I would rate this place 10/5 stars if I could! The service was great! (Our server was named Ricky I believe). Very fun atmosphere, minimal wait time, and great food! We mentioned that it was our first time trying the restaurant and we were treated with lots of different samples. Defiantly combing back soon! read more

We passed this place while walking thru the shops looking for a different restaurant. Wanting to stay near the theatre, we decided to try it out. Husband had Rahr Dadgum IPA and I had a Blue Moon. We shared a Mexican Shrimp Cocktail and it was delicious: loaded with shrimp, jicama, onion, and jalapeño and service with tortilla chips. We also each had the Anchiote Shrimp Fajita Tacos with Cuban Black Beans. The shrimp was incredibly flavorful, the peppers and onions accentuated the flavor, and there was just enough applewood smoked bacon to add the something extra that wasn't needed, but a nice surprise. The Cuban black beans were tasty and added just the right spice level to the meal. We will certainly be back, and plan to try the bread pudding next time. read more

Good food! creative twist on well known meals. Had the shrimp and grits and they were very creamy with bacon and cilantro. The fried oyster nachos were great too. The sauce makes it. Wonderful service and nice atmosphere. read more

Clam chowder was great , oyster nachos are a must have, and honey chipotle shrimp tacos with flour tortillas instead of corn were also great. Great service from Our server Ricky. Will be back as a regular. read more

Great food! Great service! Knowledgeable, friendly, fun, engaging! Thanks Colby! Dont miss the happy hour for oysters and gumbo!

Always an incredible dining experience, even getting take out the experience is great. Crawfish PoBoy and Clam Chowder awesome.

Big fan of this place. The oysters are amazing! I can never seem to get happy hour down so my fiance and I keep coming back to try to get it right. We've had oysters Rockefeller and raw oysters as well. Both delicious. I think I'd get the raw, though. We tend to go with the Gulf Shore oysters most of the time. We got the crab and shrimp boil once too and it was a ton of food and so good! We must have been in the right place at the right time during one visit because we got to try the oyster nachos and a few soups. The nachos were amaze-balls. It sounds weird, but give them a try. You won't regret it. We had the crab cake appetizer and fish tacos on a recent visit. Again, outstanding. The fish tacos were sooo good! The service is quick and friendly. We really enjoy this place. It's an awesome spot for Oysters. If I had one critique, it'd be to expand the drink menu, but there's one or two choices for everyone as is. read more

THE worst service ever!!! I was looking at my menu and the server literally tap on my menu to rush me to place my order when they had 4 other person at the table. We had to wait over 25 min for our food order. If they don't have enough staff to serve food in a proper timeframe..just a courtesy heads up would be good. Last..we had to wave down the waiter to get our check. The food was ok..kinda over priced for the food they were serving. read more

We can in just to check it out, am very impressed with my experience and quality of food and service

Outstanding. I'm only 17 years old and absolutely love this place! Me and my friends go here all the time because of how good the food and how good the service is as well. Food wise you can't go wrong, I get the fish tacos every time but my friends always try something new and have yet to have anything that tasted bad! Honestly everything here is great! read more

This place had descent southern food. I highly recommend the oyster appetizer, I guess fried pickles for the rest that know about it. I got the blackened mahi mahi which was tasty, a bit dry though. The rest of the folks enjoyed their meals - good deals. read more

Went here on a Saturday night around 6-7 with my boyfriend and his family, it was extremely busy so we had to wait about 30 minutes before getting a table, which is understandable, especially since the restaurant itself is pretty small. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer, it was pretty bland but with the sauces they provided (sweet and sour and tartar) it wasn't bad at all. I ordered the fried catfish with hushpuppies and coleslaw. It took about 30 minutes to get our food, but mine was pretty good. The catfish tasted super fresh and was crisp and delicious. The hushpuppies were awesome and a little sweet! but the coleslaw was a total fail for me. There was so much apple cider vinegar in it i poured a huge amount of it onto my plate and it still was way too much. My boyfriends family seemed to really enjoy what they got and said they'll be back. My only complaint is that we barely saw our waiter the entire time, which I understand when it's busy but we probably only saw him 3-4 times tops and we were there for at least an hour and a half. Overall, pretty good seafood for the price. read more

The only good thing about this place was my drink. The food was not only bad but the shrimp basket made a person in our party very very sick!! We would not go back . read more

Best place to go for quality fish for an affordable price! I used to eat here almost every day. Theres always new and delicious specials with their fish and the service is fantastic! When you go you must get the oyster nachos or fish tacos everyone will tell you, but really everything here is good even the hamburgers coming from a seafood place, are wonderful and juicy! read more

This is one of my favorite places to get seafood at lunch I usually get the special it changes weekly and is always delicious

Came here yesterday and had a fantastic experience. Anastasia was amazing, friendly and everything you'd want in a waitress. She was attentive and helpful. Since we were first time customers, we got a sample of their fried oyster nachos. My husband hates oysters more than anything in the world, but they were so good he ordered them with his meal!!! They also gave us samples of all their soups which is really outstanding. The crab bisque was to die for. I got salmon, grilled shrimp and the fried oysters. i loved everything i got. I hate all things chipotle and all things tartar sauce. Yet their chipotle tartar sauce is extremely good!!!!!! They must really know what they're doing at this joint ;) My only request would be maybe a little lower prices. But i will be returning because the food is delicious and obviously fresh and expertly prepared. read more

Excellent we went here for appetizers and mentioned it was our first time in. The waiter was nice enough to bring out a sampler for us of their oyster nachos ( we found s pearl in one, which was definitely fun) and the soups. The crab bisque was Excellent!! I also Loved the clam chowder which I normally DoNot like. Ricky was an awesome waiter very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. read more

U have to try the Oyster Nachos. Every person that says that they don't like oyster will still love them.

