Warm robust coffee and a fancy donut. Mid morning, the food hall is quiet and you can get some work done.

    Donut was perfecto!

Found these guys walking around Western Food Hall. I was worried their donuts were not going to be fresh because they don't even have their own stall. They were more of a small podium with a cart of donuts next to it. Boy was I wrong! My donut tasted incredible. Soft, but also firm and doughy. A good balanced bite. The flavor was not-too-sweet. As an Asian girl, saying something is "not-too-sweet" is the ULTIMATE compliment. This place needs their own brick & mortar because they are very talented.

I'm always on the hunt for a well crafted donut--and these are easily the best I've had in DC. Rich flavors, not over the top, well balanced and a little bit of everything for any palette. While the Donisima menu is part of the Junges storefront, I believe it is its own entity. I believe because the menu was integrated into the Junges storefront the hours are more consistent. 10/10!

*starts to sing* Heaven, donut Heaven!!!!! Just the words which comes to mind after the sweet experience I had earlier today at their location at Western Market. Let's start off by saying that the customer service was actually the reason why I walked over to the cart. The woman behind the counter greeted me from afar and that immediately caused me to think "hmmm I've never seen them before" prompting me to walk over and learn more. After walking over, I engaged in a wonderful conversation about the store location, hours of operation at the market, and was educated on how to pair the donuts with a particular coffee beverage. Excellent and knowledgeable service! Well, I knew that I could only indulge in 1, given that it was my cheat day. Wow! Honey, the Arequipe was DIVINE! The dough was so soft, buttery, and moist *chefs kiss* Topped with cheese crumble and dulce con Leche, the star of this show was the sweet, oozing, caramel center. These flavors combined was everything that I needed to melt away with each bite. I of course, couldn't consume the entire donut and it was large enough to share with someone else. What a beautiful way to enjoy some nice weather than with the perfect sweet treat. I am definitely going to visit them again and from the price list, you can see that it is very cost effective. The size of the donuts are worth the price!!!!!! Sooooo, if you're in the area and need a great place with good customer service and excellent donuts...check them out! Support businesses that leave a good mark in the tummies of their customers.

I love any kind of food hall because I have the chance to try so many different foods. Today on the menu was the Arequipe, a donut topped with cheese. This donut was perfectly sweet without being too overpowering. Now at first I was like "5 dollars for a donut??". But tbh you pay for what you get and what I got was fantastic. Service was good and easy. It was a cart inside a market that has other little restaurants if you want something savory to compliment the sweet. This was a great donut. Filling, sweet and had a great combination of flavors. Im excited to come back to try some of their others!

As the first and only certified, dignified, and sometimes mortified donut sommelier, connoisseur, aficionado I add this one to the list. It is inside of the La Consecha market, which is very cool, in the union market area. I went on a Friday afternoon, and I was intrigued to find that parking on the main street was free while parking on the side streets was not. Parking was relatively easy to find. Donisima is a standalone cart within the market. This means they are being made somewhere else and brought over to the cart. They were on a rack which was not a warming rack so you're not getting warm fresh out of the oven/oil donuts. I first requested a glazed vanilla, but was informed that they were sold out so I chose the chocolate and the coquito. He package them into the box I paid, and as I was walking away, I saw the glazed donut holes. I was surprised that when he told me that the full donut was sold out, but he didn't tell me. They had donut holes as an alternative. So I purchased those as well. The donut holes were about a 3.5 to 4. The glaze had a nice level of sweetness and the donut had a good texture. However, the larger donuts were a unique texture. I don't think that they are yeast or cake donuts. It had more of a bread consistency . I've never experienced a doughnut with that kind of texture before. The flavor of both were good, the Creme was tasty, but the consistency was just throwing off the whole experience. Unfortunately, these will go into the category of they were awful, but I'm not running back to get more.

