Glazed Donut
Lauren S.

I took my daughter here one weekend we dropped by Union Market. She was a little intimidated by the "fancy donuts" but we settled on just a glazed one and it was perfect! The donut was huge and fluffy and fresh.

Delicious! I've always passed the spot but never tried it. They've always looked so good! Today I needed something sweet to eat and stopped by. She had some really interesting flavors I wanted to try but ran out. That's okay, I'll be back, especially for that strawberry chai. Today I got the huckleberry cake and blueberry basil. Both were really good but I loved the base on the huckleberry more, I like the denseness of it. I'm excited to come back and try more!

I really wanted to love these donuts - they're so pretty, and the woman who helped me was great - but unfortunately, they were very dry. They definitely taste better warmed up, but I don't like when they're dry right from pickup.

Handcraft Doughnuts at Union Market is always tempting -- but bring your wallet. I grabbed a half dozen and, while good, they didn't quite wow me. At about $5 each, I expected more decadence. Some were a little dry, and I miss the richer fillings they used to offer. Overall taste? A 7.5/10. Still a solid spot if you get there early (they often sell out by the afternoon), but at these prices, I may pass next time

This is in the food hall portion of union market. My first thought looking at it is wow that's kind of a lot for a doughnut. But then I actually looked at the donuts and said oh I'll get half a dozen. This actually ended up being seven as apparently one of them came out on the smaller side so they offered me an extra. Having gotten them to share with others, they all ended up disappearing quickly, and I only got a little taste of the passionfruit one myself, which did deliver on flavor. It was a splendid looking spread, and the flavor choices were distinctive. Their website states that they are considering doing options for special dietary needs, but at the moment this is not the place for that. Perhaps they will expand into their own store.

Yummy donuts inside Union Market! They're not cheap but they're tasty and so worth it! There was a line here and I can see why! It's just that good. It was really hard to pick but I went with the brown butter maple and OMG, I want one (or two) like today. I always say I'm not huge on sweets, but this place is going to make me return soon. The service was top notch! Thank you!!

While out enjoying some beautiful weather in Union market, I noticed that the people next to me were eating donuts. As a self certified donut connoisseur, Sommelier, aficionado, I had to ask where they had purchased them. I also had some friends with me so this was a great opportunity to Induct them in to membership. We chose four donuts. The Matcha berry, the chocolate, the glazed, and the strawberry. The Matcha berry was our absolute favorite. The Matcha was not overly sweet, but gave a nice creamy experience and the very inside was fresh and a beautiful accompaniment to the Matcha. The chocolate is definitely a dark chocolate so it's a bit bitter. If you're looking for a sweet chocolate experience, this is not the donut for you. The glaze we rated a three on a scale of one to five. The inside was a bit dry and didn't have a great chewy mouth, Deal. The glaze was not overly sweet, which we lied. The other one with strawberry also got a 3.5 because we did enjoy the chewing us and the fresh berry experience. Overall, the donuts were good and when I'm back in the area, I will definitely get the Matcha again.

Brought 6 donuts to a party and they were the most popular item there hands down. I was elated to discover they've an earl grey flavor donut and loved all the different flavors we bought. Will definitely come back again for future to try out other flavors.

Blueberry cheesecake donut

This donut was everything I wanted and more. Look at it, it's perfect. So light and fluffy, every nook and cranny covered in glaze. There was also cheesecake filling beneath those perfectly juicy blueberries. Do you see the lemon zest and rosemary flecks? Like c'mon, no wonder they are called handcraft donuts. I don't even care that this donut was over $7 - it was big and made my day so much better. Please stay in Union market or open a storefront!

I absolutely LOVE these doughnuts! They're not too doughy! They're light and the perfect amount of sweat! ALLLLLLL the flavors, EVERY SINGLE FLAVOR IS delicious! It's genuinely difficult to choose and not get all of them every time! Everyone that works here is amazingly kind and they're always smiling. Always positive vibes and good eats! It's currently 1am & I want some right now LOL!!!

Got the yuzu ganache and I actually could taste the citrus. Loved the variety of flavors, they all looked so good. The donut dough itself was a little cakes for me but I still enjoyed it.

Banana cream donut

Service is great the individual shared suggestions based on her actively engaging in conversation with me to figure out my preference. But the actual donut was dry and lacked sweetness. Got the banana cream donut 5/10 too dry not enough filling

cookie n cream and glazed buttermilk donuts

if you like salty donuts or lemon bread, this is the place. I ordered cookie n cream thinking it was sweet but it salty. I tried glazed one as well but it tastes lemon which i'm not big fan of. other donut looked good tho.

Top: Blueberry basil, Bottom: Strawberry chai

Now y'all KNOW your girl knows how to eat, and apparently, we know how to keep the party going…read moreAFTER dinner, too! Because why were we already full from eating at a nearby restaurant, but somehow still found room for dessert? Listen, don't judge us! Mind your business! The Peach Cobbler Factory DC was just a quick little stroll from where we'd eaten. We told ourselves we were walking off dinner, but clearly, we were walking straight into some more calories! Now, if you've been to the Maryland location, just know the DC spot is giving a much smaller, more intimate situation. And when I tell you the people were IN THERE?! Whew! The DMV was outside and apparently everybody had the same sweet tooth that evening! But shoutout to the young man holding it down at the register! Because despite that crowd, he was moving that line with efficiency! No confusion, no unnecessary foolishness, just getting folks in and out. We LOVE to see it! Now let's get into why I really came here... that Peanut Butter Praline Brownie! YASSSSS!!! When I tell you that thing was RICH?! Not regular rich. I'm talking Potomac waterfront, big-house-in-Bowie, don't-ask-me-what-I-do-for-a-living RICH! Decadent. Indulgent. Sinful. The kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes after the first bite and reconsider every decision that led you to this moment... but in the BEST possible way! That brownie was NOT playing with anybody's taste buds! And if you're a chocolate and peanut butter lover, just know you're stepping into dangerous territory! Was I full? Absolutely. Did I need it? Not even a little bit. Would I do it again? WITHOUT HESITATION!

The wait was long considering there were four people in the restaurant and three workers. The lady taking orders was rather short with everyone. The weed smell didn't help. Even the delivery guys-uber eats and the like-were getting pissed at her. Additionally, orders were taken just to wait 15 to 20 minutes then be told some portion of their order was not available. It seems like one could know this much faster given that there were two guys working the back while she ran the register. Good dessert but not enough to wait for 35 minutes behind three other people.

Tatte never disappoints…read more Both their coffee and their food is wonderful. I also think they have excellent Cortado.

I honestly don't know where to start other than saying the baristas need to slow down, relax, and…read moretreat customers with respect. As someone who works in the industry and is very familiar with coffee and coffee shops, I was genuinely shocked by how rude and unprofessional the staff was. I ordered a house latte with an extra double shot, which made it a quad shot, and I also paid for extra ice and requested that it be served in a large cup. It wasn't a complicated order. When I saw a drink come up, I politely asked, "Is that mine by any chance?" The barista immediately told me to "hush" and said, "I'm not talking to you." I found that incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. When my drink was finally handed to me, I simply asked if the quad shot had been added since I had paid extra for it. Instead of answering my question, the barista ignored me entirely, and another employee had to respond. The employee, Taleisha Young, who was wearing glasses, was especially rude throughout the interaction. No customer should be spoken to that way, especially when they're simply asking about an order they paid extra to customize. Customer service and professionalism should be a priority, and this experience fell far below that standard. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience on other review platforms as well. I hope management addresses the behavior of its staff so other customers don't have a similar experience.
