This place was good, & good customer service. I had the green chilaquiles, not spicy but crunchy the way I like them, the beans were delicious, eggs on point.
The place is small and hot inside but it's worth the wait. The food is delicious and the friendly service. The owner was friendly and would talk about his plates and what he recommends. If you're the area it's a must try.

What an incredible find in San Ysidro! The food was excellent, vibrant flavor with outstanding service as well. Daniela was the perfect waitress being attentive, inviting, and kind. The atmosphere is casual and familiar with a warm hacienda vibe like someone's abuela was cooking for family. I had the machaca plate with a café de olla, it was late morning feast!what a pleasant sight seeing gringos and Latinos alike enjoying the experience equally. El Rincón is a must if you are in the area and looking for just the right spot!
The chilequiles and el jugo soup was so great, flavorful and authentic. Family owned and operated and the service is top notch! We enjoyed our visit and meal here and will return when we come to town. Cute little set up as well with great Music. They also offer customers dining in free Pan while awaiting their meals. Yum!

Definitely the best Mexican breakfast spot in San Ysidro. Every breakfast dish I tried was excellent! Located right on the boulevard, small little place but with big flavor. Great customer service, they are very attentive from the moment you walk in. The cafe de casa is a must have (cafe de la olla). They bring you out chips with warm refried beans will you wait for your meal, and a person walks buy all the tables either a tray of sweet bread (pan dulce) which is excellent with your coffee.
I started my breakfast off with a delicious cup of Cafe de Olla. I was then given some complimentary chips and beans. The chips appeared to be freshly fried and with the beans were a perfect start to a delicious meal. I ordered an omelette and I typically don't get chicken with my omelette but I decided to try something different so I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Omelette. I was pleasantly surprised and this omelette was bursting with flavor! The chicken was shredded and had a very nice flavor - with the chipotle sauce it put it over the top! I got the potatoes and paid extra for beans I also got the corn tortillas. I will definitely be back and try their other items.

It's true, food is love and the owners care about the quality and taste of their Mexican cuisine. This place is not typical, it is special. I ordered the El Guero omelette, potatoes, and home made corn tortillas. Diego one of the sons, said they cook everything individually and on La Plancha the flavors of my meal are memorable. I think that is the best omelette I ever had, yummy. Such a cute place to stop in at eat at, its right off the freeway, so if you are coming south, stop in and have a delicious meal. They also gave me chips and beans while i waited all home made. Thank you for making my day. I wish them all the love and continued success. The service was also impeccable, simply they care.
Overall a tasty late lunch. I've never had either of these dishes and they were both very flavorful. I really liked the carne en su jurors. The broth was so rich but not heavy. The wet carne asada taco wasn't my fave, the sauce was a little too tangy. The potatoes in the pork dish were a tiny bit overcooked and on of the chops was really thin, overall flavor was great though. Looking forward to returning and trying their pozole and caldo de res.
Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you this little hole-in-the-wall spot serves up some seriously authentic Mexican food. The breakfast options? To die for. Generous portions, flavorful dishes, and the option to add protein to most entrées for just a couple bucks more. Everything came out hot and fresh, though a bit on the salty side but that might just be my taste buds talking. Heads up: extras like chips, salsa, and condiments aren't complimentary, so expect some added charges if you ask for them. Still, the food makes it worth it. Our server was friendly and took care of us without a hitch. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

