Farro bowl and seasonal 16oz. Iced Latte (cherry almond coconut syrup)

An excellent place to go if you want to get some work done, as well as a latte and lunch. One of my favorite things to eat there is the farro bowl, it's very fresh, and has lots of different textures and flavors that really compliment each other. Unfortunately, you can only get eggs at Hala soft boiled or scrambled. I wish there was an option for hard boiled, but the kitchen doesn't do that. You also can't replace items or ingredients of any of the menu options, only can add on. Employees are friendly, some are better at making espresso drinks better than others, regardless, the service is still above average.

    Chicken Sandwich with Side Salad

We came here on a Saturday morning and were happy to see it wasn't completely packed like most cafes in the area during the weekend. We ordered at the bar and I decided on the chicken sandwich with a side salad. We sat ourselves close to the front windows and were given order numbers that the servers used to drop of out played when they were ready. The service here was fast and friendly as well. The vibe was very clean and modern, especially for the area!

Hala is the cafe experience that anyone would want in the neighborhood. a large space with a good amount of seating serving menu of quality eats and drinks. stumbled in here on a sleepy Saturday and was in need of coffee. the Americano came out piping hot and full of that caffeinated flavor when the day has been too cold and you're running on fumes and it's only the early afternoon. the coffee was quite good and did its job. while it was a sleepy Saturday, Hala was full of people working / studying so it was pretty quiet. the vibe was definitely low key. the space is really clean, well-organized, soaked in light, and has a welcoming tone to it all. the service was chipper and the warm. wish i had taken advantage of the food options (they look good) but that's a good excuse to return. and only in Bushwick would a cafe bathroom key be named "Kevin"--do with that knowledge what you may.

Lovely, bright atmosphere perfect for brunch, coffee or working from a cafe. We got the Acai Bowl (one of the biggest for the price I've seen), biscuit and gravy (comes with an omelette and mushroom gravy), grilled sandwich, and breakfast Pita. All wonderful ingredients and well portioned. The staff were also lovely and helpful.

I didn't expect to head to another cafe lmao because I'm currently waiting for my friends to head to brunch haha. This comfortable industrial vibe-ish vegan friendly cafe is definitely another recommended place I would visit on the regular. For example imagine heading to work and you're rushing to grab something quick and you really don't know where to go.. (although they're many options to choose from, I'm pretty sure you'll be satisfied with what you'll order from this cafe). Friendly comfortable environment. You will definitely get some work done with the seating arrangements inside... (PLUS YOU CAN CHARGE YOUR PHONE AND WAIT FOR YOUR RIDE TO HEAD HOME SAFE SINCE THEYRE OUTLETS everywhere). Just make sure to order something first because of you don't....welp it's on you The staff are great and professional! Love it! Gonna continue drinking my espresso now. They serve it in these tiny blue cute mugs and spoon. Please support the locals!

A delightful coffee (Halo) in hot brewing. Clear layers of it's fruitiness with a mild kick of attacks and after taste.

Omg their coffee is the best in this part of New York. Highly recommend. The pastries are very fresh and tasty.

Chai latte is just milk... definitely overpriced. Another unnecessary coffee shop. The barista was nice though.

Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food, good company and a nice relaxing tea to end the night. :)read more

Shucks I wanted to give this place five stars but it didn't start so well. The first barista who…read moretook my order was really great. I first ordered a chai latte and he said I could do two different syrups so I got the pumpkin and salted maple, though I was worried about it being too sugary so he suggested I could just do half a pump of each. He asked me what the name of the order would be and I said "Aida" (the phonetic spelling is ah-EE-dah). And then I heard the other barista say something along the lines of, "oh Aida, how about 'Aida' rather not be here", pretty rude if you ask me. And then I ordered the spicy nook sandwich. And when another server called my named to grab it she didn't even knowledge me when I tried to thank her and instead she talked to her coworker while I was right in front of her. The sandwich was really good, so was my chai tea. I really like the pumpkin and salt and maple syrups too. I did like all the options for seating although it was pretty packed. I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there.

Baristas were solid, price was right, everything was grand... I don't know what has happened in the last 6-9 months but I've had to stop coming here full stop. The drink I would always order and am intimately familiar with now tastes fundamentally different--burnt. And not in a dark roast way I would opt into... burnt in a non-intentional way. I don't know if something's up with the espresso machine plumbing that's burning the espresso, if the quality of the roast/beans have changed (doubt it), or if the microbiome of the ice machine is off--but the coffee now always tastes burnt in a way it never did before...and all my friends agree! I sincerely lament that this is the case and I check every 6 weeks or so to see if the espresso machine has been tuned up or something... but once again my cup was not tasty yesterday :/ !! I still go to other variety locations around the city and everything is ok elsewhere. I wasn't going to say anything but I'm just exhausted of not being able to get my reasonably priced, reliably good iced espresso drink when I get off at dekalb so I'm speaking up! For what its worth, I used to be a barista so I'm not just chatting, I sincerely want better for us all!! @Variety please just like get your guy to check the espresso machine or something IDK but summer's around the corner!
