Why do people get so upset about bad reviews of grocery chains? The billionaire owner doesn't care about the bad review unless it affects his/her (probably his) ability to make the next billion. In any case, it's an average Kroger with typically high prices, for me the HEB nearby is better, but there are some things I can get here and not there, and that's basically why we come here now and again. After ordering a huge haul of groceries from Kroger. I am going to miss the convenience of their delivery services since they have closed again for a second time here in San Antonio. H‑E‑B sadly has a monopoly in this city . The DOJ instead of going after Ticketmaster needs to go after H‑E‑B for its anti trust practices. The food Kroger delivers with its refrigerated trucks has brought fresh product time after time again. My only qualm with Kroger is their bagging practices they shove many items in a bag that may fit which is unacceptable. I don't believe in this Goreball warming climate change crap, and I ask in the delivery instructions to double bag, pack lightly, keep cold folds separate, keep raw meat separate and the only instructions that were followed was keeping the raw meat separate from the rest. Sadly a few of my salsas were damaged in the process and I had to seek out a refund for them. Their ice cream is pretty decent. And so is the Kroger bacon and especially the steaks. Not to mention ordering bottles of water delivered to your door step. I am going to miss Kroger here in San Antonio. Unfortunately it's going to be back to the HEB monopoly here in San Antonio where nobody monopolizes more than my HEB. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Kroger's delivery service since it first became available to me. I order my groceries from them every week and they have been good to me. It saddens me to hear that they will be closing their operations in San Antonio. I think Kroger is a great company and I wish they could continue their services here. read more

Drove 30 minutes at 11:30pm thinking it was a Grocery store just to find out it was a warehouse!!! Security guards was rude about letting us know it wasn't a real grocery store!! Why advertise it as a store if it isn't!! read more

How could you shop here? Gah! It sucks that Kroger's value proposition is 'refrigerated delivery trucks.' Oooh! Cold Cheerios! This place is trying to horn in on HEBs dominance, right in front of H-E-Buddy. They think that people will be tempted away with $15 off coupons, but once you tack on the delivery charge, why bother!? Kroger can't deliver beer and wine at this time. They want you to sign up for their rewards points programs to get fuel discounts, but there's nowhere to fill up with their gas in San Antonio. I tried them out, and the food wasn't delivered in great condition, and they substituted all kinds of things that I didn't welcome. My french bread loaf was smashed. The produce I got was pretty wilted and tiny. The avocados went straight in the trash. The tomatoes were heavily bruised. Kroger's generic products are nowhere near as good as the HEB generics, and they don't cater to the San Antonio flavors, they're just kinda generic. HEB supports the local community- it feels like betraying an old friend by shopping here. read more

I tried out Kroger delivery service mostly for the coupon I received in the mail but then their products caught my eye. They have the big box of Dino nuggets (I can only find small box at Target), and they have Entemann's donuts! I received nice produce and my meats were not spoiled. As with any delivery service, it can be hit or miss so shop at your own risk. read more

They delivered crushed bread, stabbed hot dog buns. Rotten bacon that would kill a small child if they ate it. Tubed meat mystery ground beef, when i specifically ordered 2 one pound packages of fresh chuck 80/20. The fresh sliced deli meat is slimy and sopping wet in the bag. Fresh sliced deli meat is NEVER like that.Unless its been sitting a long time. Days. Everything else is in a similar state. Over $200 of food being tossed now. Only thing safe is the canned goods. read more

Sadly, Kroger's presence in San Antonio, TX was a distribution center for online ordering and delivery. Even sadder is the fact it closed a few months ago. I ordered from them a few times as several items were cheaper than the gigantic monopoly known as HEB. The orders were always correct and delivered promptly. read more

