Really want to love this place because it's close to home and they created what could be a great dining destination. It offers nice ambiance with the airplane hangar theme, massive wine barrel booths, great indoor lighting, beautiful outdoor space and they offer live music some evenings. The music schedule changes from week to week so you have to check out their social media updates. The crafted cocktail (spicy watermelon margarita) was good, not great but served in a pretty glass and looked delicious etc. Their emphasis was on the heat, which overpowered the watermelon flavor.i think if it had been shaken it might have been a bit better The tacos had great flavor, but were missing about another full portion of toppings. Way overpriced for what you get. We made a gentle comment simply to provide feedback to the kitchen, and the waiter was kind and brought us more chips and queso. Nice gesture but didn't make up for the lack of meat. We saw some other nacho plates going out to a large table. One looked right on target of what we were expecting for our own table, plenty of toppings. The other plate looked like ours. Need some kitchen quality control. Also had the That My Jam sliders. The meat was a bit greasy and overcooked for me. I was there on a Friday evening, the bar area was not packed while we were there (from 7-8:30). The outdoor space was booked only until 8. The owners seem to own the space next door (Momos) equally beautifully designed inside. Seems the efforts were put into creating pretty spaces which they get 5 stars for, but the food could use some attention. I'd leave 2 stars for food. (I have been here before and was equally unimpressed with a salmon entree). 5 stars for ambiance, so going with 3 stars since it's clean, good ambiance, great outdoor space and have music.
Came here for a birthday dinner with a large party of 17. We made reservations in advance and came right at their opening time at 4pm. Due to our party size it did take a bit longer to get through dinner service but overall I think they were able to handle a large party well. Plenty of free parking available in the lot outside of the restaurant. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. There was a live music in the outdoor space. Inside they have some very cool barrel booth seating. For drinks. I tried their Supernova champagne. I was disappointed that it ended up sounding a lot tastier than it was. It was simply champagne with a couple of strawberries in it. There was a blood orange drink and a dish with scallops that was unavailable. Which was a little disappointing and shocking for the beginning of the food service and on a Saturday. Their menu has a lot of different types of food. From sushi to burgers, so there's something for everyone. I tried the fish tacos which were just okay. Unfortunately nothing too spectacular about them. I also got to try their hummus appetizer and that was pretty good alongside the warm pita served with it. We were celebrating a birthday and able to bring in our own birthday cake.
My wife and I have been here twice and I can say with certainty that we will be here many more times. The atmosphere is unique in that they have booths that are formed as if you are sitting in a cut out section of an extremely large barrel. It makes for a very private dining experience which is perfect for a date night. They have a patio and live music outside and we are looking forward to spending some time there when the weather becomes more fall like. Noel was our server both times we were there and she provided fantastic service and recommendations on the menu. We've had the potstickers, the Nachos, Carne Asada Tacos, Nachos (with Carne Asada meet instead of Ground Beef - thank you Noel for this suggestion), one of the salads and a Crab Roll. The food here is delicious, I would say the Nachos with Carne Asada meat is the best Nachos I've ever had and I would consider just getting this for an entrée. The apps are very shareable and getting a bunch of those and splitting them would be a great way to explore the menu. Bravo Hanger Kitchen Plus Bar, I'm a big fan of yours.
Visited Hangar with a group of about 12 for my friends birthday dinner. Definitely an overall pleasant experience. Here are my thoughts: -Ambiance: 9/10 - when I walked in, I was greeted by the friendliest staff I've experienced in quite a while. I love the booths that they have, they remind me of cute wooden hamster wheels . The soft music in the background was also good and perfect for conversation. -Service: 9/10 - server was attentive, kind and even went above when I spilled my drink . She was consistent throughout the evening. The only thing I'll say is towards the end it started to get a bit slower - but maybe that's because the restaurant got busier. -Food & Drinks: 8/10 - the food was fresh and quite delicious. We had a few dishes but I got photos of the pasta, short rib, cod tacos, and my drinks. The food was seasoned well, the short rib was cooked perfectly even if it wasn't the most seasoned. The cod tacos were delicious! The crab rangoon was interesting, seemed like it needed more filling but the sauce made it delightful. The fact that they were able to do so well with a large group was very impressive. It was a great time and I would definitely go back. Perfect little date night spot too.
Every time I go here it is an experience! Apps with a friend -- this is your place, drinks and din -- this is your place, dessert -- this. is. your. PLACE! Solid food and even better service. Had the opportunity to chat with one of the co-owners before and not only was he pleasant but you could see it in his products. I've celebrated a couple birthdays here with friends and the staff always makes them feel special.
Came on a weeknight and was not busy at all. The ambiance is nice and service was good. We started off with drinks and I asked for a recommendation but the waitress wasn't helpful. The cocktails were good. I've come here a handful of times and the menu has changed. We shared Da Goat and neither the dish or crostini were warm. The Korean cauliflower bites were really good with great flavors. The tacos come in an order of 3 and cannot be mismatched. We went with the pork belly and the flavors were great but the pork belly itself was extremely fatty. We couldn't finish it. Overall, we stilled enjoyed the food and drinks and will return to try different dishes and drinks.
