I moved to Austin, TX a few months ago, and Dede was a life saver for my hair! I had just gotten tape in extensions in my home town, and they were falling out of my head. I've had very thin hair my whole life, and was finally super excited to have long, thick hair. So this was very upsetting and disappointing. After researching hair extensions in Austin when I got here, I found Dede. She readjusted all my tape in extensions. They never fell out again, and I was very happy! The tape ins were great, but still weren't exactly what I wanted. Dede talked to me about the keratin bonded extensions, which are her expertise, and I was sold. I switched from tape ins to Great Lengths about a week ago, and I couldn't be happier. They look more natural and I don't have to worry if anyone can see the tapes. Dede put my extensions in for years then REFUSED TO TAKE THEM OUT when I couldn't afford them anymore. My hair is RUINED, the extensions tore out and broke my hair at the bond. I became dependent upon them because when I saw my horrible short to my scalp hair during the replacement appointment I was shocked and scared. My original hair was shoulder length. I feel it's unethical and unkind for her to refuse to remove what she put in. I want to concentrate on getting normal hair back during Covid now that I cannot pay thousands a year for my hair. I had a very short pixie cut and hated the process of growing it out so I decided to try hair extensions for the first time. It took me a while to get used to them but I absolutely love them now! Dede was great. Got my extensions 2 months ago. Have not lost any and I am rough with them. I have bad hair genetics...in first grade kids asked why I was 'bald' my hair is see-through thin, brittle and will not grow. All the women on my mom's side of family are pretty much bald. Went to Dede to get tape extensions moved back up and a root touch up. The root color does not match the root color I had before and under the root touch up I was expecting to not see my own original hair color through. I still can see my original red hair color like my roots have been growing out for two weeks. The placement of the extensions is just as bad. The tapes aren't placed at the same high on each side of my head! Some in the back are placed so low that you think they are grown out for four weeks and some are sitting so high that it's hard to hide the actual tape. I also left the hair studio like I am straight out of the 80's. Big puffy hair and a curly bangs. Even my husband asked if she's already done. So for all of this she charged $310 what is way to much when I think about the items mentioned above plus she didn't blow dry and straightened my natural curls by hand (that would have prevented the 80's hairstyle). I sat under a blow dryer that left my bottom hair still wet and she even told me by asking why she doesn't use a curling iron nor blow dryer that she doesn't waste her time on that. With this comment I wonder why are you a hairstylist??? So I will not go to her again cuz I feel like I wasted a lot of money for terrible service. read more

Dede Viscarde is amazing at extensions and color! I am so pleased with my hair, especially after a bad experience in Austin. I've had extensions over the course of 5 years, but when I moved to Austin I had no idea where to go. I tried one salon and everything was a disaster, including the color. Dede straightened my color out with one visit, and the second time I came in we did the great lengths extensions. Couldn't be happier with the results! We mixed light blonde and dark brown to give a fun funky look, and although more expensive than I was used to, the quality is worth the money hands down! The hair feels so natural and soft and the extensions are so comfortable that I don't even notice I have them in! Way better than the silicone bead/ sew in kind or clip-ins by a long shot!! Dede worked with me over email to set up my appointment and color match the extensions I wanted. I spent several hours getting my hair dyed, extensions and a cut all in one day and Dede did it all with great conversation and a smile!
