Went to Ann's Best | Creole & Soul Food with my friend Natalie to experience some authentic…read moreLouisiana southern food! Blackened Catfish Grilled: It was my first time having catfish. It is seasoned so well and so easy to cut through (fell apart easy). I loved how the flavor lingers around each bite. I highly recommend it! Jambalaya: This was my first time having this. I love the flavor a ton! The sausage in it is delicious! Mac & Cheese: Best Mac & Cheese I've had in the Tri-Cities so far! Not the creamiest, but the flavor really hits the tastebuds way more! Collard Greens: The spice hits you right away when you take a bite. It's not a slow build up like most spicy food. It wasn't overpowering spicy, but seasoned just right! Fried Okra: The fried breading on the okra is seasoned great! Best okra I've ever had so far! Coleslaw: The coleslaw was above average. My 3rd favorite so far in the Tri-Cities. Banana Pudding: 10/10 for how good this pudding is! Pecan Pie: This is like a classic pecan pie. Really delicious caramel flavor with crunchy pecans. Bread Pudding: There is pineapple in it! Absolutely delightful to the taste! It was freshly cooked and served warm! Lemonade (Blueberry, Pineapple): Best lemon I've ever had! There are pieces of blueberries and pineapple that were blended up with the lemonade! Super sweet!

After passing by Ann's after working out at CBRC for years, I was prompted to try it out after…read morereading a great review on Yelp. I grew up in the South and was very happy to see Ann's specialized in Southern / Cajun / Creole food. Several return customers were inside raving about how great the food is here. They are open for lunch between 11am -2pm, but the amount of each entree will definitely keep you full through dinner! I ordered the Cajun-fried catfish po'boy with a perfectly crisped batter outside, tender fish inside, and a remoulade that tasted straight from NOLA! Just the right level of spice! It was so large I had to take half home - but partly because I also ordered the hush puppies and a side of the red beans and rice - both of which are Southern favorites. The hush puppies were some of the best I have had with a deep-fried cornmeal crust and soft inside with a sprinkle of jalapeños. The red beans and rice were spicy, and so delicious that I spent a few hours that evening finding a good recipe to make it at home - though highly doubtful it will measure up to Ann's! (Looking forward to getting a large bowl of the red beans and rice with hush puppies and cornbread from here for a great winter meal -yum!!) Service was very quick and friendly and the seating was spacious with a great view of the planes at the airport. Ann's is a total gem in the Tri-cities and so glad I tried it!! I will definitely be making many return trips here to try their other entrees, sides and desserts.
