I ordered lunch here one afternoon a few months ago after spending a lovely afternoon at the beach with a friend. After hanging out, we parted ways & I was famished so I figured I'd finally try this place out. I ordered online & made some small tweaks to my order & ordered fries to go with my pita, which I ordered vegetarian, since I don't eat meat. I picked up my order. Everyone was friendly & the restaurant was clean & tidy. I had a feeling I should have checked my order & when I got home, I realized I made a mistake by not doing so. They had forgotten my fries & some other things, I tried calling, but no number was available (at the time) to contact anyone. I was famished like I had stated, so I just dug right in. The food was not what I had hoped for. Definitely not the best I've had. I tried adding the various condiments, still not very good (in my opinion). And I really, really wanted to like it. Just not happy with the overall taste & service. I wouldn't go back. As I see from other reviews, my experience is not the typical experience. Third time patronizing Gyromania and ordering the Gyro wrap combo exactly the same way. This visit however fell very short. Ordered fries as my side for my wrap and upon examining the contents of our bag to ensure accuracy, noticed there was maybe 7 fries in the bag. Thought maybe it was a mistake and asked the staff if was a mistake to have such few (and I mean few) fries with the order. The nice gentle assured me that the order only come with 8 fries! Like what?!! With the amount you spend on food, 8 fries?! Loved this place from the get go but they got really stingy real quick. I almost laughed out loud when he was so matter of fact! Again, not our first time eating and was never an issue. I am stunned and won't be returning. Gave them three stars because the food is actually really tasty but this is absolutely ridiculous. Update: Owner contacted us within mintues to fix their error. He assured us that the combo does come with a shareble portion and the error was made on their behalf. We ordered the gyromania fries which we have had in the past. There was one front counter worker who proceeded to use the register and handle food with his gloved hands. When the fries were ready, he asked what sauce we wanted and put it in a side container. He was not very knowledgeable. The fries were basically fries with dry chicken. Very little toppings and dry. It was a big disappointment for $19. I'm not sure we will be back. It had continued to decline since they opened a few years back. read more

Staff is helpful and welcoming. I can about 2pm so the place was spotless. Plenty of staff to keep the place clean. Glad to have gyros closer to home now. Driving all the way to Ventura from Silver Strand was too far. I got the lamb plate and it very good. I recommend the garlic sauce with the fries. The jalapeño sauce was also good. I've only ever had their salad plates, and they are heavenly. While I've tried some of their other meets, I think the lamb is their best option. Super happy this place opened up. They have some delicious food. Great space inside and I'm digging the blue decor. I had their chicken skewer wrap and it was delicious. The lemon and oil vinaigrette was fantastic, It made my chicken really juicy and delicious. I opted for the fries instead of rice and they were superb. I got mine on the side. Their OMG sauce is quite delicious. Overall I am a very happy customer. I can't wait to return and try their other items. I was there during breakfast time and their breakfast menu looked so good. When we walked in dining area was almost full but there was plenty of room for us.‼ We ordered our food and very helpful staff and seen that everybody was enjoying their job to which makes for a good atmosphere. Greek that's been Greece many times and this place has the BEST Freaking Gyros this side of Crete! Normally I like getting Lamb in my Gyros (which in most places is a mixture of processed lamb & beef) and theirs is great BUT they also have Pork wraps (which affectively are Gyros) and BOTH styles of Pork are the Bomb! (However, I give the edge to the souviaki). To add a little flair, try mixing the spicy feta sauce with the tzatziki. The lamb chops are great too. Dream come true!! Took the Onewheel around the Harbor today and decided to pick up lunch for my wife and daughter. Was so pleasantly surprised to Gyromania had opened up as I have desperately been searching for a quality Falafel like the ones I used to eat when I lived in Paris. Been telling my wife about them for years. Well, today was the day she finally got to Taste what a REAL falafel wrap taste like!! :) ....oh, and how could I forget the cucumber water.. was heading out and the owner noticed me with a ice water and offered me a cucumber water on the house, not only was it a nice thing to do but it was AMAZING!! I've never left a review for any place but I felt that I needed to for this place. Specifically for the salmon plate. The chef (there are two chefs but one of them) makes the most beautiful salmon. He leaves it perfectly crispy with the right amount of seasoning, honestly my favorite salmon I've had. I know I'm really going in on this salmon but please try it it's amazing! Living in Ventura County, there aren't too much options when it comes to Greek food. So when Gyromania finally opened, my wife and I were super excited. And we're happy to say it's really good! The the beef is very tasty and well seasoned. You can really taste the flavors in each bite. Now I'm really curious to try the lamb next time. We also got the Feta Fries and they were delicious. And the portion size....wow, they gave a lot. I got the Gyro and the beef was spilling out (my picture doesn't do justice on how much beef it had). You can never go wrong when the portion sizes are big. The prices are on par for Greek food around the area which is also good. I've had the chance to spend some time in Greece and eat local food and mistake me not this family owned restaurant has nothing to envy. They seemed very overstaffed when I went as we were the only people eating inside and there were at least 4 workers up front and even more back in the kitchen. Though the service was great, they were a little too attentive to us being the only people in there, so it felt like we were being watched which made us slightly uncomfortable. I went 15 miles out of my way to try this place, so had high hopes that--spoiler alert!--were summarily dashed. The decor is clean and features a bright, Mediterranean blue. I was surprised to find the place essentially empty at 6:15 p.m. (only one solo diner), but then several very friendly staff emerged. I found the menu difficult to decipher (no obvious gyro sandwich à la carte, no shareplate with dolmas, tatziki, falafel/meat, rice, etc.) And prices were surprisingly high for what is essentially a "fast food" vibe: over $16 (incl. tax) for a "wrap" and fries or rice, closer to $20 for dolmades or salmon plate. The lamb gyro was indeed good, though I was disappointed that the meat was in a steam pan and not visibly on a spit. The fries were a joke: cold and hard. They graciously swapped them for me for rice, but that, too, was underwhelming. I was also super disappointed in the Avgolemono soup ($8), which was watery and not rich in flavor. I *love* Greek food, and perhaps was overly excited for this meal, so it was doubly disappointing for me. read more