If you are wanting a date night idea try Hanger Bar and Kitchen. The set up of this restaurant is very neat. We were lucky to get to sit in one of the Wine Barrel style booths. Our server knew her stuff and could talk about everything on the menu. Highly recommend the Korean Cauliflower Bites and the Queso. I could have eaten another order of those bites! I would pass on the Salads.... Overpriced for a salad. Nothing special. The French Onion soup was amazing!!! But the Star was the Bah Mi Tacos. Slightly spicy and sweet. The tenderloin that is used melts in ur mouth. The Cajun Pasta was good but go for the Tacos!!!! The drinks were pricey but expected. Cupid Champagne French 75, Hanger Dirty Blue Martini and a Chocolate Martini (for dessert)
There's not enough that can be said about this cute bar, I gave it 5 stars based off of the appearance alone. I did not order any food or drinks I was out enjoying a Yelp event and stumbled upon this bar and went in to see how it looked because the outside looked nice and quaint. My friend did enjoy a few drinks and they looked amazing. This is a place that I'll definitely come back to and try the food and drinks, if the food and drinks are anything like the service my friend received then I know I will not regret this 5 star review.
This restaurant is very modern and has an overall great ambience. We sat outdoors and it was a beautiful fall evening in stl. The service was amazing, very attentive. The best item we tasted were the brisket meatballs, they were the highlight of the evening. The rest of the food was decent but lack flavor. I would go back for the meatballs and the cookie dessert.
We came here on Friday for girls night and had so much fun!! We made a reservation earlier in the week, and made it for the patio. In true StL fashion, the weather took a turn and it turned cold out of nowhere. We asked to sit inside and they were booked, but they did turn on the heaters for us outside which helped tremendously. Our server also put our names down in case of any cancellations. It ultimately didn't end up being needed, but was very much appreciated. We ordered drinks first, and I had a hard time choosing one- they all looked and sounded amazing. I like a bit of spice so I went with the Coming in Hot: Hendrick's, lemon juice, St. Germain, Domaine Canton, basil, cucumber, and jalapeño. Presentation was lovely and it had a great taste. I think it would have been even better had it been shaken with ice- it was a bit of a room temperature feel so I added some ice. We decided to each get a plate and then split. We got the crab Rangoon roll, short rib tacos, carne Asada fries, and Korean cauliflower bites. I want to start out by saying everything was delicious! I think the crab Rangoon roll was my favorite. The crunch makes it SO good, loved the sauce. The short rib tacos were super tasty, and they added one on for us so we each got one, which was really appreciated. The carne asada fries were tasty as well, and love the a Korean cauli bites. I would absolutely order each of these again. It can be a bit pricy with the portions that you get, but the food was incredible. The inside is so awesome as well, love the vibe. Thanks for the great service!!
We went around 7:30 and a live band was playing! The atmosphere was super inviting! They have really cool/unique booths here they feel very private when you're sitting in them. Our server went above and beyond, we had so many questions with the menu because so many things looked delicious and she helped us narrow them down. The Korean cauliflower bites were AMAZING! One of the best appetizers I've had, we wanted more when we finished. The sliders were great too but I do think the "that's my jam" has the "heat is on" beat! Our server suggested adding queso to the "that's my jam" burger and that made it top notch
We went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It's a nice restaurant. They do have indoor and patio dining. We had a party of 16 so it's great for large groups. Very cute place. They also had live music outside. They have the Famous Barr French Onion soup. It was pretty good, it was a little sweet. I ordered the Banh Mi tacos. They were delicious. Full of flavor with a little heat. I tasted the sushi crab Rangoon - it was good. I had a mocktail because they were out of the Blood Orange Ginger Mojito (they just opened!) I can't recall the name of the drink it was a Tropcial something and absolutely delicious!!! Plenty of parking. I suggest making a reservation. Great place!
We had a great time at Hangar! We sat on the outside patio and listened to some great live music by a gentleman playing guitar and singing solo. It was perfect for a summer date night with some drinks and good food. My husband got the Betsy cocktail that was delicious and I had the Dirty Blue Sky Martini (sub gin instead of vodka) - one of the best dirty martinis I've had! For dinner we started with the Korean Cauliflower Bites and they were delicious. A nice light appetizer with great flavor. Only a tiny bit of spice, but nothing to worry about if you're not a spicy person. Highly recommend! Then we split the Chicken Amandine and then That's My Jam Sliders - both super good. We couldn't really pick one as a favorite over the other, but we both agreed the cauliflower bites were for sure our favorite! We finished things off with the Chocolate Chip Skillet, yummmmm. It's topped with vanilla ice cream and a really good creamy peanut butter topping, also highly recommend! Our server was quick, helpful, and kind. Also the food and drinks came out quickly, even with being pretty busy for a Friday night. We made a reservation, which we ended up not needing because we got there before 6pm, but we for sure would've needed one if we got there after 6:30pm because it was getting busy. Overall, the ambiance was perfect for a summer date night or chill night with friends, food was varying and delicious, and service was great. Will definitely be back!
The outdoor patio was really pretty. Loved the food and service was top notch. Would love to return and dine indoors which had airplane decor and looked really hip. Tapas style dining in my favorite and we tried many items. read more
We made reservations here a couple weeks ahead with another couple and we got seated in one of the worst spots in the restaurant, right next to the hostess before the bar area and behind the windows. It was freezing cold, next to the garage type glass windows so we asked to move. The manager came and moved us. I didn't even realize she was the manager(only since our nice waiter told us he would get the manager when we asked to move) when she moved us to a different table. She barely said a word. The food was good but way overpriced for a bar setting. 1)cauliflower bites- cauliflower that's batter fried was super delicious 2)short rib tacos were tasty and satisfying 3)salmon roll was good but nothing special 4)cookie a la mode in casting pan was superb 5)cocktails were ok not great (strawberry mojito) 6)our waiter was really nice read more

