Me & my boyfriend had been trying 4+ star review places around San Diego/ Chula Vista and were let down by every single spot except this one! Great portions for great prices & AMAZING flavor. 10/10! I wish their sitting area was a bit bigger because it was a bit of a wait but definitely worth the wait. The customer service was great as well the woman who helped us was so sweet! :)
Went in to have breakfast as this place was recommended by some friends . It did not disappoint. The mazapán latte was delicious, the waffle with Nutella was sweet . Our server Dulce was super sweet and made sure everything was okay with our food . Differently going back to try the lunch menu . Oh super cute wall decor of Frida and neon lights
This place is so nice I stopped by for breakfast with my sister and we really enjoyed it , I got the protein chilaquiles they were delicious and a very big serving I had to take it home. Definitely coming back another time
We tried coming here a few months ago but they were closing up. Finally had a chance to re-try this little gem. Based off old Yelp pics, it looks like the business revamped their menu + interior. The aesthetics of this little cafe is so cute + social media worthy! From the interior, to the food/drink presentation, & everything in between. They have a small shared parking lot with other businesses. We got lucky as some patrons were leaving. When we walked in we were immediately seated. There is limited tables so I can see it getting busy. When we went, it was a full house. But one thing I must say - they are QUICK without us feeling rushed! We ordered a horchata, soda, birria fries, & the el mamado omelette. The food came out in what felt like less than 5mins!! I ordered the omelette with refried beans, rosemary potatoes, & tortillas. My omelette was perfect! Could've been a little hotter, but no complaints. I loved the taste & texture, everything paired well. My husband ordered the birria fries. The birria was so tender & the flavors were there! We asked for additional hot sauce - their salsas were not spicy enough for us. But as you read my other reviews, we have a MAJOR tolerance for spice. So what's not spicy for us can be spicy for others. Our total was $51 which was deff reasonable for everything we got. Definitely a cute hidden gem to try if you're in the area! Glad I was finally able to check this spot off my list.
Shout out to our server Luis! He was amazing. Knew what to recommend and checked in us often. Food was excellent. Bae is still talking about the chilaquiles. The best Au for me to describe these are deliciously sauced and topped wet nachos. Great hangover food. I get the eggs on the side. Quaint restaurant with a small parking lot. We arrived just ahead of a rush. All tables were filled. Hidden gem. If you find yourself in Chula Vista don't sleep on this place! Oh, peep the photo. Cookies served with the coffee. Nice touch!

No se como estén los otros platillos pero las enchiladas suizas estaban desabridas, solo con ver el color y la consistencia de la salsa supe que no iban estar buenas, el arroz que le acompañaba tampoco tenía sabor y había granos que estaban duros (tal vez viejos). La torta de lomo también nos decepcionó. Eran dos trozo de carne gruesos y tampoco tenían sabor. Si van, mejor ordenen el desayuno porque a las personas que estaban a un lado dijeron que estaba sabroso, era comida dulce pero no vi exactamente que era. I can't speak for the other dishes, but the enchiladas suizas were bland. Just by looking at the color and consistency of the sauce, I knew they wouldn't be good. The accompanying rice was also flavorless, and some of the grains were hard (perhaps stale). The torta de lomo was also a disappointment. It consisted of two thick slices of meat that, likewise, lacked any flavor. If you do go, you're better off ordering breakfast, the people sitting next to us said theirs was delicious, it was a sweet dish, though I didn't see exactly what it was.
Wow super recomendado/ recommended. This place was delicious. I have no complaints except for the weird tasting tap water but they have SO MANY other drinks options. The caffe de olla 10/10 it was also served with cookies on the side!!! Yummy. For food, we got the desayuno jefe de jefes which allows you to pick your choice of omelette and chilaquiles: I got the omelette perron y chilaquiles de mole... SO DELICIOUS. We also got the desayuno el patron with the red chilaquiles and the Nutella French toast. Also very delicious. The service was great! The waitress was so attentive and friendly. The place itself is super cute and Mexican themed! Loved it. We will for sure be coming back (the menu is so large) and recommending the place to friends and family!
My husband and I were excited to finally try this place! The photos I see of the food always look so yummy, and it definitely lived dip to the hype! At first I was worried they were cash only, but they do accept card payments. There is limited seating but the dining area is super cute! I ordered the machaca and eggs, while my husband ordered a burrito (can't remember which one). Our food was so tasty and flavorful and beautifully plated! My favorite on my plate were the potatoes; they were seasoned so well and were perfect! English speaking is a little bit limited, but absolutely well enough to order and enjoy your time if you do not speak Spanish. I am excited to continue to try out new dishes here!

