I found another Assam Tea Milk made from scratch, seems organic and on spot for right sweetness and black tea flavor.
Tried this place for the first time with their snack combo deal which includes popcorn chicken and a selected menu of drinks. The popcorn chicken had a good crisp, and I liked the pepper powder. I got some pieces that were just tapioca flour though, but they gave a huge serving. The winter melon tea was refreshing, but I would maybe get 70% sweet instead of 50% sweet next time. All for $11.99!
Loved my dessert here. Order at the kiosk and there is something for everyone, including non-dairy options! Ordered for dine in but still got our dessert in disposable packaging :( they were out of one of the toppings but offered a substitute. Grass jelly bowl was very tasty. Perfect level of sweetness (low), and I especially loved the fresh taro. It's a paste, not chunks, and has nice flavor. Grass jelly had a stretchy quality I haven't encountered before, the only topping I wish was better was the sago - a bit hard, didn't seem too fresh. Would definitely come back for more desserts!
I tried their popcorn chicken for the very first time and it was somewhat decent. I really liked how they fry their popcorn chicken (in terms of their crunch). It looks like maybe tapioca starch was used. The way they make it adds another dimension of crunch. The flavor was a little lacking. I think the pepper in the batter was overpowering the other flavors. I think the popcorn chicken would go really well with some five-spice salt, similar to what Chinese restaurants serve with roast duck. I don't know if it was just my batch, but the popcorn chicken pieces are HUGE. I really wish they cut them into bite size pieces instead of chicken tender size pieces. Even their smaller pieces were either a big ball shape or strips. The pieces should be more uniform. I was initially a little bit concerned seeing black dots on the popcorn chicken, but when I took a bite, I realized it's pepper. It was a little alarming at first since I haven't had popcorn chicken prepared that way before. However, what was more alarming was how the popcorn chicken was cooked. The done-ness of the chicken was uneven. I had some pieces that were white and some of them quite pink. I don't think that's normal. Some parts of the batter were way more brown than some other pieces of popcorn chicken. I wish it came with basil. I feel like without it, it's missing something. The chicken wasn't very juicy, but I am glad it wasn't super dry either.
Found a new favorite for boba and snacks in Millbrae area. There are so many choices, boba drinks, fruit juice and even a DIY dessert. The combo deal is perfect for a quick bite ($12), we had popcorn chicken and boba milk tea, it;s a good deal. Their papaya milk was great my favorite too. I like the wall display of ingredients, it's really neat to see the real goji berries, sugar canes and sesame seeds they use. Will back for their DIY dessert soon.
Interesting little dessert spot in Millbrae near all the large Chinese restaurants. Service was definitely a bit slow - took 15ish minutes to get our order, but they also seem a bit under staffed so it's kinda understandable Drinks and desserts were ok. Pretty happy that they have durian desserts but that was about it
We ONLY got the black sesame paste. It was yummy, but not as smooth and creamy as we like it. Sweetness was just right though. But it was also more expensive than most places. The music inside was also SO loud....service was kinda slow cause it was just one girl too.
Had wanted to try this place after seeing a foodie blogger on Instagram recommend it as a good alternative to Meet Fresh price wise. Popped in as a group of 3 a little before 2:45pm on a gloomy weekday, and there were only a handful of other customers inside. They have some premade food/drinks in the refrigerated section on the side that you can choose from. Ordered at the kiosk and didn't have to wait too long before our food was ready! - Peach Gum with Red Dates Fresh Milk (hot) - my friend ordered this, and I enjoyed it! Warm and comforting - Ha Tea Handmade Signature - a variety of toppings in your choice of milk or milk tea. I opted for black milk tea as the "soup." A worker informed me that they were out of one of the toppings in the order, so I opted to sub in sago. This is essentially milk tea in bowl form with a TON of toppings haha. I ran out of the milk tea partway through, and one of the workers kindly gave me a refill. Staff were super kind, and the place was overall pretty quiet so this was a great place to chat and catch up. I was expecting to like this as much as Meet Fresh, but it didn't quite hit that for me. Would be open to coming back to try something else on their menu but not exactly itching to return asap
