Holy crap, this is muy fancy.... and I love it! They have a great assortment of pick up and go items to put together a quick lunch. Lots of sandwich options, chips and salads- even a fully stocked sushi area. Not to mention the yummy smelling pizza! It looked great and there was line of people waiting to pick up their order. They also had some cafe seating outside and it looked really nice. Definitely am going to make another stop and pick up lunch soon! Just wish they had a coffee bar- maybe I missed it? read more

I love this grocery store and spend a lot of time and money shopping there, but this is unacceptable. Five, yes now five times... all separated by a couple of weeks/months... have I gone to get some air in my car tires and their air pump is broken. Every single time it's broken. It's been broken for longer than it's been working. Why!? An air pump is not a difficult piece of equipment to manage and maintain. Air for tires is important and with hundreds of people coming for gas every day, it's unacceptable for a gas station to continually have a broken air pump. Fix it and keep it operational. You're certainly doing enough business at this location to fix it. Once it's operational for a couple times in a row maybe I'll change my review back to a positive one. Until then, I'll be traveling 4-5 miles away into the ghetto to try and get air in my tires. Thanks South Flores market! 4/26 Update: Have tried again twice since my last update, two weeks apart. Still broken! STILL broken!!! How can something as simple as an air pump be broken year round? Unacceptable. 0/5 stars. 1/7/2018 Update: new year, same problem with the air pump at HEB. Love the location absolutely enjoy the store this is not your typical HEB in the sense it is small with less mid range products , this location definitely caters to the artsy hipster style. I love all the beer and wine options! I know the store is a lot smaller than the other locations so they tend to lack in other areas like deodorant options, tp options, shaving etc. with all the money that heb makes I wish they would've built a 2 story or 3 story building. We don't have many options living downtown without a car. My biggest complaint is how small the isles are. If you're staying at one of the nearby hotels, this little store is a must go. It's not a full-size H-E-B but it has most of everything you need. Great prices for local food items, including a pretty impressive beer and wine selection. And if you're short on time then try some of their pre-made meals or baked goods. Even thought the produce section is small, I was able to pick up some cheap bags of organic veggies and avocados for me to snack on. read more

I actually wrote a "love letter" to HEB corporate offices about this store. We live downtown and there isn't anywhere to shop other than So. Flores Market. Sounds like an opportunity to charge exorbitant prices for everything, right? Not only are they more than competitive they often beat Wal Mart and Target prices. I've heard the store described as hipster, I'm okay with that. The manager, Sharon is incredible, her admin Ernesto , and partners Cesar, Danny, Robert and Matthew are a joy to work with. Wow, I wish I had found this place before the last day of my trip! This HEB market is small, but it's definitely well stocked. I grabbed a blueberry muffin and cheese danish for breakfast and the cheese danish was honestly one of the best I've had. I also grabbed an energy drink for my last conference day and a large SmartWater, all under $8. I've been spending nearly $10 on less at the convention center every day. They have a wide bakery selection, quick grab meals, take and heat meals, and your standard grocery selection. They have a wide variety of drinks (including alcohol and craft beer) and frozen foods as well. The staff was very friendly and if I'm back in town I'll definitely try their pizza which seems to be a huge hit. If you need some quick groceries or a quick meal in this area, definitely check out this HEB! read more

This is a fantastic little grocery store across the street from where we stayed (Hampton Inn). In fact, reading about this place in a few hotel reviews was a minor factor in the decision. It's clean, bright, friendly, and has a nice selection of whatever supplies you need. We even found some Korean snacks and Korean cup noodle bowls, which was unexpected. On our last night, we also picked up quite a variety of local craft beer to take home with us. I think Saturday must be 90's night because all they were playing was music from that decade. At 23 years old I told my husband we must be younger than the anticipated demographic of 30 year olds. In my mind for whatever reason I expected an HEB Trader Joes, but miniature Central Market is more accurate. Parking has never been an issue and is actually usually less crowded than Trader Joes at the Quarry (as you can tell, I usually shop at Trader Joe.) The selection is ideal because it has mostly specialty, gourmet, organic, etc products as opposed to General Mills, Nabisco, Nestle etc though it carries the basics of those types of brands as well. There is even a good selection of Dr. Bronner's products as well as other "green" household items. Over all no complaints. read more

