Good drinks, friendly owner. I got the Jasmine Green Tea (cold) & my hubby got the Signature Milk Tea with boba. He said it was GREAT boba LOL. I notice other ppl commenting on the boba quality as well. They also have snacks & food. Looks like the space is mainly used by college kids for studying. It's a bit cluttered but I wouldn't mind coming back to get drinks again & checking out their food selections. Tommy the owner is very accommodating & helpful.

My husband and i got the watermelon and coconut passion fruit smoothies with lychee, and OMG they were delicious! Far exceeded our expectations, they were so refreshing and so filling with how much came in the cup. Kelli was super sweet & friendly and made us feel very welcome in her shop. There's lots of cute sitting areas to choose from. Will definitely return when we are in the area!

A small group of us stopped by to try a new tea shop. The tea was good, but average. The boba was very bland and tasteless. This was especially upsetting since the gentleman who was helping us was pushy about upselling to a second scoop of boba. If the boba had been good, the extra cost would have been okay, but it ended up being a waste of money. It is a good place to stop for tea, but pass on the boba, especially since they don't include it in the cost of the beverage.

My friend and I came here to get some milk tea to drink. It was easy to find street parking, and they're located at a corner. When we came in, we were immediately greeted. We looked at the menu and made the order there (there are kiosks). We waited at the seating in the front, and the drinks were brought to us. We got the Hokkaido Milk Tea and Hot Cocoa Milk Tea. They were very good drinks.

HaiCha Tea is located at 12 Harkness Avenue Pasadena, California 91106. It is located a few steps north of Colorado Boulevard. This business is worth the short walk from Pasadena City College. This is a small cozy respite away from the problems of the day. The atmosphere, the delicious herbal teas, smoothies, and friendly service are appreciated by all of its patrons. I was happy to discover HaiCha Tea when I was looking for another location in the area. I looked up its reviews and was amazed at the number of perfect reviews. Quite an achievement for a place that has been in business for a number of years. Clearly this business knows how to take care of its people through great family Taiwanese recipes and old fashioned good service. I was greeted with a warm welcome as I entered the business. After ascending three steps, I entered a small room with a calm atmosphere. With calming music playing and the sound of running water I felt like I was in a meditation room. After talking with the gentleman about the menu, I decided to try the cold Strawberry Herbal Tea. After a short time he graciously brought over my order. He was eager to see if my Strawberry Tea was to my liking...it was perfect - tasty and refreshing. On another visit I was able to fully experience the best smoothie that I have ever tasted! It was a dairy-free Taro Smoothie. What a vision piled high and packed with flavor. On another hot day I was looking for something refreshing and light. The owner suggested the High Mountain Oolong tea. A perfect selection - cool, light, and refreshing. I look forward to coming back and trying other teas, smoothies, and coffee drinks. Street parking is available but this location is a nice walk from PCC or anywhere in the vicinity.

Such a nice kind-hearted soul was the Owner. He had patience for my grandkids as they wondered OUT LOUD what they should get. They ended up with the Taro Smoothie and proclaimed it was the best Boba ever! From the few sips I had it was pretty tasty. There is seating inside with couches and I did see some people ordering actual food (I believe) parking is street parking. Respectfully Reviewed.

Amazing little spot right by Pasadena City college. Calm music when you enter and an enthusiastic Taiwanese owner! We tried the grapefruit lychee fruit tea with lychee and the strawberry smoothie with boba. We also tried the black sesame crunches--yummy! Parking a bit tight--just 2 parking spots in front but if you are at PCC you can easily walk over. We even got a free cell phone holder for the car!! Check it out.

