H Mart has quickly become my family's favorite go-to for a fun outing. It's an experience. You grab a bite to eat at the food court, shop around for food you can't find anywhere else, then grab a pastry and a coffee afterwards. We ate sushi, Korean chicken tenders and kimchi fries at the food court today, then very successfully completed our mission for the perfect hot pot ingredients in the store. You want ten different kinds of mushrooms? They got it. You want that unheard of vegetable you saw on Chopped? They got it. You want Wagyu beef sliced so thin you can read the newspaper through it and still pay your rent? THEY GOT IT. This store is so well maintained, organized, beautiful, and basically, the Asian Whole Foods. We love coming here and will continue to shop here and try all the new offerings they have. read more

Would give this more stars if I could. Great variety of foods in the grocery and some of the pre-cooked Korean food made a great, easy, and tasty dinner. It's not the bright, fluorescent lighting in most grocery stores and shopping is actually enjoyable. The desserts were gorgeous (which included some beautiful cakes) and we enjoyed everything we got from the grocery and restaurants. There are also a ton of restaurants with tasty food and also boba. Other features included music, arcade, furniture stores, trinket stores, and it was overall a great experience. Can be a good place just to shop or come with your family and have fun. The restaurant and grocery food was super good, highly recommend! Also, if you are a kimchi lover like my mom, there's a big variety of different ones to choose from! Horrible items quality and no after sales service. I bought a metal steam pot almost an year ago and after few times used Its got a hole on the side of body. Hmart doesn't want to do a return because it's been over 90 days. A METAl item can got a hole after only few times use. And I only make steam food once a while. This pot it literally a trash made with under quality metal. Excuse me? I cannot return it. Ok I get it. They are ok with to sale me trash as long as I don't bring there trash back before 90 days. I love H-mart. I come here almost every week, however, I miss the Kpop MV's. I don't dislike the live band performance, but when It's a man twerking on stage, that's when I miss the Kpop Videos. Currently in a Korean food coma after going on a shopping spree here today. It's clean, fun music and has an amazing amount of mostly Korean products. The kid snack aisle is fun to browse and plenty of grab and go products/premade products if you don't want to cook from scratch. My husband and I love coming to H Mart. We've been fans of the chain for a long time, starting when we lived in Pasadena. We're glad to see H Mart in the Austin area. I particularly love coming to their food hall for lunch. They have a great variety of Asian food stalls where you can get Koren, Chinese, or Japanese food. I enjoy the variety and the prices are reasonable. They also have some other services such as a The Face Shop (Korean skincare), a bakery, a boba stand, and others. I also enjoy walking around the market area. They have a great fish market and a great produce section. There are always employees giving out samples. H Mart has an especially good cookie and candy aisle filled with so many Asian treats! Don't miss the chance to walk around this great Korean supermarket. read more

A well organized, clean Korean supermarket w lots of fresh produce, assorted ramen, fresh meats, fresh seafood. They even have 2 aisles of Indian spices, grains and snack foods. If u want to have hot pot or a bbq in your house, they sell all the small appliances necessary. If u want Asian hair products or beauty items, they have it. The supermarket also has numerous Asian eateries, Let Them Talk, a wine bar, Tous les Jours, a Korean bakery, Tori, a store w k-pop memorabilia, and Bono, a Korean hair salon and 2 stores selling Asian beauty products. H Mart is ok and has great selections. The prices are a bit marked up compared to the other Asian grocery stores is town. The best part is the Korean bbq cuts you can get by the pound. Also, they have a quite a bit of small Asian appliances like rice cookers, water heaters etc. prices are also marked up compared to the other local stores. They have a decent selection of shops and eateries as well. The isles are unconventional and can be inconvenient on a busy day. And prices aren't that marked up but you can definitely get get prices locally for the same products. Positive over all and the customer services is decent enough. read more

