, you want to eat , but there are knives and spoons, but no forks. read more

Such a great staff and knowledgeable pharmacists'. Especially both pharmacists that work diligently to assist their patients with all their prescriptions needs. Moving was not easy about a year ago and they made the prescription transfers easy and smooth and made accommodations that were reasonable and satisfactory. We moved into this area nine years ago. This became our new grocery store. The staff is extremely polite and always greets you. The deli does an amazing job as does the prepared food department. The management team seems to also do a great job since the store is always impeccably clean and appealing to the eye. The only reason I removed is because the Bakery seems to struggle with overcooking the Cuban bread. I have brought it to the attention of the store manager and the bakery manager on a few occasions. The problem will be fixed for a week or two and then back to burned bread. Other than the Bakery department, the store is impressive and what you would expect from Publix. read more

THIS STORE AND THE STAFF IS AMAZING! My organization held a giveback event stuffing boxes of Hope for Metropolitan Ministries. The store manager, Billy, and his staff knocked it out of the park. Billy advance ordered the products. He helped us pick the best "deal" from the ads to stretch our donation dollars even further. The store held the groceries allowing us to pay the day before the event once all our donations had been collected. But here is where they went above and beyond.... We were all flying in from out of town, his staff delivered several truck loads to our conference hotel. Thanks to the generosity and hard work of the staff at the Channelside Publix we were able to build 300 Boxes of Hope food boxes. We could not have done this without their help! read more

Huge fan of this Publix and Publix subs. When I'm working in this neighborhood, I always stop in However, the last 2 times have been painfully slow! It's like the 2 women that work the sub counter smoked a pound of indica before arriving. What should be 5 minutes or less, with no line consistently, takes 15 minutes here. I'm so glad the Publix Supermarket at Channelside finally opened! This Publix Supermarket is the first large supermarket in downtown Tampa and was very badly needed as the closest supermarket in the area was a very small half sized Publix off Bayshore a couple miles from Downtown and definitely not within walking distance which caused a hurdle for those desiring to go car-free on the weekends. This downtown Publix is a good indicator that Downtown Tampa is getting better and better! This Publix is located off Lois and Meridian at the base of Channel Club High Rise Apartments and is next to Kennedy Grand Central, Bell Channelside, Ventana, Slade, The Place, The Fitzgerald, Crunch Fitness Gym, Maloneys Irish Pub, and the Hideaway Sushi Lounge. There is free parking located on the 2nd floor of the Channelside Club Apartments garage, a lounge for enjoying food on second floor, elevators, and stairs that take patrons down to the supermarket on the 1st floor. This Publix offers made to order sandwiches, salads, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, cookies, cakes, pies, cuts of fresh meats, cuts of fresh seafood, sushi, deli cuts, and other baked goods by the deli. I really like when the bakery department makes cakes for holidays and big events like hurricanes and football games. I like taking advantage of Publix's great bogo deals and half off sushi on Wednesday's! If i would make one suggestion, that would be for publix to add a hot food buffet bar like at Whole Foods! Everyone's been very nice and helpful on my visits to the store. I really like Publix's apple pie, Boston cream pie, chocolate chip cookies, boats head Salsalito turkey, and Cajun turkey. I cannot tell you how excited I was to see this store FINALLY open! When I was looking to move to Tampa, I heard the Publix in Channelside would be opening very soon. I moved in January, and saw it was slated to open at the end of the month. Then it was pushed to March. Then March passed and I began losing hope. I'd go by and the place was barren inside. But then one day, the sign went up, shelves went in, and I thought I might actually get to visit this Publix before I move out of Channelside after all! Finally opening day arrived -- right before Hurricane Dorian (they didn't have any hurricane cakes though... I checked). Several people were outside taking photos of the sign -- that's how happy we all are to have this store so close by! So yes, I went on opening day, but I wasn't there for hurricane supplies, I was just so glad I could finally WALK to Publix. I've walked here a few times now (because I can!) and have found the staff to all be quite friendly. I haven't yet had to wait in line at the deli or at checkout. Before, our nearest store was the Bayshore Publix, which is awful and tiny, with a smaller variety of options. This place is thankfully more spacious and less crowded -- and I know I'm not the only Channelside resident happy to not have to go to Bayshore anymore. I just wanted to praise Bastian and the team at the bakery. I placed an order for a heart shaped cake Wednesday, the day before thanksgiving for my friend's birthday on Friday, and they DELIVERED. The cake was gorgeous and tasted amazing. I wanted a black cake and Bastian gave me great recommendations to airbrush it so that the color of the cake would come out right without compromising the taste. This Publix is right in the downtown Tampa area and easy to walk to. The customer in the deli area in the quick and efficient and they store is very clean. I got the board head salad and asked the deli if they could give me some extra pickles and the were happy to do so read more

