Did you know that you can legally drink alcohol out in the open along the Riverwalk? You can't have an open container while walking around at street level, but on the river, it's all good! One option would be to get a drink at the local bars, which tends to be expensive, and they're not generally happy with you running off with their glassware. Therefore, going to Lucky's is always a good option! You can grab a quart or a tallboy here, get it in the paper bag if you insist on drinking on street level, but you don't need it for the Riverwalk! Drink up, buddy! This place seems to sell a lot of crap! They have a variety of San Antonio souvenirs- t-shirts, hats, and such. I didn't see anything I needed. When I went, there were a couple of homeless folks in here. One was buying a fake rose packaged in a glass tube, and steel wool. Hmmm... The beer was cold, but they didn't have the sizes that I'd prefer for drinking on the Riverwalk. Buying a six pack rarely makes sense when you can keep buying individual beers, since the six-pack will get warm in the Texas heat quickly. There are better options around here for what you wanna get from here- there's a Walgreens down the street, and a CVS down the river. There's zero parking for this place.

On some occasions, I'll say, "I'm going to Pullman Market." The beau asks, "What for?" My answer: "To feel inspired." There are a few entrances, but you get the full effect coming through the front passing by the wood-fire grilled wagyu hot dog station before everything opens up around you. There's a little bit of everything here -- plants, produce, sauces, wine, indulgent bakery, coffee, a unique tallow body-care station, beautiful dried and living flower arrangements, and an impressive meat counter. We've especially enjoyed the wagyu, bavette and bone-in pork chops. I love seeing couples, families and solo adventurers wander through, and the whole place feels more like an elevated marketplace food hall you'd stumble into while traveling. The concierge has always been friendly and genuinely helpful. We've picked up food, wine, Momofuku soy sauce, holiday ornaments, skincare and plenty of fresh toasted Sonoran-style corn tortillas -- our favorite tortilla style and one we were delighted to first experience at Mezquite. I also love that Pullman Market lets you bring a little of the restaurant experience home, with select takeaways and ingredients connected to the food concepts throughout the market. On a few visits, we noticed the tortilla count was short, so we double-check before leaving now. When we brought it to management's attention, they were responsive and took care of it. We also once struck out looking for hominy and Mexican cheese, even though several teammembers throughout the market tried to track them down for us. Prices are on the higher end but the rewards program is worth joining if you come often, and I'll review the individual restaurants separately. Sometimes I leave with dinner, sometimes flowers or something unexpected, and sometimes just a few new ideas. Either way, Pullman Market remains one of my favorite Pearl stops for browsing, tasting and expanding the palate.

Also, any of the times that I have shopped here have not been too crowded, which is nice. The store is very well stocked & clean. The layout is not too bad either & better than other commissaries that I have shopped in. Generally speaking, commissary pricing is usually close to what you would pay out on the normal economy, however I have seen some items that have been higher than say, Walmart or HEB. But, the trade off is that you're not paying tax on your groceries here, so it kind of evens out at times. I also appreciate the fact that the times that I have been here, the self-checkout line has not been insanely long. I imagine it probably can be though, depending on what time of day you are shopping. Fortunately, I live about equal distance between here & FT Sam, so I can easily go to either, since they both have different offerings. However, this will definitely be my go to.

Then she was going to take an item back and check something on the shelf and was still avoiding eye contact, despite me politely saying, "Excuse me, Ma'am." I had to step in her path to keep her from leaving. I said, "Ma'am the bag you handed me didn't have all my purchases." She knew exactly who I was, and why I was there. It couldn't have been more obvious. She handed me the bag with the few small things in it and said,"Well you should have grabbed it." Really? So not only did you try to walk away without giving me my purchases, It's all my fault, too? My receipt shows I didn't get the sale price on two of the items I purchased. I'll be referring to Dollar General as the "Inconvenience Store" from now on.