A bit of a wait but the menu has great selection and they sell some other snacks and desserts in the store as well. Combo was a good deal, chicken is fried per order I think and tea was good. Papaya milk was great, loved it. The menu on the ordering system is way too cluttered with too many sections though, they should really condense it more.
Solid flavors with a natural clean feel. Minimal additives highlights the crisp tea and subtle fruit tastes. Coexisting among a plethora of milk tea shops in the peninsula, HA Tea stands out with its emphasis on the core substance, tea. Where sweetness is required, it seems more natural sugars are used in the form of fruit. For those looking for a more guilt free choice, consider making a pit stop here. We came in for a quick to go order of a few drinks and they were all very tasty and refreshing. I especially enjoyed the mango milk which had a nice hint of mango. The bits of mango certainly made it pleasant to drink with the added texture and knowing the flavor and sweetness came directly from the fruit, not some sugary syrup. The other drinks we got were also yummy and the crushed fruit, again exemplifies their quality through fresh, hand-crafted drinks infused with the purest form of flavors. Overall, HA Tea Handmade checks all the boxes for me for something refreshing, natural, and delicious. You're not coming here for the flair but instead for the back to basics tea that started all the hype for this industry. If simple ingredients are all you'll want in your tea or fruit drink, that is all you'll get and taste here!
Always Fast service here. And they answered all my questions. Great to know their milk tea is non- dairy, which is a major plus for lactose intolerance like me. Parking is right in front. It's mostly pack, but we always still manage to get a spot. We live in the east bay, and don't mind paying the toll just to get fresh dessert from here. Our favorite go to spot for fresh, yummy dessert.
I visited for the first time last month. I came specifically for the diy dessert bowl. This is a comparison from my first visit to my fourth visit. 1ST VISIT Service was questionable. They have a self order kiosk but I had questions as the menu had duplicate items in english but different in chinese and didnt know what some items were. The cashier stated she cant read chinese and couldn't really explain what the items were. Although she did clarify the osmanthus jelly came in cube or noodle shape. I ordered hot, coconut soup with osmanthus cubes jelly, oolong jelly, red bean, peach gum, and taro. Cons: Came cold which makes sense as the jelly would probably melt. Hot should be removed as an option. I wanted sweet soup or tremella soup but they don't actually ever have it. So I picked coconut soup, which was very watery and lacked flavor. Osmanthus jelly came is wrong shape, asked for cubes and got noodles. PROS: The options were all delicious even though the coconut soup was light in flavor. You can taste all the individual flavors, and still worked well as a whole. The jellies had perfect firmness. The dessert was so refreshing, filling and affordable. It was so good despite the cons. I couldn't leave a 3 star review knowing its potential. Fast forward 3 visits later! FOURTH VISIT The staff is much more knowledgeable. The menu still includes items that are not available. The dessert bowl ordered came as ordered. Cold, coconut soup with osmanthus cubes jelly, oolong jelly, red bean, peach gum, and taro. The coconut soup has improved, thicker and flavorful. I have ordered a few drinks here but I return every week for the DIY dessert bowl. I don't know any other local eatery offering varieties of tea jelly. Which are all tasty! Trust me, Ive tried them all. Highly recommend giving it a try.
Came here for the first with a friend after lunch together. We were very full but of course we still decided to get dessert. We both decided on getting the DIY dessert bowl. You get to pick 5 (I think) toppings and a base. My friend picked her 5 topping with the coconut milk. I got small mochi balls, grass jelly, oolong jelly, lychee jelly, and fresh mango with a milk tea base. It tastes sooo good. I know everything else is pretty much pre-made but the we liked the milk tea base so much that we each bought another bottle of their HK milk tea. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. Also the lady at the counter was very helpful. I couldn't finish my bowl and asked for for a lid. The lid doesn't quite fit so she offered to tape it up for me and she wrapped it all up nice and tight :D

