Enchiladas suizas

I'm giving this place two stars because the service provided by the poor waitress was excellent, despite the fact that she was the only one serving customers. I can't speak for the other dishes, but the enchiladas suizas were bland. Just by looking at the color and consistency of the sauce, I knew they wouldn't be good. The accompanying rice was also flavorless, and some of the grains were hard (perhaps stale). The torta de lomo was also a disappointment. It consisted of two thick slices of meat that, likewise, lacked any flavor. If you do go, you're better off ordering breakfast, the people sitting next to us said theirs was delicious, it was a sweet dish, though I didn't see exactly what it was.

We tried coming here a few months ago but they were closing up. Finally had a chance to re-try this little gem. Based off old Yelp pics, it looks like the business revamped their menu + interior. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The aesthetics of this little cafe is so cute + social media worthy! From the interior, to the food/drink presentation, & everything in between.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a small shared parking lot with other businesses. We got lucky as some patrons were leaving. When we walked in we were immediately seated. There is limited tables so I can see it getting busy. When we went, it was a full house. But one thing I must say - they are QUICK without us feeling rushed! We ordered a horchata, soda, birria fries, & the el mamado omelette. The food came out in what felt like less than 5mins!! I ordered the omelette with refried beans, rosemary potatoes, & tortillas. My omelette was perfect! Could've been a little hotter, but no complaints. I loved the taste & texture, everything paired well. My husband ordered the birria fries. The birria was so tender & the flavors were there! We asked for additional hot sauce - their salsas were not spicy enough for us. But as you read my other reviews, we have a MAJOR tolerance for spice. So what's not spicy for us can be spicy for others. Our total was $51 which was deff reasonable for everything we got. Definitely a cute hidden gem to try if you're in the area! Glad I was finally able to check this spot off my list.

Eggs in the side

Shout out to our server Luis! He was amazing. Knew what to recommend and checked in us often. Food was excellent. Bae is still talking about the chilaquiles. The best Au for me to describe these are deliciously sauced and topped wet nachos. Great hangover food. I get the eggs on the side. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quaint restaurant with a small parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived just ahead of a rush. All tables were filled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hidden gem. If you find yourself in Chula Vista don't sleep on this place! Oh, peep the photo. Cookies served with the coffee. Nice touch!

Desayuno del Jefe de Jefes Desayuno del Patron

Wow super recomendado/ recommended. This place was delicious. I have no complaints except for the weird tasting tap water but they have SO MANY other drinks options. The caffe de olla 10/10 it was also served with cookies on the side!!! Yummy. For food, we got the desayuno jefe de jefes which allows you to pick your choice of omelette and chilaquiles: I got the omelette perron y chilaquiles de mole... SO DELICIOUS. We also got the desayuno el patron with the red chilaquiles and the Nutella French toast. Also very delicious. The service was great! The waitress was so attentive and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is super cute and Mexican themed! Loved it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will for sure be coming back (the menu is so large) and recommending the place to friends and family!

Amazing food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute place and nice ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My kids loved it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food came out super fast!

Machaca and Eggs

My husband and I were excited to finally try this place! The photos I see of the food always look so yummy, and it definitely lived dip to the hype! At first I was worried they were cash only, but they do accept card payments. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is limited seating but the dining area is super cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the machaca and eggs, while my husband ordered a burrito (can't remember which one). Our food was so tasty and flavorful and beautifully plated! My favorite on my plate were the potatoes; they were seasoned so well and were perfect! English speaking is a little bit limited, but absolutely well enough to order and enjoy your time if you do not speak Spanish. I am excited to continue to try out new dishes here!

El Primo Omelette with Birria, beans & Roasted Rosemary Potatoes, ON POINT!
Andy M.

This Cafe has now become my favorite Cafe in the SouthBay. Been to many but this one is the complete package, the food, drinks, vibe & customer service is on point. Me & my daughter Andia love coming here for breakfast. It is small but very cute inside & they do move fast, great for a date or a family of 4-6, try to come before 11am on weekends it could get busy. What I love about this place is how all different people come here, tho it's based on Mexican food you'll see young & older white, Black & Asian people here. Last time I went 3 young black men next to us we're eating Birria omelettes with beans & a Mango drink, they were eating more Mexican than me & I loved that! Everything we've eaten here has been great, portions are a perfect size for a good quick breakfast or lunch. They have one of the better beans I've had, it has a chorizo flavor to it & they have the best rosemary potatoes & French Toast I've ever had. Love their omelettes my favorite is the Paisa Omelette. My other favorite item is the Molletes De Frijole y Queso, it's torta bread with spread beans & cheese & salsa, just like mom made growing up, delicious. We also love the presentation of the food, you can tell the cooks take pride in cooking their food. And their drinks are amazing, from Cafe De La Jolla & Agaus like the Guva agua which was amazing & me & my daughter's favorite the Chocolate Banana milk shake, my Andia said it taste exactly like the one I use to make her when she was little, honestly I think this one is better. Overall this cafe is an easy 5 star experience for me, it's me & my daughter's go to place for a good breakfast & some bonding. We can't wait to go back, keep up the great work Dolche & see you soon :)

Chilaquiles with green and mole salsas added chicken. Anti-inflammatory juice on the side
Marissa T.

