Went to another event at Sky Lounge so we met another couple at Clancy's. We were there at the open, so we had a nice table on the patio. This time I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast sandwich along with a side of Cole Slaw and a side of Barbecue Baked Beans. The chicken sandwich was served on an Italian roll from the Hill. It was Fantastic! The flavor of the chicken was delicious and I didn't even need to use any mayo it was so good. I loved the beans as well. For dessert my wife and I split the Bread Pudding. OMG, it was the best Bread Pudding I've ever had. I'm sorry I didn't get my own. I will the next time. read more

This place is a classic institution out here in the Baldwin, but I feel like it's chesterfield area. Clancy's offers, Irish inspired bar and pub food ranging from corned beef and potatoes with cabbage to a classic Tavern burger with fries. The bar is fully stocked with American, Irish, Russian and everything in between liquor, beers, wines, and spirits for all to enjoy. Our night's like St. Patrick's Day and through the Linton season expect this pub to be packed from corner to corner to the heated patio outside. On busy nights you just have to kind of look and see for a table that's open or order takeout and enjoy sitting on the patio if you can't find seating on your own. Service can be a bit chaotic so I always recommend taking your time when wanting to visit this establishment on a busy night for regular dinner nights and lunch. It's a little bit slower so come and enjoy one of the weekly specials that will get you hooked on the environment and coming back for more. This restaurant is not very accessible for wheelchair users. There are a couple of steps around the restaurant and into the main dining room and the tables and boots are very close together so of traditional wheelchair will need a lot of adjustments to fit. read more

We are long time customers. Tonight my wife and I ordered the filet steak special, medium rare. It was overcooked which we would have overlooked. The steak was so salty it was beyond acceptable. I mentioned this to management and was given a cursory shrug. We were effectively blown off. After many years, decades actually, of feeling good about spending money locally here, and wanting to sponsor their efforts, our constructive and objective criticism in answer to THEM asking about our meal was treated as background noise. read more

Awful does not even begin to describe this place. Tables dirty, chair broken, utensils with caked on food (dishwasher not working here??), food was disgusting - could not eat it - walked away from it. Bathroom was filthy - no towels, sink did not work, floor littered with toilet paper shreds, toilet disgusting. Service is atrocious - the servers were so slow we had to wait 30" just to pay our bill and get out. NOTE: if we had been given our utensils prior to receiving the menu and ordering, we would have walked out right then. Unfortunately, our food came out the same time as the napkin-wrapped utensils. We had to ask for another set and of course waited an eternity to get the replacement. Why hasn't the health department shut this place down??!!! read more

I love this place. They have amazing weekly specials that keep bringing me back. Wed is burger night. $5 burger and fries and $1 for dessert (their bread pudding is to die for). It's not huge but my friends and I are always very satisfied and full. I have always gotten wonderful service and it has a very homey and unique atmosphere. Thurs steak night. I could go on. Merry Christmas West County! Go to Clancy's! The food never disappoints. We had to wait a little longer than usual to be seated, but that was on us. I recommend getting there earlier than 7:00 on a Friday night. Once we were seated our server Amy took care of us right away. The Christmas decor makes you feel like you are visiting at your Aunt and Uncles house down in the city. It just feels familiar. Welcoming. We had an order of the wings and shared a Rueben. Perfect. While we were finishing up I saw a sprinkle festive drink get carried past and asked about it. They have a pop-up Christmas drink menu! I had to try the Christmas Cookie. It did not disappoint. Weeknight dinner with friends. We arrived late, but the waitress was attentive, and still able to give us separate checks. Drinks were cold and refilled as requested. Steaks were cooked slightly over, no complaints, always order a bit under imho. My Reuben was delicious and the slaw was not great but not bad either. Steak sandwich has rave reviews as did the potatoes au gratin. Atmosphere was on par for a pub. Bathrooms were clean and servers were kind, patient and thorough. If not we're possible, I'd give them a 3.5. We ate lunch h here years ago and didn't go back again until last night. We never found a sign that said "seat yourself ", so we roamed through the dining room until we found someone to speak to and we're told to sit wherever there was an open table. We found a table and then just waited until a server came over to our area. I think we weee there close to 15 minutes before we got water and menus. Our server, Julia, was great! It didn't take long to get our food. We went there because we were in the mood for a great burger and I can't tell you how many people say theirs is the best in West County. Sadly, the burger did not live up to the hype. It was very average. It wasn't full when we got there, but close to it and it's noisy. It's not terrible, but it is loud. And there's stuff everywhere! And try their onion straws, a generous and tasty substitute (sub charge)! Casual pub with $6.95 lunch specials on weekdays including 6 oz. burger, Chicken breast sandwich, Smoked 1/2 Chicken or Clancy's Sausage (bratwurst) plus a side. Thursday is steak special with Strip steak and mashed potatoes for $10.95. I like it for the informal vibe and comfort foods, plus a good place for cold brew or spirits. Great gathering spot for a group or family, also have patio seating on a nice day. You know the meat is fresh with a butcher's meat case right up front at the restaurant - think they sell a good amount of butcher meat, and the restaurant is a bonus. Today I ordered a cheeseburger no bun with side salad - not sure what overcame me because normally I'd go for the fresh roll the burger is served on along with side of hot, unseasoned but salted French fries. Oh well, a healthier choice today! Burger cooked to your liking, and I had their homemade bleu cheese dressing, the only house made dressing. On a Tuesday night we gave ourselves 90 minutes to eat as we were going to a Christmas show next door at Sky Bar. It took 30 minutes to order drinks. We had to follow up with the server twice to find out where they were. We never received our waters. Our server had an attitude from the start. We then had to get up and find her to order food and more drinks. Two burgers one steak and one fried chicken. With only 15 minutes until Showtime we inquired where our food was and we're told it was next up. We inquired where our drinks were and they finally came. Our food came plated and cold. Ice cold. Evidently it had been sitting there for a while. Like forever. None of it was even warm. We all attempted to scarf down as much as we could quickly because we were hungry. Keep in mind we gave ourselves 90 minutes to eat at a casual restaurant. And now we have less than 5 minutes until Showtime and we're trying to eat cold food and pay the bill. We will never go back there. Bad service bad attitude bad food. They cram tables in so tight you cannot even walk through the restaurant. It was impossible for us to get any napkins until we finally got up and went to the station and got our own napkins. Are ketchup at the table was out so I got up and went to the station and got ketchup packets. But no one used them because all of our french fries were so cold and horrible . This was not an isolated incident. We had tables around us that were having the same issues. We were all chatting amongst ourselves about it. read more

