Stop by Publix for the kids to get some popcorn chicken, it was being made for us so we waited a little bit while we were waiting. We headed over to the Texmex side where you can get tacos and burritos. Unfortunately, they don't have a lot of people working in this area so we had to wait before someone noticed us. Luckily the lady who helped us was super nice, She made my tacos perfectly. She would ask me if I wanted more or less when it came to toppings. Once we got the tacos, we walked over to the deli and our order was ready. Check out was a breeze and we ended up eating upstairs in the seating area. The food was pretty good other than the taco shells being stale, but not bad for the price. I've been in here a few times and it's only gotten better and better. They now have a bar with beer and wine on tap. Not only that they have açaí bowls , craft soda, along with shakes and smoothies. Very attractive, new Publix with lots of prepared food options. I had heard that Publix now offered a Chipotle-style Mexican food bar, and I was curious. I arrived at noon, and there was no line (there was a line at the deli, though). I opted for a custom bowl. The actual bowl was pretty much identical to the bowls used at Chipotle, although it had a plastic top rather than a foil top. I opted for the chili lime rice, the black beans, the chicken verde, pico de gallo, pickled onions jalapenos, cheese and cilantro. The food wasn't piping hot, but it was hot enough. The pickled onions were too sweet. Everything else was pretty unremarkable, and frankly, as the price point is similar to Chipotle, I'd prefer to go to Chipotle. This Publix also has a wine/beer bar, and pizza area, and sushi bar, in addition to the deli with hot and cold foods. And it's a grocery store! Would I come back here for lunch? No, probably not. I prefer to make my own lunch or go out to a proper restaurant. But it's a nice grocery store in its own right. read more

This Publix is huge! The employees have always been so helpful and point me in the right direction to whatever it is that I need. It has a salad bar, pizza bar, burrito bar and so much more! There is always drama involved in any cake order we place at this store and it's truly inexcusable, especially when the orders can be made rather seamlessly online. The typical scenario is "oh we don't have that order, and don't know what happened" even though we present the confirmation e-mail to them. After about five minutes of profusely stating "I cannot explain what happened, but it isn't here" one of the bakery staff members heroically waltzes out from an area or freezer in the back with the cake, as though they just miraculously created it. The whole thing is absolutely absurd but happens so consistently that I cannot help wondering if this is some kind of "skit" these people are told to perform for custom cake orders. Unacceptable regardless of what it is, will avoid this store as much as possible. read more

This Publix location went viral because of their vast selection of food and drink options that you can't find in other locations! While in Tampa, my husband and I had to stop by! We went around 11 am and came across the Publix Pours bar where you can order items such as smoothies, açaí bowls, alcoholic beverages like craft beers! I got a small tropical smoothie that consisted of fresh fruit with no sugar added. This was refreshing but keep in mind that this is no Jamba Juice since there is no added sugar. Next, I saw the pizza station which seems to be self serve as their was no employee there when I went. They had individual pizza boxes out so you can choose from a variety of 4 pizzas and place it in a box. I went with a classic cheese pizza and another Alfredo sauce style cheese pizza. 2 slices are about $6 dollars. The pizza itself was a complete miss for me. It tasted like it was sitting out for hours and the lack of sauce just tasted bland. I would avoid. We went over to the Mexican food station where here they make burritos, tacos, and nachos. I wanted to get an item but the employee was on her phone and then left the area. Since we did not want to flag another employee down, we skipped this but next time I would give this a try as they have a chipotle style them where you can pick your fillings! There is also a sushi station but our local Publix has the same offering so we skipped that. Next, we saw the popcorn counter where they make fresh popcorn and they have a variety of flavors that you can pick from. We went with cookies n cream popcorn as well as the cheesy popcorn. The cookies n cream popcorn was delicious! Each popcorn is coated with the Oreo mixture and there's even pieces of oreos in the popcorn bag. Definitely my favorite flavor! The cheesy popcorn was really good and coated heavily with the cheese flavor. It did not disappoint. My husband got some chicken wings and loved the quality! Near the bakery, you will find a variety of fresh bread. We picked out an onion Asiago bread loaf as our local Publix does not have this. It was just okay as we could not taste the Asiago flavor and the bread tasted like regular sourdough bread. Overall, this was an awesome Publix and I wish every location had the unique food and drink selection. We would be back if we are in the area again. read more

