    Bun rieu oc
    Eric F.

This place is pretty legit. It's tucked in a strip mall, and when I got there around 2pm there was only one other table occupied. I ordered the bun rieu oc, and the first taste of the broth honestly blew me away. The flavors were so deep and layered, just straight umami on umami. Everything, from the herbs to the toppings, tasted super fresh. I didn't grow up in a Vietnamese household, but I make it a point to hunt down bun rieu whenever I'm around the Garden Grove area, and I'd easily put this spot in my top two. The other place I loved unfortunately closed, so I'm really glad I found this one. Can't wait to go back.

We came in for lunch Friday. The place was nice, clean, quiet with 12 tables but there were no guests. We were the only couple there for 2 hours. There were no pick up orders either. This place is dead. We ordered 2 bun rieu oc cua dong $16, which is highly rated here. The bowl was good sized, came with lots of proteins, chunks of crab cake, fish cake, blood cubes, also lots of greens and herbs, shredded papaya bud and morning glory, very authentic. The soup was tasty but very fishy due to the frozen mud crab cake, difficult to eat. I bought this item from market and had the same fishy odor problem. The crabs were not processed and frozen fresh due to lack of refrigeration equipment. They get spoiled in the process. Even 5-star resorts in Vietnam have problems with spoiled and fishy smelling seafood due to spoilage. In HCMC Bun Rieu Ganh and Banh Canh Cua Ca Mau near Ben Thanh market got 1 Michelin star each but their soups also smells and tastes way too fishy due to spolied crabs, not good to eat. They also have very few clients. In Little Saigon CA, Bun Ba Ba on Westminster Ave served the same fishy bun rieu cua dong with fishy-smelling mud crab cake, not popular. The place closed down after a couple years. I have not tried other dishes at Han's Kitchen, but their complete lack of clients for lunch on Friday is proof of problems. The other well-known bun rieu place, Van Rest on Brookhurst, serves nice clean, tasty, creamy, good-smelling bun rieu crab soup, very popular, packed with hundreds clients day and night. I want Han's Kitchen to succeed. They should modify their recipes and menu. Good luck.

First time here, very cozy little place. I think menu only consists of 2 items. Phở and bun rieu . I can't decide so I ordered both, ate the bun rieu there and took the Pho to go. I must say both were legit. Bonus , I love the fact that they have everything you need at your table. Straws , chopsticks , dipping plate, napkins . Yes the obvious but I don't understand why some restaurants don't do it. Staff was attentive and quick. Definitely will return for 2nd round.

Got to go, one portion that easily turn into 2 portions. Generous with the broth. The place is new and in the shopping plaza, they do have big parking lot but careful since there are homeless hanging around there. The place is clean and well organized. Tables are closed together so can be tight. Nice and friendly service. The soup is tasty and delightfully with full flavor. Generous topping. Really the soup. Price wise, great for the portion.

Omg this is absolutely my favorite bun rieu spot. The broth is light and crabby, plus I love everything that they add in it. And the snails are the perfect size and is fresh. I've been to Vietnam and eaten their bun rieu but this place might be better. This is probably my 5th time here. I believe the owner is a husband and wife and they are super sweet and welcoming. I just wished more people knew about this hidden gem. I got the run rieu special, which has everything.

    Bún riêu cua đồng

We have been going to since opening and they have the best Bún Riêu Cua Đồng in town. The restaurant is squeaky clean and the service is excellent.

Came here on a Sunday at around 2:15 pm with my mom. It was pretty empty. This place is an eatery inside the Vietnamese grocery store. I was craving bun rieu and she recommended this place. I've seriously never eaten bun rieu at a restaurant. I've only had it at home settings made by my mom or her friends. I thought the bun rieu tasted good and it came out hot. I need my soup broths hot! Also, they were generous with the tofu and meats. However, my bowl did not have any blood cubes but my mom got like 3 or 4 so she shared with me. I would recommend this place. I'd probably come back with my sister so she can try it. I support small businesses.