I'm vegan and was craving boba luckily I ran into this place. Ting Ting the manager was very kind and pointed out what I could order. The jasmine and oolong tea can be made with soy milk or oat milk. Make sure to ask them or write in the notes since it is not an option at the kiosk. I'm glad to find a place with vegan options. read more

When I first got there, the parking lot was full. The store is located on a block in Millbrae that hosts a bunch of other restaurants so be ready park a little further and walk a bit. This boba place was pretty decent, though the prices were on the expensive side. I got a Taiwan black tea with cheese cream and it came out in no less than 5 min. It was a good drink, but nothing that went above and beyond in terms of flavor. The combination of the black tea and cheese cream made it taste similar to a Thai tea with more pronounced earthy flavors, and the sweetness was still well balanced. I'm not sure if I'll be back given that the parking was tough and my drink wasn't extraordinary. read more

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews of this place but I truly think this is a gem in the bay! Ever since moving to the area, this has been the only boba place that kept me sane and curbed my boba cravings. I felt like I needed to say something because I really want them to stay in business for a long time. Let me explain... There aren't many boba places that use real fruit and special/healthy ingredients (e.g. peach gum, red dates, snow fungus, etc.) so I appreciate that TeaEver does! They have so many specialty and unique drinks here that I don't see elsewhere like the peach gum snow milk jelly -- I keep coming back to try all of them. Plus, their mango delight (mango sago with delicious jelly and coconut milk) is probably the most authentic in the area! I recommend trying their specialty drinks like the ones I mentioned above and the fruit ones. Their poster listing the top 10 drinks are solid! The milk tea drinks are alright but not as good as their specialty drinks. They seem like a mom and pop shop instead of a corporate chain so I definitely want to continue supporting them. I understand that sometimes they can be slow but they get so many orders and are understaffed so I really feel for them. People who are expecting immaculate customer service are honestly unreasonable. Try to understand that they're a small local shop and they have a very HK vibe. If you've been to HK, you know what I mean. Don't expect French laundry level service haha read more

We wanted to try a new boba place and decided to give this place a chance. The drinks were good! The strawberry smoothie tasted like a strawberry milkshake and the lychee dragonfruit drink tasted mostly like lychee and you couldn't tell there was any dragonfruit in it. We were disappointed because they didn't get our order right. We asked for "black boba" in the strawberry drink but instead they gave me some sort of clear jelly and for the dragon fruit drink we asked for no topping but they gave us clear jelly as well. We ordered both of these through door dash so maybe they did not get the memo if the order but we were still disappointed! read more

Another boba review! I think we need to take a boba break soon, or does the limit not exist? We got the dragon fruit lychee drink with cheese cream, and the Cantaloupe drink with cheese cream as well. The dragon fruit/lychee drink also came with small lychee aloe jello at the bottom, just like the jello snack you get at the grocery store!! The drinks were good and we preferred the lychee one more (because it's pink, and tastes just like the canned lychee drink -iykyk) it paired well with the cheese and gives it an overall cheesecake like taste :) The cantaloupe drink tasted just like a fruit smoothie and I would imagine they had blended fruits to make this! The wait time at this place is a bit longer than expected given we went not at a super busy time, but we would def come back again to support local businesses :) read more

I've read a few reviews from others and they were mostly disappointed about how it's no longer a spot for "egg puffs" anymore and the lack of Michelin-rated customer service. I mean, yeah the customer service is subpar, but this place is on to something. If you crave something different from the regular boba guys or happy lemon joint and you don't expected to be treated like royalty, then it's definitely worth a try! Aside from just their drinks looking aesthetically pleasing- their drinks were sooo good! Let me break it down for you: The dragon fruit lychee smoothie with creama and crystal boba hit differently. I don't think I've ever tried this unique flavor smoothie anywhere. I was kinda sus at first because it sounds like a cup full of diabetes, but oh my- it was fricking good! It reminds me of lychee ice cream when I had as a kid (such nostalgic feelings when I had my first sip). There was also a tinge of saltiness from the creama mixed in to give the drink a really good balance- the sweetness level was thus, perfect! BOMB DOT COM Mango delight was delicious! I think it was a mixture of coconut and mango smoothie with mango purée on the bottom! Remember that you have to mix the mango purée(?) on the bottom with the rest of the drink so you're not drinking a mouth full of syrupy stuff. I use to work at Quickly and there's a super similar drink like this one. We would've also added fresh mangoes to the top! My friend also ordered the tiger matcha milk tea. I didn't get a chance to try it, but it's also another one of their popular drinks. I'll definitely be back for it next time. To wrap it up- I'm judging on the quality of the drinks and not location or lack of customer service. It obv seems like they need to get their operations together because they seem to have trouble handling the volume of customers (that builds up pretty quickly). But other than that, I'll be back for more! read more
Super delish. I love this drink! I really enjoy the warm boba at the bottom and ice cold milk on the top. When you shake it or mix it, the flavors combined are refreshing. Almost like the milk after you're done eating cereal, so yummy! read more