I made a Saturday evening reservation about a week in advance. We arrived and are table was ready. The interior has a really nice ambiance and our server made sure to check on us often. Before dinner I ordered a southern peach mule. This is not a traditional mule with vodka. It had woodford reserve bourbon in it. This drink has mint leaves in it and was very tasty. For my entree I ordered the beef short ribs. The meat was very tender and I didn't need to add any additional seasoning. My friend ordered the beef brisket tacos. I had them before and they are good as well. Two hours after I reservation started we were informed the next reservation was there. We had already paid and were sitting their talking so we got up and left. So keep in mind reservations have 2 hour limits on busy nights which is fine. read more

Hangar is such a unique space in an unassuming location. I don't come to this part of stl that often, but made the trip to try Hangar! What I ordered: I started off with the strawberry basil mojito. It was sweet and refreshing- like any good mojito. We were just feeling drinks and a small bite to eat so we got "da goat". The flavors were delish and the crostini it was served with were perfectly crispy, but we were disappointed in the portion. When I finished my first drink, I decided to do one more so I went with the Georgia peach mule. It was forgettable. The space is so unique and it is a fun vibe, but I don't know if I'd come back. It is a fun place to try and maybe if I lived in the area, this would be one of my places, but nothing here was super special IMO except for the interior. read more

