I had the oyster sampler with Rockefeller, charbroiled, and New Orleans style oysters. The Rockefeller have spinach and cream cheese and are amazing. The charbroiled have a garlic butter sauce. The New Orleans have a Cajun smoky flavor. I am beyond full because it was irresistible. I had the bananas foster cheesecake for dessert. What a treat. This place was heavenly. I've heard wonderful things about this restaurant. I've read a few glowing reviews, too, so it had my hopes way up. I arrived for dinner with my family only to find we had a 25-35 minute wait and a line of people waiting ahead of us. Ok, we were willing to stick it out because we heard such great things about the food. Finally we were seated. The ambiance was great. Our server was quick, friendly and accommodating--all good so far--then we ordered. The crab and lobster dip appetizer was delicious! We thought, 'we have found our new "go to" restaurant', until..... the entrees came. What a big disappointment! Nothing was bad, per se, it just wasn't exceptionally good either. The "Voodoo Shrimp" and their "unique sauce" were laughable as it tasted like fried shrimp rolled in a sweet chili sauce straight out of a bottle. Then there were the sweet potatoes...ugh... I had read yelp reviews trumpeting the "sweet potato creme brûlée" so I had to order it. They should be sued for calling this a creme brûlée! Nothing about this is a creme brûlée! It is sweet potato casserole period! One which I had just made 2 days before this. One for which I still had leftovers in the fridge. Let me just clear something up for readers and the owners/chefs at this restaurant; creme brûlée is a custard with a crunchy, caramelized top. This was neither a custard nor caramelized so I'm not sure where they get the creme brûlée part from. Surely this is a punishable crime somewhere, right? Someone, please, alert the authorities at once!! The "seafood pot pie" was just as inspiring. (Yes,that's sarcasm) I mean, if you're going to deconstruct a pot pie please let that be known on the menu! The filling was, like the rest of the food, ok but not spectacular, however, even if the filling had been phenomenal (which it certainly was not) you can't just throw a square of pastry dough on top of a bowl of watered down bisque and call it a pot pie! Sorry but that's not how it works! That's not how any of this works! Another dish we tried, this time at the recommendation of the staff, was the seafood flatbread. The way it was recommended we had high expectations, then it came. Let's just say it gave a new meaning to the name "flatbread", as it perfectly described exactly how the dish's performance fell--FLAT! I ordered the bacon and pecan crusted fish and it was ok, not "OMG I HAVE TO HAVE THIS AGIAN" just ok. The best thing we ordered out of the 5 adult entrees and 1 kid's meal was the kid's meal! The "popcorn shrimp" weren't really popcorn but rather small-medium shrimp and were fried perfectly and the fries weren't bad either although I could tell they were just frozen fries. So, if you're looking for a beautiful place to bring you mediocre food fast and with a smile at a price that could easily buy you a mind blowing, life changing, meal in New Orleans, you've found your spirit restaurant! This is definitely the place to fulfill those needs. Bottom Line: Ambiance is nice, service is good, price is midrange, food is meh. read more

A strip mall restaurant that has some great seafood. It was so good the first night, our group returned the next night! The best items i tried was the smoked tuna spread, the fried crab claws, the crawfish-shrimp-corn bisque. But thee best item was the Ruby Shrimp. So good that our group ate four pounds! Both nights the service was good. Being from the west is like to see more draft beers, maybe a couple from Mobile. Overall though, the drink selection was good. Not everything was as good as the items mentioned above. One of our group got steak; wasn't cooked as requested. Side of risotto was 'basic'. This place has the absolute worst tasting seafood in Mobile Alabama. My wife took mr there as a suprise for my birthday and wasted over $100. I asked for a long island Tea and they bought me some kind of blue fruit juice with 1ģ alcohol. She felt so bad until she took me to Mudbugs the next day and made up big time for a fraction of the cost. I will never eat that smelly dish water rasting seafood again. The food is pretty good and the service is fine. Twice I've been there when they had no oysters!!! I also am not a fan of the seating. After frequenting the Mississippi locations (Gulfport & Biloxi) this was a HUGE LETDOWN! Not sure if our server was having an off day. She was very nice, but totally missed the mark as a server, especially for a high end restaurant. The tea was watered down, almost clear, just a light tint, really looked like when the ice melts with a little bit of tea left in the cup. Had to ask for refills, even with empty glass sitting on edge of table. The oysters came out dry and overcooked! The topping was dry and cracked, looking like a frozen dish that gets baked. My friends and I went here for my friend's birthday, and the food was great as well as the service. Many of the dishes are reasonably priced. Highly recommend any of the seafood options as those are great and well prepared. Their seafood pasta is one of the best choices in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend the steak options as those leave much to be desired. I made the mistake of ordering a steak dish at a seafood restaurant and left feeling unsatisfied. So trilled to have come upon this place! Everything was great from our hostess to our server to the food and the atmosphere! We were able to be seated pretty quickly and got a both which we love. Our server was very helpful and even brought me some of the Alfredo sauce for me to try to make sure it didn't have to much spice. She gave opinions on the menu and helped everyone make the best choice. After receiving the food all the dishes had a great presentation and tastes just as good! We were looking for fresh seafood and found it here. For starters, we ordered the oyster sampler. Generally we don't eat oysters but these were delicious, especially the Orlean style oysters. Even our 12 year old ate some. The half-shell salad was ok but the avocado in it was strange looking. It looked more like kiwis, mushy and translucent. For main courses, we had the Royal Reds and the fish of the day, which was golden tile. We'd never heard of either of these items. The Royal Reds tasted like lobster as promised on the menu, although they were more work than lobster due to peeling and de-veining each individual shrimp. The golden tile was wonderful. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. Couldn't ask for better. Service and atmosphere were good too. Our advice is order the fish of the day. read more

