I've been cutting my own…read morehair for 14 mos, and while Lynnie was super kind and generous in telling me that I did a good job and that anyone would struggle to cut the back of their head where they can't see, I felt like my hair was a real mess. I mean, just chaos all over. So now that I'm vaxxed and about to take a trip back east to visit family I haven't seen in what feels like eons, I knew I needed professional help. And since I'm relatively new to Austin, I turned to Yelp for help in choosing that professional help :-) I absolutely love the cut and style Lynnie gave me, and, as I said, I felt like her task was extra challenging because of all the chaos I wreaked on my own quarantined head, ha. So I'm extra impressed with the end product! This cut is super cute and stylish and attractive and it feels very "me." I love it! Also, I love that Lynnie asked about how I style my hair at home, and maybe bc I'm lazy or maybe I'm impatient, I usually just let it air dry. So she gave me tips for styling it that way and then put me under the dome dryer to mimic the air dry so we could see how it looked after. I really appreciated that extra touch too-- it was so helpful to me since I feel like I learned some new tricks that I will actually carry out bc they're easy and don't require me to do anything time-consuming. Also, I felt very comfortable with Lynnie. In addition to clearly being so talented at her craft, she's a warm, friendly, all-around nice person who I enjoyed chatting with while she was making over my head :-). I was so looking forward to my first professional self-care experience post-vaccine (my husband is in a vulnerable group so I've been psychotically cautious for the last year so I wouldn't unknowingly give the virus to him). I was so looking forward to it that I could barley sleep last night! But at the same time I was nervous bc I am so easily embarrassed (I'm working on that), and I really was embarrassed about my hair. Lynnie put me at ease immediately, and her kindness and patience and warmth made the whole experience fabulous for me, so it was good for my outsides and my insides. I feel so good with this new haircut (I feel 10 years younger, maybe even 20!), and I feel so grateful for finding out about Lynnie. In case it's not already obvious, I will be returning again and again to be the lucky recipient of her talent, and in case it's not obvious, I highly recommend her as well... the highest recommendation I can give! Thank you so very much, Lynnie! You've made me day/week/month, and you have already made my upcoming trip more special :-D UPDATE 5/27/21: I took my trip back East and got sooooo many compliments on my hair! (Even a flight attendant complimented me, so it wasn't just people who know me, but a few strangers too.) Also, I had lots of pics taken of me (which I normally don't like bc I don't like pics of me), but these pics were sweet bc they were me with my first grandbaby! If Lynnie hadn't fixed all that I had done wrong to my head over the last year I am positive I would've hated those pics of me bc I would've been distracted by how bad my hair had looked instead of focusing on the baby. So thank you for that huge save, Lynnie! (If I weren't so shy I would post a pic of me. Alas, I am that shy.) Also, this cut is a dream to take care of: it really suits my wash-and-wear lifestyle, and looks so good to boot. And Lynnie showed me some cool tricks to accentuate the style when I air dry. And I forgot to mention that I have short hair-- I read somewhere that short haircuts are harder to do well than long ones (makes sense when I think about it). So that's another well-earned feather in Lynnie's amazing cap! :-D

She goes the extra mile and takes extra special care when transforming your hair to ensure it stays happy and healthy. She's an absolute magician with color & blondes and also an absolute angel to boot. I had two consultations before my appointment and clearly explained that I wanted to keep my brown hair while adding two money pieces and subtle highlights. I even brought photos to show the exact color I was hoping for, and I was reassured that this look was achievable. However, I left the salon with brassy orange hair and an uneven haircut, which was the complete opposite of what I requested. I had spent a long time growing my hair, so having it cut unevenly and over-processed was incredibly frustrating. The service itself was also uncomfortable. During the bleaching process, the application felt very rough and my hair was pulled quite aggressively at the bowl, which was painful and concerning. After the blow dry, I was told I should come back in six weeks to fix the color, which was surprising considering the color was clearly not what had been discussed. It also felt strange to be asked to pay before the blow dry was finished, especially when the damage was already apparent. To their credit, when I returned, the senior educator and her assistant were much kinder and did try to correct the situation. I appreciate their effort, but unfortunately the final result still wasn't close to what I had originally asked for. I have had my hair lightened and colored at other salons before and have never experienced this level of discomfort or damage. Sadly, my hair now feels very compromised and the color is still not what I wanted. Because of this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending this salon. And I don't have great hair naturally - it is very fine, and the natural color itself is starting to fade with age, and it is very delicate. It has to be treated with care. What is so wonderful about Leesa is that she is a master technician. She can immediately assess the situation, listens to your asks, applies her own expertise, and gives you an outcome that will ALWAYS exceed your expectations. On a recent visit, she was finishing up with a client who is going through the grey transition process and honestly, I took one look at this lady's hair (which is nothing like my own) and blurted out "I'll have what she's having!" It literally took my breath away - and I honestly thought this was her natural hair color but nope, Leesa had spent significant time intricately and expertly foiling it, just like she does my hair. Leesa is also just a stellar person, too. She always wants to help, she puts her heart and soul into her job and she wants you to be HAPPY. Be sure to talk to her!