What an ABSOLUTE GEM of a tea/boba/coffee shop in Pasadena! Walking in, the smell of brewed tea and warm sugar just hugs you. Unassuming space, but such a warm and friendly welcome from the owner, Tommy. He exudes such enthusiasm and pride in his products that it is contagious. I ordered the HaiCha Milk Tea 50% sweet with boba, and truly, it's quite perfect. This drink is made with a blend of black and oolong teas. The tea flavor comes through the milk extremely well. The boba are perfectly chewy, bouncy, and this may sound odd, but round and slippery. You would think that all boba are this way but no. We have all had boba where the surface is sticky or squished with flat sides--like eating little gummy dodecahedrons. Ugh. HaiCha's boba are perfectly bouncy, slippery spheres, which is exactly how they should be. Tommy the owner is Taiwanese and imports all of his tea and boba from Taiwan. He brews all of his teas daily and of course, cooks the boba daily. He also makes these delicious Taiwanese snacks: coconut crunchy and sesame crunchy. Slightly sweet and full for nutty goodness! They definitely feed one's nostalgia for Taiwan. There are quite a few boba shops in the Pasadena area, and I have tried many of them. So far, HaiCha is clearly the winner when it comes to authentic Taiwanese tea and boba. It helps that the owner's love and belief in the product is so genuine. FYI: This shop opens surprisingly early, at 8:30am, every day. Apparently, there are coffee drinkers that come in for their morning Joe before work or class. I forgot to ask him when boba is ready everyday. Will ask next time!

The new ownership is bringing in some amazing new ideas and the Papua cappuccino is , the ambiance is eclectic and perfect. Service is top notch; friendly and welcoming make this place your go to coffee and boba spot you won't be disappointed!

Thiiiiiiiiiiis sweet man...we pulled up 8 minutes to close and he was *in* his car trying to go home and STOPPED his car to ask us to wait so he could come back and open up just for us OMG... He wouldn't take no for an answer, so we ordered a Mango Smoothie and a HaiCha Milk Tea (25% sweet). They really care about their customers here! As for the smoothie...these are SO much fun! Piled high like a smoothie tower. Basically two smoothies in one! A steal for the price, really. The mango flavor was nice, the sweetness level was good and not overwhelming, even at 100%. The boba are well cooked, but could use more flavor & sweetness of their own. I would try the strawberry one next time. The HaiCha Milk Tea was a great level of sweet for me at 25% (my usual order anywhere) and had a nice light tea flavor. I would try other tea flavors next time, as they had several that looked good, as well as some.black sesame crunch treats that looks snackable! I would come back here for the fun of the smoothie, especially with friends! Since he was closing, we walked across the street to enjoy our drinks in the shade outside the college and it was delightful. This is a fabulous location.

I was at a Yelp event. I met a new Yelpie friend. She recommended HaiCha. Thank you miss! That same day, on my way out of the City of Pasadena, I decided to come here and support HaiCha. The owner, Tom, saw me outside taking photos and kindly invited me to come inside. Upon entry, he greeted me warmly and with a welcome gift. Thank you Tom for your kindness and generosity! It's a quaint little tea shop with limited inside seating. There is street parking... remember to read the posted signs. Drink options are plenty... milk tea, brewed tea, smoothies, coffee, etc. I couldn't decide because every drink look so good. I asked Tom for his recommendation. He said the most popular is the HaiCha Milk Tea so I had to get that one for me. I got 2 other drinks for my daughters. They loved their drinks. As for me, HaiCha Milk Tea was top-notch tasting! I can taste the authentic tea flavor combined with the smooth milk and toppings. So refreshingly good! Thanks for the recommend. HaiCha Milk Tea + brown sugar + boba Peach Tea + lychee jelly Roasted Oolong Milk Tea + crystal boba Besides drinks, they have a few food items, too. I also saw bags and bags of black sesame crunchy. I love black sesame. I ended up getting 3 bags plus a bag of loose tea leaves. I have already eaten all 3 bags of black sesame crunchy. So addictingly delicious and yummy!! I haven't opened the tea bag yet. I'm sure it'll be refreshingly delightful. As I was leaving the shop, Tom gave me a "come back soon" gift. He is too kind. Thank you again Tom for the cool gifts! I couldn't ask for a better experience... super friendly owner and great service, cool ambiance, amazing drinks, delectable snacks, authentic tea, and wonderful free gifts! I highly recommend HaiCha. I will be back the next time I'm in the Pasadena area. If you haven't tried HaiCha, think no more... just come on over and support them! Btw, guess who I saw here? My Yelpie friend who recommended me here. It was great to see her here, too. So cool!

