I got a Cobb salad and my husband got a California dreamin sandwich on gluten free bread (which is only a $0.50 up charge! My fellow GF baddies know it's usually at least $3.00 usually). Great sandwiches here!! I always go for their albacore tuna sandwich... which I meant to take a picture of but I ate it immediately. I ordered lunch with delivery by Door Dash. I was eating potato salad when I found a long hair caught in the salad in my mouth. I called and presumably spoke to the owner. He said that's "gross but there's nothing I can really do about it." He offered to "put a little something in my next order" to help out. No, thank you. I don't want to go through that experience ever again. Check your food carefully. read more

This little soup shop is just wonderful. As it is one of my favorite dining stops in the Parkway area, I have visited Stone Soup many times. The employees are amiable, service is quick, and environment is lively and neighborly. The tomato soup is the best I have ever tried, and I have never disappointed with the sandwiches. This place has the whole package and by that I mean price, quality and service are way above average. The restaurant itself is clean, well lit and organized. Love places like this. Good local establishments working hard to deliver good food. We came in in the late afternoon after some work meetings and grabbed a bite here. Get: Potato Salad Stone Soup is admired and liked by many and I can see where the general appeal stems from - but they've yet to really give me a reason to make it a destination for food. The sandwiches I've got have been good but not great. The bread is good, the sandwich fixin's are good, the service is good . . . but not great. The potato salad I can get behind - that was not bad at all, but I don't CRAVE anything there. In fact, I'm not entirely convinced that I couldn't create something equally as appealing in my kitchen in regards to the sandwich. My last visit I had the light Southwest Turkey sandwich on marbled rye and thought it was a nice, light lunch. But again, that's where the appeal ends. If someone asked me "where do I go to get a great sandwich?" this would not spring into my memory. Visited a couple of weeks ago with a friend. Ordered a veggie sandwich with a side of the potato soup and potato salad. Right out of the gate, I wasn't impressed when I saw, over the shoulder of the person taking the order, large industrial sized cans of Campbell's soup being opened and dumped into the pots. Really? A soup restaurant using canned soup? I guess I kind of expected that a soup restaurant would be serving homemade soup. Also the menu seemed unnecessarily complex (and over priced for canned soup). Also the absence of a soup and sandwich special/combo surprised me. And when my friend asked about a combo special, the girl taking our order seemed rather offended by the question. The food arrived at our table moderately quickly. The soup was good - I like Campbell's soup. The sandwich was bland and kind of soggy. The potato salad was the highlight though. Wonder if it was homemade? I know that Stone Soup is a staple to the Parkway and has been around for a long time, so I was shocked at the sub-par experience I had and probably not going to be returning any time soon. There are too many other options in town that I can go to. An extra couple of minutes will get me to Some Bagels and they make a great sandwich. I've been coming here for 10 years and I still can't get a better soup in TC. I'm partial to the Monday Tomato Pasta but the Chicken Enchilada is a very close second. The sandwiches are also very good and I love the little cake-cookie you get to end your meal with. The employees are friendly, the service is quick (I only have a 30 min lunch and it's a 10 minute drive for me), and the location is convenient. read more

Non-chain restaurants are limited in Richland, so on my continued search for the delicious, I ended up at Stone Soup. First impressions? The interior could use a bit of work. It looks similar to a hospital cafeteria, but please don't let that confuse you with the taste of the food. The sandwiches and soup are good. And when comparing them to what you could get at a chain, they are a welcome treat. Prices are pretty decent too. It's busy at lunch, so come a little early and perhaps take your sandwich to go. Get some sun! You'll enjoy your lunch. read more