I have shopped at this Publix for over 40 years, I live a block away and like to eat fresh so I visit the store daily, I like to get a sandwhich or something from the hot side of the deli. I know pretty much a lot of the people that work at the store. I recently had a bad experience in the deli, that has made me question if I want to spend my hard earned money with people that aren't friendly, as a matter of fact very rude, Publix had an asst mgr in the deli that during busy times, he would jump in and help the line make sandwiches, unfortunately he was transferred to a different store and a new asst manager"Miranda", took over for him, the decline in service and friendliness immediately declined, where the previous asst deli manager would jump in and help out, Miranda is completely comfortable leaning her portly rear end against a wall and watch everyone work. On one visit there was some young dude named Alex, that was having a very bad day, he kept grumbling about making my sandwich, acting like it was a bother to make my sandwich, and had an attitude with me, I spend too much money at Publix to be treated like this, I asked to speak with a manager, and the portly asst mgr Miranda came over to talk with me, I told her what happened, she listened half assed, and gave me the impression that she could care less, but said she would take care of it. Upon my next visit thissub par guy Alex was making my sandwich and kept grumbling about the last time he made my sandwich, I spend 300 or 400$ a week at Publix, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna have some punk talk disrespectfully to me, again I asked to speak to a mgr, and again I was approached by the portly asst manager Miranda, who told me that the young man with the attitude and the poor sandwich making skills, that he didn't want to make my sandwiches anymore, and that I should tell someone else to make my sandwiches. I will never get a sandwich from this Publix again, I spoke with the asst store Manager who apologized and said just stay away from them. They have cameras everywhere, they should watch these people and transfer them to someplace in the store where they have no contact with the public, or fire Alex the sandwich maker and Miranda the portly asst deli mgr. GET RID OF THEM. Their hot food side of the deli is no better, they constantly have the exact same things never anything different, recently I got a mojo pork dinner, when I got home and began to eat my dinner, the mojo pork was so sour it was inedible and I threw it away, the next day I spoke with the asst store mgr. Joyce about it and she offered to replace it, very kind of her, I got a chicken tender meal with mashed potato's and green beans, the tenders were fresh and very good, the potato's looked like they had been our for a while and maybe needs o be stirred up, the green beans were terrible and tasted like they came right out of a can and were made with hose water. With the nasty attitudes, the boring flavorless even bad tasting food, I will never again waste my money buying crap like this from Publix or dealing with the portly asst mgr Miranda or the rude sandwich maker Alex, treat yourself and go to another store where you don't have to deal with nasty attitudes or sub par boring nasty food. read more

This is definitely the best Publix I've been to in my life. I know it's new and I've been hearing all the rave on social media about it. So I had to check it out. They have a wing bar, pizza, ramen, rice bowls, popcorn bar and a real bar that serves beers and wine. Publix is on another level. Even with all the new things Publix have added I still ordered a Chicken Tender Sub lol. I swear it's undefeated. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the deli area had a lot of people working but somehow they still managed to be pretty slow. Sanitation break down. When entering, or anywhere there are no sanitation cloths or forms of sanitizer protection for hand held baskets or carts. Four staffers were wiping cart handles, with one rag for hundreds of carts. The worst part, they would dip the used towels and hands into "SAN-10" buckets that don't protect for the new virus. Unprofessional and mismanaged, sadly it can be said about many stores. Though I should mention Walmart has sanitation stations. Hopefully they can fix this situation. I grew up being Publix-loyal and continue to be loyal to Publix. There are 2 within a mile of my house and couldn't be happier. This particular location has been my location of choice and believe this one's layout and offerings are more than sufficient. I have even found more recently with higher demand for gluten free products and more healthy options, they have stepped up and stocked some different options in both of these areas. I order bakery and deli specialties, I request special things from the meat counter, the staff is always very nice and usually very helpful. I am not a fan of the fish counter, I don't find the fish to be very good...and when I've requested a certain brand of black beans, they've ordered/stocked them and have continued to keep them stocked! When the Diet Rite white grape flavor was all of a sudden missing from the shelves, I requested to order those and received a call stating that they don't produce it anymore. Any time you have a question, you will find someone to help. The store is clean, it is easy to find times to go when it is not crazy busy and again the convenience of where it's located is a huge plus. The cakes made by Publix are AWESOME and their desserts are really great. Some of my traditional faves here are the carrot cake bar, the chocolate tres leche (I don't even like tres leche) and the eclairs. The turnovers (cherry or apple) heated in the toaster over are great too! Very happy with this store overall and typically don't shop anywhere else. read more

