YUM! Pepperoni flatbread was amazing, with crispy little spicy pepperonis and a hint of hot honey. The chorizo queso (picture attached) was interesting, but delicious. My wife and I have been here twice and I can say with certainty that we will be here many more times. The atmosphere is unique in that they have booths that are formed as if you are sitting in a cut out section of an extremely large barrel. It makes for a very private dining experience which is perfect for a date night. They have a patio and live music outside and we are looking forward to spending some time there when the weather becomes more fall like. Noel was our server both times we were there and she provided fantastic service and recommendations on the menu. We've had the potstickers, the Nachos, Carne Asada Tacos, Nachos (with Carne Asada meet instead of Ground Beef - thank you Noel for this suggestion), one of the salads and a Crab Roll. The food here is delicious, I would say the Nachos with Carne Asada meat is the best Nachos I've ever had and I would consider just getting this for an entrée. Really want to love this place because it's close to home and they created what could be a great dining destination. It offers nice ambiance with the airplane hangar theme, massive wine barrel booths, great indoor lighting, beautiful outdoor space and they offer live music some evenings. The music schedule changes from week to week so you have to check out their social media updates. The crafted cocktail (spicy watermelon margarita) was good, not great but served in a pretty glass and looked delicious etc. Their emphasis was on the heat, which overpowered the watermelon flavor.i think if it had been shaken it might have been a bit better The tacos had great flavor, but were missing about another full portion of toppings. Way overpriced for what you get. We made a gentle comment simply to provide feedback to the kitchen, and the waiter was kind and brought us more chips and queso. Nice gesture but didn't make up for the lack of meat. We saw some other nacho plates going out to a large table. One looked right on target of what we were expecting for our own table, plenty of toppings. The other plate looked like ours. Need some kitchen quality control. Also had the That My Jam sliders. The meat was a bit greasy and overcooked for me. I was there on a Friday evening, the bar area was not packed while we were there (from 7-8:30). The outdoor space was booked only until 8. The owners seem to own the space next door (Momos) equally beautifully designed inside. Came here for a birthday dinner with a large party of 17. We made reservations in advance and came right at their opening time at 4pm. Due to our party size it did take a bit longer to get through dinner service but overall I think they were able to handle a large party well. Plenty of free parking available in the lot outside of the restaurant. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. There was a live music in the outdoor space. Inside they have some very cool barrel booth seating. For drinks. I tried their Supernova champagne. I was disappointed that it ended up sounding a lot tastier than it was. It was simply champagne with a couple of strawberries in it. There was a blood orange drink and a dish with scallops that was unavailable. Which was a little disappointing and shocking for the beginning of the food service and on a Saturday. Their menu has a lot of different types of food. From sushi to burgers, so there's something for everyone. I tried the fish tacos which were just okay. Unfortunately nothing too spectacular about them. The cocktails were good. I've come here a handful of times and the menu has changed. We shared Da Goat and neither the dish or crostini were warm. Visited Hangar with a group of about 12 for my friends birthday dinner. Definitely an overall pleasant experience. Here are my thoughts: -Ambiance: 9/10 - when I walked in, I was greeted by the friendliest staff I've experienced in quite a while. I love the booths that they have, they remind me of cute wooden hamster wheels . The soft music in the background was also good and perfect for conversation. -Service: 9/10 - server was attentive, kind and even went above when I spilled my drink . She was consistent throughout the evening. The only thing I'll say is towards the end it started to get a bit slower - but maybe that's because the restaurant got busier. -Food & Drinks: 8/10 - the food was fresh and quite delicious. Our server knew her stuff and could talk about everything on the menu. Highly recommend the Korean Cauliflower Bites and the Queso. I could have eaten another order of those bites! We came here on Friday for girls night and had so much fun!! We made a reservation earlier