5 whole stars at a two dollar sign price! Found the place on Yelp with the hopes of a healthy yet filling breakfast. Dolche came through and then some. I had the chilaquiles with mole and green salsas with added chicken. Paired it with the "anti-inflammatory" juice drink. Flavors are bold and in beautiful harmony. They don't skimp on the seasonings, herbs, or time spent. The execution of each part of the dish was treated with attention to detail that is palate pleasing. The rosemary potatoes are moist yet crispy and rolled in fresh rosemary and parsley. The gentleman at the door greeted me and his service was kind with the right degree of presence. Dolce is killing it and you deserve to have a bite

Sarahi M.

honestly obsessed. The food was so good and everything looked incredibly aesthetically pleasing -- like every plate looked picture-perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole restaurant has the cutest girly vibe too. The decor is super pretty, colorful, and such a fun place to take photos or go out with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's one of those spots where the atmosphere makes the experience even better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend if you want delicious Mexican food and a cute place to eat. I'll 100% be going back! Also the service was fast and attentive.

Aquas Frescas, cucumber chia lemonade
Ariana S.

Very small restaurant, but not too busy on a Friday morning. Can't imagine how it gets on the weekends. But food and service were great!! Except for the girl not bringing my friend the coffee that he ordered. But I understand they were short staffed. They were very friendly and the food and drinks were good, therefore it wasn't a biggie. She was taking care of all the tables and you can tell she really did try to stay on top of everything. My cucumber chia lemonade was delicious, my kids really enjoyed their food as well. Definitely will be back when I'm in town again.

Mel P.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very good food and the coffee was tasty also. A very nice variety of dishes that are plated artistically. Service was good also.

Chilaquile
Stephanie A.

I'm sorry I really wanted to love this place I saw such great reviews but I was very disappointed with the food, it was very bland and the flavor was not there, the beans hard it just did not meet my expectations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The server was nice and the decor was good if you want some pictures[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but the food was just not there for me the price was pretty standard. I don't want to say don't try it definitely at your own taste but it was just not worth it for me.

Huevos Rancheros with added Brirra meat! Sooo good
Amy E.

Hidden little gem in Chula Vista! Went here for breakfast one morning and was wow away by their amazing breakfast selections and coffee. Their food was flavorful and authentic. The coffee selection was huge and what we ordered was soo perfectly made. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy colorful vibe inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will for sure be back in the future if Im ever in town again! Try their taro coconut latte it is sooo good!!

They've recently added matcha and café lattes to their menu! My party thought the Mazapan Latté was…read morethe stand out, but the Horchata Latté and Caramel Latté were very disappointing. The Horchata Latté tasted like semi-sweet milk and the Caramel Latté was just okay, I would appreciate a more coffee-forward drink but I'm unsure if they use espresso in their drinks (or maybe they're single shots?). I had high hopes for these drinks since they are new additions (I thought maybe this restaurant stepped up their coffee game) but I would have preferred sticking with their Mexican Mocha, which although is still not very coffee forward is nonetheless a delicious drink. The pictures I've included show some of my favorite meals here. The Poblano Chilaquilles are a 10/10 and a staple for whenever I visit with family or friends. It's very savory and goes perfectly with over-medium eggs. If you prefer spicier Chilaquilles, this is not for you (these are savory without a hint of spice!). The Cali Omelette is all you could want from an omelette and HUGE! Unfortunately the sourdough bread was stale this visit. Potatoes are seasoned well and complements the meal. The Dulce De Leche French Toast is perfect for sharing and for those with a sweet tooth. It was the perfect finish to my party's meal. The Farmers Table gets a 10/10 for ambiance, but the service has generally been lacking for the 5-8 visits I've made. I feel as if the servers are not very attentive and I find myself waiting for the check or even to be checked on to see if my experience is going well. I actually would have loved to comment on the lattes I ordered (which again, were disappointing). The food is always great though, and despite the lacking service (which I've observed is likely due to the large amount of guests vs the couple of servers on duty attending to everyone), I always find myself coming back for more! Essentially, PLEASE order the Poblano Chilaquilles and PLEASE get your coffee elsewhere! I think a revamp on the coffee is much needed (much rather get my coffee and breakfast fix together!).

More than half of the parking structure was being hosed off during peak business hours and parking was hell. After about 20 minutes of waiting to find parking I get in there and we get seated quickly. Everything is beautiful in here, I love that it's very open and colorful and peaceful environment. Good vibes. Shortly after we are seated we are giving some water that was room temperature with no ice. That's fine no big deal I'm here to eat not drink water. I checked out there juices and decided to order a pineapple juice. I was brought out a warm pineapple juice. I've never have had a warm pineapple juice today in my life and I never do that was even a thing. And for my server to look at me like I was crazy when I asked for ice for my pineapple juice was kind of odd. Anyways I ordered chicken waffles with a medium egg. I immediately asked for extra syrup because I know myself. My friend ordered the salmon. After we ordered we were not acknowledged again. We probably received our food 15ish minutes after we ordered and I immediately took pictures. Everything looks so good. I immediately noticed that there is a medium egg on top of my chicken that's on top of my waffle. I've never had medium eggs with mixed with fried chicken before so that was a big turn off for me seeing that on top. That's okay I'm easy I just moved it to the side and ate it. My waffle was kind of warm my egg was about room temperature and the chicken was overcooked. I got less than a quarter of syrup in a little container when I specifically asked for extra. All of this has potential to be great it just needs more seasoning. There was no salt pepper or other seasonings offered at all and when I asked for more syrup I got a half a cup of syrup filled. So once I reached out to our server again and I still didn't get what I needed I just stopped asking as I felt like a burden like I wasn't important. And then we waited an extra 10-15 minutes for the check after we were clearly done with our food. I brought some my stuff and took it home and I made it amazing. With a lot more seasoning on their chicken and some 2 dashes of hot sauce, warmed up in the air fryer and man it was great. I wish my experience was better but it seems like other people have the same experiences me.

I'm a huge fan of trying new pancakes and Family House delivered. The pancakes are fluffy, and the sizes are perfect. My pancakes came with my country scramble which was equally delicious. People aren't paying their money to play guessing games with their food or deal with constant mistakes.
