**SEASONAL DRINK: SALTED MAPLE MATCH** So delicious! Definitely tasted the maple! My first time visiting Nantucket and loved this little coffee shop. It's cute, cozy, and best of all, makes amazing coffee.

First time visiting Nantucket and I got to try Handlebar Cafe which is located right across the street from the bus terminal. It is a simple cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a selection of drinks including a variety of coffee drinks, teas and matcha latte. As a popular tourist spot, this location sells merchandise as well. There are a few hydrangea bushes outside. I tried their ice latte with vanilla and oatmilk. It wasn't too sweet and served with less ice as I requested. The service was quick and friendly. I would highly recommend.

Worth the wait in line! This place is small and quaint but full of flavor! The blueberry crumble latte is out of this world. The staff is friendly and fast at delivering lattes on a busy Sunday morning.

This is by far the best coffee/ cafe in town. We have visited every morning and have tried iced vanilla lattes, matchas, chias, pastries and their nitro cold brew! Their nitro cold brew is one of the best we've ever had. They also have a variety of different cold drinks to grab to go, and island papers to read while in line. The line moves fast, and they have plenty of staff working, and you're in and out! I think their drinks are VERY reasonably priced for what you get. Grab a bag of their beans to bring home. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Loved this coffee shop! Stopped by early in the morning, appreciate their hours! The place was already busy, good number of folks working inside, which is not surprising given the cozy vibe! Fast, friendly service and prices were reasonable! The coffee was tasty - didn't get any fancy, just their black coffee, which was full of flavor and perfectly hot! Will make sure to stop the next time I visit. Check this place out, I loved their patio.

Best coffee on the island? That's word on the street, and after trying 4 different places, I agree. My Americano was delicious. The service was quiet, but fine. There's seating on the inside, but we chose the director chairs on the patio and enjoyed the weather and foot traffic. Definitely go here to grab a coffee.

Highly recommend this cafe! Super welcoming and cute outdoor walk up and seating area. Inside is bright yet very cozy coffee shop energy. The music is upbeat yet not too much. The employees are friendly, and make the drinks very quickly even with constant customers. My cappuccino was made within a minute of ordering, and it was perfect! Not too sweet, not heavy at all. They don't seem to use sweetened almond milk. The espresso flavor was incredible. Added cocoa powder in the pic. 5/5.

I came here with my friend since we were staying in the area and wanted to check it out. They have a cute outdoor seating area, and some tables inside as well. Their drink menu is pretty extensive and they also have pastries and other light fare to eat. They sell coffee, hats and other merch with their logo on it and the service was great. I would definitely recommend if you find yourself in Nantucket.

I found this super cute freshly ground coffee shop on the island of Nantucket. It's not easy to find a place that truly has great coffee, even after reading reviews. The perception of great coffee truly lies with the individual and what might be great to one, not so much to the next. For me, Handlebar aced all my coffee needs, considering the availability of great coffee on the island is slim to none. Easy to order, and they have a cute few tables & chairs outside to sip & watch the people go by. It is also dog friendly with water bowls at the ready. It's kind of off the beaten path so it's not super busy. That made it all the more attractive to me. It's almost like a neighborhood joint with locals frequenting the place. It's also across the street from a bus depot which didn't really make any difference to the volume of people in the coffee shop.

Great coffee and service. Comfy spot to catch up with friends or meet new folks. Plus the baked goods are very good.

They can make any of their items, any time, love the concept. It is at the edge of the business district as you enter town from Falmouth. (The other end of Water St dumps into Buzzard's Bay!) It is but a block away from the Island Ferry's dock. Not only do passengers for the ferry count on it, so do the students and staff at the Marine Biological Lab and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and, of course, the myriads of tourists all summer, to add to the year around crowds. It can be swamped and relatively slow to get food if a ferry has just docked, so be patient, the huge staff is working as fast as they can. The inside seating is tight, but most locals take their food and drinks to go. The patio is mostly covered and can seat a lot of tourists like us. The Ferry riders also take to go if leaving and eat here if returning from the Vineyard and not taking the shuttle back to the huge parking lots in Falmouth right away. No matter what time of day we are in town, I have always ordered the same thing in recent years since it was added to the menu. I have never seen an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich served on a freshly baked popover anywhere else. I love popovers and always order when I find one in a unique version. My husband orders with more variety and he gets coffee and I get iced tea. If our stay is longer than this one, we also love taking out their freshly baked pastries. Every single staff member has always been helpful and courteous. You could never wish for anything more in this town, for these sorts of meals. It is not even expensive, not even in this day and age.