Only go to this Publix sandwich area if you have at least 40 minutes to wait. Tried to grab a sandwich for dinner here and the service was so incredibly slow. They had multiple people standing around, not offering to help a new worker who was clearly confused. We asked for the buccaneers sandwich and the worker didn't know what that was. It seemed like no one knew what they were doing and there was no sense of urgency although several customers were waiting. Publix truly makes the grocery shopping experience much more pleasurable. I was in the area for a few days and decided to stop by for some goodies to keep me stocked during my stay. The online deli ordering is phenomenal. They had my cuts ready for me upon arrival saving me plenty of time at the counter. The Beverly store was pristinely maintained. Plus, the customer service here is second to none so I was content during my visit. I found everything I needed and much more. It's great to take advantage of their bogo deals as they vary weekly. I scored some great steaks on sale so I also added the ingredients for the marínade and chimichurri it deserved. Plenty of selection in the wine department kept me contemplating certain bottles. The bakery had some fresh rye bread for my breakfast toast which sealed the deal. It truly is a pleasure shopping at Publix. read more

A year ago I stopped going to the deli there due the LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM! Once again I visited this Publix store that is waking distance from my condo, to get a sub. And surprisingly enough there was another very voicetress disgruntled deli worker complaining about her manager, and what she was going to do with him or her. I was ready to leave again but asked another Deli worker there to make my sub didn't her spitting in my sub. He did-and that nasty foul mouth kept mumbling under her breath. I live in a very nice place, Publix Channelside deli has some of worst employees there. I have been shopping at Walmart on Kennedy, by far that is a kind of bad area but the people are very friendly . Why do you keep hiring people that are going to give Publix a bad name. I have even gone to Britton Plaza to get a sub there to avoid going to Channelside Publix. It's seems like management doesn't care and keeps hiring people with no professionalism. This has been the 2nd time for me and I refuse to go back. I recommend anyone going to this deli to stay away , you don't want miserable people just there to make a pay check making your sub!! I love Publix! This new location is great and in such close proximity to my work! The grand opening was awesome and in true Publix form employees look happy and are very courteous and friendly. My only gripe with this store is the produce. 2 weeks ago I bought Bogo bags of those Fresh Express chopped salad kits- both were bad well before the expiration date. When I opened the first bag I thought it looked a little off and I tried putting it together and had to dump my salad. I went to look at the second bag in the fridge and it was in the same state as the one I threw out. I get these exact same bags of salad on a weekly basis from any of the 3 Publix locations in close proximity to my home in South Tampa and have never had this issue, in some cases the salads are still good a day or 2 after the expiration date. Fast forward to this week, I purchased a bunch of bananas on Wednesday - they looked perfectly yellow on the outside- in fact they looked like they needed more time before eating. Well the next day my partner goes to grab one to take to work with him and the perfectly yellow banana feels like mush. I am not quite sure how that is even possible, the skin looked perfectly unharmed but inside it felt like one of those squishy toys. We ended up dumping 3 of the 5 bananas in that bunch. I grabbed one of the "good bananas" and brought it to work with me and half of it was inedible despite looking perfectly ok. I figured I got a bad batch- in the trash they go. I just walked over to the same Publix again to get a new bunch of bananas to bring home and sure enough it wasn't me and my bunch! They have bananas sitting out that look perfectly yellow with a hint of green and when you touch them lightly or try to hold one it is like a squishy toy. I managed to find a small bunch that feel sturdy and I am hoping not to get burned again. I notified my cashier who suggested I got a bad bunch, I explained I thought the same thing but found that they still have bad ones on display. She asked if I wanted to talk to customer service about a refund, I graciously let her know I was ok and just wanted to notify them and purchase my new bananas. Make sure you double, triple, quadruple check your produce before purchase, or maybe just avoid produce at this Publix till they figure it out. I don't even know how it is possible for this to happen to a banana?!?!?!? Someone at my office suggested maybe they were frozen. I have no idea! read more