in the week, and made it for the patio. In true StL fashion, the weather took a turn and it turned cold out of nowhere. We asked to sit inside and they were booked, but they did turn on the heaters for us outside which helped tremendously. Our server also put our names down in case of any cancellations. It ultimately didn't end up being needed, but was very much appreciated. We ordered drinks first, and I had a hard time choosing one- they all looked and sounded amazing. I like a bit of spice so I went with the Coming in Hot: Hendrick's, lemon juice, St. Germain, Domaine Canton, basil, cucumber, and jalapeño. Presentation was lovely and it had a great taste. I think it would have been even better had it been shaken with ice- it was a bit of a room temperature feel so I added some ice. We decided to each get a plate and then split. We got the crab Rangoon roll, short rib tacos, carne Asada fries, and Korean cauliflower bites. I want to start out by saying everything was delicious! I think the crab Rangoon roll was my favorite. The crunch makes it SO good, loved the sauce. The short rib tacos were super tasty, and they added one on for us so we each got one, which was really appreciated. We went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It's a nice restaurant. They do have indoor and patio dining. We had a party of 16 so it's great for large groups. Very cute place. We had a great time at Hangar! We sat on the outside patio and listened to some great live music by a gentleman playing guitar and singing solo. It was perfect for a summer date night with some drinks and good food. My husband got the Betsy cocktail that was delicious and I had the Dirty Blue Sky Martini (sub gin instead of vodka) - one of the best dirty martinis I've had! For dinner we started with the Korean Cauliflower Bites and they were delicious. A nice light appetizer with great flavor. Only a tiny bit of spice, but nothing to worry about if you're not a spicy person. Highly recommend! Then we split the Chicken Amandine and then That's My Jam Sliders - both super good. We couldn't really pick one as a favorite over the other, but we both agreed the cauliflower bites were for sure our favorite! We finished things off with the Chocolate Chip Skillet, yummmmm. To start, the ambiance at Hangar was 10/10. It has such cozy vibes for a date night, or could accommodate a larger party (like we had) for a birthday! The low lighting and rustic decor was so inviting. We had several different courses and loved pretty much all we had. I highly recommend the Carne Asada tacos. They had a generous amount of tender meat, with all the fixins! The tempura cod tacos were crispy, fresh, and delicious. Thinking that it would be a busy evening, we made reservations using Open Table. Surprisingly, they we're not busy at 6:30 (Thursday).We were taken to our table with this large curved cover. I really liked the interior design. It was spacious and eye catching. Our server was a young lady who turned out to be very new. She was still working through learning the menu, but she was very attentive and handled our requests in a friendly and efficient manner. Our cocktail choices was the Old Fashion, the strawberry mojito and a Georgia Peach mule. Each was crafted quite well with the Old Fashion being our favorite. The use of the clove in the orange peel was attractive, clever and flavorful. We had a light appetizer of crab ragoons. These were tasty with a very nice sweet chili sauce. I would have liked the ragoon to be a bit crispier, but the flavor was good. I rate it a 3.75. We shared a Harvest salad. Nice and tangy, citrus notes with lovely cheese and roasted sweet potatoes and squash. Would have liked more of the roasted veggies. Splitting this excellent salad made for two nice sides. I rate the it 4.25. For the meal, we had the Braised Short Rib served over mashed potatoes and some fried spinach and some gravy. Meat was cooked perfectly. Potatoes were nice and creamy, but I found them missing some seasoning / pepper. Gravy was good too, but I was looking for some pepper (my preference, you may be different). Portion was not large, but reasonable. I would rate this dish a solid 4. Our guest had the Lobster Mac which we tried. The cheese sauce was creamy and mellow which kept it from overpowering the lobster. The cracker and onions on top gave some nice texture. I did find the lobster to be a bit over cooked and chewy. Met some friends tonight for happy hour at the Hanger. This is the first time I had ever been there. I read some reviews to see what was good, and every review that I had read said it was pricey. That was true. But the food was really good. It's a tapas restaurant. There were three of us and we got a few different things