We received our first Kroger delivery by Carolyn D. on 6/24/23. She waited a few minutes after dropping our groceries off to ensure we brought them in/they weren't taken from our porch (this seems to be happening to lots of people recently). We ordered only a few items, since this was our first attempt, but it included perishables and non perishables. The delivery arrived during the designated time. All the fridge items were still cold and bagged separately from our canned goods. Out of some of the items we ordered, the ground turkey looks fresh and correct color, our tortillas were unharmed, and the bananas were almost too perfect. The bananas are the only thing we've tried at the time of this review, but they were great! I am a fan of H‑E‑B, while my boyfriend is from the east coast and doesn't understand the lack of grocery stores in San Antonio. When he wanted to order from Kroger I was pretty hesitant, but there's nothing I can complain about and there's no reason why we wouldn't order delivery from them again. read more

Great place to get groceries! I love to shop with Kroger! They have very fresh produce, great prices on meat. They have free items every week and have great savings on many items. The delivery is always on time, the driver is professional and I rarely have problems with anything being wrong when delivered. They also give fuel points that has really helped us out on gas in our vehicles. Try them out! read more

I absolutely LOVE the Kroger delivery in my area. Produce and meat/seafood are always fresh. I've used the delivery probably 5 times so far and I have always been satisfied. Today I signed up for the Boost because how can you beat $60 for a year of delivered groceries? My time is valuable. I do not have time to go to the grocery store. I have to wait until the next day to get groceries delivered? NO PROBLEM - I will happily wait. This service is absolutely essential to my busy life. Plus groceries are very expensive. Kroger offers coupons I WILL use - and I can use them up to 5x!!!! Not some 'buy this and you get this stuff free nonsense'. As far as I am concerned, Kroger is knocking Wal-mart, Target and HEB out of the ball park with this service. THANK YOU, KROGER! Plus - they have amazing grocery bags that are huge, sturdy and blue. I give them to a neighbor that crochets mats for the homeless from grocery bags. So this is a win-win for my family and my community. read more

It's a warehouse and not a store. They should indicate that so people are not thinking they're going to a grocer. I heard they deliver goods but they need to be specific and tell people they are a warehouse in a trucking/loading district in the middle of nowhere. read more

I absolutely love Kroger delivery. Don't listen to all the other bad reviews--they really are amazing! I was getting very frustrated with HEB because the prices were going up and the quality was going down--and I've been super loyal to HEB for years. I caved and gave Kroger delivery a try about 5 weeks ago and haven't looked back. They ALWAYS deliver within the timeline provided, the food comes refrigerated, the quality of meat and produce is great, and the couple of interactions I have had with the drivers has been super friendly. I got a pork shoulder roast for $8 btw--their savings are excellent! Love Kroger delivery and have shared my great experience with all my friends! read more

Gave it 2 attempts and both were horrible! 1st order about half of the items were not in the order. 2nd try was just simply cancelled. I called Kroger and they could not tell me why it was cancelled, but just simply cancelled. Will never use again! I spent probably 30 mins of my time setting up the app and placing orders and both have been complete trash! I highly recommend you stay away from their online delivery! read more

After having a couple of major problems with inadequate stock and poor substitutions. of which I complained on yelp, they seem to have gotten their act together. The last 3 deliveries have been very good and the drivers polite and helpful. Hopefully they keep up the good job. read more

If you think shopping at Krogers Home delivery will save you a trip to a grocery store, you would be mistaken. I live in the Hill Country outside of San Antonio. I tried the service for 1 year and even purchased the Boost option. I always order the evening before my delivery day and avoid ordering items listed as low in stock in order to avoid items not being available. Every order had unavailable items that I was not informed until it was too late to make another selection. After every delivery I STILL had to go to a local grocery to get needed items that Kroger did not fulfill. Also, produce came very ripe each time. I will not be renewing my boost membership, as I have to still drive 15 miles to the nearest HEB grocery store to finish purchasing the groceries Kroger did not deliver. Today I was charges for Paper towels and Luncheon Meat that were not delivered. They were available, just not delivered. I did get those items refunded, but now I need to go shopping for those items plus 5 items that were not available after I ordered them. read more
