Wow super recomendado/ recommended. This place was delicious. I have no complaints except for the weird tasting tap water but they have SO MANY other drinks options. The caffe de olla 10/10 it was also served with cookies on the side!!! Yummy. For food, we got the desayuno jefe de jefes which allows you to pick your choice of omelette and chilaquiles: I got the omelette perron y chilaquiles de mole... SO DELICIOUS. We also got the desayuno el patron with the red chilaquiles and the Nutella French toast. Also very delicious. The service was great! The waitress was so attentive and friendly. We tried coming here a few months ago but they were closing up. Finally had a chance to re-try this little gem. Based off old Yelp pics, it looks like the business revamped their menu + interior. The aesthetics of this little cafe is so cute + social media worthy! From the interior, to the food/drink presentation, & everything in between. They have a small shared parking lot with other businesses. We got lucky as some patrons were leaving. When we walked in we were immediately seated. There is limited tables so I can see it getting busy. When we went, it was a full house. But one thing I must say - they are QUICK without us feeling rushed! We ordered a horchata, soda, birria fries, & the el mamado omelette. The food came out in what felt like less than 5mins!! I ordered the omelette with refried beans, rosemary potatoes, & tortillas. My omelette was perfect! Could've been a little hotter, but no complaints. I loved the taste & texture, everything paired well. My husband ordered the birria fries. The birria was so tender & the flavors were there! We asked for additional hot sauce - their salsas were not spicy enough for us. But as you read my other reviews, we have a MAJOR tolerance for spice. So what's not spicy for us can be spicy for others. Our total was $51 which was deff reasonable for everything we got. honestly obsessed. The food was so good and everything looked incredibly aesthetically pleasing -- like every plate looked picture-perfect. The whole restaurant has the cutest girly vibe too. The decor is super pretty, colorful, and such a fun place to take photos or go out with friends. It's one of those spots where the atmosphere makes the experience even better. My husband and I were excited to finally try this place! The photos I see of the food always look so yummy, and it definitely lived dip to the hype! At first I was worried they were cash only, but they do accept card payments. There is limited seating but the dining area is super cute! I ordered the machaca and eggs, while my husband ordered a burrito (can't remember which one). Our food was so tasty and flavorful and beautifully plated! My favorite on my plate were the potatoes; they were seasoned so well and were perfect! This Cafe has now become my favorite Cafe in the SouthBay. Been to many but this one is the complete package, the food, drinks, vibe & customer service is on point. Everything we've eaten here has been great, portions are a perfect size for a good quick breakfast or lunch. They have one of the better beans I've had, it has a chorizo flavor to it & they have the best rosemary potatoes & French Toast I've ever had. Love their omelettes my favorite is the Paisa Omelette. My other favorite item is the Molletes De Frijole y Queso, it's torta bread with spread beans & cheese & salsa, just like mom made growing up, delicious. We also love the presentation of the food, you can tell the cooks take pride in cooking their food. And their drinks are amazing, from Cafe De La Jolla & Agaus like the Guva agua which was amazing & me & my daughter's favorite the Chocolate Banana milk shake, my Andia said it taste exactly like the one I use to make her when she was little, honestly I think this one is better. I had the chilaquiles with mole and green salsas with added chicken. Paired it with the "anti-inflammatory" juice drink. Flavors are bold and in beautiful harmony. They don't skimp on the seasonings, herbs, or time spent. The execution of each part of the dish was treated with attention to detail that is palate pleasing. Very small restaurant, but not too busy on a Friday morning. Can't imagine how it gets on the weekends. But food and service were great!! Except for the girl not bringing my friend the coffee that he ordered. But I understand they were short staffed. They were very friendly and the food and drinks were good, therefore it wasn't a biggie. She was taking care of all the tables and you can tell she really did try to stay on top of everything. I was in need of a coffee for me and a snack for my little; when I saw cafe in the name of this establishment I wrongfully assumed that this was just a little local coffee spot. Guys, this place is a straight up treasure. Maybe it was the time of day, but it was fairly quiet and unassuming. Walking into the cafe transports you; you can tell a lot of effort and consideration was made in curating a beautiful and unique environment. Their menu was enormous; I wish we had been hungrier. We ordered a large iced coffee and a conchita; they only had jumbo sized coffee, peculiarly, so I upsized to one of those because the need for caffeine is real -- -- I don't know what kind of magic their barista did but my iced coffee was amazing. I was super impressed. My little one inhaled his pan dulce too; while a little crumbly on top (as it should be), the bread was sweet, soft, and tasted fresh. I was here like 6yrs ago and loved the breakfast plate I had. Last week, I decided to bring my elder parents, wife, teenage son and a fam friend. The menu is confusing too many items. The food is bland. They try hard to make it feel really "vintage Mexican" style. I had the carne asada l think the El Patronn plate. It was a basic table a sunny side up egg, some chilaquiles and beans. The carne asada was dry and hard... I noticed that other tables who ordered the carne asada got the same. My teenager got the "basic breakfast" which turned out to be the best of all...at a way better price. We tried the crepes at 15$ each. They were not crepes, they were very thin pancakes...no good. Dolche Cafe is really cute inside! They are located in Solana Beach, so I'm not sure if they changed locations since my visit. There are a lot of options on their menu, so I had a little trouble narrowing it down LOL. After the cashier's recommendations, I ended up getting the Lomo torta, a strawberry tea refresher with boba, and the blue machine spirulina toast. Everything came out so beautifully presented! My refresher came out in a mason jar with sliced strawberries and white and black colored bobas. It was refreshing, but not sweet enough for me haha. The toast was pretty with the spirulina spread and bananas, kiwi, blueberries, and kiwi! I also enjoyed the torta! It was served with seasoned fries that were nice and crispy. The torta was huge and came with pork tenderloin, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, red onions, and avocado on a toasted telera bread with chipotle aioli. It was so flavorful and tasty! read more