I just had lunch there yesterday and unfortunately I have to say goodbye because I received food poisoning from my chicken gyro... I was up all night throwing up with the worst stomach ache ever. Both shredded chicken and chicken sliced in chunks tasted the same. Pita bread isn't even warm. Rice very cold soggy and it is not even basmati. Their salad is just like something you can pick up in a grocery store. Salad dressing is like watered down no flavor or any tinge Greek flavoring. I'd normally don't write any reviews but after paying $90 I will never go back to this place again! Hello - we go here every week for my 87 year old mom as she loves the kids gyro plate with hummus and tzatziki and their white garlic sauce, which I feel is a home run. The set up is similar to Subway or Chipotle - where you work your way down the line - with the food arranged nicely and freshly. Overall - we have had nothing but good service. There have been a time or two - when it was a newer team member - and we had to clarify stuff, but it has all been good. I think the item that is really good that is not featured is the salmon. If you do like salmon, I will have to say that this is one of my favorite salmon preparations that they do here. Since the salmon is freshly cooked, you will most likely have to wait 10-15 minutes for it; but it is truly worth it. This place is an old reliable, steady eddy, for me and my family. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. They usually yell OPA! when you walk in... I am always the really obnoxious guy that will yell it before they have a chance to say it. What can I say?'!? When in Greece (or a Greek place in Oxnard), you have to become one with the people!! read more

This place is awesome. Portions are great, the food is top notch. I was stationed in Germany and they made the best Gyro's I have ever had. When I went to this place, hands down second best I have had. I have tried for years to find a place that is as good as Gyromania. This is our go to food spot. The lamb is so good, it's the same every time, extremely consistent. The gentleman at the front that's serves is great and gave us the recommendation to try to Gyro. I'll start by saying the food is amazing. No complaints there. The service however lets the place down. It's open until 9pm, I arrived at 7:45pm and tried to order a lamb and chicken plate. I was told, only what was on display was available which was the remnants of chicken and I think pork. Nothing else unless I wanted salad. I asked if they could make me something fresh from the back and was told no so I decided to leave. I've had this little issue before but I don't see why a place is open to 9pm and they cannot fulfill the menu one hour and fifteen minutes before they close. read more