This is the best Publix so far in all the area ! Super clean and organized store! Everything looked extremely fresh! they have a variety salad bar , cooked food bar like Whole Foods or fresh market , a variety soups bar , big spaces , huge cafeteria, and seating area on the second floor, plus a bar ! Yes ! A bar ! You can even have a beer ! My first time experiencing this at a Publix ! You can come here for breakfast or lunch , the store is very spacious, more than 6 cashiers at checkout, no lines at all , cashiers very attentive at all times making sure no customer is waiting such a great service . Everyone was very helpful and polite! Amazing staff ! , excellent ambiance and customers around, I'm guessing this is a very good neighborhood, people seemed very professional plus some young university students . I felt the most comfortable at this store . The parking lot is very big easy to access, target and Starbucks next door super convenient! It was such a great experience! This is now my official Publix store to go no matter if I have to drive half an hour to get here is totally worth it! My husband and I came to came last weekend to do grocery shopping at Walmart. When we were done, I told him we needed to go to Target just up the street for somethings and when we get back to St. Pete, we need to go to our favorite Publix on 4th & 38th Ave. We pulled into the center and saw Publix 1st. He said let go in here 1st. Well all I can say is, we never made it into Target! We walked into what looked like a mini food mall! The variety of everything you could possibly want is right there! My husband looked at me and said " Christmas just came early"! This is an amazing store for sure. We will be coming across the bridge now each week to do our shopping. We spoke with the store manager and he told us this was one of the originals! From the Sushi Bar, Pizza Bar, POPCORN BAR!, Sandwhiche Bar, Coffee Bar, Wine Bar. There is even a place inside and out to sit and enjoy lunch or just a good cup of coffee to relax! I can go on and own! I really can't wait till the Holidays to see the decorations! Honestly the worst Publix in Tampa. Isles are small and no one follows directional signs, not even employees. Staff are not helpful or friendly. Today at checkout the cashier accidentally opened a pre-made meal and her finger touched the food. She wiped her finger off and continued to bag the item. I asked for a refund and she told me she couldn't do that. Another staff member went to get a new one, but I just left after standing there waiting for 10 minutes. Deserves zero stars. If you think this is a great Publix, you obviously lack experiences with other local stores. I won't be returning. read more