What a surprise! I happened to be in the area and I knew I had to try this restaurant out. I saw this restaurant on instagram. And it's a little bit of a drive from where I live. But today I happen to be in the area and I told my husband to try this place out. He was so happy! Once you place your order our waitress came with a big plate of sweet bread and you get to pick one! I picked the concha and my husband got the pineapple empanada! We ordered a bit of everything. My husbands go to meal always is chilaquiles. So he ordered the DIVORCIADOS $16.50 Half green and half red with carne asada and beans. We also got the CARNE EN SU JUGO $15.99 And I got the MENUDO ROJO $15.50 Let me start off by saying everything was amazing! It all tasted like it was homemade! Perfectly seasoned, with hand made tortillas. The carne en su jugo was really good! I understand why they are known for that dish. I loved my Menudo! I was craving it and it was perfect. The chilaquiles, the chips weren't soggy, they still had a bite to them. The sauces had so much flavor! My husband and I left with full bellies and a big smile on our faces! All the waitresses and waiters were so nice! Diego was telling us the story of the restaurant. Which was nice to hear. All family owned. Hopefully they open another restaurant closer to us!!! Fingers crossed! I will definitely come back to this restaurant and recommend it to all my family and friends! read more

Food I've tried, Taquitos,salsa, chillaquilles,Menudo,beans ,milanesa,tortillas hechas a mano! When my sister and I cross the border to go home, this is our go to place. Somebody in that kitchen Cares about what they're making for Me & You, and I can taste it ,in every bite of food. The lettuce , tomatoe, and all veggies are always fresh and super clean as is the restaurant. We met Diego today, he is the owners son,very respectful, courteous and attentive as were the waitresses. An absolute gem of a place in San ysidro serving up the real deal! I had been wanting to try this place for a while now and I finally got a chance to see for myself. A friend at work asked me if I had ever been a few years back, and I've had it bookmarked ever since. The reviews are great and they don't lie! It took a while to visit, because usually if I'm down in the San Ysidro area I am actually going or coming back from Tijuana. And so why would I eat on this side of the border? Actually in some cases, the closer you get to the border, the better the place gets! Let's just say you won't be disappointed here. The very first thing that impressed me was the simple fact that instead of chips and salsa they had brought us chips and beans! I mean this was a cool deviation from the normal chips and salsa. Hopefully others get the idea. The menu is pretty expansive, everything from breakfast to traditional combination plates. I ordered the huevos divorciados, and the lady got the chilaquiles in mole sauce. Also had the Mexican coffee, café de olla. Awesome! Service was excellent and friendly, offering us refills on our coffee. The food itself was prepared flawlessly, and we vowed to return in the near future. Salasa Chips were extremely oily with oil bubbles on them. I ordered pancakes and 2 horchatas and it came out to $22 didn't know pancakes can be that expensive. Not enough syrup to go on the pancakes either I have to ask a couple times read more

Ok! The food is Fire! Homemade tortillas? Check. Perfectly seasoned carne asada and machaca? Check. A spicy salsa that I've never quite tasted anything like it before, but in a good way? Check. Did I get my money's worth? Check. I walked in here after yelping "breakfast burritos" near me, after coming from a dentist appointment. (Don't come at me, I was hungry, and I didn't want to eat before they looked at my teefs.) My Spanish is not so good, but the cashier and I were able to communicate effectively enough. I waited less than 10 minutes for my to-go order. The place had a like home vibe with the workers and customers chatting and saying their goodbyes as they left. Although as I was leaving, two liquor store loiterers blessed me with catcalls as I crossed the street. And as that was happening, simultaneously, a homeless person was peering into my car window hard, in search of opportunities... An interesting detour to get some delicious burritos, would you agree? read more

This food was not shy -- everything we tried here was rich and flavorful and super authentic. We stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch, and it was pretty busy. Not a lot of parking, the interior of the restaurant felt cozy with some tightly packed tables and delicious aromas. We tried: Enmoladas con Pollo - The chicken was chicken, and the mole was absolutely bomb. A little on the runnier side and definitely heavy on the cocoa, the fresh tortillas soak it all up. Every bite was tender, meaty, and warming. Carne en su Jugo - yes, it's summertime and yes, I got the caldo, and yes, it was totally worth the abuela-status. The carne en su jugo was SO good. Rich meaty broth, with generous chunks of beef and bacon, and tons of delicious beans. Slightly spicy, super fresh and nourishing. Definitely worth trying. read more
