Heather Olexa is my hair savior! I came to Heather asking her to do the impossible, my previous hair cut was lopsided, choppy and all around uneven. My hair had a green tint from using a color depositing conditioner and close to my roots there was a band of darkness from previously doing a shadow root. She sat me down and throughly looked at my hair, she asked to see pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like. Me being the indecisive person that I am showed her two pictures of the cut I wanted, specific things from each picture I liked and showed her about 5 pictures of the color I liked, each one a bit different from the others. She asked questions about my routine and if I wanted a high or low maintenance color. She guided me to a style and color that works perfectly with my face shape, tone of my skin, and lifestyle! While she painted my hair we had the best conversation, it felt like I was talking to my best friend. As she cut my hair she explained what she was doing and the why behind it, I have fine, thin hair and have always been afraid of layers but she gave me a cut that makes my hair look thicker and so healthy! When I looked in the mirror after she blew it dry and styled it, I was in shock, my hair was PERFECT! Although Boho Salon is absolutely adorable inside with a very relaxing and welcoming ambience, and (might I add) in a perfect location off of S 1st, this review is specifically intended for their stylist Jasmine. Actually, Jasmine isn't a stylist- she's a magician. I swear one time she was able to take my sort-of grown out pixie cut and turn it into a super stylish bob. How she was able to simultaneously cut my hair and somehow make it grow longer still boggles the mind. In addition to this, I always find myself going to her wanting a cut/change, but not able to offer her any advice or suggestions besides, "just make it look good". And make it look good she does! So this review is mainly for Jasmine, but I do want to say that this salon overall is super clean and super cute! They have taken COVID seriously, which I really appreciate. My standards for businesses are usually a bit higher since I am a healthcare worker myself, and they check all the marks! I have been Jasmine's client for 5+ years now, probably closer to 10 and I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair!! I have done everything from a short bob, to maintaining long, waist length hair and she nails it every time! She actually takes the time to listen and when you tell her "don't cut too much off"....she does exactly that! Recently, I went in to cut off a bunch of bleached damaged crust and she got rid of SO MUCH hair while still maintaining length! It was like magic! She is a super cool person, and I never felt judged by her, even when I was a broke college student who had to save up just for a nice cut. This was so appreciated during those times when I was stressed out and just wanted to live a life of luxury for an hour. I recommend her every time someone asks about my hair and make sure to mention to be clear on what you DON'T want, and I guarantee you'll walk out a happy customer!
