So happy I found this spot. In the morning I was running errands in national city. Came here and the churro French toast caught my eye. I got that to star things off with their house coffee ! The chilaquiles with the poblano is amazing ! Se of the best chilaquiles I've ever had: me and my buddy also shared the BLTA sandwich and it was so good ! Food was okay, serving was average, only got 2 tortillas with my Mexican Dish and couldn't find waitress for about 15 minutes, my girlfriend ordered crepes, it took them about 40 minutes to cook them only to get the wrong ones (filling). Cute spot, waitresses were nice, and courteous. The food was similar to what you would get at Cocina 35 along with the price. The beans had a different taste to them, not necessarily a casero taste. Perhaps they added a spice or something else. Not bad, just not what I expected when eating beans. Overall a cute place decor is cute, Freda Kahlo, Loteria, plants and colorful. This place is a hidden gem in San Diego. My friends took me here for a late breakfast and they food is delicious. They are known for their chilaquiles and have plenty several choices of sauces. I didn't try the chilaquiles but will get them next time. I had the mollete with chorizo. That was absolutely delicious. The portion size was great. They have horchata and they give it to you in a big glass. They have great service and the staff is friendly. It's great place to eat with friends and family. The salsa had a comforting familiar taste and my huevos ranchers were hot, fresh and delicious. The café de la oya was abundant and really good. It was definitely worth the price. We hosted an event here and had a terrible experience. The owner double-booked the space and notified us last minute, pushing our start time from 10 am to 11am. The prior event ran over by nearly 2.5 hours, and some of us didn't get to eat until around 1:30pm. Staff was overwhelmed, slow, and made multiple mistakes. When I asked about clearing up the previous event, the waitress said "don't tell me, I'm only the waitress, talk to the owner". Of course the owner was difficult to find and we had to clear tables and trash ourselves, rearrange furniture, and sit in direct sun on a hot day, our cake melted. The owner was defensive when we voiced concerns, and though we got a small discount, the event was completely ruined. Extremely disappointed at the lack of professionalism from staff and management, this was an event that we booked since March and it was not cheap. read more

They have a huge menu offering so many different options . unfortunately what they charge and the portions they give are two different things. All the waitresses are polite, but their service is terrible they need some basic lessons in server etiquette regarding taking orders how to serve items, and not forgetting and keeping the customer waiting. The food was high priced what I ordered was average not great and not hot either.
