Addressing Disabled Parking. HEB is the best Grocery store chain in the U.S. Having traveled throughout the USA North, South, East and West! This suggestion deals with parking for the Disabled! San Antonio having the reputation as Military City USA, there are a large amount of Disabled Vets who have remained in SA for the Weather, City Support, and Businesses who support us!! I would submit that most SA Businesses provide Disability Parking in accordance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). Having said that I would ask HEB to make more spaces for ALL the disabled folks! YES, there are cheaters out there who use a borrowed ADA Placard to park because they are too lazy to walk a few steps that we the Disabled can't do because of injury or pain! Note: Service Dogs are normally bigger dogs that don't fit in an HEB Basket. Those little dogs that people carry around are NOT service animals and have not received the training that is required to assist the disabled! Service Dogs are highly trained to assist those who are Disabled! It costs thousands of dollars to train one of of these dogs! Just because that little dog in that basket makes you feel good. I'd rather have the HEP-C than go to HEB, see? In general HEB is an excellent grocery store. It has some good deals and is still quite upscale with lots of free samples and it's also local in the sense that all your money is staying in Texas - supposedly. So in general I like it and a lot of the products I like as well, especially for produce and fresh unpasteurized orange juice. On the other hand they need to be a little bit more careful about the types of managers and employees that they hire, because there are some issues amongst the people working here. Several of the locations have had really rude people, enforcing really bad policies in some cases, so I think that they could make sure that they're putting really friendly people in charge instead of authoritative and unprofessional. read more

My antagonism is directed at HEB HQ marketing. I am well aware that your sale flyers can be different depending on the area. The flyer at work says Pineapples at $1.98 each but the flyer received at home they were 2 for $5.00. But what is the deal with having something on sale across the areas but none of your stores carry it. This week I found veal scallipini on sale for $10.97 a pound. Yeah, not cheap but I decided to splurge. I double checked the online sales, yes, on sale at my location. My home flyer also says on sale. I plan my shopping in advanced based on your sales. At My HEB, I found they don't carry it EVER. So I drive to the next closest HEB, not there either. So I push my luck and go to store number three. Oh, yeah, they have a box but the date expired so they can't sell it. So I give up and get some chicken sausage instead. This sausage cost me almost as much as the veal because of the cost of gas. So thanks a lot HEB marketing for ruining my veal piccata. read more

Our local NBC affiliate, KPRC, falls all over themselves praising HEB which is a Texas-based grocery chain. Coincidentally, HEB does a lot of advertising on channel 2. HEB sponsors our Houston Thanksgiving parade and other events. Their commercials feature Houston sports personalities. Everybody in Houston loves HEB it seems. The funny thing is nobody seems to be aware of HEB's lack of customer service, their constant inadequate inventory, or their store personnel's lackadaisical attitude toward their customers! We have been loyal customers of our local HEB since around 2000. The prices are good. But some time ago during about a two-year period they remodeled the store three frickin' times. And every time we had to relearn where everything was! It was a giant pain in the ass. And items that we liked were constantly disappearing from the shelves. At one point I asked a store manager about the constant remodeling and he said something about doing it to serve the customers better. It's not better if every 6 months we have to learn where everything is! After the pandemic started more and more items were out of stock. They had good reason to and did, blame that on supply problems which plagued many retailers nationwide at that time. But their poor inventory of necessities like pain medicine and fiber supplements had been happening for years before. They quit selling plain old Lipton iced tea mix. All that was left was flavored tea mixes and those damn Keurig cups. That may not seem to be a big deal but this is Texas. The great old South. We love our iced tea. Their excuse was that they were just doing what the customer wanted. You can't tell me that Southerners in Texas no longer enjoy plain old-fashioned instant tea! We used their home delivery service for a while but it was fraught with difficulties. Their website was so slow it would take me about 3 hours to order. They failed to give us our online discounts. At one point they wouldn't make a beer substitution even though they had done so in the past. They even refused to let me order beer for a few weeks. Their various departments don't communicate well with each other. As a side note to all of this, I went to use my Goodrx discount at the pharmacy and they wouldn't honor the price. Goodrx claimed that there can be a difference between your membership card price and the regular Goodrx coupon price! I went back again but clipped the wrong coupon. After pulling up the right one on my phone the HEB pharmacy rep still wouldn't honor it. I called the store's general manager and told him about the problems we had with his store and that we were no longer going to be shopping at his store after some 20 years. He didn't seem to care. He very nonchalantly said, "OK". But there is a silver lining to all of this. You could not ask for a better corporate partner in your city than H-E-B. They are ready in a moment's notice to respond to emergencies all over the State of Texas. The stores offer fresh produce and meats. The recall of products does not occur very often. They are very responsive to customer's needs. The H-E-B downtown is excellent given its vastly broad audience of tourists, employees, downtown residents, and the size of the store. read more

I am incredulous that in the midst of a global pandemic, H-E-B still does not support contact-less payment options such as Apple Pay, which are widely supported by their competitors (e.g., Whole Foods). What was once a minor inconvenience has now become a serious health concern. The WHO has repeatedly endorsed reducing physical contact with public objects such as payment terminals as a way to reduce transmission of COVID-19. HEB, please implement support for Apple Pay; this is long overdue and is now putting the health of your customers in jeopardy. read more

I live in SoCal and found they make an organic mayo but I could not find an ingredient list anywhere to save my life and called corporate customer service to ask about it. OMG, you would have thought I was attempting corporate espionage for even asking. I got such a run-a-round even from the supervisor that by the time I reached my limit on the BS meter my voice was shrilling and told the woman that it would have to be the last mayo on the planet before I would ever use it simply because of the way they acted. I waited on the phone for 25 minutes. This is terrible service from the corporate headquarters in San Antonio. I wanted to report a small jagged turkey bone in a container of HEB Cranberry Chicken Salad, which I purchased at HEB Friendswood last night. This is a serious quality control problem. Im sick and tired of going into H‑E‑B and running into the workers pushing around those huge carts! They are so rude and block all of the entry and exits in every department. They act like they are the customer. Im speaking about the workers who are doing the shopping for other people and load up the groceries on their cart. I dont mind sharing and at one point it was okay ubtil I had to stand outside of the isles while three of these carts were blocking the isles. The workers will take their sweet ole time and stand in the customer's way. One time a worker went and grabbed a few onions and set the produce bag on top of all of the other onions. I wanted an onion so I stood there waiting for her to move out of the way. She left the bag there and took out her phone. She stood there for 5 minutes and then picked up the bag and walked to her cart. How rude! She acted like she was the only person there. They will get in your way and then expect you to move for them. I'm tired of it. I really am. H‑E‑B needs to have a seperate department or area for these workers to shop for others. Hi, I am your regular every day customer at Baytown HEB store. Today I was in a hurry, just wanted a few things and it was just few things you could use one hand to count them, when I was done with shopping I found a cash register with no customers beside,so I put out my groceries on the counter and one of a sudden two ladies with two overloaded carts came in front of me, woman who was operating cash register nr 8 said that I have to move behind them and she just laughed at me I grabbed my staff and found another one, after that I went to the manager of the store and told him what happened, He said that somebody offered me another cash register but I already moved my staff. It looked like they ignored me and laughed at me. I have very sick husband, and may be I am a little nervous, but it was so rude - I had just a few things already on the counter. I don't think that I go there any more. May be it was a punishment that I left my former grocery store Kroger across the street I was quite happy with. They were always polite and helpful.