I gave this place 4 stars, cause I've only been here once so far. I just discovered it the other day. YUM! The soup was good, the sandwich was good. The pasta salad on the side was really good!! Cute little place. I'm tired of chains and we have plenty of those in Tri Cities. If you like to support local restaurants, check this place out. I need to go in on a Tuesday and try the potato soup. Soup from a stone. Fancy that! This was one of my favorite books growing up so when Yelp told me there was a cafe in my area that allows me to relive a childhood memory, Of course I would take it. The cafe is small but has a small town charm feel. The gentleman taking my order at the register was extremely sweet and helped me decide on what to eat from their menu. I decided upon a vegetarian sandwich on rye with avocado and tomato pasta soup. Can I say that the soup was quite tasty!! I love tomato soups and this was done so well. As for the sandwich I was thoroughly impressed with it's flavor as well. Fresh and full of veggies. It's places like these that make me wish I lived near these types of establishments. read more

If you are like me and hate the rat race of trying to find gluten free options for a quick bite to eat...don't fret come here!! They have gf bread and the chicken enchilada soup is gf too. I have been going to Stone Soup in Richland for years and years and I never get tired of their menu. Their food is homemade-good and always consistent. Their BLT-A is to die for because they add a ton of bacon and thick slices of avocado. Their chicken salad is YUM and a very good portion (I add extra cheese and an egg). Even their basic grilled cheese with tomato pasta soup is scrumpt-uh-dilli-ishish and filling. My favorite thing to order at Stone Soup is the pasta salad, which has a creamy dressing with olives and grated parmesan on the top. Sandwiches are pretty good and the potato soup is great, but I almost always get the pasta salad. It can get pretty crowded here at lunch, so you should call ahead and order over the phone. Even when you call ahead, you still have to wait in line, which can sometimes be pretty long, but at least by the time you get up to the counter, your food is ready to go. read more

Great place for a quick sit down lunch. Sandwiches are reasonably priced, which is what i normally get, but they have great soup as well. I generally enjoy the tarragon chicken on sourdough with all the fixings. They also give you a nice small cookie treat gratis. Had my first lunch here a few weeks ago and I opted for the chicken enchillada soup with a roll and a drink. The soup was delicious! Creamy and flavorful, I slurped it down. I'm looking forward to more lunches there. I went around 1:30 so I missed the big crowd so the service was fine because I was one of two people in there. The environment isn't anything to write home about, but I think that could be said about most businesses in the parkway. What matters is how the food tastes and I left Stone Soup very happy. read more

Best sandwich's in Richland hands down. I went here at twice a week sometimes up to four. I always got the veggie sandwich or the meatless taco salad (which is served with a nice layer of warm frijtos chips, salsa, and sourcream).Ohhh sooo good!!! The service had it's days. Mostly good, but i defiantly felt the coldness of a really busy day there. It never mattered cause the food is so dang good. Soups are great! Very homestyle soups. I would like to see more out of the ordinary soups at this place here and there. I truly miss eating there. It felt so healthy and right. Like I said before best sandwich's in richland!!! read more

Eat here for lunch often. Love their baked potato salad and I am NOT a potato salad lover.... it is addictive! Also their chicken enchilada soup is to die for... rich, creamy, nice fresh crunchy tortilla strips on top....fabulous! Another fav is the low fat tarragon chicken salad. Not too much mayo and some nice subtle flavors especially on the marble rye bread. Husband loves their New Yorkers sandwich with pastrami and sauerkraut. I ordered the last thing on the chicken menu (can't remember the name) it was delish! The garlic naan was just enough to have flavor, the way any garlic "bread" should be. We ordered the samosas for an appetizer and there was all kinds of flavor from the sauces and just a little spice at the end of the bite. There was a super cool robot that helped the two servers stay on top of delivering fresh food from the kitchen. We're coming back!

The food was delicious, the restaurant was very clean and beautifully aesthetic, and we loved that they also had outdoor seating. Even the bathrooms were spotless, which always says a lot about a place. Our experience started a little rough because the first lady serving us didn't seem very welcoming or interested in helping us, and at times came across a bit rude. However, the sweet girl and the gentleman who took over later completely turned the experience around. They were kind, attentive, and made sure our group was well taken care of throughout the party. Their service really made a difference and helped make the celebration enjoyable. Overall, we had a lovely time and would definitely come back for the food and atmosphere.
