Outstanding restaurant! As you walk in, it feels very airy and inviting due to a thigh ceiling, light woods, and lots of live plants all around. The service was kind, prompt, and very accommodating to questions and alterations. The food was fantastic - the mussels toast was loaded with mussels, the creamy cheese app was delicious, pizzas were raved about, my favorites were the delicate pastas with rich sauces, and of course the whole sea bass was a star. Drinks were a hit as well. This is a perfect spot!
Really good pizza and small plates and the ambiance is nice. I really appreciated how they paced the food so my party had the time to enjoy everything and not be rushed. The snap pea salad changed my life!
Had a great time at Gufo - such interesting and fresh flavors from the dishes. The arancini and the snow crab pasta were absolutely outstanding. The restaurant itself was super cute, and we were able to get seated quickly. Dishes were a bit pricey for the amount of food we got, but overall the food was delicious and had a great atmosphere
I held this year's birthday dinner here. I had a good impression of Coda Restaurant Group before, and this place did not disappoint. Prosciutto: The best dish of the meal. The prosciutto slices were perfectly salty, rich in fat, and smooth, wrapped around the refreshing sweetness of kumquats, the delicate creaminess of stracciatella cheese, the crunch and nutty aroma of pistachios, and topped with a smoky touch of sumac powder. It had a rich and distinct flavor profile while offering a gentle and comfortable taste. Spaghetti: The refreshing lemon and basil paired with the umami crab meat is a classic combination. Chili oil added a touch of spice and aroma, while pea tendrils provided a light herbal fragrance. The sauce was emulsified very smoothly, making it both rich and palatable, although the spaghetti itself didn't leave a particularly strong impression. Half Chicken Milanese: A large portion, perfect as a main course to share. The chicken cutlet was thick, fried to a fragrant perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Wrapped in lettuce and eaten with mayonnaise, it brought back memories of the fast food stalls outside my school when I was a child. This was my first time trying rhubarb stems. The tangy and refreshing taste cut through the richness, and the texture was like softer celery and firmer green bell peppers - quite interesting. Duck Bacon Pizza: The most highly rated pizza online, and it was truly delicious! The rich, savory flavor of the duck bacon, the succulent richness of the shimeji mushrooms, and the mellow sweetness of the caramelized onions, combined with the creamy cheese base, made it a calorie bomb, but I still felt it was the right choice. Unfortunately, the crust was a bit hard, making it difficult to cut with a knife. Cotechino Pizza: This was my first time trying a pizza with sweet potatoes, and I couldn't help but admire their innovation. The colors were vibrant, and the sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired with the smoky aroma of Cotechino sausage bits created a full yet harmonious flavor, evoking the feeling of being in the southern Italian countryside in early autumn, basking in the bright sunshine and the satisfaction of a bountiful harvest. The restaurant offered menus printed with "Happy Birthday," and the waiters provided professional cake-cutting service. Overall, a very comfortable experience.
A while back, I had seen a photo on social media of the "snacks" tray offered at Gufo and I couldn't get it out of my head - it's about six little dishes of various offerings, like smoked almonds, wonderfully citrus-y bright green olives, anchovies in olive oil and chili dust, radishes over sheep's milk butter, a wedge of cheese in fig jam, and eggplant caponata in whipped ricotta, with a side of focaccia. All this for $30! If you and your friends are in more of a nibbling mood, this is a fine option. Other great things we ordered: 1. Half chicken Milanese - I loved the layer of greens and creme on top, makes for a beautiful presentation. That said, this dish is best eaten right there at the table when it's hot and crispy. I had some for leftovers the day after and the texture definitely wilted. 2. Duck bacon pizza - can't go wrong with duck bacon but it's pretty rich and indulgent and, while I love pizza, one slice of this was enough. Next time, I'd try the pepperoni and vodka pie, which our waitress was super enthusiastic about. 3. Swiss chard Caesar salad - love that they add fish roe on top for an unexpected burst of flavor and saltiness. 4. Rigatoni - sauce had a lot of depth to it but very, very salty. 5. Cacio e pepe arancini - we ate this so quickly that I didn't have time to snap a photo. Dessert was soft serve, they're very generous with the portion. The layout of the restaurant is a little funny - when you come in, the host stand is in an empty space with the pizza oven right behind it, and then you walk a little further back into the actual bar/restaurant area. It's a pretty casual sit-down place, with both families and office dinners happening. Lots of street parking outside.
