Great little restaurant in the heart of Garden Grove. Literally situated on the corner of the strip mall. Ample parking. Restaurant is clean, spacious, and bright. Service is quick and friendly. Although our drinks came out after our food did, we just figured our drinks just took extra time to be made. No biggie. Authentic northern Vietnamese style food. My mom ordered canh bun, I had bun dau mam tom, and my husband ordered the com bo luc lac. Everything came out quick and was beautifully plated. The flavors were very fresh and not disappointing. My mam tom was pungent as expected but not too pungent. Everyone was very happy with their food. My mom ordered a hot vietnamese coffee, husband ordered Thai tea, and my girls shared an Oreo shake. That famous dish that Obama and Bourdain ate is here (bun cha Hanoi) if you were curious or know you love it and have been searching high and low around OC to find it. Food here is made fresh down to even the sauce for your goi con (fresh spring rolls). If you're a fish fan, try the cha ca Thanh long but just know the sauce is pungent. If you can get past that, it's ridiculously delicious with the noodles and fresh aromatic herbs and vegetables. Place is modern. Good parking. Service is a little slow which is why I didn't give all stars but with some effort you can flag someone down to help you. They're a small business run with a small staff so if you keep that in mind, you'll see they're doing their best and are very kind. read more

The sauce was creamy (the eggs made it even creamier), and dipping my fresh baguette into it was soooo yummy! I added chili oil to it though for some spice. Delicious! The side of "salad" (a small plate of lettuce and tomato slices) was also nice to have. I ate it with a lot of the pickled garlic. Definitely a filling meal. The restaurant has a lot of seating, but it can get a bit warm. We were seated near the door but were feeling the heat throughout our meal! I don't think the AC was on, and there were no fans for air circulation. Props to the workers for working in a warm environment!

They have one of the best egg noodle soups around. The broth is perfectly balanced and well seasoned, the egg noodle is well made, with generous toppings. The dry version of the egg noodle is equally delicious. You can't go wrong with either selection. I'm always surprised at their affordable prices. These days you can't really get a good bowl of noodle soup for under $18-$20. Here you can get a solid bowl for just $8 during happy hour! Whaaat?! Crazy! That is such a great price that I almost feel like I'm robbing them. LOL. During this recent visit, I wasn't too hungry so I just got a small bowl of wonton soup for just $7. It comes with 5 pieces of wontons. The only disappointing thing was that it doesn't come with one of my favorite toppings - tóc mỡ. It would've cost $2 to add it. I really wish they did include it. I also got some grilled pork skewers. Though a little soft, they were pretty delicious - nicely seasoned, flavorful, and make a great appetizer. I also love that they're open late - till 11PM!