There are two Clancy's Pub and I've been to both and never had a bad meal at either one. They used to have specials all during the week like $1 ribs on Wednesday, steak night on Sat, fried chicken night, $1 draft beer etc. This was all pre Covid and they just haven't come back to their previous menu probably due to the high prices of everything now. This a still a great local place with a good atmosphere, ice cold draft beer and a great staff that are always friendly and attentive but they don't hover over you pushing more beer. Love this place (the one on Kehr's Mill). The one just off of Old State isn't as nice and never had the atmosphere of the one on Ken's Mill, felt more like a Dive bar. read more

Excellent and unusual versions of marinated/fried chicken wings, chili, and pulled pork, with very good French fries and creamy cole slaw. Mom and I liked everything we ordered, and portions were so large that we took home enough for one more meal for me and two for Mom. Plus, a mistake made by a server inspired the butcher/chef to send me home with a FREE container of freshly made gumbo; I tasted it, and it's excellent! Another meal, there! Total, 2 lunches and tip, and 3 more take-home meals (with not even ordering from the less-expensive lunch menu for most items): $30! The butcher shop offered limited but great choices, all cut/ground/prepared on-site and to order. I bought a briscuit to use for Vietnamese pho soup, and it is very fresh, marbled well, and low-priced. 2.8#, $25. Would highly recommend except, for a few things: ---entrance is difficult to navigate for my mom (unsteady, and uses a cane), with a steep ramp and no railing to the front door, then high-rise steps inside; ---inside is too dark; ---it was too chilly (very cold outside, today). ---servers need to be updated on ingredients of homemade items. Found it! Yep, after months of searching for the best burger in West County, I declare it has been found! You might not have realized it was even lost. I have fined through greasy, dry, beef, bison, boring, tasteless, drive-through, over cooked, marginal and a few good burgers....and then...Clancy's. The smallest of their burgers, weighing in at 6 ounces, (burger sizes up to 12 ounces) Black angus beef hand ground by their butcher was the clear winner at first bite. Seasoned and cooked to perfection, the patty was full of flavor. Served on some sort of delicious, hot off the grill bread. Hold over your plate kind of juicy. Sides are additional. Fries are good, coleslaw (regular or sour) are just okay. Located in the Barn of Lucerne which used to be a dairy barn, so when gps brings you here, you're not lost, just head for the green awning. Pub fare here plus many bbq items and they even sell their own sauce. There is a butcher shop which is part of the restaurant. Specials run throughout the week. So, after eating burgers like an out of control carnivore, I believe I can take a break, maybe eat a salad, and highly recommend Clancy's, where I plan to become a regular. Knocked one star because the American cheese on my burger was not melted on and cold to the touch. (Husband's cheddar was melted on.) Also, was seated in a booth that had more peeling tape on it than vinyl and it just didn't feel good to be sitting on that. read more

We had a spontaneous Friday night dinner here last week and we were surprisingly impressed. We enjoyed the patio which was lit up by lights and we had the opportunity to enjoy the music from next door. Once the weather cools down I hope they light the fireplace out there! I was going to have the blackened chicken sandwich but they were sold out. Obviously I will have to come back because who sells out of chicken??? I mean that must be a good thing no? I settled for the burger and to my surprise it was delicious! My husband had the Roast Beef sandwich and he said it was a 10/10. We will definitely be back for the chicken and I might even pick up up a steak or two at the counter to grill at home. You can't miss it when you walk in, but they have a meat counter where you can buy your own and take home. Quaint, friendly atmosphere. We think the regulars are gen boomers and up. A tad run down, but hey, it's a pub. Food was OK, but not exceptional. She had pork steak with a dry BBQ rub. Steak was a little overdone (dry). He had brisket sandwich on French bread. The meat was very tender and moist but could have been trimmed a little more. Bread was "off the shelf" fare and the bottom piece pretty soggy by the time it hit our table. Hard to eat as sandwich since meat was sloughing out all sides. Great BBQ sauce which we assume is Clancy's recipe. Sides of potato salad and baked beans were good. Might have stretched this to a three star, but service was lacking. Blue Moon on tap was on the flat side and during entire meal wait staff did not check back to offer refills; a two beer meal thus limited to one. We sat with empty plates a good five minutes before waitress returned ... and place was not crazy busy. Him: "Check please." read more