This Cafe has now become my favorite Cafe in the SouthBay. Been to many but this one is the complete package, the food, drinks, vibe & customer service is on point. Me & my daughter Andia love coming here for breakfast. It is small but very cute inside & they do move fast, great for a date or a family of 4-6, try to come before 11am on weekends it could get busy. What I love about this place is how all different people come here, tho it's based on Mexican food you'll see young & older white, Black & Asian people here. Last time I went 3 young black men next to us we're eating Birria omelettes with beans & a Mango drink, they were eating more Mexican than me & I loved that! Everything we've eaten here has been great, portions are a perfect size for a good quick breakfast or lunch. They have one of the better beans I've had, it has a chorizo flavor to it & they have the best rosemary potatoes & French Toast I've ever had. Love their omelettes my favorite is the Paisa Omelette. My other favorite item is the Molletes De Frijole y Queso, it's torta bread with spread beans & cheese & salsa, just like mom made growing up, delicious. We also love the presentation of the food, you can tell the cooks take pride in cooking their food. And their drinks are amazing, from Cafe De La Jolla & Agaus like the Guva agua which was amazing & me & my daughter's favorite the Chocolate Banana milk shake, my Andia said it taste exactly like the one I use to make her when she was little, honestly I think this one is better. Overall this cafe is an easy 5 star experience for me, it's me & my daughter's go to place for a good breakfast & some bonding. We can't wait to go back, keep up the great work Dolche & see you soon :)
5 whole stars at a two dollar sign price! Found the place on Yelp with the hopes of a healthy yet filling breakfast. Dolche came through and then some. I had the chilaquiles with mole and green salsas with added chicken. Paired it with the "anti-inflammatory" juice drink. Flavors are bold and in beautiful harmony. They don't skimp on the seasonings, herbs, or time spent. The execution of each part of the dish was treated with attention to detail that is palate pleasing. The rosemary potatoes are moist yet crispy and rolled in fresh rosemary and parsley. The gentleman at the door greeted me and his service was kind with the right degree of presence. Dolce is killing it and you deserve to have a bite
honestly obsessed. The food was so good and everything looked incredibly aesthetically pleasing -- like every plate looked picture-perfect. The whole restaurant has the cutest girly vibe too. The decor is super pretty, colorful, and such a fun place to take photos or go out with friends. It's one of those spots where the atmosphere makes the experience even better. Definitely recommend if you want delicious Mexican food and a cute place to eat. I'll 100% be going back! Also the service was fast and attentive.
Very small restaurant, but not too busy on a Friday morning. Can't imagine how it gets on the weekends. But food and service were great!! Except for the girl not bringing my friend the coffee that he ordered. But I understand they were short staffed. They were very friendly and the food and drinks were good, therefore it wasn't a biggie. She was taking care of all the tables and you can tell she really did try to stay on top of everything. My cucumber chia lemonade was delicious, my kids really enjoyed their food as well. Definitely will be back when I'm in town again.

Our family wanted try a new spot in our community, yelped this place and figured let's drive out. Well it didn't disappoint. On the outside you may miss it. Inside was very cute with decor very vibrant. We had the combo plate; Birria omelet, chilaquiles, potato, with refried beans and a side French toast. My husband got the chilaquiles, corn tamale, refried beans, eggs. My son had the carne asada plate, daughter had chilaquiles plate and my 7yr old had the kids breakfast. We all enjoyed our beverages; maya Chai, Hibiscus Aqua Fresca, tropical , and OJ. We were all extremely pleased with the flavor, quality, and quantity. The order to table was timely and the waiter was attentive and accommodating and patient (I switched up my order 3x.. I had a hard time choosing) We definitely will put this on our rotating breakfast spot to enjoy after a nice Sunday Service. read more

I'm sorry I really wanted to love this place I saw such great reviews but I was very disappointed with the food, it was very bland and the flavor was not there, the beans hard it just did not meet my expectations. The server was nice and the decor was good if you want some pictures but the food was just not there for me the price was pretty standard. I don't want to say don't try it definitely at your own taste but it was just not worth it for me. read more

Hidden little gem in Chula Vista! Went here for breakfast one morning and was wow away by their amazing breakfast selections and coffee. Their food was flavorful and authentic. The coffee selection was huge and what we ordered was soo perfectly made. Cozy colorful vibe inside. I will for sure be back in the future if Im ever in town again! Such a cute hole in the wall place. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe only 7-8 tables available. We went on a Sunday around 12:30pm, wasn't busy at all. We got welcomed and seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was also very good and the cafe de olla was super delicious! Can't wait to come back again soon. read more

I was in need of a coffee for me and a snack for my little; when I saw cafe in the name of this establishment I wrongfully assumed that this was just a little local coffee spot. Guys, this place is a straight up treasure. Maybe it was the time of day, but it was fairly quiet and unassuming. Walking into the cafe transports you; you can tell a lot of effort and consideration was made in curating a beautiful and unique environment. Their menu was enormous; I wish we had been hungrier. We ordered a large iced coffee and a conchita; they only had jumbo sized coffee, peculiarly, so I upsized to one of those because the need for caffeine is real -- -- I don't know what kind of magic their barista did but my iced coffee was amazing. I was super impressed. My little one inhaled his pan dulce too; while a little crumbly on top (as it should be), the bread was sweet, soft, and tasted fresh. We will be back, with more of us, when we are hungrier. read more