Driving down Manchester in the Rock Hill area and I see a sign that I have never noticed before, so of course I'm intrigued and I bank right and pull in. I walked in and in the entryway were two young ladies that pleasantly greeted and seated us quickly. As I walked through the doors I am immediately shook by the decor. For starters they had BAF (big ass fan) this brand of fans is typically only in gyms to keep the air circulating but here it added to the modern, eclectic style that was going on. There were booths that lined the main dining area that resemble large wine barrels and were open so that you were still able to fully engage with the bar side of the restaurant. Speaking of the bar, I spotted fresh ingredients not a barrage of bottled syrup and jarred toppings. We had a few of the suggestions that were provided by Faith our friendly hostess, such as the Crab Rangoon Sushi, Goat Cheese with crostini, and the Pork Belly tacos. Please keep in mind that this is a Tapas Restaurant but the portions were generous enough to share between two people. We have deemed them our new favorite bar and I will report back later with my recommendations for drinks. Enjoy! read more
My new absolute favorite date night spot! We sat in the bar area on a pretty busy night and started with some VERY tasty cocktails. We sampled a few but by far my favorite was the Strawberry Basil Mojito - perfectly refreshing and not too heavy! For an appetizer we got the Shrimp & Pork Potstickers and the Chorizo Fundido. Both were very, very good. I would be so bold as to call myself a queso connoisseur and this queso was GOOD. I got the pork belly tacos and did not regret it even a little bit. Flavorful, delicious, and all-around yummy. Parking is easy, staff are all friendly, and I'm dying to come back and sit in one of the super cool semi-enclosed booths in the middle of the restaurant space. read more
I had a very enjoyable time here. Hangar has beautiful decor and a layout that makes sense. The tables under the circle domes are very cool to look at. Nice string lights overhead, dim lighting throughout. Medium noise level - I could hear those sitting next to me fine but had to really speak up for the other side of the table to hear. Overall a great ambiance. Food was very farm-to-table esque. Lots of vegetarian options and options from different cuisines - sushi, tacos, etc. All the food was great tasting and had stunning plating. I got the cauliflower filet which was great, well cooked and seasoned and the avocado mash with it was yummy. Cocktails were well made, too. I did find the food a little odd for the atmosphere and a big pricey. It was all small plates and they were gorgeous but something about the environment felt more casual and the prices did not reflect that. My entree was $15 which seemed high for the ingredients - cauliflower, potatoes, avocado. Drinks were especially pricey - $13 for specialty cocktails, $10 for regular. Service was good, our server was really sweet and offered lots of suggestions on the food. I do wish someone would have told us up front that there was a time limit for seating so we didn't feel so rushed out at the end. Partially my own fault - I forgot that the OpenTable reservation DID specify a time limit but a gentle reminder at arrival would have helped us be more mindful of the time. Overall, I would recommend checking out Hangar! :) read more

From aesthetic to the food everything is A1 at the Hangar our server Kevin was amazing he was very prompt professional and friendly he gave us a few suggestions and explain the food how was served explained that the food came out as a type of style serving to share at the table which we did we had deviled eggs as an appetizer and they were some of the best devil eggs I think I've ever had in a restaurant. The presentation of the food was also top notch. If there's anything I could maybe complain about is that they charge you for using a credit card and the plates look small but there actually perfect portion size. You should definitely check out this place... read more
Absolutely love this place! Amazing atmosphere and decor that makes it feel very spacious inside. Friendly staff and were seated right away. The harvest salad was yummy especially that honey mustard vinaigrette. The pork tacos here are top quality I highly recommend them! read more
Everything was delicious and packed with flavor! The deviled eggs were "okay" but the bacon had a sweet glaze I could not get enough of. Service was superb. Our waitress attentive and explained everything on the menu as needed. The ambiance was casual romantic. A little pricey but worth it. We will be back! read more

100% would recommend and will definitely return for the delicious food. The outdoor covered patio area is really nice and spacious as well. Food wise the meatballs, crab Rangoon sushi, cauliflower and Mac n cheese are must orders. Also loved the cocktails! read more
First time here. Decor is really cool - I really wanted to be able to take advantage of their patio but alas the rain and humidity weren't agreeable. Cocktail list was interesting- started with the dirty martini on the menu and ended with their seasonal watermelon cocktail. Both were good. Word of warning - at $14 a pop - your bill can get pretty pricey quickly. We shared appetizers and tacos for dinner: goat cheese tomato spread was yummy - not a lot of goat cheese so those who don't like goat cheese would still enjoy it; short rib fries were very tasty; and the crab ragoon was good but nothing special. We did the fish tacos and the short rib tacos - you get three each so with the 3 of us that meant we each got to try one. Those were stellar - definitely would come back for them - especially the short rib. read more

