We have been going to Bones for years and find it to be our favorite "hole in the wall" joint. A typically friendly place, you will find many regulars lined up at the bar at all hours. There is an outside area in addition to the small inside bar and seating area. What can you expect? Depends on the day and time you go. You'll always be served great drinks and adequate food. The service is diverse. During breakfast-lunch you'll need to be patient and be ok with feeling like you are a bother. The gentleman that helps deliver food and drinks is wonderful, but the bar tender ...???? The staff late afternoons and evenings are some of the best in town. The food is average, with breakfast being very popular. If you want has browns ask for them high and dry for crispy. French toast is good. While it is supposed to be known for Cajun food, the gumbo is terrible. I was served a bowl of rice with a pasty glob of something on top. Not only that it was served semi-warm. I was told that people from NOLA come here for their Gumbo. Hmm.. The French Quarter has been around forever and will always be one of the iconic West County Bars. Overall they have a good product and some of the best bar-tenders in the city. read more

I like Bones French Quarter. It's a great little place that serves fun, food and libations. The staff are super friendly and as you can see from the photo they embrace the holiday spirit with spirits, beer and wine. The breakfast menu is amazing with traditional and Cajun dishes, the cut potatoes are a must as they are seasoned perfectly so make sure to skip the hash browns in favor of the cut taters. As mentioned, super friendly staff who bring a fun attitude that matches the atmosphere. Definitely will return for more of everything. read more

The food was pretty decent. My issue is with the service. We barely saw our waitress. My husband finally had to leave me there waiting for our check. I waited another 10 to 15 minutes after he left to finally be acknowledged. Mind you, there were only two tables of people. When I asked for the bill, I didn't actually get one. She just told me my total. So, who knows if it was accurate. I just didn't want her to walk away again so I gave her my card and she ran it. I selected the button to get a printed receipt. She just walked away and started playing on her phone. I asked her if I could have my receipt and she asked if I had pushed the button to get a printed receipt. Of course, I did. Why would I be asking where my receipt is? She went to get it and then got back on her phone. I wish I had not given her the tip she got. We went on Sunday evening, a party of 6. Although they were busy, we sat at a table for 15 minutes, and no one acknowledged us. Not even to say they would be with us shortly. Just had a delightful breakfast with friends at French Quarter bar & restaurant. First time here, and the food was wonderful! We sat inside at the bar, clean atmosphere, maybe 15 tables. They have a patio outside, but there were smokers outside so we chose to sit inside. Our server/bartender was Jenny, very attentive to our table of 5, and the place was busy at 10 am. I had the Bone's short stack breakfast, 2 eggs scrambled with crispy bacon and a large stack of 2 pancakes, very good. 2 of my friends had the breakfast sliders which they didn't finish due to the mountain of food on the plate while my other two friends had the short stack breakfast as well. Nice big portions of food for about $10 each. While it is a bar that serves food I found it very clean inside, prompt friendly service overall. This is a great place for breakfast, and the lunch/dinner items on the menu looked appetizing enough for me to want to return another time to sample their food. Great place, worth a try! read more

Stopped in French Quarter this morning for breakfast with my son. There were multiple tables available, so it wasn't that busy. Took a bit of time for the bartender to come over to our table to get our drink order. We looked on the web site at their menu since we didn't have any menu's at the table and ordered food at the same time as our drinks. Food came out fairly quickly. My son got the classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and a side of potatoes. I had the Cajun omelette with toast and a side of potatoes. We had both asked for a side of gravy but never received them. Both orders were mediocre at best. Omelette was lacking cheese and was over loaded with onions. Toast was not buttered and my son's was burnt. Nobody came back to the table to check on our food or if we needed anything until we were done eating. I asked for the check and noticed we were charged for the gravy we never received, so I asked for it to be removed. I had thought they took it off our bill, only to see it was still on there after I had paid the check on the Toast app. Breakfast had always been great there, up until a few months ago. Not sure if they've switched cooks or what had happened. The last couple times we've been, it just hasn't been as good as usual. read more

