We picked this spot because it received such great reviews. It did not disappoint. The food was amazing and ample for everyone. The venue is beautiful clean, open and welcoming. The town center is attractive with plenty of parking. My wife and I ordered combo #8 (the grilled combo) and #10 combo with gyro, chicken kabobs and meat kabobs. They were delicious and the meat was served perfectly medium rare. The hummus was fresh and creamy. The saffron rice absolutely fabulous. Everything was perfect. There is an option for al fresco dining on the patio with umbrellas. The ordering is at the counter but they deliver to the table. They are very conscientious and kind. The food here was great. Very flavorful and a lot of bang for your buck. What wasn't great was the seating capacity indoors and the front of house service person was less engaged than I would like to have seen her. She was nice enough, however, she was quick with her responses and without thinking of the impact to new patron perception and how that would affect our overall view of our experience. Again, the food was wonderful and we will definitely be back for the food. We live in San Diego. Green Olive is the place to come to when you're wanting a freshly prepared meal. Give yourself 10-15 minutes before the food is served. This is not a fast food establishment, so come with patience. I ordered the mixed grill combo, which includes marinated beef, chicken, and a Kafka kabob. I wanted to try everything here, but this combo was perfect. It also comes with a small salad, homemade hummus, and saffron rice. The hummus!! Omg it is the creamiest and most delicious hummus you'll put in your mouth. I would buy a tub of this if I could! I also enjoyed the salad dressing. It was tangy and lemony. The saffron rice was fluffy, fragrant and delicious as well. The green olive is one of my favorite places to get mediterranean food. They have fast service, friendly employees, and authentic food. The location of the restaurant is easy to fine, but there are only a couple of parking spots in front of the restaurant but it seems like there are always some when I visit. There might be a parking structure somewhere but I am unaware of it. I mainly get the chicken kabob plate while my SO usually gets the gyro kabob royal. The chicken was super tender and full of flavor. I swear the garlic sauce that they give you on the side is to die for. Dip the meat in this sauce and you won't regret it! The green sauce was really good too. Everything else tasted so fresh from the veggies to the hummus. The rice was also piping hot and seasoned just right. I really like this place. Ventura location I buy to go. Their hummus is really good and can buy in two sizes. Being in the Santa Cruz market, makes it easy to shop and order food first while waiting. Falafels after cooked all the way through since they are not balls. Love the jalapeño green sauce. Shawarma and rice amazing and deserts are wonderful wonderful. The Green Olive now has a few different locations in Ventura County, and this one is not to be confused with their location inside the Chicago Liquor Store on Ventura Road. That place is basically a take out establishment, but this one is more of a counter service type restaurant. This location is right next to the Plaza Stadium Theaters, so you might want to try eating here if you are also going to the movies. The food here is excellent, but it's definitely nothing fancy at all. You just go here for the food. I ordered the Gyro Wrap which goes for $11.99. This gyro comes with a small salad as well as a side of pickles and peppers. The portions are large and the food is quite tasty. They do have tables to dine inside, and you can also order take out. Beware, they also do charge a nominal service charge to use credit cards, which is not typical of most restaurants. read more

What a delicious find!!! After watching a movie we took a stroll around downtown Oxnard and spotted Green Olive with a welcoming and friendly staff. The space is open with lots of seating for small and large groups as well as outdoor seating. The food is delicious and each plate comes with so much food!!! Great portions to share or take home. We ordered the #8 Mixed grilled combo that came with 3 skewers; one steak that was cooked to perfection, chicken that was seasoned perfectly and the kafta kabob that was a table favorite!! The rice was flavorful and the salad and its dressing were so tasty. We also ordered the #10 Gyro Mix that included the meats above but also had gyro instead of the kabob. Both were filling and absolutely fantastic. We added the grilled tomatoes and jalapeños that truly enhanced our meal! Overpriced, tiny salad, I got Royal plate, the gyro meat wasn't that tasty, the tabouli was below average, the chicken was ok but nothing special. I don't know what it was but I developed a queasy stomach withing and hour. I eat Mediterranean Food at least 2x a week but the place I go to Zara is so much better. All I could think of was how I wished I had gone to In-N-Out for two burgers instead of spending $55 for two meals and Tabouli, no drinks. I won't be back.
