Beef crispy flat noodles, shrimp fried rice, and egg noodle soup

Food is amazing! Well deserved the pricings (my bad for the late pictures me and my family were busy eating), filling too! Service was casual and nice, and ambiance is also causal too, very chill! Would go again when I have the time

Was craving bop chien and heard this place is good for it! It came out quickly and was suuuper hot. I think they deep fry the rice cakes first then cook it with the eggs. It was super crispy and tasty. The sauce was also really good!! It was pretty quiet for a Thursday afternoon, but its a big space and probs fills up later. Would come again for this and for ther foods!

This place got pretty busy around 12:30pm (Monday) so I would suggest getting here earlier to avoid the rush. It was our first time and we all got the Wonton Noodle soup that comes with bbq pork, shrimp and pork wontons and egg noodles. It was good but I've definitely had better. The broth needed a tad more flavor. We also shared the rice flour cake with egg, which was ok as well but I'll probably just get it this one time. Hao Hao is a solid spot for authentic Vietnamese food. It seems as if it's been around for a while and no one smiles and gives you exceptional customer service so you know it's legit. It's very clean inside and their fish are nice to look at.

Our favorite place for some comfort foods. Love their wonton noodles soup & mi vit tiem! Spacious place with fast service.

Excellent take out. One of the only places in town that does ap chao! Food was delicious.

Been here a few times and the food is mediocre but will satisfy my belly. The service is not that great. My bf loves the banh bot chien because they come out extra crispy. It simple and I like the fact they open a little late. Wish they had more vegetarian options though.

Another favorite stop for Chinese-Vietnamese food! They used to be located across the street on Cook Rd until they relocated to their new current location two years ago. The space throughout the restaurant is a bit bigger and the restrooms were not too bad compared their old Cook locations. From eating here earlier this morning, I think they changed owners and have new cooks and some new servers. Our go-to here is always bánh bột chiên, which is my 2nd favorite after Tan Tan on Bellaire and this time it was good and crispy and worth to die for! After trying the general tso's chicken, crispy shrimp w/ a side of sweet and sour garlic sauce, and fried rice w/ shrimp and salted fish, I wanted to try their bún thịt nớng chả giò after being in a mood to have some of it. The vermicelli bowl is good and the grilled pork was good w/ enough fat in it. I will still try to come back here next time my family and I drive down to Bellaire! :)

Haven't been here for awhile but I've been visiting lately and the food isn't bad. I think they have one of the best bánh bột chiên and fried rice in Houston. The food isn't as oily and is quite flavorful.

Large mi wonton in the back, small mi wonton in the front. Banh bot chien and pickled green papaya as apps. Get the banh bot chien

Great little spot. Everyone wore masks and people were socially distanced. Clean inside the restaurant. Food was fresh and wasn't a long wait. We ordered the mi hoanh thanh (mi wonton) and a banh bot chien. -Mi hoanh thanh had a clean broth, but we like the broth at phanh ky and pho hai van more. Wontons were tasty. I think it was shrimp and pork filling. They were generous with wontons which I appreciated. Still good bowl of mi hoanh thanh nonetheless. -Banh bot chien is their specialty and a must get. Very crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Not soggy or oily. The outside layer stayed crunchy even towards the end of our meal. Lots of fried shallot and fresh scallions on top. Comes with a side of shredded pickled green papaya. I loved the combination together! Dipping sauce was the sweet vinegar soy sauce that typically comes with banh bot chien. We will be back to try other stuff.

Review is about safety the food was delicious. Well we came last week when we arrived everything seemed normal we ordered with the waiter who was wearing a mask go right. Then the owner brings are food with a big smile on his unmasked face I gambled and stayed. Then saw others working had removed there mask I guess because we didn't complain well we shouldn't have to should we. Come on it's a matter of public safety and protection of others from thous who may be infected wearing mask does little to protect yourself. Unfortunately we have had this experience three times this week will be reviewing on the other places as well.

I came here quite some time ago for dinner with a friend and we were promptly seated. The menu has a wide array of dishes (soups, pho, noodles, rice, etc) and I had no trouble finding something I liked. I ordered the Garlic Spicy Chicken while my friend got a vermicelli dish. I asked if they had Thai tea and they said they had it bottled. When it came out they had put it in a glass of ice for me. The Thai tea didn't taste fresh (of course) and it wasn't my favorite. My food came out within 10 minutes. We waited for my friend's food as I hate eating before everyone has gotten their food. It took a while to come out, about 10-15 more minutes. It would have been nice if our food could have come out together. The food was good however. I enjoyed my chicken dish and there was SO MUCH food. I had leftovers for another meal or two. My friend also enjoyed her vermicelli. Our servers were kind and we had a good experience.

I feel like every Vietnamese food newcomer should try the Bot Chien

The got nice wall art too, depicting the popular dishes from the north so I had my expectation and hopes up. Service is ordinary, she speaks little English but can get by ordering, we order first at the counter the sit anywhere. Braised egg is 2 for $3.50, salty but expected since it's marinated. Came out steaming hot, and yolk was not overly cooked and dry, not bad. Starting with the Chinese hamburger I felt sad and know not to expect too much from the other dishes we ordered. First the meat look different than what others have posted before, and it was kinda dry and too salty to eat. There was no other spice, only the meat juice flavor. The bun they use was stale to eat. Traditional way of making this should be the flaky oily pancake, or at least make the buns softer to eat. The mutton stew was clear and very heartwarming to drink on a cold day. But the portion is super small for the price. The glass noodles were gone in literally two bites. I had none to share with my boyfriend. This dish come with the burger bun too that you can soak them in the soup so I guess this is the extra carb make up for the less noodles. Oil splash noodle is their specialty? It was good but didn't wowed me. Noodles are chewy and well cooked, came with lots of bean sprouts. The sauce is flavorful and actually not too oily which I enjoyed more. You can add the beef for an extra charge, it's the regular braised beef, was just ok. I find it funny that their all food arts on the wall look nothing like the actual way they serve it.

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

On the table was a holder with chopsticks, soup spoons and napkins. It was a chilly, blustery day - I so enjoyed the Henan-style lamb with noodles soup! Three kinds of noodles: wide, hand-pulled with a nice chew; thin, textured tofu; crystal. Happy with the two quail eggs. There was a nice amount of wood ear fungus, kelp? and fresh cilantro. The lamb was tender and the broth flavorful. I saved half of the soup for dinner and chowed down on the pork bun. It was hot and toasty from the bun being grilled. She immediately asked what we wanted in a rude tone, which set an uncomfortable atmosphere from the start. There was a sign on the table advertising a "free appetizer" if you take a photo and tag the restaurant on social media. I followed the instructions exactly as stated, but when I mentioned it, the server initially refused to honor the promotion. After I pointed out the sign, she appeared upset and walked away. I saw she went to speak to another employee and cracked a smiled and looked over. She later returned and offered a small discount instead. The issue wasn't about the money or the discount, it was the principle. The promotion was clearly advertised, and I simply followed the restaurant's own policy. It was disappointing to feel like the restaurant was reluctant to honor something they were actively promoting. I hope management addresses this because customer service and consistency with advertised promotions make a big difference in the overall dining experience.
