    Double chocolate chip cookie
    Aarti B.

Delicious, warm cafeteria cookies - the service is a bit sour. There are classic cookies (size of my fist) and larger deluxe cookies (almost the size of my palm!) similar to Levain Cookies or Crumble Cookies, and brownies along with a handful of ice cream flavors. The cookies are quite sweet and it's best to eat them right away or reheat in the oven. They don't have the same effect when they are cold. At this location, it's very tight and cozy. No seating, quick in/out. The Brookie was divine and truly the stand-out with a brownie fudgy crust and chocolate chip cookie on top. If you can't choose between a brownie or a cookie, I'd go with the Brookie! The consistency was a spot-on! I ordered the classic Double Chocolate Chip Cookie and the server mixed it up and gave me a Chocolate Chip Cookie instead. The ooegy gooey classic Chocolate Chip Cookie reminded me of my high school cafeteria cookies, in a good way! As I had such a great experience and was determined to try the Double Chocolate Chip Cookie, I went back the next day! Sadly, it wasn't a sweet experience and left much to be desired. The Double Chocolate Chip was lukewarm and didn't have that ooegy gooey texture that I was hoping for. At $3.25, it didn't hit the spot and just okay. The apathetic server didn't smile and provided sour service. She clearly didn't want to be there. I can see why there are 3 star reviews. The service needs some work and the price point is a bit high for a simple cookie. I might come back to try the heavy weight S'mores cookie and Peanut Butter Cookies as well as the Dreamweaver Ice cream, which ran out. Maybe 3rd time will be a charm?

The cookies were delicious and satisfied my sweet tooth craving! I love that they had several options of milk available as well to wash these cookies down. After ordering pretty late, they called me to inform me that they ran out of the brownie blondie. They offered me 2 extra cookies of whatever they had available to compensate for this, which I really appreciated. This is the second time I've ordered from them!

After picking up lunch from a nearby restaurant, I decided to stop into Insomnia Cookies to grab a treat to take back to the office. They are doing construction near this shop so I think it may be easy to overlook the fact that's it's even there. There was only one person ahead of me in line. I ended up getting two cookies: a peanut butter cup cookie and a snickerdoodle cookie. I took them back to the office with me. I planned on eating one cookie after lunch and saving the other one for later. That didn't happen! I ate both cookies after lunch. They were so good! I mean...how could you resist warm, freshly baked cookies? Insomnia Cookies is a chain with locations around the US, so I'm bound to pop into another one at some point.

This was my first time stopping by. I didn't know what to expect; I actually thought you pick your cookie dough and then they bake it but it's actually different ice creams you can select on top of choosing whatever cookie you want. I would say this is super pricy considering the basic cookie but it is DC and opened late at night. Despite being late and fairly empty, they were super slow. I did notice two door dash drivers came by and instead of giving them their orders, they made them wait in line with us which was weird. They had one person working the register and another in the back. I had the chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookies; to be honest, subway cookies are better but again, I came for the experience. This is a very small cookie shop and there's no seating. There was parking across the a street but if the roads were busy, you'd probably have to park far and walk down or drop someone off to grab and go.

    Love the peanut butter traxxxx

Solid cookie (and ice cream) -- great for a late night treat. Yum. Located in most cities now that have a college presence.

Great cookies and ice cream. A delightful shop tucked away with great service. No where to sit inside but a great place for to-go desert.

Gluten-free chocolate chip cookie was a tad gritty but taste was spot-on. Bummed I can't have my usual chewy chocolate chip cookie.

Dined in restaurant on a Saturday around 8pm. When I approached the hostess table, she asked "table…read morefor 2?" even though I was by myself. She was most likely on auto pilot and appeared embarrassed when she realized it. I politely smiled and said (confidently), table for 1. We solo diners need to be loud and proud! I digress... Before being seated I found the restroom. I found it odd that it was extremely dim. The main dining room was brighter than the restroom! I also saw the Photo Booth. Interesting addition. $5 for pictures. I was seated at a small round table with two chairs by the window. The restaurant was plenty busy, and I'm just glad I wasn't asked if I wanted to sit at the bar (I didn't). My server Noel brought two bottles of water: still and sparkling. I requested lemon slices, which he brought. And I proceeded to finish the entire bottle of sparkling by the end of the meal...guess I was thirsty! But I appreciated the option of both. I forgot to ask for a straw, but saw them in a container at the register right behind my table, so I got one myself. After ordering I noticed a nearby table had some bread so I asked Noel if they served complimentary bread. He said yes and apologized for not bringing it initially. Not that I needed it, but I don't eat bread with butter often and this was a night out to indulge a bit. There were two slices, nothing special. My food arrived within about 10-15 minutes and looked so scrumptious. I ordered the lamb and short rib meatballs and Brussels sprouts. The meatballs were pretty good, but what made them even better was the tzatziki sauce. I didn't realize the green rice was on one side of the plate until I was almost done. That tzatziki sauce was really all I needed to go with the meatballs. It was cool and creamy to go with the dry, meatiness of the meatballs. I honestly wish there had been more of it! I did not finish the rice, which didn't look super appetizing because of the intense green color. I will say though, I'm not a fan of spicy food but the tzatziki had a kick. I think perhaps due to chopped jalapeños. I tried to avoid them once I realized. The Brussels were delicious! Roasted to perfection, not too charred and not too mushy. I requested the green goddess sauce on the side because I'm not a huge sauce person, but once I tried it, I couldn't stop. Again, the combination of the creaminess of the sauce with the flakiness of the Brussels was a genius pairing. During the meal the beverage manager stopped by. I didn't have any drinks with the meal, but perhaps I will return to see what they have. Noel brought the bill at my request, then brought over the portable device so I could pay at the table. While that process is efficient, it's always awkward leaving a tip when the server is standing right there. Anyhow, overall it was a good experience and a delicious meal!

It ended up being a little dry, but the fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and a hit with everyone at the table. My son had the NY strip steak with mashed potatoes and really enjoyed it. The steak was cooked well, and the mashed potatoes were incredibly creamy and smooth. I ordered the sugar snap pea salad with salmon, and it was exactly what I was looking for on a hot summer evening. The salad was fresh, light, and refreshing, with a subtle hint of mint that really made the flavors pop. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the salad. My friend ordered the sugar snap salad with chicken Milanese, and the portion was enormous. The chicken literally covered the entire plate! It looked delicious and would easily satisfy a hearty appetite. The Mac & cheese was cooked well with a nice crust on top. Overall, the food was fresh, the portions were generous, and there was something for everyone. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in DC.