to try. The Korean cauliflower bites were much better than I expected them to be. It didn't seem like something like that would have a lot of flavor, but it was wonderful. I had her to try Da Goat and I wasn't disappointed with the flavor of the sauce and the cheese together. We also shared a crab Rangoon spring roll. That was another hit with our group. The last thing we tried were the shrimp and pork potstickers. The flavor was good, but they were too spicy for me. My friends didn't think it was too much but I'm kind of wimpy with spicy food. The restaurant itself is absolutely adorable. The inside and the patio or a pleasant surprise for something that's kind of in a shopping center area. Service was amazing. All of our food was brought out quickly and at the proper temperature. They have a great beer selection. The signature drinks are expensive. Like $15 each. Probably just over the pricy side for me to consider coming multiple times, but I was excited they had mojitos on offer, as the watering holes I usually frequent never have mint (this says a lot more about me than those places, and also may give you some idea of the price point I'm looking for ). Tonight we had the sliders, I forget the name now, but it's the one that's the spicier version. 24 ounce burgers cooked to perfection with a side of fries. They are amazing. And my wife got the pork tacos, comes with a fried avocado, jalapeño, slaw. Also, the Korean cauliflower bites, love those things. Enjoyable night at Hangar Kitchen to ring in the New Year! We made reservations ahead of time on Open Table since it was New Year's Eve and were glad we did because it was pretty busy. There were 4 of us and we decided to order 5 plates to share. My favorite was the lobster Mac and the crab Rangoon sushi roll (which is not pictured because we ate it too fast :) so you know it was good!) the only one I wasn't a huge fan of was the potstickers. They weren't necessarily bad but just ok compared to the other plates. We were super happy with each drink we ordered too! We ended with an espresso martini which was a great recommendation from our server. More sweet than espresso tasting but loved it! There was even live music which we loved! We got the goat cheese appetizer which is toast points with goat cheese in a pool of Italian red sauce. It was good. After we were done with apps we ordered entrees. I'm not kidding that after we ordered they came out in less than five minutes. The prices for the food aren't reasonable for what you get. Sliders do not include a side. No veggies, no fries. There are no dinner salads just entree salads. I got the scallops. They give you three and they are big. The sides are a veggie, green onions and mushrooms. My scallops were slightly undercooked. Hmm.... Not quite sure where to begin with this one. One of my friends said they were having live music on this day and it'd be worth checking out. I had never been but had heard mixed reviews, so I figured why not? Upon entry, I noticed it was rather packed. Not sure if it's always like this or because they were having live music, but we opted to wait at the bar until a table opened. After a few tables got up, we tried to snag one but were told we'd have to reserve one as they were priority for those who had made a reservation and we were only walk-ins. We did just that and waited and waited, only for our table to be given away due to a mixup from the hostess. No biggie but again, we waited. After some minutes, we finally got a table. Yay! The menu has a mix or everything, which I guess could be good or bad depending on how you look at it. It offers a range from sushi rolls and salmon, to arancini to hummus, and tacos. Obviously, I skipped a lot but as you can see, there's no real structure. I I opted for a side dirty Caesar, the champagne supernova and the miso salmon. The salad came out and was alright. It could have used a bit more dressing. I loved the croutons! In fact, I think they had more flavor than the actual salad. How dreadful. The drink was pretty tasty and light. It def. made me feel festive. The salmon came out and let me say, this threw me for a loop. When I first saw it, I thought to myself " the audacity of these people to bring out this salmon knowing full and well it's scorched!" Then I took a bite and realized it was the glaze that made it so dark. Regardless, the site was a bit off putting but the taste was spot on! Unfortunately, the side of the rice noodle slaw was a miss. I had no idea it was going to come out cold and should have known when I didn't see steam coming from it. It was a weird contrast but eating hot salmon to cold slaw salad. As I mentioned, it was okay but it would have been nice to have another hot side to go with it. While