This is a fun mall like Asian food mart. A forth of it is asian food to order and little shops. The rest is a grocery store. They lost a star because I could not find a single vegetarian dish in the food court. Apparently no one who eats there is a vegetarian. Otherwise, it was a fun experience. Very nice H Mart. Clean, well stocked and organized. Looks new but also well managed by the looks of things. One of the best H Marts I have been too. I did not get an opportunity to test drive any of the restaurants in the food court but they looked interesting. Awesome mart that totally suits Austin. It's a bit far out north but in an area with spacious parking and other stores accompanying the area. Literally, this H mart has everything Asian related. More than the stereotypical "Korean" market it encompasses all Asian cultures. Here you can find all ingredients, snacks, and appliances. Not only that, they have fresh seafood area where there's people who will scoop up your picks for you from tanks. The food court is also next level. Not your typical mall like or other Hmart food courts where they are small shabby booths that serve food. They have spacious and designed booths surrounding a large section of seats and tables. Facing the tables is a stage with scheduled live performances. Next to the stage is also a full bar to enjoy Asian as well as American alcoholic beverages. There's also stores that sell clothes, make up, Asian herbal medicine, and stationary. My favorite part is always the bakery. Towards the registers is Tous Les Jours with a wide variety of pastries. This was one of the biggest I have been too in the states and it has a huge food court area. I love the selections of veggies and the fresh proteins that are offered. We drove up from San Antonio to buy groceries and this H-Mart did not disappoint! I've been to a number of H-Marts in CA, OR, NY, etc. and this is probably the biggest one I've seen so far (bigger than the one up in DFW!) and the food court is massive. Produce was well stocked, though not all of it was best quality - which can be understandable since it's 100+ degrees lately and hard to keep anything from wilting within minutes outdoors. Really wish I lived closer so I could do all my Asian grocery shopping here - really a one stop shop for all your Asian cooking needs. read more

Last week Saturday i went to visit my mom in Austin and mainly to finally visit the H Mart haha. This place is a girl's trip if you are obsessed with Asian culture especially Korean. When we first arrived it was around 11:30 and the lunch crowd was too crazy as of yet so we decided to try MIX which is Korean inspired street food. We decided to get something lite and sharing size since my mom was going to cook me some korean food once we got home so we ordered the kimchi gimbap which gimbap is my favorite no matter if it has kimchi or bulgogi you really cant go wrong with this dish! And we also order the bulgogi hot dog which I wasnt very impressed with I would of much rather just had the bulgogi by itself. Idk it was just the concept of it being in a hot dog bun with cheese over it that just was not a hit for me. Overall though MIX had very tasty food and great customer service! After we ate we decided to walk around the shopping around and look at clothes, skin care and make up products they offer. Which I love everything Korean literally! I love the clothing designs they have and of course the skin care and make up that I went over to The Face Shop and got some help information and help in finding the right products for me. The girls working in that area were very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. I ended up getting the the Miracle Finish CC Ultra Moist Cushion since I have dry skin throughout the year this product really helps add even more moisture into my face even after applying my skin care products as well as leaves a nice finish look to my face where it's not cakey or dry looking. Another plus last weekend they had B1G1 free so double score I got two cushions for $30 though it may seem like a lot it have no doubt in my mind that one cushion will last anywhere from 3-4 hours since a little bit goes a long way and still provides a nice amount of coverage! Lastly was shopping around which in the H Mart I could literally spend all day there and at time feel overwhelmed on what to buy that I this trip I took an ice chest just in case I wanted to buy the whole store haha! The aisles are very clean and clear when walking around and they products range from fresh fruits/veggies, to clean products for your house hold and yourself (i.e., shampoo, conditioner, etc) to cooking utensils like pots, pans, silverware, etc. This food is very fresh and some of it is even alive haha and what is nice about the H Mart though it has a large amount of Korean products they do carry other Asian culture products though i could not tell you myself what those are as I go for Korean products and food being half korean but I can tell you the culture inside H Mart is very diverse and welcoming that everyone seems to enjoy themselves and find what they need. Overall I love that Austin has an H Mart and I am hoping San Antonio gets one too as the Asian culture is continuing to grow! read more