Tommy is a great host with great energy. You can tell he cares about the customers that walk through the door. My BF and I stopped by after lunch for a couple drinks and were greeted instantly. I got the Roasted Oolong and he got a Taro milk tea (both 50% sweet). Couldn't get a picture of the Taro Milk tea because it was such a big hit . Their interior is quaint and cozy. 4.5, possibly one of the friendliest person you'll ever meet! i wanted to try this place because the ratings are great and i wanted to know what made it so special. it's much smaller than i thought and could only accomodate few people but it's super cozy and cute. has full wifi and plugs. it has certain comfortable and calming homey vibe but what really made it special is the owner. from the moment he said hi, i knew it was because he was the type to connect with customers. he might even give you gifts sometimes and loves chatting. he told us how it's only been a year since he first opened and he works every day but can't complain since this is what he wanted to do. also why he's very enthusiastic when getting customers and wanting to get the word out about his tea place (review!!- he is very enthusiastic about getting reviews and just more ppl to know about the place but dont worry he doesnt force you to give a good review or make you do anything in the store either) he also uses quality ingredients for everything like his meats are from costco etc and how he takes care of what he makes bc thats what he makes for himself too. the drinks were good so far, ive only been once. mu friend said she liked her tea and the rice meal was good too. overall, really nice spot. very sweet man and place! lovely and perfect for a local neighborhood spot if someone is looking for a place they can do work and get tea and nice vibes. read more

Basically what everyone is saying is true. Tommy is the best, such an amazing person and his drinks were delicious. I got the HaiCha milk tea and my girlfriend got the matcha latte. Decided to try this place since my friend and I were in the area and craving boba at 11 am. As soon as we walked in, we were instantly greeted by the sweetest and kindest owner. My friend ordered the roasted oolong milk tea, while I got the haicha roasted high mountain oolong tea for my bf and the haicha jasmine oolong tea for myself. Teas were freshly brewed, delicious, and authentic. The boba was also perfectly sweet and chewy. Can't wait to come back and try more drinks! read more

This little gem is tucked away on a small street called Harkness Ave. The owner hand makes his drinks one by one and they are so delicious! My sister got the roasted oolong milk tea with boba at 50% and we enjoyed it. The flavor of the milk tea was good! On top of that, the customer service from the owner was top tier. They open pretty early for a boba place which is really nice. I got the Okinawa milk tea with boba, no complaints! Half sugar was perfect for me. Not a lot of places seem to have Okinawa so I was really glad to see it here. Tommy is super nice, he was very accommodating and welcoming. Came here to catch up with a friend when she was visiting the area. The spot seems new. It was pretty quiet on a sat afternoon, so the usual crowd must be PCC students when school is in session. I ordered a Oolong MT, no sugar and light ice. Flavor was definitely there. My friend got a thai tea with boba. It is slightly expensive compared to some of the nearby options. The music was a tad loud, esp since we wanted to converse. The owner was courteous though. Good quali-tea overall. read more

The menu has…read moreadjusted slowly over time, but they maintain a solid coffee and tea selection, with some food options and (at the Pasadena location) about 16 flavors of gelato. On this weekday I came for the Jasmine Milk Tea. Last time this was under the Tea Latte section, but they menu changed and there is now a dedicated Milk Tea section. And also there is a Jasmine Latte with Espresso in it, but that is under the Espresso section. I was able to get it chilled but without ice. The lowest sweetness level was 50%, but I asked nicely and they estimated they could make a 25% for me. It turned out wonderfully, extremely floral, barely any sweetness so the Jasmine aroma and taste were the dominant ones. In the food side I selected the popcorn chicken. I can take some heat but only a small bit, so I asked for the spice powder in the side. I just looove the texture of the popcorn chicken. You can see in the picture that it's a very thin breading, almost not there, but the texture seems almost as if an invisible rice flour was tossed in the outside. Still juicy in the inside, and small pieces to make every bite pop-able. The chicken comes with a ranch sauce, though to me it's a second thought. Add a hint of spice or even have the chicken as is, no ranch is needed.

