Publix food has always seem to surpass expectations! My husband especially love the apple pie which he claims is currently the best! That's a great compliment since it is his favorite dessert! I initially didn't understand the hype around Publix. For those of us in the Midwest/Southern states on the Midwestern border, it looks and feels a lot like Kroger. Albeit a bit more brightly lit. Couldn't tell if prices were more elevated than other grocery options. Seemed similar to Kroger and sometimes a mix of premium prices like what you get at Whole Foods. Produce section was small. Not a ton of apple types to choose from. Not something I'm used to. We only came to get fruits, snacks, and a jug of water. We completely skipped the sub section. A fellow Yelper suggested the subs, so you'll find me back here ordering one! Parking was easy peasy. You drive up into the parking garage. Not even all that busy for a Friday close to noon. Where was everyone at?!?! We found parking right by the escalator that takes you down to the grocery. I saw a lot of people bringing reusable bags with the Publix logo. Love that! There's also a special escalator you can put your grocery cart in, so it's not troublesome to bring it up to your car. Amazing! read more

I would never expect to sit in a wine bar in a Publix! They also had special sections for cheese, a huge bakery, coffee and gelato! They have about the same selection of groceries as a small Publix, it's the speciality spots that make this Publix extraordinary! Got a deli sub at this location, but had an experience that did not meet the high standard that Publix usually meets. I ordered the same sub that I usually do, but this time the sub looked completely different. I'm unsure if team member Iris was having a bad day, but the entire time she was helping with my order she seemed like she just did not want to be there. After asking to toast my sub, she actually left my sub inside the oven and proceeded to do other things and walk around. The oven actually had to be opened by another team member so the sub wouldn't actually burn and char more than it already did. read more

I grew up with Publix. I was the kid with my feet hanging out of the cart and then in turn my kids did the same. When Greenwise opened it was only natural for me to become a loyal customer here. Love the parking garage especially when our rainy season hits. As far as customer service goes Publix is on top of their game. The people are as nice and helpful as possible. They truly go above and beyond. They have a beautiful produce, seafood/meat and cheese section. The meat dept has the largest selection of upper end beef that I have ever seen. This is a phenomenal grocery store! Should I even call it that, though? I mean, this place has everything. A bakery that includes breads, custom cakes and pastries, fresh gelato, a salad bar, cheeses for all tastes - it's endless. There's a monster wine selection here, too, with buy-one get-one deals all the time. Good prices, too. Their butcher has a number of meats and poultry already marinaded or prepped to cook. I tried a sirloin cut marinaded in a garlic chipotle glaze that was scrumptious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The parking garage is above the store and covered, so no walking in the rain. There's also a special escalator just for your cart - how cool is that?!? This is Publix's answer to Whole Foods, and it's a great one at that. The employees are extraordinarily helpful and friendly! I am not a stickler on the "Greenwise" part of it...yet...I may change my mind, but as I visit this store more and more I will be paying more attention to those specific items. I just like how every time I'm there, someone asks me in the aisles if I'm finding everything ok. And there are times when I say no...and when I show someone what it is I am looking for, they don't wait for me to ask them to go find it or see if they have it somewhere in the store - they just do it! We'd never been to this South Tampa Publix before but I have to say, it's spectacular! We met the butcher at a Yelp event so we popped in to get some steaks and sausage for the barbecue grill. It's the best grocery store for everything but groceries. --- --- --- It'd be like if the iPhone 5 was able to teleport matter over FaceTime, drive your car and go to the gym for you....but it struggled to make calls. Publix Greenwise has everything under the sun; a hot food buffet, salad bar, gelato counter, full sandwich bar, an extensive bakery, pasta bar, an in-house event planner (!), a sushi chef, 4x the normal amount of steak/chicken/beef (including Kobe Beef) and more cheese than you could fit into the entire city of Seminole. What holds Publix Greenwise back is that it's not a practical place for doing your actual grocery shopping. Because most products in here are organic/green, it's impossible to find all of your normal supplies that you'd get from a regular Publix. I had a Garlic Steak Sandwich with Mac-n-Cheese during my last visit. It was surprisingly not great. That being said, I would absolutely go back for lunch or dinner again because there is a vast selection of choices. What's not to like about riding down an escalator to get into a grocery store? My go-to lunch spot! You can get everything from sandwiches, salad, sushi, pizza, Chinese food, BBQ or burgers here. Most days I am in a rush and just grab some sushi or make a salad, but when I have time I'll get the chicken quesadilla. The 10 minute wait is completely worth it! In my pre-wedding madness, I completely forgot to order a wedding cake. Less than two weeks before my wedding day, and after being turned away by other bakeries due to the short notice, I called the Publix catering team at the Hyde Park location. Amanda and Ciara both did a wonderful job of quickly putting together a tasting and getting my order in. The order had to be transferred to another location, which they did with no problem, checking to make sure the other location could fulfill the order and delivery. Ultimately Sarah at the Boot Ranch location took care of my order. She called me prior to the wedding to confirm details and my three-tiered cake turned out exactly as I wanted it. This Publix has a great, expanded lunch area. Similar to Whole Foods, there is a salad bar, a hot food bar, soups, subs and other sandwiches made to order and more. There is sushi too, but it is over in the fish section of the store. Anyway, whatever you choose, you can eat it there at one of the tables, or get it to go. Unlike Whole Foods, it is easy in and easy out of the parking lot. Because it is between Howard and Armenia, it is easy to get to from 275 and my job in Ybor. When I go over to the Target/Whole Foods complex getting in and out can be murder. It takes much less time going here, which means I have more time to enjoy my lunch. This was the first time I had food from the hot food bar, I tried a couple different Asian style dishes and they were all pretty good. One complaint my friends and I had was that there was no sauce for the egg rolls. They do have condiments over by the drinks, but they did not have anything that would go on egg rolls or hot sauce (there was ketchup, mustard, salt pepper and of all things, grape jelly.) We sat outside and it was really nice because the landscaping blocks the road. I frequently hit the Publix on Platt Street because they have a lot of fresh, pre-made salads and sushi for lunch, and I can always pick up a few groceries and keep them in the fridge at work so I don't have to stop after work. However, I think we are going to start going to this store a little more because my friend really liked it as well. I would say if you work in and around Ybor, South Tampa or even downtown, this is a good option. read more

Compared to other Publix stores in the area, Publix Greenwise has a large selection of organic or higher-end food products. The prices can be a little higher for some items so it's a good idea to get those non-speciality items elsewhere. I love that there is a parking garage. It makes shopping in the rain considerably less wet. They also have a hot food bar that serves some fairly tasty foods. The bakery produces wonderful treats however I have struggled with the service there every time I've come to buy from them. I can give high marks to Jen in the event planning department as she helped me make my daughter's birthday cake a reality! I did an online pub sub order for lunch I'm very fortunate to have a Publix on the campus of the University I work at (Publix @ USF) . Ordered my usual Jerk turkey on white mountain bread (if you know ,then you know) a whole sub is usually 4 slices of bread ,today I got 2 slices of bread which is considered a half of sub. I had a coworker pick up my lunch on the way in this morning, so I didn't see the sub until lunch time . I called the deli manager and asked her about the size of my sub and she proceeded to tell me I need to order in person to get the 4 slices of bread (which is considered a whole) ad if I order online you only get 2 slices. So Publix I need you to be consistent across the board. I paid $10 for a half of a sub and didn't even offer to complete my sub by making the second half.