A little hole in the wall, hidden from the main street. We found this hidden little place that was cute and pretty good. Food was good and excellent service excellent. If you want some Mexican style with some stylish flair, this is a place to come. The menu had has authentic style Mexican favorites such as Café dela Hoya & huevos rancheros to French style crepes. Such a great breakfast/lunch cafe ! If you are looking for Mexican food, they got you. If you want traditional American breakfast they also got you. They also have So many different coffees, lattes and teas to choose from. I got the choritorta and my man got the chipotle chilaquiles. Our drinks, cafe de olla and ferrer rocher, hit the spot too. If you are looking for a neighborhood cafe, yummy food and coffee, definitely stop here. read more

Dolche Cafe is really cute inside! They are located in Solana Beach, so I'm not sure if they changed locations since my visit. There are a lot of options on their menu, so I had a little trouble narrowing it down LOL. After the cashier's recommendations, I ended up getting the Lomo torta, a strawberry tea refresher with boba, and the blue machine spirulina toast. Everything came out so beautifully presented! My refresher came out in a mason jar with sliced strawberries and white and black colored bobas. It was refreshing, but not sweet enough for me haha. The toast was pretty with the spirulina spread and bananas, kiwi, blueberries, and kiwi! I also enjoyed the torta! It was served with seasoned fries that were nice and crispy. The torta was huge and came with pork tenderloin, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, red onions, and avocado on a toasted telera bread with chipotle aioli. It was so flavorful and tasty! read more

A quaint little cafe has popped up in Solana Beach just down the street from a couple of well-known Mexican eateries. The gray exterior of the building (part of John's Market) was adorned with some cute wall art. The inside setup was a large dining room with a succulent plant at each table and enough capacity for about 40 diners. I was probably one of their first customers during a weekend lunch hour as the place was empty when I arrived. A server handed me a four page menu with an extensive list of food and drink offerings. It would be fair to say that more than half of the food items were breakfast oriented. The remaining portion was dedicated to sandwiches, tortas, fries, and enchiladas if you wanted lunch fare. For a drink, I chose a jamaica aguas frescas that was served in a large 32 oz mason jar. The hibiscus flavor was less sweet than in other restaurants where I've ordered this flowery fresh water. I should have gone with my initial gut feeling which was the strawberry flavor. The Huevos Con Chorizo was what I selected for my meal. The plate consisted of scrambled eggs with minced pork sausage, refried beans, rosemary potatoes, salsa, and corn tortillas. The fresh tortillas made a difference. Because they were warm and soft, that made them easy to nosh on when I filled each tortilla with some eggs, sausage, and beans. I did notice their business address has recently changed. Does this mean they have moved to Chula Vista, or is it a second location? If they have permanently relocated, then that is a shame because what made this cafe stand out was its rustic charm that won't be replicated on a highly commercialized block in the South Bay area. read more

I usually go there for just their horchata matcha when I'm in town. Been here about five times now it's a must for very trip But my family and I tried their food for the first time and it did not disappoint. The chilaquiles mixtas was enough for about three people and were amazing. The service I always received is also very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go again next week. read more

On the former premises of the much-missed dive fave Don Chuy's, Dolche Café offers a new brunch spot in the area once semi-affectionately known as the barrio of Solano Beach. The space is light and airy, with whimsical murals both inside and out. Dolche styles itself as Latin Fussion (sic) and the menu seems to fit the bill: there are Latino, "American" and Southern Californian items on a substantive, yet fairly disciplined menu. In addition to Mexican fare, there are hints of South American touches and one of the owners informed me that there were plans to offer more. My wife ordered the Dolce Simple Breakfast (2 eggs any style, hash browns, choice of breakfast meat and toast). She opted to have the eggs sunny-side up, which looked perfectly cooked; and the sugar spiced bacon, which had a sweet, chili flavor to them. The latter was absolutely delicious! I opted for the churro French toast. The portion was substantial, with a brioche-style bread. While it was very tasty, I did have a couple of nits: first, it was supposed to be topped with strawberries, bananas and blueberries--it was missing the last. Second, they also topped it with whipped cream, which is fine given the dish, but it was clearly out of a spray can. But overall, the meal was very good and the staff excellent. It's precisely the sort of neighborhood cafe we all wish was just around the corner from us. Go! read more

What a cute café! Dolche Café is truly a hidden gem! (And I don't use that term often.) The food is delicious and flavorful and the service is great! The inside is cutely decorated with green decor and inspirational quotes. My man and I both had the carne asada and eggs. Beware of the jalapeño-- it packs a punch but it paired well with the food. We also ordered the strawberry water (very worth it) and regular coffee that came with cute animal crackers and was served on a board. Dolche Café is attached to John's Market so you can explore there or pick up items on your way out. read more