Had a great experience at Gufo! The ambiance is nice here. It's cozy, the bar area is such a vibe, and the lighting is just right. Not too bright, but also not too dim where you can't see what's going on. The tables are a little close together (especially if you have a winter jacket you're dealing with) but we made it work. I got the garden party mocktail and the rigatoni bolognese and I'm very happy with my order! The next time I come back, I'll probably reorder this again. My friend got the vodka pepperoni pizza which is clearly the crowd favorite. Looking around, you could see a lot of tables had ordered this. She asked for it to be well-done so it came out dark and cooked a little longer than usual (the dough of the pizza on the table to our left was much lighter and less cooked through). I tried a bite but I thought it wasn't juicy enough. The pizza was good, but nothing to write home about. That's probably because she ordered it well-done so I definitely want to try it again, ordered as is. For dessert we tried the olive oil cake and it was interesting. Not to sound crazy, but we both tried a bite of the cake with the whipped cream and peaches that come on the side. As one big bite it literally tasted like bruschetta. Not in a good way either. It was wild haha. We tried a second bite without going for the whipped cream and peaches and it was much better but still not my cup of tea. A great experience all around but was an interesting palette!
We loved the contemporary feel of the restaurant. It was romantic, but also trendy. You can go dressed up or dressed down. Great for girls night dinner! Although we had a wait for our table, despite making reservations, the staff was extremely hospitable and provided us with snacks complementary! And also gave us the cutest complimentary ice cream platter for my birthday! As for the food, everything was amazing! The eggplant caponata was the best of the snacks! The carbonara was a hit, with a few girls saying it was better than the carbonara in Italy! The bolognese also was really delicious and full of flavor without being too salty. Chicken Milanese was super juicy and yet crispy on the outside. We also loved the broccolini and octopus, although portions were kind of small. We also got a pizza which was really good even though it didn't quite pass the fold test. We also liked that you can order a side of dipping sauce like hot honey! Meatballs, arancini, and squid ink pasta were also pretty good. Definitely recommend!
Came for shared dinner and drinks and really enjoyed our time. Vibe: Upscale decor and furnishings with warm and comfortable atmosphere. Service: Server was patient with us waiting for our full party to arrive and us taking time to figure out what to order. Food came out at different times, which was okay as there wasn't a ton of table space for all that we ordered. Drinks: I got the prickly pear gimlet which was delicious but also very tiny. Food: Most of what we got was delicious and interesting. We got 2 'snacks' and 5 dishes for 4 people as well a one desert we all shared and it was plenty of food. We started with the robiola bosina cheese w/ preserved fig honey - tasty but not a stand out and the eggplant caponata, which was standout delicious, highly recommend. This came with very good quality bread but we had to ask for more as the cheese/eggplant to bread ratio was off. Loved: Bucatini verde - absolutely delicious, HIGHLY recommend Octopus - deliciously deep grilled flavor with tasty broth, also highly recommend Liked: Charred sweet potato - very good Eh: Snap pea caesar - could have used more dressing, the radishes were good but mostly just tasted like eating straight snap peas Cotechino pizza - way too much crust to toppings ratio and the sweet potato overpowered the other flavors making it super sweet For desert we got a "cheesecake," interesting but didn't love Value: For all of the above plus 3 drinks came out to a little over ~$200, split four ways about ~$50 per person. A bit pricey but we left full and with a little pizza leftover and some of the dishes were excellent. Overall really enjoyed eating here and would return.
Another wonderful dinner at Gufo - service was top notch, timely and never rushed, and the food was delicious. The spring-y version of gnocchi with clams, guanciale, herbs, lemon cream and breadcrumbs was a touch salty, but in a good way. Gnocchi was so pillowy and served nice and hot. Snap pea caesar had a really good dressing, but wish there was a bit more veggie dimension than just the snap peas and radish. The star of the meal was actually the soft serve, which was a generous creamy twist of basil and orange with brown butter breadcrumbs. Will definitely be back.
Italian restaurant that has different sauces for your pizza crust.... YUP. Gufo is incredible - cocktails are yummy, service is fast and efficient. The perfect date night spot
10/10 meal! Excellent service, beautiful and cozy interior, and great food. My favorite of the night has to be the mussel toast, followed by the rigatoni pasta and duck bacon pizza. We also got the sweet potato and prosciutto which were yummy, but I'd skip in favor of trying new things next time. Drinks were also very solid.