First time trying Bun Rieu and I liked it. Store was very clean and the staffs are very kind and attentive. Price is very reasonable. I will come back to try Bun Bo Hue.

the best Crab soup , Bun rieu cua dong in little Saigon . this is hidden charm just only 10 minutes from Asian Malls Phuoc Loc Tho . the broth tastes like back home in viet name . highly recommend it . definitely . coming back

    new location

SOFT OPENING IN NEW LOCATION! (much cooooooolleerrrrr than the old one) This Vietnamese restaurant deserves all the hype and more! I've tried their bún riêu, bún bò, cơm gà, and phở, and every dish is delicious--but their bún riêu is truly on another level. The broth is so rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced that I'm convinced no other place can beat it. It's easily their signature dish, and it's worth coming back for again and again. Besides the amazing food, they have body mist in the restroom and they even give out free cute candies. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the atmosphere is cozy. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese comfort food with standout flavors and extra charm, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

We got: Taiwanese soup noodle (5/5): new on the wall and wanted to try. Lots of good beef pieces in the soup, and not too heavy on the spice. Mine came with intestine, others had a fried chicken or dumplings which was really good and meaty. I like how all combos came with a sauce to accompany it Oxtail noodle soup (5/5): slightly spicy, very satisfying. Tender oxtail Overall so good and will be coming back! The chicken wings were phenomenal. We got all flats, which I'm not sure if they normally serve it like that. They were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and just enough seasoning. The broth was super tasty. The oxtail cooked well. The noodles were in my opinion too soft. That's fine, my granddaughter likes him a little soft. The service was service, not bad or good. It was a small place, felt a little chaotic. Would I go back, if I was in the area probably.

Has a couple of bigger tables (4 seater)…read moreif you want to come here with family, quite chill, 3% surcharge on credit card, decent plaza parking. Service chill, can pay at register in the front, like typical viet restaraunt where they kinda leave you to it. The Grandpa's noodles was good (a dryer noodle), great portion, meat was tender, the radish cube looking things was crispy bits of pork skin. The menu is unique here and mostly in vietnamese. I think I had wished for some sauce to go with the noodles (but I understand its mostly with the soup on the side), good tightness of the meatballs :D... They have the classic condiments on the side, the pickled garlic isn't very crunchy and kind of on the sweet side, the pickled chili does have that slight acidic kick that works well. I modified my noodle to egg for a dollar. The soup was good, on the more umami soy/beef side than clear. The wontons were abundant too, instead of a chili oil the sauce is more like a tangy sweet chili vinegrette thing. My accompaniment got a garlic noodle soup (fried garlic oil) that was rich and also in a huge bowl. For the price and portion its a hidden gem for someone who needs to feed a family. Not like gourmet, but good enough! Omg, also I missed the corn milk :((

I picked the Sò Lông Nướng Mỡ Hành & it was really good. But then I felt something hard when I was chewing & I think I chipped part of my tooth - I'm going to go home & have my boyfriend check it for me & I'll attach the photo of my chipped tooth. Anyway, I have a crown cap so I wasn't super alarmed, but still a bit shook. I still finished my food but I politely tried to let one of the cashiers know. I showed him & everything & he was apologetic & asked what they could do to fix the situation. So I asked for a refund. And the other cashier said in Vietnamese something about me, like "Con nhỏ này" & I thought maybe he's talking about something else-but then when he gave me the receipt of my refund, he said "and I don't want you to be a customer here anymore." I was very appalled and I stood there wondering if he really just said that to me after I had an experience. I asked him why he didn't want me to be a customer anymore. And he turns to a customer to ring them out, ignoring me. So I waited til he was done with that transaction & repeated my question. He flat out said "because you're annoying." WOW. That's just so rude. And unfortunate bc I thought the food was really good & wanted to come back for the clam & the sweet corn milk. So I definitely wouldn't want to be a customer anyways with that kind of attitude towards a customer. Btw they give you plastic utensils here even for dining in which is a con.