The fresh orange green tea is so refreshing! Add in some crystal boba and sakura boba, i'm sold! What is sakura boba? Its LIKE regular boba EXCEPT it's 1) pink, 2) floral smelling, and 3) WHY NOT! They have a lot of different drinks, along with a super cute wall you can take drink photos at and some board games also. Parking: I suggest street parking if you can't find a spot right in front. read more

This newest boba joint in Millbrae is in soft opening and obscured under scaffolding at the moment. They also close quite early at 9. But so far so good. Spacious, classy decor, and respectable menu selection. I like it but to be honesy, it's got a steep uphill battle against the nearby Yifang. Tried so far: Taiwanese milk tea with grass jelly and Wukong milk tea with coffee jelly. Both are solid choices, with rich tea flavor and quality milk. Neither stood out as having a distinguishing taste tho. read more

My first time here! Love their Matcha red bean latte and Dragon fruit lychee slush. They were perfectly balanced and delicious! This place is a hidden gem with friendly staff and great service. Great vibe and highly recommended. Definitely will be coming back to try their other drinks. read more
I don't think I would ever get this tea again. As we approached, the shop was in a side street, something you would see in downtown areas. It was a nice location but walking in, the shop was narrow. There was a sections of wooded boards holding fruits, I wasn't sure if they were for sale or the employees come up to grab it for the drinks. Just looked a bit odd to me and overall environment was cluttered. We ordered on the kiosk and I got a shizuoka matcha latte without red bean and add pudding. I didn't see any option on the kiosk to do remove toppings or do no toppings. The matcha latte tasted like chalky milk, the only thing saving it was the sweetness of the egg pudding. read more

Try the coffee jelly! One of my favorite unique toppings when it comes to boba. I would pair it with the tiger milk tea. They have clean tables & boardgames and I'm honestea here playing league all the time(Lan party anyone?) ! Sleeper spot; starbucks is too crowded. read more

I got this drink at Milbrae and it is so good. I got at the 75% sweet and less ice. If you like it sweet, 100% would be perfect. They have one size for all drinks and it's big enough for people who love to sip boba everyday. The service is also very nice and she's so kind. I would definitely go back to this store if I ever visit Milbrae again. read more
We had dragon fruit and lychee smoothie + milk tea with grass jelly. Milk tea with grass jelly was a 4/5, flavor was nice and strong. Grass jelly consistency was perfect. Dragonfruit and lychee smoothie was 3/5. The flavor was just not hitting it. I couldn't really taste the dragon fruit, mostly lychee. read more

Tried out this new boba place after dinner nearby. I ordered the lychee & dragonfruit smoothie with cheese crema - it tasted as good as it looks, and it had the perfect amount of sweetness and bits of lychee. I couldn't stop drinking it! My friends got the matcha fresh milk and mango slush. I got to try them and those were good too. Would definitely come back to get the lychee drink again and try their other drinks as well! read more

First time trying this place and had a good experience! Lots of indoor seating and they use these remotes to tell you when your drink is ready! Don't forget to check in for a free topping! I got the okinawa milk tea with boba and pudding, regular sweatness and less ice. It wasn't overbearingly sweet and had a stronger tea taste. Just know that with some drinks, you can't adjust the sweetness. read more

I got the mixed fruit green tea. Wow! This drink is really refreshing with ACTUAL fruits which includes watermelons, mangoes, limes, strawberries, and passion fruit seeds. I would pick this place over YiFang. It is extremely reasonable for its price based on the amount of fruits I received. The winter melon was perfect. Not too sweet and very refreshing. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit with these two drinks. I'll definitely be back for more. read more
Located by the busy El Camino street on the outside of Millbrae's downtown area sits the boba place by the name of TeaEver. It's quite a small narrow shop that also peculiarly sells fresh fruit and boxed snacks. Their selection of boba drinks and snack items is very extensive and I ended up getting one of their recommended milk teas. It was pretty decent, comparable to the likes of ShareTea and similar establishments. TeaEver is a solid boba place I can see myself stopping by when in the area but not one I would go out of my way just to go to. read more

Worst boba shop experience I've ever had. Literally waited 40 minutes for our two drinks. We watched 3 people order after us and go before us, one who ordered 6 drinks and another who ordered 3. They didn't even start making ours until all those people had ordered and received their drinks. When we finally got ours, I told the lady that we've waited 40 minutes and she just goes "oh... sorry" then moves on. I ordered hot taro milk tea and it's mostly warm milk. I paid $5.50 for a cup of lukewarm milk that took 40 minutes to make. What a joke. read more