Food tasted alright, but there is a rumor that the veggie sides ordered included for most dishes, not used, are given back to some patrons who order their dishes. Fresh untouched, and unused veggies are a Viet staple. Im all for not wasting food but simply washing and letting un-used veggies soak not only Re-clean but hydrate the veggies for a crispy freshness sanitized, which is so important now. I got limp veggies looking used and half dead, this does no represent Vietnam, its truly a shame. This is a newer location that just moved, but the quality has diminished. Especially my Bun Rieu! Wow did they lower the quality of this dish! The noodles turned bright orange, not keeping the natural fresh noodle color ill show you the examples...(notice the orange noodle were made by this place) and by was it tasteless! This was my fourth visit to Ha Noi Pho, where we ordered Bun Rieu, Bun Cha Ha Noi, and Banh Tom Co Ngu. - **Bun Rieu (Vietnamese Crab and Tomato Vermicelli Soup):** The taste is excellent and reminds me of the Bun Rieu from South Vietnam. The addition of softshell crab on top is a nice touch. However, it's disappointing that Elsholtzia ciliata (Kinh Gioi) leaves are missing. Without them, the dish doesn't capture the true essence of Bun Rieu. Overall, it's a great bowl, but the absence of Kinh Gioi costs it 2 stars. - **Bun Cha Ha Noi (Hanoi Rice Vermicelli with Grilled Pork Patties/Meatballs):** The dish was overly sweet and lacked any special qualities. - **Banh Tom Co Ngu (Shrimp & Sweet Potato Fritter):** This is a delightful dish. I arrived at the restaurant around 9 PM on Wednesday and noticed that there were approximately five occupied tables. However, both the waitress and waiter didn't appear to be in a happy mood. It seemed that their personal circumstances were affecting their demeanor, rather than our arrival. As a result, the service was average without any standout elements. When we asked questions, they provided answers, but nothing exceptional. The food was decent but didn't offer anything particularly special for us. Additionally, the noise coming from the neighboring restaurant was quite bothersome. All in all, it wasn't an enjoyable environment to fully appreciate our meal. If you are craving for a good bowl of bún riêu then you are in for a treat at Ha Noi Corner. Their Bún riêu cua lột Hà Nội (soft-shell crab, tomato and tofu vermicelli soup - Ha Noi style) is as good as it gets. The eye-catching broth, the wonderful aroma along with the different textures of the ingredients make their bún riêu cua lột absolutely fantastic. I have been there so many times and only a few times in which I was able to order something else. Don't get me wrong, they have many delicious dishes here but Bún riêu cua lột Hà Nội is my go to dish! Variety of food from Hanoi which cannot he found around Bolsa very often. Simple delicious straightforward Vietnamese food. I come here very often with my family. My kids who usually don't eat Vietnamese food loves rose come here and eat! I have basically tried everything on the menu and I have to say they are all very up to standard. I'm honestly a regular here and I haven't been able to post a review but this place definitely deserves a try! There is very little parking so be aware of that. Also you have to order the green tea Thai tea and ask for less sugar if you can because it seems to be a bit sweet and never ask for less ice their ice is the best lol. read more

I expected more fresh veggies, herbs & a colder dish, I received a warm soup to pour over my noodles. I've been to Hanoi, Vietnam so my expectations are always high given the fact that bun Cha is one of my favorite dishes. I also ordered their jasmine milk tea with white boba since they ran out of the black boba & it was amazing. I was craving for a bowl of bun rieu, and found this place on yelp. I've never had Ha Noi style bun rieu, but I'm glad I discovered this! The basics are the same: crab noodle in a tomato base soup. This place doesn't serve it with pork blood, but they do have a full soft shell crab in the soup! And yes, the entire crab is edible! The vibrant colors from the red tomatoes and fresh green veggies made this dish pop! The flavors were also great and had a strong crab aroma. We ordered "bun dau mam tom" and "bun cha ha noi". For us, "bun dau mam tom" is good, but "bun cha ha noi" is not tasty at all. The soup is so bland and the meat is total lean not having a little fat (pork belly should have been used for this dish); also the meat is thick and dry. I double-checked with them before I went and while I was waiting in line for table if they still have the porridge, they said yes just to keep me waiting in line. 10 mins later when I finally got to my table and order, they said no more porridge...It has happened many times now. It had this depth of flavor and when added to the Banh beo, it just made it soooo addicting, what a great start Banh Xeo- 100/10 it comes in 4, and they make it smaller than most places BUT it's super crispy and they give you rice paper to roll it up as spring rolls! I'm used to the lettuce wraps and never had them as spring rolls, but now I can't imagine not eating them as spring rolls! the flavor and texture of the crepe was amazing and we absolutely housed this dish. Mi Quang - 9/10, also a fantastic dish. The noodles tasted like they were house made and the soup was delicious. Usually some places have a thicker sauce and barely add soup, but here they focused more on the soup, which I ended up liking more! Can't believe I haven't gone here earlier, will def be back for all three dishes again! And a plus, it was all so reasonably priced

The fried tofu with the crispy pork bits sits a pool of sauce exemplifies part of what is great about traditional Viet cooking: heavy on plant based food while the animal products is meant heighten the flavor. Finally the shrimp and pork caramel dish compliments the soup and the tofu for even more flavor and texture of the shrimp peel (totally edible).