My wife had a ham and cheese sandwich with apple, and she devoured it. It was so tasty! The chocolate chip cookie was big, soft, and packed with chocolate. The outdoor patio was big and comfortable. The shop offers a house blend, dark roast and decaf choices of coffee, along with a flavorful blend that the staff selects each opening shift. Specialty drinks catering to the simple espresso sippers and cool cappuccino crowd are offered, as well as "Summer Sippers" like iced coffee, cold brew and iced teas. An extensive tea menu is also provided. Following its success, a second location opened in 2004 in the Woods Hole section of town. This location offers a full kitchen menu. It is very popular with visitors to the Upper Cape who are looking to grab a quick bite before boarding a ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. My family and I visited the Woods Hole location of Coffee Obsession recently when we were on a week-long trip to Cape Cod. We had just purchased ferry tickets to Martha's Vineyard at the Steamship Authority, and we were looking to grab a quick breakfast to bring onto the ferry with us. I scanned the menu and my wife and I decided to order a couple of Breakfast BLTs (Fried Egg, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Avocado, Mixed Greens and Sriracha Mayo on Toasted Multigrain Bread). For our toddler son, we ordered a blueberry muffin. Those sandwiches were exactly what we were looking for! So delicious and not overly filling; they really hit the spot. Our son loved his blueberry muffin; it was loaded with blueberries! We'll definitely visit if we're in the area again. Next time I'll definitely need to try their coffee!

Lemon Press is exceptional for its hospitality. At dinnertime in the downstairs dining room, black…read moretea is brought for the table as soon as you sit down, along with rock sugar and dates. As our beautiful (and possibly Persian-American) server explained, this tea is a symbol of welcome in Persian culture. You hold a bit of rock sugar in your mouth as you drink your tea, allowing the sugar to dissolve slowly, and follow it all up with a bite of sweet date. It's a beautiful act of cultural sharing and hospitality that nourishes one on so many different levels. Food at Lemon Press is meant to be shared. There is a section of dishes "for the table" that comfortably feed two. And there are small plates and sides that are meant to accompany. We chose two small plates and two large plates, which was plenty of food for our group of four. The ROASTED CHARRED CAULIFLOWER ($23; almonds, brown butter, golden raisin, caramelized cauliflower foam, crispy kale) small plate was nothing short of phenomenal. There were wonderful textural contrasts: crisp kale; firm, but yielding slivers of almonds; tiny, tender cauliflower florets. There was fragrant brown butter and delicately sweet, caramelized cauliflower foam. We have had some very, very good cauliflower preparations in our lives, including Balaboosta's fried cauliflower with currants and pine nuts, Miznon's whole roasted cauliflower with sel gris (even better with tahini sauce), and creamy roasted cauliflower soup (my favorite recipe to make at home). But Lemon Press's roasted charred version was, we all agreed, probably the best preparation of cauliflower we can remember having, something that would not be at all out of place at Eleven Madison Park. Our other small plate, a northern Iranian dish called MIRZA GHASSEMI ($19; smoked eggplant, tomato, garlic, turmeric, egg, barbari bread), was also well made, a well executed traditional preparation. It was creamy, rich, nourishing, with all the hallmarks of a perfect comfort food. The Progeny thought it was too strongly flavored to eat by itself, but it paired perfectly with golden-crusted, sesame-flecked barbari bread. We found our small plates to be stronger than our larger, shared plates. They were sadly out of the duck fesenjoon on our visit. (I'd been looking forward to trying this dish since our visit earlier in the summer.) In its place, we ordered the SHORT RIBS & CHIPS ($54; house salad, za'atar fries). Flavors were vibrant, the meat glazed with something sweet and salty -- but the flanken-cut short ribs were largely fat and gristle. The salad was wonderfully fresh, the fries crisp. The KHORESHT GHORMEH SABZI ($54; lamb shoulder, burnt herbs, red kidney beans, dried lime, tahdig) was a traditional northern style, made with slow-cooked tender lamb; spinach and not just herbs, I think; and the unmistakable sour/bitter/umami flavor of limu omani (dried lime). There was a pretty circle of tahdig (sort of the equivalent of socarrat) and saffron rice to accompany. The Fambly noted the strong resemblance to north Indian saag gosht -- no surprise given the strong historical influence of Persian culture in north India, both through Persianized Mughal invaders and Nader Shah's later invasion. The amchoor (green mango powder) used in saag gosht even somewhat recalls limu omani. We declined dessert, since we had to get back to the pup -- but the check came with four lovely macaroons, served on coffee beans, another gracious touch. We have become so very enamoured with Lemon Press over their years. Cousins and co-owners Darya Afshari Gault and Rachel Afshari have brought in the talented South African chef Lyall Frosler, who beautifully executes Persian, Persian-influenced, and non-Persian dishes. They've honed a deep sense of hospitality, rooted in a very ancient, very beautiful culture. We feel so lucky and grateful to have this food on Nantucket!

Breakfast (filling and tasty), açaí bowl with berries and honey (yum), midnight cold pressed juice, lemon ginger shot, iced matcha latte (too sweet), iced saffron cardamom (too sweet), iced latte (perfect). We were happy to end our trip here. The inside is summery with low and high tables near the bar. I had to ask for my drink twice because it appears they forgot it. The staff were friendly and apologetic. Loved it overall!

The low stars is due to them having three registers going screaming "next" as the pile of people that already ordered were piling up on each other plus strollers and they kept taking orders while one young lady was making the coffees, teas and smoothies.