the service was good, unfortunately, I can't justify paying $62.00 worth of food for what should have been 40-45 tops. I was like, am I in Clayton right now? Nope, just Rock Hill! Oh ok! I've been here maybe five or six times since they opened and have always enjoyed it. They have a nice patio and I love sitting out there when the weather is nice. We opted to sit inside this past weekend because it was windy and a little cool. The inside is different. The booths are inside a big wood round shape - like if half of a (huge) barrel was over it. I'm not good at explaining it - but it's cool! They also play good tunes and it's not too loud Our server was good. He had a super laid back attitude and was attentive without being at our table too much. Anyone who brought food to our table was also friendly. I feel like they may have changed the menu some since the last time I was there. We had enough to choose from that I would like, but it seems like there used to be more options that sounded good to me. Our cocktails and food were good! My only complaint would be that the carne asada fries were really salty. I forgot to take pictures of the 21 Ingredient Ranch salad, the Carne Asada Fries, and the El Pastor Pulled Pork tacos. I made reservations via Open Table for Veterans Day as I wasn't sure how much of an on the spot wait would be for a group of 6. We all arrived and was immediately sat down at one of the wine barrel booths. The last time I was here it was warm outside so we sat outside so it was nice to see the inside. It's very gorgeous for a date night. Although with my family, we were not squished in the booth. The wooden tables are sturdy and compliment the semi circle of a wine barrel encompassing our booth. The barrel provided us with the ability to hear one another and not feel engraved by other's conversations around us. Our waitress, Joa was very cordial and attentive! We all ordered drinks (Hangar Old Fashioned, Barcelona Sangria Fall Edition, Tropical Vacation, Georgia Peach Bourbon Mule, Dirty Martini and the Sparkling Mistletoe). Per Joa's recommendation, my first drink was the Sparkling Mistletoe. It was festive in appearance (cranberries against the rosemary reminds me of Christmas) but not super boozy. My dad ordered the Tropical Vacation and it was very spicy and sweet. The mango comes through after you get past the savoriness and spiciness of the tequila and Tajin rimmed glass. My mother enjoyed her sangria. I didn't get to taste it but it looked good. The cons are they use huge ice cubes and those ice cubes can quickly water a drink down that's already in a smaller glass. My old fashioned was boozy but very spicy as it had star anise embedded in the orange rind and a huge cinnamon stick immersed in my glass, something different than the norm. Before I get into the food, I will let you know that this place serves almost tapa style plates. A tapa is an appetizer or snack in Spanish cuisine. At Hangar, the food is smaller in portion, but big on flavor and presentation. We ordered Hangar Nachos and crab rangoon for the table. The beef was well seasoned in the nachos and the cheese was drizzled on the bottom and top so that as you made your way to the bottom the chips were not soggy but covered enough to grab and finish the plate. You only get 5 crab rangoons for $10 and they are relatively smaller than most places but still very delicious. My siblings and I ordered burgers. I had the Heat is On and my siblings had That's My Jam. We all loved the burgers have crispy edges. My sister's buns were a little burnt. My brother wanted mustard with his burger but they said they didn't have any at first but found some eventually. A critique I have for my burger would be to add a sauce to the bun or something. It felt like it was missing something saucy. My dad ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon. I didn't get to sample his plate but I was amazed by the rice noodle slaw next to his fish. I did sample my mother's plate - Braised Short Rib. The meat was very tender! I'm not a big fan of goat cheese but it was in the mashed potatoes. I think there was a flash fried spinach added but the meat was topped with gremolata, something I've never tried before but was really good. My partner had the Bahn Mi tacos and the meat was very tender but sweet. I did ask about Veteran's Day at the end of our dining experience and although they do not do anything for vets, Joa, wrote a very nice note for my partner and dad which was very sweet! read more