The good customer service and food is pretty consistent here. The ambience is very much date night/girls night. The menu isn't extensive but Those Korean cauliflower bites have a special place in my heart. The drinks are always great also! I think the only thing I didn't really care for here were the tacos. They were pretty basic. My husband loves that flaming sushi roll. He gets out every time we come. read more

Love the look of the inside, so thought we'd try it out for date night on a Wednesday night.. we should've kept driving. The price of the food for what you get is asinine. Plus the food itself was mediocre. The sliders were burnt and super dry. The "sushi" was basically fried rice with cream cheese inside. The chorizo fundido had maybe a small child size spoonful of chorizo. The server barely came by. For a $60 meal, I expect a lot more. And that didn't even include fries or any other side. This is definitely a one and done restaurant. I don't understand how this place has so many positive reviews. read more
Second visit with a different set of friends. Didn't disappoint! The Georgia Peach Bourbon Mule is just the best! Quite possibly my favorite drink here. I also tried the Strawberry Basil Mojito this time, and it was great too. Meatballs were excellent - and the presentation for everything is really nice as well. I'll be back with another set of friends soon! read more

The food is always amazing. I highly recommend the chicken almondine. Their cocktails never disappoint. I've had the tropical vacation and espresso martini. Both drinks were great. The chandeliers and barrels make the vibe of the building extraordinary. I've been to this restaurant 3 times and I give each experience 5 stars. read more

First visit! 3 in my party, reservation set for 6:30p. Arrived timely, only waited about 6 min to be seated because there were quite a few folks who arrived at the same time. Was seated inside of one of the cool circle sections. Great spacing between tables, staff wearing mask and hand sanitizer by the door. I also witnessed the staff cleaning the tables in-between guest to an acceptable level. Ordered a Jack and Coke short, pretty basic pour and portion. Mealtime... Sliders with Jalepeno cheese, Carne Asada Fries, Cod Cakes, Short Rib tacos and Dirty Ceasar, no olives. All of the food was good. My fav was the Carne Asada Fries because of the flavors of the toppings and the fries were the correct thickness to carry those toppings. The sliders could have used some additional seasoning and the dressing on the salad is a bit more tart than I prefer. Surprisingly, the Cod Cakes are a definite must try as well, don't get side-tracked by the description. Service was friendly and we had a great time. Plenty of patio seating with heaters too! read more

Friend and I went for dinner on a Friday evening, the restaurant was pretty busy, the host asked if we had a reservation, we didn't so she informed us the only seating that was open was outside. It was a little chilly but they have heat lamps and fire pits so it was not a big deal. A word of advice thought: MAKE A RESERVATION SO YOU CAN HAVE INDOOR SEATING. The decor both inside and outside are beautiful, very warm and inviting. Prices for food and drinks are not cheap, but you will NOT be disappointed. The presentations are gorgeous and there's not a bad drink on the menu. Our waiter Brandon was amazing, so knowledgeable about the menu and we loved his energy. He was attentive without being too much. He offered to walk with me to the restroom when I didn't know where it was. Management, if you are reading this, brandon deserves a raise. Anyway, onto the food, we ordered 5 menu items to share: Crab Rangoon Roll: crispy in the outside warm and gooey on the inside, sweet chili sauce is the perfect pairing. It is imitation crab meat inside I can't help but wonder how awesome it would taste with real flaky crab meat. Flaming Salmon Roll: please please try this when you are there. The salmon is perfectly cooked and the presentation is beautiful. Lobster Mac and Cheese: do I even have to say anything?! The name says it all. It was the right creaminess, not overly cheesy, big pieces of lobster in there, I could have eating another plate by myself. Da Goat: baked goat cheese with a sweet and spicy tomato sauce. Crostini were a roasted garlic flavor and wonderfully crispy. Chef Mex Egg Roll: neither one of us cared for this dish. You can honestly pass it. I'm sure everything else on the menu is better than this egg roll. For dessert we got the apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream and salted caramel whipped cream, I need a whole tub of this stuff. THE BEST DESSERT IVE HAD ANYWHERE IN A LONG TIME! I'm pretty sure I'm still thinking about it. read more
