Th food was good. The restaurant was loud and crowded. It was my second visit. I'll go back though.

We went here after some bball and the place looks great inside. Typical bar type atmosphere with TVs, concrete floor, dark and buzzing with activity. We were greeted promptly and they all took great care of us. The kids had fun playing Golden Tee and picking songs for the Juke Box. The food had mixed reviews. I got their BBQ smoked wings and they were really good!! My wife got the nachos and they were huge, but she could take em or leave them. The kid got chicken fingers and he was not a huge fan but he is picky anyways. Would definitely go back! read more

This place has been around for decades, but it's new to us. We've been about 4-5 times now, always sit outside under the covered, heated/cooled tent. It's perfect! While I'm not a fan of the smoking, there is plenty of seating to avoid it! The servers are always friendly, fun and engaging! Super helpful. They all work together, so that's a bonus! The food...their wings are amazing! Smoked/fried..perfection! Burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza, it's all been great! Live music on weekends too! You can't lose! read more

What a hole in the wall find! We were out at the chesterfield outlet mall and wanted a burger for lunch so stopped by Wente's around 12. It has just opened and the food was fresh, hot, and delicious! Wente's may look like a hole in the wall, but it's not. My service has been incredibly both times I've been here. Very pleasant and friendly. The food isn't "just" bar food. I order my pizza without green peppers and they accidentally made it with them. The manager came out to tell us and said he was remaking it and boxing up the other one for us to take home if we wanted it. We told him we would just pick them off. Amazing! The place was slammed with customers. Almost every seat was taken. I thought it would take forever to get an order in and even longer for it to be served. Surprisingly, no ! We've been to Wente's a number of times over the years and have always had a positive experience. It's super casual! There is seating indoors and outside. I think the outside is always covered. There are some fans which is a big plus on warm days. The menu is a decent size. It's basically bar food and some healthier options. The service is good and the staff is pretty friendly. They have live music there. I've only been once when a band was there, but it was enjoyable. We were out and decided to stop by. It was really cold outside. The band was in the covered outside area and there were some space heaters, but it was still really cold! I recommend dressing accordingly! If you're looking to chill and eat some decent bar food - Wente's is the place! read more

We met some friends here for a Sunday afternoon late lunch and drinks. We were able to sit outside in the covered patio area - they also had heaters going which kept it nice and warm. We had pizza, wings and some varied appetizers around the table. All the food was good and the ranch was very good. We were here for a few hours with people drinking and eating and the server kept up with us pretty well. She was not really friendly but we were glad she was there so the patio was open. read more

Ran in for a quick bite between volleyball games with a party of 5. Food: we had apples and drinks. Everything was solid. Pretzel bites, Quisidilla, fried clams, cheese bites and trashed wings hit the table and disappeared quickly. Great draft selection and cold!!! Service: they were short-staffed due to the winter weather. Two inches of ice. It was amazing to see the bar and kitchen staff jump in to serve their customers. It was obvious they cared about our experience and did not disappoint. This place is a hidden gem. I've driven by so many times, but this was my first visit and I will be back. Rating is 2.5 out of 5 Positives... Pretzel bites were hot and my wife liked them. Pulled pork on the pork nachos was really good. BLT tasted ok Fries tasted ok but would be better fresh. The live music was really good! The beer wasn't warm. It wasn't cold either. Negatives.... All the food was cold except the pretzel bites which came out last. They brought out my cold Sandwich and stale cold fries way before the 2 appetizers. There was hardly any cheese on the nachos. The outside area was pretty filthy and a broom might have helped. The bathroom which is for everyone was not attended to with trash all over the floor. There are hundreds of restaurant/bars that are far better and we won't be back unless someone we know is playing live here. My rating should be 2.5/5 read more

Stopped in for lunch. I had heard everything on the menu was good, especially their wings and pizza. I ended up ordering the fried fish sandwich. It was fine but not impressive. I wished after the fact that I had ordered some wings. Bar atmosphere. Service was great. I'm going to give them another go sometime and try something else on the menu. My husband had been wanting to stop here for a while and we finally checked out this small dive bar. The chicken philly was a healthy portion and wasn't bad, but didn't strike me as super flavorful. My husband had the french dip which he thought was pretty good. The slaw was good, as well. I didn't get the steak fries, but after seeing them, I wished I had tried them even though my husband said he felt they needed some seasoning. A NO frills bar and grill. You'll tend to find the "local" customers here. Great for happy hour or a low key meal. It does have a patio for nice days or evenings to sit outdoors, also good spot to gather with a group or team. I like their lunch specials, especially meat loaf Wednesday's for $6.99. Get there early, or they're usually sold out by 12:30p. Homemade, tender and tasty style slices comes with mashed (but I usually order thin or steak cut fries) potatoes and a side like creamy coleslaw. They also have an open-faced roast beef sandwich or sometimes try the dinner salad and small pizza special (1-3 toppings) everyday. And the menu can please many with salads, sandwiches, wings and more. Today I stopped in and ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Grilled tender beef slices with onions, green peppers and mushrooms (extra), melted Swiss on a grilled hoagie roll. This was tasty and filling! The service has always been friendly and fast, and if you like a roadie, they'll get your soda or tea refill to go! It may not be the biggest restaurant/bar, but always a solid casual choice! The place was clean, nice seating availability, we sat at the bar. The bartender was nice, relatable. The food...we ordered the fried shrimp platter which came with coleslaw and fries. Can't really go wrong on fried frozen breaded shrimp, those were good, coleslaw tasted like it was made in house and was very good, the fries were steak fries and were undercooked, not even the slightest bit crispy, limp. We also ordered the Monterey burger, the bread was burned in the inside of the sandwich, very little seasoning, just underwhelming in general. Sadly a place I would not EAT at again. read more

We stopped here for dinner on our way out of town after a conference on March 10th. The condition of the bathrooms should have been our first red flag to RUN!! There was literally a poopy a$$ prints on the toilet seat! Food was mediocre at best and when it arrived to our table, some of us were missing toppings on our salads and sandwiches. It wasn't until then that the waitress explained toppings were extra but did not inquire if we wanted them when we ordered. Of course we wanted the toppings?? The menu said they were included. Upon returning home, 4 of the 9 of us were violently ill and one of us discovered the waitress had decided to write in her own GROSSLY UNDESERVED tip!!! Can you say credit card FRAUD?! Nothing about this dining experience had any redeeming qualities whatsoever. Eating here was a terrible mistake we will never make again. 0/10 DO NOT recommend. read more

My meal was disgusting. Taco salad I was told came in a taco shell and it did not. Over priced for dried out ground beef with no seasoning on the beef and in a bowl with sic chips. Overpriced. A pizza twelve inches was disgusting and it cost eighteen dollars. I'm sure it's just a gross frozen pizza. This restaurant used to be so good until it was sold and under new management. Saving grace was the server was great but all the food was mediocre at best. I got the western burger and it was way over cooked and dry as a bone with nothing but a small dab of bbq sauce and an onion ring . The fries were undercooked and limp . We thought we would try out the new Wente's in Defiance for a cold brew and snack after a long bike ride down the Katy Trail but that wasn't the case.. I have attached a picture of the draft beer I ordered for 7.50..AFTER the foam went down..not even a full beer. We ordered the mushrooms and they arrived Luke warm with no taste to them except dipping them in ranch.