Traditional espresso drinks, however, aren't their strong suit. Pros: Plenty of seating, lots of outlets, reliable Wi-Fi, and a comfortable space to work or study. They also have a solid rewards program if you visit regularly, plus various avocado toast options and Asian-inspired ice cream if you're looking for more than coffee. My favorite drink is the brown sugar latte (I'd recommend 25% or 50% sweetness), followed by the Thai tea latte. Cons: Traditional espresso drinks feel more modernized than authentic. On my most recent visit (Friday around 10:20 a.m.), I ordered a cappuccino that took 15 minutes to receive and was surprised it only came in 12 oz or 16 oz. I was expecting a smaller cup like other places. The 12 oz tasted more like a latte with extra steamed milk than a classic cappuccino. The ube and hojicha lattes were decent, but I've had better elsewhere. Parking in front is limited to 15 minutes, but there's additional one-hour parking in the rear.

If the patio has different hours, that should be clearly communicated instead of asking paying customers to leave early. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. Between the unfriendly service, flavorless coffee, and being asked to leave well before closing, I won't be coming back. There are plenty of other cafés in Pasadena that offer much better coffee and treat their customers with respect.

Branzino alla Griglia ($38) - Whole grilled branzino topped with eggplant, salsa verde and herb salad. This was the least bad item that we paid for... I also didn't like some of the flavors coating the fish. Although from a grilled perspective it was crispy and perfectly cooked. This is a popular business with plenty of patrons to keep them busy. Whatever they like... it isn't what I look for in a business I frequent. I know they don't need my business and I will gladly stay away and save myself all of the trouble. This was way too stressful and there weren't any dishes I need to have again. My experience was so awful I'm being very generous with this 3 star, which is "average".

The most welcoming and friendly boba shop I've ever visited! Tommy, the owner, greeted me with such warmth and excitement, instantly putting a smile on my face. He went above and beyond, offering thoughtful gifts like hand sanitizers and a phone charger--it was such a kind gesture! But it's not just the hospitality that shines--the milk tea is amazing! My personal favorite is their house milk tea at 25% sweetness with extra grass jelly. The grass jelly, made in-house, has a slight firmness that I really enjoy. As for the boba itself, it's perfection! During my first visit, I was impressed by its ideal balance of sweetness and chewiness. Tommy's kindness and passion for his shop make this place a true gem. We got the Peach & Lychee Green Tea, strawberry smoothie, and the snacks the owner had available -- everything was super delicious and the boba was the perfect texture!!! I loved the snacks, and got some for my mom too. Aside from the deliciousness of the drinks and snacks, I have to mention how friendly and funny the owner, Tommy was. This is the type of boba shop I would want to return to because it feels like I'm supporting a friend or family member. Overall amazing service :) The shop is interior is super cute too. There are tables for you to sit at, and it felt like I was at a boba shop in Asia. A very pleasant difference from other boba shops that look the same/have the same vibe. This place is truly fantastic, and the service is the best I've ever experienced. The owner, Tommy, is incredibly friendly and welcomes you with enthusiasm as soon as you enter. He provides excellent assistance with the menu and remains helpful throughout your visit. Additionally, he generously gives out hand sanitizer and wireless chargers to every customer. Went here with a friend for the first time this afternoon to try out new Boba places, and this spot did not disappoint. I had the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and the drink was very good and was done quickly. The shop overall had a very cozy vibe and the owner Tommy was very sweet and enthusiastic. Out of all the Boba places around Pasadena City College, this one stands out as underrated and deserving of more attention. Great tasting boba, you can taste the refreshing tea and the milk teas are easy to drink, doesn't leave a coating in your mouth like other places. Service is fantastic, making orders just to the customer's specifications with a positive attitude.