A quaint little cafe has popped up in Solana Beach just down the street from a couple of well-known Mexican eateries. The gray exterior of the building (part of John's Market) was adorned with some cute wall art. The inside setup was a large dining room with a succulent plant at each table and enough capacity for about 40 diners. I was probably one of their first customers during a weekend lunch hour as the place was empty when I arrived. A server handed me a four page menu with an extensive list of food and drink offerings. It would be fair to say that more than half of the food items were breakfast oriented. The remaining portion was dedicated to sandwiches, tortas, fries, and enchiladas if you wanted lunch fare. For a drink, I chose a jamaica aguas frescas that was served in a large 32 oz mason jar. The hibiscus flavor was less sweet than in other restaurants where I've ordered this flowery fresh water. I should have gone with my initial gut feeling which was the strawberry flavor. The Huevos Con Chorizo was what I selected for my meal. The plate consisted of scrambled eggs with minced pork sausage, refried beans, rosemary potatoes, salsa, and corn tortillas. The fresh tortillas made a difference. Because they were warm and soft, that made them easy to nosh on when I filled each tortilla with some eggs, sausage, and beans. I did notice their business address has recently changed. Does this mean they have moved to Chula Vista, or is it a second location? If they have permanently relocated, then that is a shame because what made this cafe stand out was its rustic charm that won't be replicated on a highly commercialized block in the South Bay area. read more

What a cute café! Dolche Café is truly a hidden gem! (And I don't use that term often.) The food is delicious and flavorful and the service is great! The inside is cutely decorated with green decor and inspirational quotes. My man and I both had the carne asada and eggs. Beware of the jalapeño-- it packs a punch but it paired well with the food. We also ordered the strawberry water (very worth it) and regular coffee that came with cute animal crackers and was served on a board. The place was full when we got there and after being seated 20 minutes later we found ourselves in their quite crowded dining area. I don't enjoy sitting in the walkway but, I'll do it. My husband got the Jefe plate (?) that had various breakfast items to try. He loved it. He also ordered a frapp. I tried some of both as well- great! I had the spicy shrimp taco plate. I don't remember the exact name (enchilados?). I wouldn't order again. It just was meh. Could've used some crema maybe and the beans had a weird texture. I ordered a tiramisu latte which I thought tasted bitter and burnt. They were kind enough to remove it from my bill. It looked adorable though! Presentation is spot on! All in all be ready to be close to your neighbor especially if it's a full house. Food was good and coffee was great. Got the mole chilaquiles and café de olla. I just didn't like the little wood thing and mug coffee was in and on because they seemed very old and wasted. There were two guys helping with the tables, one was a little more helpful that the other younger one. We did have to keep asking for things more than 2 to 3 times or I would get up and get things from table next to us if no one was there so that was a little annoying. I've been wanting to try their new place. It's a lot bigger than the last location they were at. Parking is very very minimal, so be aware of that when coming in. If you come during peak time, they run out of seats very quickly because of how small they are. They have tons of options for food and drinks! So many to choose from. I was here just a couple of days ago. I ordered the carne asada breakfast. It's was really good. And I was surprised at how big their horchata was! I couldn't even finish it. The prices are very reasonable with the portions they give. I did speak with the owner and other workers because I remembered them. They said they're hoping to find a bigger location in Chula Vista with better parking too. Because they share the parking lot with other tenants in the building including the liquor store. The employees including the owner are so sweet! They speak primarily Spanish here, but I did not feel out of place or unwelcome just because I didn't speak Spanish. read more

On the former premises of the much-missed dive fave Don Chuy's, Dolche Café offers a new brunch spot in the area once semi-affectionately known as the barrio of Solano Beach. The space is light and airy, with whimsical murals both inside and out. Dolche styles itself as Latin Fussion (sic) and the menu seems to fit the bill: there are Latino, "American" and Southern Californian items on a substantive, yet fairly disciplined menu. In addition to Mexican fare, there are hints of South American touches and one of the owners informed me that there were plans to offer more. My wife ordered the Dolce Simple Breakfast (2 eggs any style, hash browns, choice of breakfast meat and toast). She opted to have the eggs sunny-side up, which looked perfectly cooked; and the sugar spiced bacon, which had a sweet, chili flavor to them. The latter was absolutely delicious! I opted for the churro French toast. The portion was substantial, with a brioche-style bread. While it was very tasty, I did have a couple of nits: first, it was supposed to be topped with strawberries, bananas and blueberries--it was missing the last. Second, they also topped it with whipped cream, which is fine given the dish, but it was clearly out of a spray can. But overall, the meal was very good and the staff excellent. The owners of this breakfast joint add on their tip for waiting on their tables on top of the price of their lousy food. I think it's unfair for you to force you to pay a tip at their own restaurant. I think that a party of 8 isn't a party table. So just remember to leave granny and grandpa at home because they will be adding their fair share of a tip for taking them out for breakfast.
