Mike was the owner and Head Chef and a great head Chef.. anybody who follows me know I don't really get down with Mediterranean food however this place made me a fan cannot complain, places like this are bringing me closer to eating Mediterranean at least three to four times a month THE GRUB: I had the Lamb Chop plate and my wife had the mixed grill combo.. all were cooked perfectly. The Lamb Chop plate had four lamb chops rice hummus and a salad I substituted the salad for hummus as it came with pita bread and since I love pita bread I doubled up my hummus my wife had the big grill combo which was three skewers filet mignon, chicken and a ground beef kebab.She said she's in love.. not with me but this place..I know what she really meant.. The location is beautiful on the outside ,plenty of outside seating for the space and the inside is clean and smells great. They also have dessert which I was not ready to eat but look very good I may get one for my morning meal. Overall this was a 5 out of five they had a Juneteenth Festival going on across the street I'm glad I ate here before I went over there they had very little variety over there and I would have been disappointed and probably ended up with the bubble guts. read more

We were visiting the area and found this spot, and honestly we're really glad we did. We ordered the lamb chops, gyro, and beef kofta. Everything was so good. The lamb chops were the standout for us, super tender and full of flavor. Even the jalapeño on the side was good! The guy who helped us was also very warm and friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Overall just a really good experience with delicious food and great service. I was at the Cinco De Mayo lowrider car show and walked by. A little while later I was hungry and decided to try it out. Can't tell you about parking since the streets were blocked off for the car show. Staff was friendly, helpful, nice. Answered questions, and was patient. Menu is pretty large, plenty of choices and variety. I chose a large combo trio platter with chicken, beef, and gyro meat. It also came with salad, hummus, rice, and a pita type bread. The portion was very large and it was ok tasting. The food was good but not spectacular. Giving it 4 stars because of the friendly staff, large portions and the price was reasonable. The food here was great. Very flavorful and a lot of bang for your buck. What wasn't great was the seating capacity indoors and the front of house service person was less engaged than I would like to have seen her. She was nice enough, however, she was quick with her responses and without thinking of the impact to new patron perception and how that would affect our overall view of our experience. Again, the food was wonderful and we will definitely be back for the food. We live in San Diego. The first restaurant that popped up on Yelp and I'm so glad I came here! Omg forget going to a fancy restaurant for legit Mediterranean food. Green Olive is the place to come to when you're wanting a freshly prepared meal. Give yourself 10-15 minutes before the food is served. This is not a fast food establishment, so come with patience. I ordered the mixed grill combo, which includes marinated beef, chicken, and a Kafka kabob. I wanted to try everything here, but this combo was perfect. It also comes with a small salad, homemade hummus, and saffron rice. The hummus!! Omg it is the creamiest and most delicious hummus you'll put in your mouth. I would buy a tub of this if I could! I also enjoyed the salad dressing. It was tangy and lemony. The saffron rice was fluffy, fragrant and delicious as well. The restaurant itself is clean, spacious and they also have a nice outdoor patio too. Overall, this place is the real deal for Mediterranean food! I most definitely will come back soon. The green olive is one of my favorite places to get mediterranean food. They have fast service, friendly employees, and authentic food. The location of the restaurant is easy to fine, but there are only a couple of parking spots in front of the restaurant but it seems like there are always some when I visit. There might be a parking structure somewhere but I am unaware of it. I mainly get the chicken kabob plate while my SO usually gets the gyro kabob royal. The chicken was super tender and full of flavor. I swear the garlic sauce that they give you on the side is to die for. Dip the meat in this sauce and you won't regret it! The green sauce was really good too. Everything else tasted so fresh from the veggies to the hummus. The rice was also piping hot and seasoned just right. They were delicious and the meat was served perfectly medium rare. The hummus was fresh and creamy. The saffron rice absolutely fabulous. Everything was perfect. I really like this place. Ventura location I buy to go. Their hummus is really good and can buy in two sizes. Being in the Santa Cruz market, makes it easy to shop and order food first while waiting. Falafels after cooked all the way through since they are not balls. Love the jalapeño green sauce. Shawarma and rice amazing and deserts are wonderful wonderful. Oxnard location has good sitting but parking can be a nightmare especially on rainy days. Customer service is not bad. But nice to make sure you're happy. Baklava good. read more

I was informed by manager Mike (incompetent) that the price to order online is 4x the cost of in house service. Pitas are $3.99 each (1 piece of bread) if you need delivery ,... but only $1 if you eat there? How does this make sense? No server needed, No table to serve, no table to clean, no floor to sweep, no plates to clean ,,, yet a simple out the door order to go will intentionally cost you 4x the price, for flatbread??? The food is good but not that good!!! I loved this place but after spending @$40 for 10 pieces of bread I will spend my money elsewhere. The Green Olive now has a few different locations in Ventura County, and this one is not to be confused with their location inside the Chicago Liquor Store on Ventura Road. That place is basically a take out establishment, but this one is more of a counter service type restaurant. This location is right next to the Plaza Stadium Theaters, so you might want to try eating here if you are also going to the movies. The food here is excellent, but it's definitely nothing fancy at all. You just go here for the food. I ordered the Gyro Wrap which goes for $11.99. This gyro comes with a small salad as well as a side of pickles and peppers. The portions are large and the food is quite tasty. They do have tables to dine inside, and you can also order take out. Beware, they also do charge a nominal service charge to use credit cards, which is not typical of most restaurants. read more

The space is open with lots of seating for small and large groups as well as outdoor seating. The food is delicious and each plate comes with so much food!!! Great portions to share or take home. We ordered the #8 Mixed grilled combo that came with 3 skewers; one steak that was cooked to perfection, chicken that was seasoned perfectly and the kafta kabob that was a table favorite!! The rice was flavorful and the salad and its dressing were so tasty. We also ordered the #10 Gyro Mix that included the meats above but also had gyro instead of the kabob. Both were filling and absolutely fantastic. We added the grilled tomatoes and jalapeños that truly enhanced our meal!
