I used to love this place! Awesome prices and the gyros are really good! Staff is friendly and they definitely don't skimp on the sauce! I just had lunch there yesterday and unfortunately I have to say goodbye because I received food poisoning from my chicken gyro... I was up all night throwing up with the worst stomach ache ever. We ordered food to take to a concert at the Harbor. I thought the cost for the Greek salad was high, but when I got it, it was enough for 4 people, so the price was right. My husband got the lamb gyro, which he enjoyed with a generous helping of fries. Greek that's been Greece many times and this place has the BEST Freaking Gyros this side of Crete! Normally I like getting Lamb in my Gyros (which in most places is a mixture of processed lamb & beef) and theirs is great BUT they also have Pork wraps (which affectively are Gyros) and BOTH styles of Pork are the Bomb! (However, I give the edge to the souviaki). To add a little flair, try mixing the spicy feta sauce with the tzatziki. The lamb chops are great too. I'll start by saying the food is amazing. No complaints there. The service however lets the place down. It's open until 9pm, I arrived at 7:45pm and tried to order a lamb and chicken plate. I was told, only what was on display was available which was the remnants of chicken and I think pork. Nothing else unless I wanted salad. I asked if they could make me something fresh from the back and was told no so I decided to leave. I've had this little issue before but I don't see why a place is open to 9pm and they cannot fulfill the menu one hour and fifteen minutes before they close. read more

I've never left a review for any place but I felt that I needed to for this place. Specifically for the salmon plate. The chef (there are two chefs but one of them) makes the most beautiful salmon. He leaves it perfectly crispy with the right amount of seasoning, honestly my favorite salmon I've had. I know I'm really going in on this salmon but please try it it's amazing! I've been for fortunate enough to be a long time fan of Gyromania and could not wait for their location near our new home to open. A great family culture, with owners who care for their employees. I've only ever had their salad plates, and they are heavenly. While I've tried some of their other meets, I think the lamb is their best option. Super happy this place opened up. They have some delicious food. Great space inside and I'm digging the blue decor. I had their chicken skewer wrap and it was delicious. The lemon and oil vinaigrette was fantastic, It made my chicken really juicy and delicious. I opted for the fries instead of rice and they were superb. I got mine on the side. This place is awesome. Portions are great, the food is top notch. I was stationed in Germany and they made the best Gyro's I have ever had. When I went to this place, hands down second best I have had. I have tried for years to find a place that is as good as Gyromania. This is our go to food spot. I went 15 miles out of my way to try this place, so had high hopes that--spoiler alert!--were summarily dashed. The decor is clean and features a bright, Mediterranean blue. I was surprised to find the place essentially empty at 6:15 p.m. (only one solo diner), but then several very friendly staff emerged. I found the menu difficult to decipher (no obvious gyro sandwich à la carte, no shareplate with dolmas, tatziki, falafel/meat, rice, etc.) And prices were surprisingly high for what is essentially a "fast food" vibe: over $16 (incl. tax) for a "wrap" and fries or rice, closer to $20 for dolmades or salmon plate. The lamb gyro was indeed good, though I was disappointed that the meat was in a steam pan and not visibly on a spit. The fries were a joke: cold and hard. They graciously swapped them for me for rice, but that, too, was underwhelming. I was also super disappointed in the Avgolemono soup ($8), which was watery and not rich in flavor. They seemed very overstaffed when I went as we were the only people eating inside and there were at least 4 workers up front and even more back in the kitchen. Though the service was great, they were a little too attentive to us being the only people in there, so it felt like we were being watched which made us slightly uncomfortable. Dream come true!! Took the Onewheel around the Harbor today and decided to pick up lunch for my wife and daughter. Was so pleasantly surprised to Gyromania had opened up as I have desperately been searching for a quality Falafel like the ones I used to eat when I lived in Paris. Been telling my wife about them for years. Well, today was the day she finally got to Taste what a REAL falafel wrap taste like!! :) ....oh, and how could I forget the cucumber water.. was heading out and the owner noticed me with a ice water and offered me a cucumber water on the house, not only was it a nice thing to do but it was AMAZING!! Thanks again! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Living in Ventura County, there aren't too much options when it comes to Greek food. So when Gyromania finally opened, my wife and I were super excited. And we're happy to say it's really good! The the beef is very tasty and well seasoned. You can really taste the flavors in each bite. Now I'm really curious to try the lamb next time. We also got the Feta Fries and they were delicious. And the portion size....wow, they gave a lot. I got the Gyro and the beef was spilling out (my picture doesn't do justice on how much beef it had). You can never go wrong when the portion sizes are big. The prices are on par for Greek food around the area which is also good. We were all excited to try the food, it would be our first time. Hello - we go here every week for my 87 year old mom as she loves the kids gyro plate with hummus and tzatziki and their white garlic sauce, which I feel is a home run. The set up is similar to Subway or Chipotle - where you work your way down the line - with the food arranged nicely and freshly. Overall - we have had nothing but good service. There have been a time or two - when it was a newer team member - and we had to clarify stuff, but it has all been good. I think the item that is really good that is not featured is the salmon. If you do like salmon, I will have to say that this is one of my favorite salmon preparations that they do here. Since the salmon is freshly cooked, you will most likely have to wait 10-15 minutes for it; but it is truly worth it. This place is an old reliable, steady eddy, for me and my family. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. They usually yell OPA! when you walk in... I am always the really obnoxious guy that will yell it before they have a chance to say it. What can I say?'!? What you have to know about this place is two things: They have the nicest staff - I mean nicer by a mile than many other close restaurants in the area. I don't know how they hire but -- these folks are so welcoming, helpful and always go the extra mile. Second is the value of what you get is some of the best in Ventura County. The portions are large and there is no skimping. In general I feel like the food is very good - probably a 4 for me overall so it's the staff that give it that 5th star. I've had the salmon and the chicken - and far prefer the salmon. It tastes fresher and really goes well with the greek salad type ingredients. The chicken was fine - a little dry but the flavor was good. The salad type items you add on are all solid - and greatly enhance the flavor of the protein. My daughter likes the sweets as well - but I do keto and don't do any sugar with limited carbs. I will say to watch the portion size as I got so much chicken (and was so hungry so...so my fault!) I kind of overdid it and my ketone's took a dive..but again all on me. The good thing here is that you can easily get two meals out of what they provide. Based off the reviews I had to make my way in to try a lamb gyro plate combo. $25 it was a heaping bag of food that came with the lamb, rice, pita bread, tomato/onion salad, tzatziki, fries and a drink. It's chipotle/subway style ordering down the line. I like the ability to sample something. The customer service is hands down a major distinguishing factor and unparalleled to most places. The watermelon water and cucumber water were both refreshing and delicious. The lamb and fries were a bit saltier than I'd like but were still consumed.