Yes! I did it! I was that customer that walked 20 minutes before closing. I know I know...... I hate to do that to the kitchen and servers. But, I saw this place when I was checking into my hotel and I was really wanting seafood. I went so late due to a movie. Anywho, I ordered Togo and felt terrible. But I wanted to leave a review on how they were super cool about me coming in end of shift. The oysters were delicious as well as the surf and turf I ordered. The sweet sauce drizzled on the entree was mildly unappreciated because it cut into the savory taste of the steak. I feel the crab brought enough sweetness to the dish making the sauce unnecessary and distracting. My steak was cooked perfectly though. The biggest complaint I have is that the fire alarm kept going off during my meal. Since I was sitting a few tables away from it the alarm was extremely obnoxious and unsettling. I felt that for being such a nice restaurant they shouldn't have problems such as that. I would definitely go back and would probably give a better rating if the fire alarm is fixed and the fire department doesn't show up three times in a row. read more

What in the entire world? I recently visited this location for dinner for the first time. It was a comedy of errors from start to finish. I tried two different cocktails but they apparently weren't going to let me enjoy one. Both of these (not so inexpensive) cocktails were watered down, weak and completely ill prepared. No final dressing or accoutrements were present. But you better believe that they still wanted their $9 per drink, lol. Once dinner came, only the entree was acceptable. The sides had not even been MICROWAVED properly. Sweet potato brulee had cold chunks of butter and hard, undissolved brown sugar blobs just sitting in it. Gross. I went in with full plans to also have dessert and quickly squashed that idea after being sufficiently turned off for the evening. Yeah, yeah, "be thankful some employees showed up to work." Whatever. That's old and I'm over it. You don't send a dishwasher behind the bar to make a drink. If I had to bet, that's what I'd say happened the evening I was there. read more

Hair was found in the food, manager did stop by and apologize and also took off the appetizers. Don't try the crab dip, super fishy. Delicious. The best raw oysters I have had in a long time, I would have sworn I pulled them from the water myself. Had them for lunch with a bowl of gumbo and I was in heaven. I live in Atlanta and you just cannot get the same quality and freshness in seafood as you do in Mobile. Made me so happy. Tried the wife's voodoo shrimp po-boy and it was quite good. They even did grouper for my seafood snob of a 6 year old daughter and it was gone in no time. Don't miss the smoked tuna dip either, it was awesome. Sunday Brunch: Bananas Foster French Toast - excellent! Thick fresh french bread. Good bananas and sauce well worth it. Got a side of cheese grits, nice large bowl very hot and cheesy also great. Now the not so great. Lobster scrambled eggs sounded wonderful and had potential to be but the lobster was overcooked and chewy. The English muffin with sliced and barely toasted still kind of cold. The char grilled asparagus was not grilled but sautéed with large chunks of garlic. The Gorgonzola butter on top was good - super rich. Overall the idea was good but not executed well. Coffee was dark roast and hot - great new orleans style for brunch. Service was excellent! Price was reasonable for brunch so i probably will give them another try for the benedict options and a rerun of french toast. read more
