This place had great authentic Mexican food but it has closed down. Looks like they were ran out by a big construction project. Sucks!

Found this little hole in the wall in TJ.. Not traditional food that you find in TJ. They have a wide variety of meats dishes mixed different ways. I ate the Chicken Mole and it was great. hand made tortillas in front of you small salsa bar and amazing service.. If you want a nice place to eat that steps out of the traditional boring TJ food this is the bomb.. read more

Soooo gooood. I haven't been this full in a long while, totally worth the discomfort. Tiny little spot, we almost missed it walking by across the street. Excellent service, and Omar explained the home style menu to our whole group with patience and pride. This place was amazing! Just 2 minutes off of the main street of Revolutionary Avenue oh, this place is definitely a Hidden Gem. I went here because of the Yelp reviews. I had an omelette with beef and potato, rice, beans, avocado, a watermelon agua fresca, and a Mexican Coke all for a hundred and six pesos. That's around $5 US I believe. I was shocked by how good the food tasted. Also, the environment was very inviting. It's a very small shop, with only space for about five to six people, so it feels very intimate. They have a TV rotating 2000s music videos. The two gentlemen who were there were very friendly, talking to us about our trip and Tijuana, and asking our opinion on the food. It was all homemade and fresh and tasted amazing. I would definitely go back if in Tijuana. If you're looking for a quick place for breakfast or lunch this is definitely worth a try. So this place has been quite popular amongst tourists crossing the border and trying to experience authentic mexican food. Even though it's small and can't accommodate a large crowd, I think that only adds to the charm of the place. They have all sorts of traditional dishes in here, like flautas, tacos, tortas, etc. The cool thing about this place si that they make all of their tortillas in the house. They have tons of salsas and condiments. Don't worry, if you're not a fan of spicy sauces, they have some that aren't as hot. It's cool to come here because you really feel like you're eating at a house. Everything tastes so home made and people working here are super friendly and personable. I would recommend this place for anyone to try out at least once. You can get some prime people watching time here while you eat some delicious food. read more

Food was ok; however owner really tried to please us by running to store and getting items that they had ran out of plus he gave my dd and me the avocado he claimed was for his personal use.The one thing that I noticed was that hygiene is an issue here. They ran to get some cabbage and started chopping without washing it and put it on our sopes. Very unrelated to this issue, we found out my dd had paratyphoid (aka...salmonella) that same evening due to 3 prior months of digestive problems so please wash your hands and make sure fruits and veggies are washed with disinfectant. Once more time, salmonella not related to this food stand but be aware of hygiene issues. Another issue is that people go by smoking all the time and I just can't stand that. La comida esta bien y el dueno se esmero por complacernos solo que pienso que falta hygiene. Fueron a traer col (repollo) para nuestros sopes y no la lavaron. Esa misma noche, NO realacionado a este puesto, nos enteramos que mi hija que ya estaba sufriendo de problemas digestivos desde hace 3 meses , tenia paratifico b ( salmonella) . Una vez mas, el problema de mi hija no esta relacionado con este puesto de comida pero piensen bien en hygiene en general. Our young family of five ventured down to Tijuana for the day to grab lunch and do a little shopping, and this place did not disappoint! It was like having lunch in mama's kitchen--we sat at the large table in front of the kitchen and the chef prepared our lunch right in front of us as we ordered...including the tortillas! Part of our purpose in traveling to TJ was to practice our Spanish, but I was relieved that the staff all spoke English as well. I have never had such a hot, fresh, delicious fish taco in my life! read more

This little restaurant is amazing! Not the typical taco stand you find in tj. They do have tacos, but the rest of the food is unique and delicious. In short, it is what I would imagine, if I had a Mexican grandma and went to her house for an amazing home cooked meal. read more

For our first walk-in visit to Tijuana we headed for Dona Adela. Not too hard to find and we recognized it from the Yelp pictures. What a great find! The owner, Omar, was very helpful, eager to please and completely fluent in English. I opted for the daily "especial" and my wife had pollo mole. Both were tasty, tender, and delicious. Omar convinced us to try tepache, a slightly fermented home-brew pineapple drink that was really fantastic. The food is described by Omar as "home-style." I would just call it delicious. A very nice introduction to Tijuana--except for the two-hour wait to return. read more
