Had wanted to try this donut shop for a while and when I saw the Halloween specials I knew it was time! The shop hours are pretty limited and they are a small batch operation, so I'd recommend preordering. They sell the donuts out of Junge's stall in The Square food hall. Only negative was that the donuts weren't ready at my pickup time, so I had to wait an extra 15-20 mins. But lemme tell you, the donuts were incredible!! The dough was fluffy and unctuous, and each was filled with delicious creamy fillings. Even the mini ones had plenty of filling, toppings and glazes. Also extra points for edible garnishes that actually taste good. Both cookies on top of the Halloween specials were amazing. Definitely worth checking out the mini sampler of their 4 classic flavors for $10. The speciality big ones were $5 each. read more

Got here at 9:10 on a Saturday and they're not here. They're accepting pick-up orders and taking money, there's nothing mentioned on their socials about different hours, they state they're open everywhere, but there are just no staff or donuts here. As a donut shop? On a Saturday morning? I was sad when this place originally closed, but it doesn't feel like the staff even care. Judging by the other comments, this is not an isolated event. Found these guys walking around Western Food Hall. I was worried their donuts were not going to be fresh because they don't even have their own stall. They were more of a small podium with a cart of donuts next to it. Boy was I wrong! My donut tasted incredible. Soft, but also firm and doughy. A good balanced bite. The flavor was not-too-sweet. Let's start off by saying that the customer service was actually the reason why I walked over to the cart. The woman behind the counter greeted me from afar and that immediately caused me to think "hmmm I've never seen them before" prompting me to walk over and learn more. After walking over, I engaged in a wonderful conversation about the store location, hours of operation at the market, and was educated on how to pair the donuts with a particular coffee beverage. Excellent and knowledgeable service! Well, I knew that I could only indulge in 1, given that it was my cheat day. Wow! Honey, the Arequipe was DIVINE! The dough was so soft, buttery, and moist *chefs kiss* Topped with cheese crumble and dulce con Leche, the star of this show was the sweet, oozing, caramel center. These flavors combined was everything that I needed to melt away with each bite. I of course, couldn't consume the entire donut and it was large enough to share with someone else. What a beautiful way to enjoy some nice weather than with the perfect sweet treat. I am definitely going to visit them again and from the price list, you can see that it is very cost effective. I love any kind of food hall because I have the chance to try so many different foods. Today on the menu was the Arequipe, a donut topped with cheese. This donut was perfectly sweet without being too overpowering. Now at first I was like "5 dollars for a donut??". But tbh you pay for what you get and what I got was fantastic. Service was good and easy. It was a cart inside a market that has other little restaurants if you want something savory to compliment the sweet. This was a great donut. As the first and only certified, dignified, and sometimes mortified donut sommelier, connoisseur, aficionado I add this one to the list. It is inside of the La Consecha market, which is very cool, in the union market area. I went on a Friday afternoon, and I was intrigued to find that parking on the main street was free while parking on the side streets was not. Parking was relatively easy to find. Donisima is a standalone cart within the market. This means they are being made somewhere else and brought over to the cart. They were on a rack which was not a warming rack so you're not getting warm fresh out of the oven/oil donuts. I first requested a glazed vanilla, but was informed that they were sold out so I chose the chocolate and the coquito. He package them into the box I paid, and as I was walking away, I saw the glazed donut holes. I was surprised that when he told me that the full donut was sold out, but he didn't tell me. They had donut holes as an alternative. So I purchased those as well. The donut holes were about a 3.5 to 4. The glaze had a nice level of sweetness and the donut had a good texture. However, the larger donuts were a unique texture. I don't think that they are yeast or cake donuts. It had more of a bread consistency . I've never experienced a doughnut with that kind of texture before. The flavor of both were good, the Creme was tasty, but the consistency was just throwing off the whole experience. Inside La Cosecha, a market with Latin American makers, is a small artisanal doughnut stand open every day except Mondays. When I went on a Wednesday afternoon, they were selling four kinds. Such a pleasant and tasty experience at Donisima! Donisima is at a stand in the middle area of La Cosecha. The woman manning the stand was friendly, welcoming, and walked us through all of our options as we were first timers. My sisters and I ordered the Guava and Cheese donut, the caramel/dulce de Leche donut, and the mini vanilla donut bites. These were the freshest and tastiest donuts I've had in a long time. I personally love that they weren't overly sweet. The guava and cheese tasted complex and was delicious and satisfying. Will definitely return to try more. read more