Love it!! It's perfect for the small things to make it a daily stop which is what I was hoping for. I don't like to buy in bulk, I want to be able to walk and grab dinner that I will prepare that night, so this is exactly what I had anticipated with a grocery store downtown. I could not be less impressed. Very disappointed after seeing it was #1 in the city. I understand it is downtown but it is tiny and didn't even have carts to put small children. Every team member is very friendly and ready to assist in any way. A natural cohesion exists within the team and it is outwardly noticeable. The location is not as large as your standard H-E-B and therefor not as fully stocked but it has fulfilled my needs every visit so far. Not a bad place when you need a few things but overall the prices were higher than what I typically pay at an average grocery store. I travel to plenty of cities around the country and when I fly into a place I go grocery shopping so I don't have to spend the next five days eating out. Well I came to H-E-B to get some fresh steaks and they only have previously frozen vacuumed sealed steaks. Same thing for the chicken. They have a great wine selection and always have something good for lunch! Try the creme brûlée cheesecake. The poke bowl is always a great go to for a light lunch. This store, like other H-E-B's, does not accept Apple Pay, which leads to exceedingly long lines with multiple transaction errors when using chip-based credit cards. Other major stores that I routinely shop at such as Whole Foods, CVS, and Target accept Apple Pay. Checkout with Apple Pay is rapid and seamless at these stores. Additionally, the hours of operation of this H-E-B are extremely limited when compared with other H-E-B in the city. read more

I work two blocks from this HEB location. I love it, because it's a nice walk. It's always clean inside. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I always see security. I love that I can get gas before and after work. The SoFlo Pizza inside is delicious, large and affordable. The pizza is best when eaten fresh. I enjoy self checkout because I just want to get my items and get out as quick as possible. Parking can be a bit annoying around 5 because everyone has to stop by, but that is probably the only negative. It serves its purpose as a market HEB. Selection of items is enough for a convenient market. Has seating outdoors to enjoy your pizza/beer or whatever items you bought. It's a Wednesday morning at 10 AM and I felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable with the amount of security guards that were following me around. There is always one at the door every time I come and it's actually reassuring to see him there. Usually. Today I came with the infant I babysit in a stroller and every time I turned around, a different security guard was standing at the end of the aisle staring at me. I did not get the chance to get all of the things I needed because of how apparent it was I was being followed. I do not believe I did anything to bring this strange attention upon myself. I was carrying a separate basket putting items in it the entire visit. Even during CHECKOUT WHILE PAYING there were TWO guards watching me. Then as I'm posting this review two of the cops that were staring at me drive past me while staring again. There's no reason I should feel this uncomfortable shopping for groceries. I will never come back to this H-E-B and I advise not coming to this location either unless you have the desire to be stalked today. read more

Leave it to HEB to create San Antonio's new downtown grocery store! Not only does this store cover the basics, it also offers some unique items as well. It looks small on the outside but is filled with variety on the inside. While this is not my neighborhood store, I love what it has to offer. Not only do you have grocery, you have fresh produce, ready to go meals, and fresh pizza made in store. And it is delicious! You can enjoy that pizza or other meal in their side patio area. They also have a gas station, which consistently is one of the cheaper stops in the city. Service is friendly and quick. Although there are only 3 checkout stands, lines are rarely long and you can be in and out quickly. Parking is not a problem either. While the aisles can be a little crowded, I understand this was probably done in order to maximize space for product selection. The store is always clean and well organized. I definitely recommend this store to those who live and work in the area as well as downtown visitors. And if you are a local, this location is worth a stop if you are in the area! read more
