I'm a woman with zero experience when it comes to home remodels. So when my 72-year-old mom needed…read moreher guest bathroom remodeled in her Mission Viejo home, I did a ton of research and interviewed several licensed contractors that were recommended by friends and neighbors. Right off the bat, my mom and I felt the most comfortable with Amin (pronounced "Ah-mean") of Persi Homes. From the thorough, no-pressure in-home consult to the detailed estimate and contract he sent afterwards, Amin's expertise, warm personality, and responsiveness to our questions gave us the reassurance we needed to take the plunge and get started with our first remodel. My mom's house is around 30 years old. The tub/shower combo was original and started peeling in spots. The towel bar, vanity light, and other items were also original and needed to be replaced. My mom ended up doing a "full gut" and had Persi Homes replace everything, including the toilet, vanity and countertop, sink and faucet, vent fan, floor, etc. Amin answered all our questions and provided helpful suggestions during every phase of the project. As the Project Manager, he showed up several times a week to check the progress of the work, and he remained extremely friendly and responsive from start to finish. We always knew who was coming to the house on what day and what the next phase of the project was. From the demo guys to the tile guys and everyone in between, all the Persi Homes employees and subcontractors were polite, showed up on time, and worked extremely hard. They even cleaned up after themselves every day. Each City Inspection passed with flying colors, and Amin made sure my mom and I were 100% happy with every aspect of her bath remodel. Before this project, I was hesitant to undergo any remodels, especially after hearing horror stories of sketchy contractors from coworkers and friends over the years. But the Persi Homes crew was extremely professional, reliable, and easy to talk to. My mom is now the proud owner of a beautifully remodeled guest bathroom where the superior craftsmanship speaks for itself. From the new acrylic soaking tub and porcelain tiled shower combo, to her stunning quartz top vanity with soft-close drawers and perfectly cut tile flooring, her guest bathroom is not only more functional with more storage, but luxurious. It looks like something you'd see in a magazine. This smaller guest bathroom remodel was a "test project" to take Persi Homes for a test drive before my mom gets other remodel projects done. As a single gal who's just trying to help out her mom, Persi Homes was incredible to work with! We're so lucky to have found this company. My mom and I will definitely be using them again.

From our first meeting with their representative Amin, and then every step of the way, they answered our questions, they addressed our concerns, and they gave us more of the home we want. From the demo, including the removal of my AC unit, to the footings, the framing, the electrical, and then all leading up to the finished product and the final inspection, PH was there every step of the way. They were professional, on time, and took care of our property. We are so happy with our new covered patio and we will definitely be using Perci Homes for any future home construction needs.

They were unwilling to extend the estimate through that process and also would not coordinate a reasonable anticipated start date. That leaves the customer investing time and money into plans without knowing what the project will ultimately cost or when construction can actually begin. I was prepared to move forward, but it's difficult to responsibly commit to a significant construction project without reasonable certainty on pricing or scheduling. Unfortunately, their lack of flexibility and coordination made me decide not to proceed.

Ours was not an easy build due to the fact that we had to excavate quite a bit as the ADU was build in to a hillside and near a slope to the rear of my property. If I had to focus on one thing, it would without question be communication. I was assigned a job foreman who guided me through the entire process, listened to my needs, provided me feedback, and helped me along the way with all the little changes that arose during the build. We made a few changes along the way and we were given clear communication of the requested change, as well as a fixed price for the change. The use of sub contractors is a part of any build and each of the contractors selected were respectful of my property and my neighbors, did an above average job, and were a compliment to John Christopers team. I would advise anyone considering an accessory dwelling unit to choose this contractor for the project. We spent a lot of time selecting the right contractor and were even led astray by a few. I can honestly say from my perspective, there's no-one better suited to build a detached ADU than John Christopher Construction. Before choosing John Christopher, we viewed several of their builds in process as well as spoke to some of their employees and customers. We would be happy to host potential customers as the pictures I am attaching to the review don't even come close to doing the ADU credit.

The True Home Builders team of workers and outside vendors were respectful, professional, highly competent, and maintained a clean and safe working environment from start to finish. Even after the project was completed, Ami & Michelle ALWAYS immediately responded to our phone calls, text messages, and emails (they still do to this day, even for the most minor or quirkiest questions we might have). When little things came up after the job was completed, they were still there for us and still responded and showed up immediately. They definitely were not a "Slam, bam, thank you ma'am," company. Nor did they ignore our phone calls. They showed up! We can't say enough about True Home Builders and we really miss having them around even after eight months of working on our project. A month over deadline and he is still trying to redo marble but won't disclose who his contractors are upon request which is illegal. Therefore, I can't check his workers against insurance, bond or license. Would only give me contractor company name and that is it, which is illegal according to sb517 7159 section under disclosures of BPC. He had in his contract he would deliver bookcases that were painted and then changed it to upscale me in a kitchen remodel or high additional charge. He did not catch or remedy any mistakes or defects in his work leading to tons of my time spent supervising his guys and keeping an eye out for damages and major defects. The ADU build is summarized into two general phase and one extra phase for us: Phase 1 = Arash the architect led the way on the planning, from 2D architecture drawings to 3D renderings; after the city approved to break ground, Alan the lead builder & team took care of the foundation & structure of the build, this phase was finished under 6mo., between Dec '24 till April '25. Phase 2 = Mahroo the interior designer led the way on the interior design, she provides further interior design & parts sourcing, that pieces everything else together inside the DADU once phase 1 was finished. Ariyan the project leader also helps greatly to sort out the communications between us & his team. This phase was finished under 3mo., even with much changes in the details such as appliances, between May '25 to August '25, including final inspections from the city. Phase 3 = Consider this icing on the cake, and optional phase that includes landscaping and utilities around the DADU in the backyard, as well as front yard touch ups. I've also hired 3rd party inspection which Builderwell 100% complied and made extra corrections thereafter. This last phase was finished under 3mo., between Sept '25 to Nov '25.