It's been on my list to check out, and we just happened to be at an event at la cosecha and realized Donisima was there! We got there at 1:30 and sadly the only donut I really wanted from them, wasn't available. Dagger. Ordered the dulce de leche and chocolate lovers donut. Only tried a little of the dulce de leche and it was delicious! Lots of filling on the inside. Everyone who tried the donuts seems to enjoy them! Not sure if this is for the right location, but I visited the Donisima cart inside of La Cosecha. We came on the earlier side (before 2PM) and it seemed like all the flavors (5) were there. We picked up 5 for $5/each. One Amor Al Chocolate, two Guava & Cheese, and two Arequipe. All the donuts (even the guava & cheese with a hole in the middle) had a good amount of filling. The favorites were the guava & cheese and the arequipe. The guava & cheese had a good strip of guava jelly/filling inside and little guava jelly on top. The arequipe had a lot of dulce de leche in the middle, almost overflowing, so it could be a lot for some people. Chocolate was ok, wasn't too sweet but also not too much chocolate flavor. Should be worth a stop but a little pricey for donuts despite the interesting ingredients. read more

I wish Yelp had half stars because this would be a solid 3.5. The actual problem was that I ordered 5 donuts but only got 4. I should have checked before I left, but I didn't and then got home to find 1 missing. :( Maybe the new location in La Cosecha was part of the confusion but when you spend $5 on a donut, you do miss it when it's not there. Otherwise, these donuts were really good on flavor and texture (excellent texture!) but way too overfilled. Check out the picture of the chocolate one - the filling was super thick and very tasty, but it got everywhere and squished out when you took a bite. It was a lot, and I think that's why I got a little over-sugared just after eating 1. But truly the flavors we had were great. These donuts, just wow. My favorite was the Arequipa. All of the donuts are so unique and decadent, you can't go wrong with any of the choices! These are definitely some elevated donuts. Finding the place: Park on New York Ave or Fenwick; call 786-342-4543 and ask to pick up your delivery; walk on Fenwick away from New York Ave by the distillery a few hundred feet until you see a black door with a green sign for Union Kitchen; wait outside until your donuts are brought out. We had a hard time finding instructions and directions for how to pick up our delivery so hopefully this clarifies things for future donut lovers! read more

Checked out Donisima Donuts at their fabulous Yelp event today ... and boy they did not disappoint! The flavors were so fresh and pure without being overwhelmingly strong or sweet. Absolutely adored the Dulce de Leche donut (the cream inside was 10/10), and you can't go wrong with the classic vanilla bean (so light). These Donisima donuts were the perfect density in my opinion ... not as heavy as a cake donut but not as airy as a traditional donut - just perfect. Absolutely recommend for your next week treat in DC :) read more

Was led to these delicious treats by two articles that spoke of a father-son duo opening a pop-up shop for donuts with a Colombian twist. Our unofficial, unscientific, ranking: (1) arequipe; (2) amor al chocolate; (3) rum fashion; (4) guava and cheese; and (5) vanilla (my vanilla-freak other half would bump this up 2 levels). Clear that these were made with a lot of care and thought and invention. The dough was soft and airy, the fillings were delicate and flavorful, the toppings were appreciated but sometimes lost in the mix. For instance, the queso fresco streusel sounded interesting, but we the taste was so slight. The rum fashion combo of flavors sounds splendid, but I wish that there was more orange confit/flavor. The guava in the guava and cheese donut was also very subtle. But, overall, the donuts were fun and delicious. If in the area, would probably given them a try. We ate them with some stout beers from the Other Half Brewery down the street We waited a bit for them -- which is good and bad -- the wait guaranteed they were fresh, but waiting outside on the sidewalk was a bit awkward.