My partner made reservations at Hangar for an impromptu date night. That was not necessary as we were one of only about four occupied tables at 7:30. Thus, we had really great and fast service. The food however, was just mediocre. We started with the spicy cauliflower, which was the culinary highlight. My partner also liked his short rib tacos. However, We didn't love the flavor of the crab Rangoon roll and my salad that had prawns as an ingredient on the menu had only one shrimp on it. The reason I love this place is because it's got great decor, the food is delicious and they are super fast. Every time we go here we order something off the me I about every 10 minutes and it gets to your table quickly. We work our way through the menu and share each dish. The drinks are very good as well. I highly recommend this place for a great meal and it doesn't take all night. read more

Pros: I give the food and the vibe a 10/10. Easy to get a last minute table even on a Saturday night. Some of the best cocktails I've had, the bartenders never miss. Cons: Prices are on the higher side for the small portions you receive. We seem to get new waiters/waitresses quite often. read more

Slow Saturday night before Easter when the four of us arrived at 8:30, there were only a few occupied tables and we were seated right away. Avery greeted us quickly and very friendly and brought waters quickly after that. I ordered a "Coming in Hot" martini, my wife ordered a Prosecco, our friends ordered a Cosmo and Gin and Tonic, respectively, all drinks were good except for mine..which was excellent! Quite the kick! Our wives split the sliders/burgers "That's My Jam", my buddy got the Braised Short Ribs and had the Pork Belly Tacos and we all ordered sides of fries. Food was very good but my tacos were perhaps the best tacos I have ever had (and I'm and old guy. The pork belly was outstanding and there was an excellent sauce, with fried onion rings giving them a nice crunch. Avery could not have been friendlier and more upbeat. My girlfriend and I love to eat out and write reviews. We decided to give Hangar a try on a Tuesday night. The weather was nice so we decided to sit outside. I didn't get a good look at the inside of the restaurant but from a glance it seemed to have a warm rustic/contemporary vibe to it. The patio had plenty of space in between tables which is a huge plus. They are pet friendly. I would never bring my dog to a restaurant but it's worth mentioning. Our service was very casual. I had zero complaints. Our server didn't go above and beyond but she earned her 20%. We asked for recommendations and her answers were genuine. She didn't point to the most expensive things on the menu and didn't come across as overly pushy. Food and drinks hit the table quickly. Now let's talk about what matters most - the food. As Erik the Electric would say, W-O-W. Seriously, this was next level comfort food. I don't get blown away often but I was tonight. Every flavor complimented the other very well. Kudos to both the bartender and the chef. My ONLY complaint would be the Carne Asada Fries. I've had better food at the ballpark. This dish does not belong on your menu. I also felt like the presentation with our food could have been better. Especially when we're paying $15-$30 per plate. However, this is nitpicking. Overall, a great experience. Hangar was a fun experience on a Friday night for my husband and I. We made a 6pm reservations so we didn't have to wait. It was a busy night with people celebrating special occasions or are simply out with their families and friends. We were seated on a high top table by the bar, as they were the only ones available when I made my reservation a week ahead of time. The place is slightly loud but still, we had a nice time. We started with some drinks: I had a dirty blue sky martini - Ketel one vodka, olive juice, and 2 bleu cheese stuffed olives. It was delicious but definitely a bit on the strong side for a usual wine drinker like myself. My husband had a regular mojito while we waited for our two 2.5 tri-blend burgers (That's my Jam) served with fries, and hangar nachos. The nachos and the mini burgers were quite tasty and filling! I was pleasantly surprised but sad at the same time since I keep seeing some of their other delectable-looking menu items getting delivered to other tables and wishing I could eat more. When our food arrived at the table, I decided to switch my drinks up and ordered a Champagne Supernova - strawberry infused vodka, citrus and champagne. That was absolutely delicious! I ordered another one before we left since it's Friday night and I'm allowed to live it up a little! We also ordered another menu item; the pork belly taco. It was good and the pork belly pieces were cooked to perfect. However, I took 2 bites and was done. I had such a deliciously, fantastic time though and can't wait to come back to try their other menu items! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive.
