There was no way when we arrived and we were seated outside, where we wanted to sit with a dog that we were pet sitting. We got Super Tuscan, our choice of appetizer with meatballs. I actually didn't love the meatballs. Supposedly it was three different types of meat, but I couldn't tell the difference and they weren't my favorite. The sauce was good though. We got the Honeymoon pizza which is one of my favorites. The hot honey is amazing on pizza. I also really like the Lucia. I love the outside area and service is great. It's just a feel good place with good food!

One star for the building space and drink I had, but the incompetent, bratty bartender, Katy/Katie (or however Gen Z spells it these days), completely ruined the experience. My Club Domino cocktail was good, but I was put off by how Katie handled the order of my friend and the man that sat beside her when they ordered a drink that apparently had to come from the other bar. Multiple times they stopped her to ask about the status of their drinks over30-45min time span before she finally checked and shrugged it off as the other bar hadn't started on the drinks and told them that they were more than welcome to continue to wait. We declined since we had somewhere else to be in the area and asked that the order be cancelled. Once we finished the cocktails we had, we patiently waited in our seats at the bar to ask for our tabs. Katie never made an attempt to check on us so while she was at the POS, we asked her to give us our checks to pay for. She looked at us and nodded but went back to taking more drink orders of other patrons standing around the bar. Now, as someone who has served and has common sense, a customer asking for their tab would indicate to me that they owe me money and intend to leave soon. As a server with common sense, I would use that instance while in the POS system to print out the receipts. But not Katie. She decided to egregiously ignore us and address the customers beside and around us but never addressed us to attend to our needs in any form or fashion. We left and went to the event we were supposed to be attending in the area. We came back less than two hours later to hopefully, finally pay and Katie had the nerve to act like her crappy attitude and service was ok because she was busy. You're a bartender being supported by a second bartender and a bar back on a Saturday night- it sounds like you don't need to be a bartender or in hospitality. There was no apology or an acknowledgment that it is never okay to intentionally skip over customers you think aren't important enough to tend to because you had to put in four drink orders at once. Going back to my experience in hospitality, if you can't simply do your job/multitask-ask for a card to start a tab at the beginning of the order or when you start to feel busy. Worst case, the tab is paid for either way. Katie kept doubling down about her sh!tty behavior when my friend explained the issue and even tossed the check folder at us. We paid for the drinks we had earlier, left no tip and took our money to another establishment in the area. If that's how Giancarlo's unrepentantly treats customers, I'll take great pleasure in seeing "closed permanently" by their name in the near future.

That history and loyalty is exactly why yesterday's experience was so disappointing. Yesterday, we were celebrating my mother's 64th birthday, and I chose Casa Santo Stefano because of the superior service I've received in the past, the excellent quality of the food, and because my company,, typically books Casa Santo Stefano for events and has never given me reason to doubt the brand. Unfortunately, my experience with my family yesterday was more than disappointing. Valerio dropped the ball in so many ways at our table. We repeatedly went without water, at times for more than 10 minutes, and I was constantly looking around for him. My mother's Moscow Mule took approximately 20 minutes to arrive. When I jokingly asked if he had gone to Moscow to get it, he told me they "didn't have any cups." That was difficult to believe when the drink was clearly sitting there long enough for the cup to become heavily sweated and the ice to melt. I also began noticing that Valerio seemed far more attentive to a table of 10 young women who had just arrived. He was taking their photos, laughing with them and engaging with them, while our table was repeatedly forgotten. The situation with dessert was particularly upsetting because it was my mother's birthday. Valerio asked whether we had seen a dessert menu, and I told him we had not. As I got up to speak with the manager, a kids' ice cream dessert was brought to our table instead. We wanted to look at the dessert menu, order a few things, and have the restaurant sing Happy Birthday to my mother. That simple experience was completely missed, and it was something we had genuinely been looking forward to. On top of everything, the air conditioning was not functioning properly in the restaurant, which made an already uncomfortable experience even more difficult. I appreciate the manager Ty, giving my mother a box of cookies and a handwritten card from the staff as we were leaving. Unfortunately, by that point, the damage had already been done. What bothered me most was that Valerio never seemed to appreciate the significance of the occasion, never apologized for the repeated service issues, and ultimately dropped off the check and walked away. I simply do not understand how this happened, particularly on a day when the restaurant was not even especially busy. I believe Valerio needs additional training and guidance, particularly in the level of hospitality and attentiveness expected from a restaurant carrying the 1905 Family of Restaurants name. I want to emphasize that I am not writing this because I have turned my back on the brand. Quite the opposite. I am writing because I have been loyal to this brand for more than two decades, I genuinely believe in what the 1905 Family of Restaurants represents, and yesterday's experience fell so far below that standard that I feel compelled to say something. My mother's 64th birthday only happens once, and unfortunately, instead of leaving with another wonderful 1905 memory, we left disappointed.