I like having a nearby Asian supermarket with a great selection of goods and now that the initial crazy lines have died down, I've found it quick and convenient to stop by for last minute items. The only place in Austin that I've found affordable, fresh goldenberries is at Hmart and that alone makes it worthy of a stop for me. I came in recently for some, and was planning to go to HEB to pick up the ingredients for an oxtail pasta I was making but was actually able to find all the things I needed for that here as well, so they do have a good selection of non-specialty asian items as well. The only thing I still have to drive all the way across town for are fresh rice noodle sheets for making wide strips of noodles for pad kee mao. The food court and live music is a great touch, and the entire store is kept well organized and clean. Great spot! read more

Seriously, plan some time if you intend on going to HMart because it is giant, has a food court with good eats and tons of prepared foods worth checking out. First, I'll get this over with: if you are looking for Asian beauty products, this place has a terriffic selection! I was seriously impressed as someone who has ordered tons of products online. So glad to have a brick and mortar for purchases!!! The meat and fish selection is out of this world. PLUS, unlike many Asian markets, HMart does not have a fishy smell, which is greatly appreciated. Obviously there is a huge selection of anything you could want. Sauces, beverages, you name it! I went nuts over the food storage collection as they had many shapes and sizes I rarely see at really good prices. Hopefully the crowds have lessened, but if not, go early to miss them. read more

Well, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The store is mammoth, on a Sunday the aisles were full of people shopping which is a good sign. All kinds of Asian Foods available and lots of fresh vegetables, a meat market and a fish market. Even a tiny American food aisle. So what's my problem? Let me tell you... I bought quite a few things and then as we were going by the meat market I saw that they were advertising their ground meat 80/20 for $1.99 a pound per the big sign right on the case. We use a lot of ground beef so being as this was a great deal I asked for 10 lb. The lady who helped me was very nice and put it all in a fairly big heavy plastic bag and tied it up. I then noted that there was flank steak advertise at $5.99 a pound. I've always wanted to cook one so I asked for one. The young lady asked me which one I wanted and I chose one and she wrapped it up and handed it back to me to put in my cart. My 20 year old granddaughter had come along with me and we were just having a great time visiting and looking and sharing our cart to put all the different things we were buying in. Went to the checkout, busy but efficient. You can ask to have your receipt emailed to you which I did but I was also given a paper receipt which I appreciated because when I got home and put the 10 pounds of beef up in 1 lb Ziploc bags and then sat down and reviewed the receipt I noted that I was charged $3.99 a pound for the ground beef that was on sale for $1.99 a pound AND I was charged $7.99 a pound for the flank steak that was on sale for $5.99 a pound. I take full responsibility for visiting while I was checking out. The cash registers as the things are rung up are not easily visible at all . I admit I was distracted by my grandaughter as we are "chatty Cathy's. I should have looked at the receipt when I got to the car, (which I normally do), and turned around and walked right back in and gave them my cart back and got a refund. I also totally understand that accidents happen and people make mistakes. So why am I writing this? Because I contacted via email- through H Mart's website- because no one answered the phone, and advised them of all this and asked what I could do to get either the correct price or bring back everything and get my money back. I accessed the website through Yelp. That was 6 days ago. I held my review hoping someone would get back with me. It's now been than enough time for someone to get back with me. I left them my name my email and my phone number and requested a call. I will never go back here and I would advise anyone who's reading this to either pay close attention to pricing or don't go at all. I've never had an experience with H-E-B, Walmart, Randall's, Sprouts, where if I had a problem I was ignored. I don't care how good the prices maybe Customer Service is Number 1 to me Obviously not to H Mart. My recommendation is to avoid them. You will note if you follow me that very rarely do I give this low of a rating because I know how much people rely on Yelp but sadly in this case I feel they deserve it. read more

This was way more than a grocery store! They have the right side which is your default asian grocery store, but they went all out on the left side. They created a huge stage with live music. It's a bit odd since the day we went it was like country/oldies, I was digging it, but probably doesn't necessarily match up with the clientele. They also have a huge food court, they had dessert places, and a bunch of korean food options, from korean friend chicken to more street type dishes. Everything looked amazing. read more

It's almost like going home - the foods, the smells, and even the random products all remind me of my childhood.
