Great little restaurant in the heart of Garden Grove. Literally situated on the corner of the strip mall. Ample parking. Restaurant is clean, spacious, and bright. Service is quick and friendly. Although our drinks came out after our food did, we just figured our drinks just took extra time to be made. No biggie. Authentic northern Vietnamese style food. My mom ordered canh bun, I had bun dau mam tom, and my husband ordered the com bo luc lac. Everything came out quick and was beautifully plated. The flavors were very fresh and not disappointing. My mam tom was pungent as expected but not too pungent. Everyone was very happy with their food. My mom ordered a hot vietnamese coffee, husband ordered Thai tea, and my girls shared an Oreo shake. That famous dish that Obama and Bourdain ate is here (bun cha Hanoi) if you were curious or know you love it and have been searching high and low around OC to find it. Food here is made fresh down to even the sauce for your goi con (fresh spring rolls). If you're a fish fan, try the cha ca Thanh long but just know the sauce is pungent. If you can get past that, it's ridiculously delicious with the noodles and fresh aromatic herbs and vegetables. Place is modern. Good parking. Service is a little slow which is why I didn't give all stars but with some effort you can flag someone down to help you. They're a small business run with a small staff so if you keep that in mind, you'll see they're doing their best and are very kind. read more

As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Food tasted alright, but there is a rumor that the veggie sides ordered included for most dishes, not used, are given back to some patrons who order their dishes. Fresh untouched, and unused veggies are a Viet staple. Im all for not wasting food but simply washing and letting un-used veggies soak not only Re-clean but hydrate the veggies for a crispy freshness sanitized, which is so important now. I got limp veggies looking used and half dead, this does no represent Vietnam, its truly a shame. This is a newer location that just moved, but the quality has diminished. Especially my Bun Rieu! Wow did they lower the quality of this dish! The noodles turned bright orange, not keeping the natural fresh noodle color ill show you the examples...(notice the orange noodle were made by this place) and by was it tasteless! If you are craving for a good bowl of bún riêu then you are in for a treat at Ha Noi Corner. Their Bún riêu cua lột Hà Nội (soft-shell crab, tomato and tofu vermicelli soup - Ha Noi style) is as good as it gets. The eye-catching broth, the wonderful aroma along with the different textures of the ingredients make their bún riêu cua lột absolutely fantastic. I have been there so many times and only a few times in which I was able to order something else. Don't get me wrong, they have many delicious dishes here but Bún riêu cua lột Hà Nội is my go to dish! Variety of food from Hanoi which cannot he found around Bolsa very often. I was craving for a bowl of bun rieu, and found this place on yelp. I've never had Ha Noi style bun rieu, but I'm glad I discovered this! The basics are the same: crab noodle in a tomato base soup. This place doesn't serve it with pork blood, but they do have a full soft shell crab in the soup! And yes, the entire crab is edible! The vibrant colors from the red tomatoes and fresh green veggies made this dish pop! The flavors were also great and had a strong crab aroma. The side of "salad" (a small plate of lettuce and tomato slices) was also nice to have. I ate it with a lot of the pickled garlic. Definitely a filling meal. The restaurant has a lot of seating, but it can get a bit warm. We were seated near the door but were feeling the heat throughout our meal! They have one of the best egg noodle soups around. The broth is perfectly balanced and well seasoned, the egg noodle is well made, with generous toppings. The dry version of the egg noodle is equally delicious. You can't go wrong with either selection. I'm always surprised at their affordable prices. These days you can't really get a good bowl of noodle soup for under $18-$20. Here you can get a solid bowl for just $8 during happy hour! Whaaat?! Crazy! That is such a great price that I almost feel like I'm robbing them. LOL. During this recent visit, I wasn't too hungry so I just got a small bowl of wonton soup for just $7. It comes with 5 pieces of wontons. The only disappointing thing was that it doesn't come with one of my favorite toppings - tóc mỡ. It would've cost $2 to add it. I really wish they did include it. I also got some grilled pork skewers. Though a little soft, they were pretty delicious - nicely seasoned, flavorful, and make a great appetizer. I also love that they're open late - till 11PM!

I loved the mustard green soup just like the way we made at home in the old country. The greens crisp tender, the broth slightly sweet and savory. The fried tofu with the crispy pork bits sits a pool of sauce exemplifies part of what is great about traditional Viet cooking: heavy on plant based food while the animal products is meant heighten the flavor. Finally the shrimp and pork caramel dish compliments the soup and the tofu for even more flavor and texture of the shrimp peel (totally edible). They welcome customers with a big smile and a polite manner. This location is kind of tiny but it's always clean and fresh. However, it's located at a hidden place (on the corner of Beach/Hazard, same building with Hoa Phat) so if anyone plans to go there, just drive slowly to find it. The fresh veggies helped balance the flavors as well. The portion was very small though- only two rolls! -$16 Garlic noodles: delicious and garlicky, but very oily. The shrimp were big, but slightly overcooked, so they were dry. -$15 Bo ne: a childhood classic! Dip the banh mi in the egg, or layer on a bit of everything in the banh mi for a hearty bite. The steak was juicy and easy to cut. I liked the spicy links which added more flavor to the meal. Overall, I enjoyed each dish. The flavors are all very familiar with what I ate growing up.