This is a pretty nice Publix though I find its layout a tad confusing for some reason. Maybe it's just me, but I find it kind of hard to find things at this particular location sometimes. That being said, this Publix is still pretty nice and has a really good selection of items when you can find them. The bakery is top-notch and there is even a hot food bar! Always a plus. I love hot food bars. There is also an olive bar! Nearby is a Target and a Starbucks which makes this location pretty convenient for running errands, which is probably why I find myself here most of the time. It's still a pretty great Publix. Mgmt at this location really handled last weeks sale on canned Coke items poorly! Store running a BOGO on 12 pks were out of All flavors except Sprite! The isle looked like a Toilet paper isle totally empty. Asked a stocker, he was useless. Went to Customer Service to ask for a Rain-Check. The stand-in Mgr (not one of the photos of their Mgrs on the wall) , says they aren't doing Rain-checks due to Covid-19! WHAT? No apologies, just gave a bunch of excuses without any solutions! One guy even shared saying that there was an aluminum shortage! If you can't meet the demand of a Sale then Coca-Cola Company shouldn't put it on sale! And really Publix blaming the pandemic so you can release yourselves of obligation to support your loyal customers is in poor taste and frankly not good Customer Service! This is one of my favorite publix stores. I love this publix mostly due to the salad bar and hot bar that they have in the back right of the store. I go to many publix stores regular for the service and fresh produce. This store is clean, has a good layout, and I always find what I'm looking for, right away. They even have ice cream/ cafe in the front right of the store near the floral area. Living close the the bayshore publix, which is probably one of the worst due to the selection and size, it is a treat to go to the gandy publix. The bakery is great! I get lunch from the salad bar every week too. I highly recommend this publix location! read more

The Publix in my childhood neighborhood will always be the best one to me. This is also the place where I got my first Boar's Head Italian Publix sammich, and what a sammich it was! On my Italian sammich scale, this one has to be a 4.5. The meats, cheeses and veggies are always incredible fresh. They make so many sandwiches daily, so you know your tomatoes, lettuce onions etc. haven't been sitting around long before then end up on your sub. "I don't like Publix's bread," says no one, EVER. We ALL know they have some of the best deli sandwich bread in this quadrant of the Milky Way, so don't try to deny it. I rarely do actual shopping at Publix these days, so I can't comment on price competitiveness and availability of products. This Publix is convenient for where I live and the employees on the floor are outstanding. However, every single time we order subs online at this location we are super disappointed. Stale bread, the wrong cheese, missing items, globs of mayo or mustard left unspread, the end parts of the tomatoes (with stem), sloppily thrown together and smushed into a bag. Tonight, my sub is inedible. The bread is so stale it is crumbling and sounds hollow. Publix is known for their excellent subs but this particular publix isn't meeting the expectation. It's happened EVERY. SINGLE. TIME at this location. It's really too bad because the cashiers, the baggers, and the floor associates are extremely helpful and friendly. The people in all departments do a great job - the sub counter, however, is the absolute worst. I'm so disappointed. It's time to start going to the Publix off of Dale Mabry. read more

I must admit that I do most of my shopping a markets, I prefer the fresh and locally grown goods. When I need necessities i will visit, on a need to go basis. One of the things that really stand out about my local Pulix is it's employees. When I visit from the moment I walk into the store I am greeted with a barrage of smiles and "Good Day's" their staff is the reason I go back. Perks of this location: Target next door and Starbucks in the parking lot, but most important, this location is usually not too crowded so you get in and out very quick. Also, because it usually not too crowded, this location is usually well stocked. Publix generally has amazing deli meats and amazing fried chicken. I will also swear by their kitty litter and ginger ale. This location is a bit older, but it is currently the location I frequent most often for big full out grocery trips. The Dale Mabry location is slightly more convenient, but the crowded parking lot if very frustrating to me. I love Publix. It is a premier grocery store. I laugh to think about how much Publix stands apart from the Kroger chains I am used to from growing up in Michigan. Love this store! Good variety of products, friendly staff, easy returns. Rarely am I more than the second in line. Prices are good, especially if you buy Publix brands, which I find equal and often times better than name brands. Extra special benefit: Their scale! Being from SoFlo, I have shopped at Publix my entire life, however this is the friendliest Publix I have ever been in! I am new to Tampa, and I have been in this Publix 3 times. The customer service here so far has been stellar! I have been greeted and told " have a nice day" each and every time! Recently, on 11/11/2020, at around 7pm, during the ETA storm, I ran in quickly to pick up a couple items, and forgot my mask, however I had my jacket covering my face but had to hold it up, therefore my hands weren't free to shop. A manager, a tall, younger looking gentleman so kindly gave me a mask so I could shop "hands free", and still stay Covid Compliant. He could see I was struggling. I thought that was so nice of him.