After reviewing a couple of spots in the Union Market area of D.C., I ran across a DONUT stand! My weakness!! Artisanal Donuts at that!! Let's see what they're hittin on... . Where I am: @donisima_dc . Location Reviewed: 1280 4th St., N.E. Washington D.C. (inside of the La Cosecha building). . Menu Includes: Artisanal Donuts . Items Reviewed: Their Classic (Vanilla Bean Glaze $4.50). STAMP!! Fluffy, warm, rich, with a PERFECT layer of vanilla glaze!! Their Amor Al Chocolate (55% Chocolate, & Hazelnut $5). STAMP!! This Donut was topped & filled with rich chocolate!! Their Arequipe (Cheese Crumble, & Arequipe Cream-Dulce de Leche $5). STAMP!! Again this donut was filled with a sweet, caramel based cream!! Their Pina Colada (pineapple, coconut curd, & rum $5). STAMP!! The filling on this tasted like a custard, like an éclair...fruity & refreshing!! Their Guava & Cheese (Cream cheese frosting with guava curd $5). STAMP STAMP!! My FAVORITE DONUT EVER!! A sandwiched donut that is lite, not overly sweet, & exotic in taste!! You've never tasted any like this one, well worth it!! Their Donut Bites (Mini glazed Donuts $4). STAMP!! Warm, sweet, & tasty!! . Customer Service: On Point!! . Online Navigation: Easy. . Parking: Rough on the street, but they have an inside parking it that's free for 3 hours. . Recommendations: I know..$5 for a donut...but Good People...they were well worth it...ALL OF THEM!! =STAMP =LIKE THAT =DELICIOUS =DECENT =PASS =NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

Inside La Cosecha, a market with Latin American makers, is a small artisanal doughnut stand open every day except Mondays. When I went on a Wednesday afternoon, they were selling four kinds. For just over $4, I ordered the vanilla glazed. With lots of icing, my fingers got sticky, but the doughnut itself was tasty and had good texture.

I wish Yelp had half stars because this would be a solid 3.5. The actual problem was that I ordered 5 donuts but only got 4. I should have checked before I left, but I didn't and then got home to find 1 missing. :( Maybe the new location in La Cosecha was part of the confusion but when you spend $5 on a donut, you do miss it when it's not there. Otherwise, these donuts were really good on flavor and texture (excellent texture!) but way too overfilled. Check out the picture of the chocolate one - the filling was super thick and very tasty, but it got everywhere and squished out when you took a bite. It was a lot, and I think that's why I got a little over-sugared just after eating 1. But truly the flavors we had were great. I think the rum + orange was my favorite followed by the guava.

The donuts are very soft and not overly sweet , the arequipe and guava and cheese were my favorite donuts. I am not much of a filled donut , so next time I would probably do the donut bites

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! I cannot recommend them enough, this will surely be my first stop every time I am in DC!

The space is a pretty cute, modern café with cherry blossom décor and a great mix of sweet and savory pastries. We honestly tried almost everything Garlic Scallion Bun - Soft, lightly toasted with just the right crunch. Inspired by a Taiwanese garlic bun, it was super easy to eat and one of my favorites (9/10). Matcha Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - A rectangular croissant absolutely loaded with matcha and chocolate, topped with matcha powder. It was almost a bit too heavy on the matcha for me, and the bitterness overpowered the chocolate. Banana Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - Banana cream on top with banana chocolate inside. Pretty straightforward--tasted exactly like what you'd expect from a banana chocolate croissant. Ube Cheese Kouign Amann - Unique sweet-and-savory combo. The ube adds a subtle sweetness while the cheese gives it a creamy balance. Rich and slightly dense, and I just wished there was a bit more filling to balance the pastry. Miso Garlic Salted Bread - One of my top picks. Savory, buttery, and paired with a slightly sweet brioche-like base that balances everything really well. Elote Bread - Corn-topped savory bread with a nice sweetness and texture. This and the miso garlic bread were tied for my favorites. Strawberry Passionfruit Kouign Amann - Fruity and rich, but a bit filling overall. I just wished there was more filling to balance the pastry. Sugared Donut - Simple and classic, just a soft, sugary donut done right. Drinks: * Strawberry Matcha & Mango Matcha - Both layer fruit puree with matcha, but the flavors stay quite separate rather than blending together. * Vietnamese Coffee with Cold Foam - Strong coffee base with strawberry-flavored cold foam. It's pretty sweet overall with less of a coffee-forward taste, but still smooth and enjoyable. * White Mocha Latte - More coffee-forward compared to the sweeter drinks, which I actually preferred. Overall, I loved my visit--great spot for both savory and sweet pastries with creative flavor combinations and a lot to try. I definitely preferred the savory items over sweet here particularly the garlic scallion bun!

I was so excited to try some of these harder to find pastries. I had a Turkish beef börek and a cheese finger börek. They warmed them up for me, but they still weren't very warm - I'd probably ask for them to warm them up twice next time. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