I've always wanted to eat at Bones French Quarter. The few times I've tried they have been too busy to get near it. They probably have 6-8 tables and then bar seating. At like 5pm on a Wednesday in the summer all the bar seats were occupied and maybe 1/2 the tables? We got drinks and then I ordered the Cajun Craw-fish dinner and my dinner date ordered a cheeseburger and chips. For sides I got French Fries and coleslaw. I had asked the server if the coleslaw had mayonnaise in it. She said no so I got it but it did so that was a no go for me. The fries were your basic freezer bag crinkle cut and the Cajun craw-fish was good. Again, freezer bag...but it had a nice spice and breading on it. I think the sauce they served with it was probably the Cajun ranch. It was decent. I didn't try the cheeseburger but it looked good. I guess there is a shift change at 5:30 ish and our server wanted us to "cash out" before she left even though we weren't finished eating yet. I get it but that hasn't happened to me in years. Otherwise the service was fair considering it was one woman tending bar and waiting the tables. She's my new hero! The place got busier as we sat there. This is very much a neighborhood bar that just happens to be on Manchester facing the street. I'm sure the majority of the patrons are pretty regular. Well I should've read the other bad reviews....they were pretty spot-on. I got the "Beef and Brick" sandwich and it wasn't bad, but it was far from good. I guess the main reason I am giving this place a bad review was because I wanted to eat here....its 100% just a bar. If I came in Later in the day and wanted to have a few drinks it would've been great! They do favor the regulars, but honestly the bartender was still very nice. GET THE CRAB CAKES!!! This does not appear like a bar you want to order food at. While they have revamped the inside and bar area since COVID it still is rather a hole in the wall. BUT The food is fantastic. The fry baskets are also wonderful! they make great bloody marys and the beer comes out fast and cold. Better for smaller groups as they only have about 12 tables inside. A hole in the wall bar with bar seating, tall tops, and a few regular tables. Nothing too crazy but it adds to the charm of the place. It is decorated as if it's Mardi Gras everyday. I ordered the Mardi Gras burger which has a generous size crab cake and two pieces of juicy fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion. All of the veggies come on the side so you can build it yourself- It was really good I finished the whole thing! We also ordered the fried shrimp po boy with the signature chips and gater nuggets. This is a local place and they definitely take care of the regulars first. I sat at a table for 20 min before anyone even came over to take my drink order while regulars that came in and sat at the bar were taken care of first. The food was good when I finally got it. However the music was SO loud and the smokers so smoky that we couldn't converse and one of our party was a little sick from the smoke. The waitress was very good and suggested some $$ saving ways to enjoy our happy hour. We'd probably go back for the food and maybe just ask that the music come down a decibel or two outside. Not sure what makes it French Quarter, but it was a good club. Crawfish po' boy was probably the favorite. Lots of fried crawfish, with a bunch of extra in the basket, that were tasty and tender. Gator bites were okay. The thing about gator is that it can get chewy when breaded and fried, and this was like that. I just prefer my gator in a gumbo. The chips that come with the sandwiches were excellent. Home made, spiced, hot from the fryer, and a whole lotta them in the baskets. read more

I stopped in this past Sunday January 21, 2024 to get a drink/snack after work around noon. I sat down at a table alone, and noticed another gentleman had done the same at the table next to me. The bar was clearly busy, it was lunch shift. And because everyone is understaffed lately, I was patient. Over 5 minutes went by and I didn't see anyone look my way, or to the other gentleman waiting. I still thought to be patient. Until I saw two people sit at one table, and two people sit at a second table. Both of those tables immediately received menus and ordered drinks. Their drinks were delivered. Those two tables were in the back corner. My table and the other gentleman's table were in the middle of the bar. I decided to leave. Kind of a bummer. read more

Every time I come here, I have such a great time. The food menu is inspired by New Orleans - French quarter, but have so many options! My boyfriend loves the fried shrimp Poe Boy with their Cajun sauce and I'm a big fan of the shrimp cocktail. What makes the experience is Nikki, the bar tender!! Who knew this little place had breakfast let alone great breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised the 1st time that we returned 10 days later. I'm simple guy, like pancakes. These didn't disappoint.
