This is a hidden gem! I highly recommend you try their hot premium cacao drink and the Enmoladas de queso! Wow! So impressed!

Support small businesses!! Excellent service! They speak enough English Such a cute & clean gourmet chocolate shop for drinks and sweets! Really enjoyed the sitting room, different jars of goodies being sold (trying the black and the red mole when I make chicken, unsure how it'll be since the second ingredient is sugar). I really wanted to bring home their amazing Guava Marmalade but it was sold out. I almost want to return soon just to get this one item (though several jars as gifts). The guava jam was good but didn't stand out like the marmalade. Ask for a taste when you're there. Nut pie was delish! Similar to a less sweet pecan pie. Sweet enough but not overly sweet. Definitely worth trying if you like nuts. Champuraddo con expreso drink wasn't as thick as I thought it would be, though much of it was later found at the bottom of the mug. Not to my liking since it's not sweet and has a bitter taste (unlike too much dark chocolate, can't put my finger on it). Canela hot chocolate (cinnamon) was much better! I preferred this to the champuraddo. Everyone else raved about their frozen hot chocolate, think shake style. Looked good. I'll probably try that next time on a hotter day.

Muy amable servicio. El chocolate es muy rico y el mole también. El restaurante tiene un ambiente muy relajante.

This is the best mole I've ever had. I basically licked the plate clean. I highly recommend this spot.

Two tamals, two different moles. YUM. Oh and a hot chocolate.

This is a tricky place to review, as the food is simply so unique and unexpected. Bit wow is it DELICIOUS! The owner (also my excellent server) recommended two tamals with two moles. The tamals (one with cheese, one with chicken) were very thin and flat, and the filling wasn't identifiable. The two moles--a poblano and a Colorado--were much super liquid-y, which meant they ran into each other on the plate and it was tricky to identity which was which. Who cares!! The tastes were just so damn good! I quickly figured out the trick is to mash the tamal into the mole, giving a much more robust bite. He also suggested a cup of hot chocolate, which I would never have ordered, but will every time I visit this place. I have no idea how they make any of this, but it is insanely good, satisfying, and unique. The space feels like stepping into a different and very special world compared with busy TJ just outside the door. It is welcoming and full of charm and character. I will definitely return.

Closed on Sundays. Came Monday morning at 10:45am. Since I was the only customer at the moment, the owner gave me a little history on chocolate and the chocolate making process. Food was authentic. I had a tamale mole (no meat; corn dough, chocolate sauce, hint of Chile not spicy, cacao nibs). Also had hot chocolate w/ cacao nibs. Meant for real chocolate lovers (dark chocolate; not milk/sugared down types). I love chocolate and I've never experienced anything too chocolate, so if you have, might not be as enjoyable. Overall pleasant experience and would recommend.

I followed another reviewers advice and got the Chocolate tamale with mole negro & chocolate con espresso. I was almost brought to tears with how happy I was enjoying such quality and a very beautiful quaint shop setting. Certainly more of a highlight than I was expecting. Cost 140 pesos or about $7.50. A gentleman explained to me the history and processing of the cacao. Even bringing some of the full-sized fruit to the table for me to see. This was upscale. The food was not made to be scarfed down. I'm a big guy and I took my time savoring every bite spending about 40 minutes in the establishment. This could just be the cacao talking, but I love you all and the world is a beautiful place. Yeah, that's what you get when you have a ton of cacao nibs in wonderful chocolate Mole :-)

Tamales with mole sauces are amazing, each order comes with two and you can pick different selection with different moles. We got the vegetarian with red mole and cheese with black mole, both are pack with flavor and I cherish every bite. We also got sopes, one of which is crickets (chapulines) and guacamole and that's the best!!! I fear that it will be a long time to my next visit so although we are 90% full we got another order, taquitos, so I can try the legendary ants. That is, the most amazing, such an earthy taste, no wonder people go crazy about this morsel. In terms of drinks, I got the chocolate Classico and hubby got the etole, mine was definitely better. The etole is on the liquidy side which I am not use to. There's a little store where one can get lots of goodies from Oaxaca, such as crickets, salsa with crickets, worm salt, the this really amazing purple garlic snack. I can't wait to come visit again.

Had the vegetarian tamale with the rojo mole The chicken tamale with the Negra Mole We don't really like tamales but the mole was fabulous We bought a jar of the negra mole for $5. They told us a few recipes to make with it. They gave us a tiny sample mug of hot chocolate that was amazing. We walked here from the Mercado M Hidalgo

Tamal Vegetariano, Enmoladas con mole negro y coloradito.

Such a gem of a place! The owners are friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, happily answering any question thrown their way. For starters, the vegetarian items are, for the most part, vegan or made to be. You can opt out of cheese on some of them and Voila! The mole is already made with water instead of chicken stock. The gorditas are cooked in olive oil. The hot chocolate can be made with a water base instead of milk--the chocolate is so flavorful you don't miss out on anything by going this route. The rice is also chicken stock free. Before concluding your visit you must browse around the merchandise area. Between the agave syrups, moles, chocolate tablets and chocolate products imported from Oaxaca, you have many options for amazingly delicious souvenirs.

An absolutely amazing chocolate and mole shop one block off of revolution. Everything made by hand and atmosphere is new and cool. This shop has been around for years and Mexicans drive for hours to visit here. If your on Revolution, this is a must see. It's just past the arch and left. Yeh, not the best area and a strange location for such a restaurant, but worth the walk. For us Gringos, come for lunch.