Want to be lifted up after a shitty day? Ask for Briana. Full of smile and make u feel a million Dollars. Oh, the food is great.

Always good food. The only reason I hesitate going is the parking but once we are there I remember how good the food is. The chipotle shrimp tacos are my favorite. My husband loves the clam chowder. For kids, I like that they can make grilled tilapia, if you ask, instead of fries. read more

The food was pretty good. Loved the crab cake appetizer and enjoyed the Cod special. I just was disappointed with the service. Our server seemed less than happy to be taking care of our table for 2. My mother and I didn't expect fine dining service by any means but we didn't expect to be treated like an inconvenience. Our server was prompt but we had to ask for the specials, ask for an appetizer, and after our entrees ask for a dessert list. Nothing was offered. I think our server was just ready to get his side work done and have us gone. read more

Came here twice, and was not disappointed either times. The tilapia and grits were outstanding! The only reason for the 4 stars is that it's small inside. Even though I've never had to wait long, the place is very good and probably needs a larger facility. read more

Cute place, good vibe. Full bar and interesting beers on tap. Simple and delicious menu if it's your first time they'll bring you a sample of their oyster nachos yum! Service was friendly and attentive had the chipotle shrimp tacos a little spicy but really good. read more

Being a pescatrian, fish tacos are mostly my go to when ordering and the Serafin Fish Tacos are my go to when ordering from here. Not only is the food delicious but I love that the atmosphere is pretty laid back. I have dined here with co-workers on several occasions and no one has ever had complaints about the yumminess of their meal, it's one of our go to places to grab dinner. read more

I had a horrible experience at this restaurant today. I usually go to the fish city location on Dallas Pkwy. My waitress at fish city said half shells was the same as fish city. Boy was she wrong. On my visit the service was terrible and the oyster nachos were not as good as fish city. Needless to say I will never enter this establishment again. Iam sure the waitresses won't mind they seem to have lots of gossip to catch up with. See the thing about having an open area for the waitresses everyone notices what you are or are not doing. I won't even mention the older waitress who didn't speak when I said hello. She acted as if she was praying I didn't ask her for anything. Oh well. read more

Yummy seafood in a sportlike environment. I had a soup and salad and it was delicious. There is also a great selection of wine as well. A great place to meet your friends after work and grab a beer with the fellows. Definitely worth checking out!! read more

I ate at Half Shells for dinner. Getting to the restutant was a bit difficult as the traffic was really really busy on this Saturday night for a St. Patrick's Day concert. We finally got around to valet because there was no open parking anywhere. I ordered the shrimp Poboy with fried and blacken shrimp, no pickles or tomatoes. My plate arrived not even hot with both pickles and tomatoes. The waiter took it back and removed the tomatoes and left the pickles and this time it wasn't warm at all. I also had the gumbo, it was really really good. The venue is a little noisy and very causal. The waiter was really nice and could've been a little more attentive. But overall, it was good value and okay food. read more

Talk about amazing service! So me and my fiancé went to have dinner here a couple of weeks ago and the owner came over and personally got us started. He had them bring out a smaller and we got to try everything! We decided on the oyster nachos, they were absolutely to die for! The food was amazing and the owner came and checked on us multiple times! The level of service has definitely won us over! read more

Dining in The Shops of Legacy always makes me feel trendy and happen in' this experience was no different. The joint was packed to the gills with patrons cradling a variety of spirits. Parading through the tightly packed establishment were trays of the restaurant's namesake, oysters on a half shell. My mom and I specifically ventured out for oysters and were anxious to order a dozen. We were offered two options, gulf or coastal, being the Texans we are we went with what we know. . . Gulf. They were fresh tasting and satisfied our craving. We also ordered the house margarita which my mom described as being good, meaning they weren't stingy on the tequila. And the Bloody Mary. . . Can I just say, every Bloody Mary should come with a shrimp dangling off the side of the glass. The lump crab cake sandwich was slightly more wet than I would've preferred but had great flavor, I paired it with a salad instead of fries. The side salad had candied pecans and goat cheese which elevated this normally uneventful side. The service was average, Dave was busy, but drinks were never empty and food came out accurately and promptly, even if there wasn't a ton of warmth between us. read more

Service at this place was pretty bad at first until another server came over to help rectify multiple inconsistencies in our order. Shrimp cocktail was atrocious - sent it back because it looked like a shrimp smoothie. Oysters were fishy. Crab legs were small and mushy. No bibs or cloth napkins available. Do not recommend. read more

I love fine dining but Halfshells remains my favorite stop in the metroplex for lunch and dinner. The clam chowder is the best I've had all over the states - from San Franciso's Boudin bread bowls, to New England's best seafood shacks. We also love the gumbo and lobster bisque. The fish is always fresh and there are so many ways to order it. The crab legs are a hit with our kids and of course my husband and I like to indulge in a Grey Goose bloody mary every time we are there! Only downside is no reservations - you must visit at off-peak times to get a table because everyone else knows it's a good meal too! read more