This Publix is overall awesome in terms of items being organized, well stocked, large store, etc. However the staff is terrible. Not sure where they hired these employees from but compared to the employees from Publix at Bayshore people are not friendly or helpful at all, every time I go I have a poor experience with the employees. Finally open!!!! I work close by so having a grocery store within walking distance is amazing. Not only can I pick up a few things before I head home, now I can get a sub any time I want, and sushi is only 5 bucks on Wednesday. The store is not quite as large as a normal Publix, but its still a full grocery store and has everything that I have needed. Employees are friendly and everything looks nice and new. Also, they cater so now we have another option for lunch at work, and its much less than some of the other sandwich places that cater. The word is out and sometimes the line for a sub at lunch is a little long, but pro tip, you can order online and it will be sitting there waiting for you. read more

We've given this location many attempts but find it to be one of our least favorites. Today's visit we grabbed Publix Fried Chicken and found it soggy and warm with the skin and coating sticking to the bottom of the carton. One of the breasts was actually a little pink I the center. Past visits gave us ground beef with bone bits (lots of bone). The deli seems to merge the number system and the let me write your order and come back later method. It's a nice store and we love the downtown location. We are hoping they improve or we will have to go elsewhere. read more

My friend was just discriminated against in this store. He tried to get a $2000 money order for his rent (for the building across the street) since his online portal isn't set up yet. First associate told the supervisor about the money order request, & he was overheard asking "what does he need the money orders for?" The Supervisor (Nathan I believe) approached my friend & began to ask him several unnecessary questions such as "what is the money order for? ...What bill are you paying" My friend looked confused and rightfully so, said "why are you asking me so many questions for a money order?" Then the supervisor refused to give him the money order saying my friend made him uncomfortable..WHAT??? my friend is the most mild mannered man I know. He is a businessman and deals with the public everyday so there is no way, not in any shape or form did he make anyone "uncomfortable" ... I only call "racism" when I'm sure that's the case, well I'm 100% sure that's the case here. Publix, you need to train your employees on how to treat people with more melanin in their skin. This is unacceptable. This whole ordeal caused him to miss his flight also. read more

I just purchased 3 WHOLE Publix Italian Subs. The young lady behind the counter asked me if I would like Cuban bread instead of white. I agreed as it looked the same. She then proceeded to say that she had to "toast it" because it was hard. WHAT?! However, I agreed and let her continue. She made 3 very basic Italian subs (just meat and bread). When I placed them in my cart I realized just how ridiculously hard they were. It was very disappointing. They were more than "stale". But another woman stated that "I could just microwave them" when I got home. Well let's be clear, $27 later and I have 3 VERY inedible sandwiches - even my teenage boys won't eat them. I can't believe that Publix staff felt that bread was acceptable to make sandwiches on. I am beyond disappointed with this store and the staff - and myself for even accepting these sandwiches. It's important to note that I was there at 7:50pm. The store closes at 10pm. There was a deli line of at least 10 customers behind me, yet only one person taking sandwich orders. Most of the work area had been "packed" away and 5 other staff members were "cleaning" in lieu of helping customers. Why claim to be open until 10pm if staff refuses to help customers or make edible sandwiches after 7:45pm!!! read more