I visited gufo for dinner with friends and was left a bit disappointed. I believe our server was possibly new because she seemed a bit frazzled and was not very attentive and didn't really check on us. Overall, the food was also just ok. I enjoyed snap pea caesar salad but it could've used for dressing for sure. The pizzas were just fine, nothing very impressive that I would return for. The vodka pepperoni pizza was very greasy and I tasted no vodka sauce at all, it was basically regular pepperoni pizza. The Swiss chard pizza also tasted nothing like I would expect, but a simply white pizza with some balsamic. I didn't get any flavor of chili oil or lemon that it had in the description. Maybe the pasta plates are better but we did not have any.
Cool decor, especially the bar with the plants! You can see inside the kitchen and watch pizza prep in front. We had to wait a bit to be seated despite having a reservation and it was a tad noisy - but our margherita pizza was SO good! Wish we lived a bit closer - recommend! I was a bit confused which room to reserve when we booked - this is the main dining room.

Found this place on Yelp and it did not disappoint! Snap pea Caesar - never had a Caesar salad with snap peas so it was unique. I loved the added crunch from the snap peas. Some pieces of the snap peas were a little dry though. Roasted mushroom, gremolata, Meyer lemon, fontina - this pizza is on my list of top favorite pizzas. I loved the mushroom, fontina, and Meyer lemon combination of flavors. The crust was super crispy. The pizza flopped a little when it was hot but once it cooled down, it held its shape. read more
Had a wonderful brunch experience here on a Saturday! I was the first in my party to arrive and they seated me without having to wait which was nice. The dining room decor is super cute (think: comfy, cushioned chairs, cute leafy accents, and lots of natural lighting), and the brunch options are unique and delicious. I got the oyster mushrooms and egg dish, which was flavorful and filling. The portion size was perfect and the price was reasonable ($18). I also got a matcha tea ($5), which my server helped me request instead of the matcha latte. One point to note was that there were several different servers and bussers attending to our table the whole time, which was confusing since they would sometimes ask to take our order or clear our table after someone else already did. Overall, they were very attentive though, which was nice. I would definitely come back again to try some more of their menu options! read more

Been wanting to try this spot and finally got to! Just wanted some yummy bites for brunch so we ordered the caramel apple fried dough & the breakfast pizza. Both were mouth wateringly delicious. I got an iced chai as well which was flavored perfectly. I love the vibe of the restaurant- cozy, modern, can dress cute or be casual. I'd deff want to go back and sit at the bar, and try their dinner menu! Service was good too. read more

Came here a few weeks ago for dinner. The vibe was intimate, modern, casual and the service was good. We enjoyed the eggplant caponata, mushroom pizza, and rigatoni bolognese dishes. We had the pizza served with a hot spicy oil which was delicious and the rigatoni was unique in that it wasn't too tomato forward. Would likely come back! read more
First things first, the service was incredible. When we walked in we were promptly greeted so kindly and it just sets the tone of the entire night. Our waitress also was beyond kind and she even comped the birthday dessert I ordered which was so unnecessary but so so appreciated. The inside was super cute and fun of plants. I loved the Cacio e pepe arancini. The focaccia they bring out was amazing dipped in that sauce. The Vodka pepperoni pizza was amazing and probs some of the best pizza I have had in Boston, I just wish there were more olives on it! The Carbonara was super lemony and not as heavy as a traditional carbonara so that was nice. Defiantly didn't remind me of carbonara but I loved it anyway. The Cherry chocolate tarte was to perfection as well read more

Tried Gufo for the first time and ordered some cheese and pepperoni pizzas for take out. The pizza was amazing! Very fresh ingredients, and good crisp to the pizza. The flavor on the pepperoni pizza blew me away. Would definitely recommend! read more
My friends and I decided to give Gufo a try for brunch, and HONESTLY, I'm so impressed! I'm not really a huge pizza or brunch person, but this place might have changed my mind. The ambiance is simply stunning, and the staff is incredibly sweet. My friend and I split the Fennel Sausage Pizza. I think hot sauce or hot honey would've really elevated the flavors, but it was still pretty good! If you're a thin-crust girly like myself, you'll appreciate Gufo's crispy pizza crust - they always pass that pizza flop test! Whenever I go to a brunch spot, I always make sure I try their eggs benedict (it's a rite of passage). The eggs benedict was cooked to perfection with a delightful runny yolk. I also appreciated the side of potatoes that accompanied the dish. It was crispy and well-seasoned. This is a MUST-TRY dish if you visit for brunch! For dessert, I had a dirty chai latte. Gufo doubles as a cafe, and they've perfected it. This was one of the best dirty chai's I've had in awhile. There was a perfect balance of cream, chai, and espresso. If you haven't tried their cafe yet, I highly recommend it. It's easily become one of my favorite cafes in the Cambridge/Somerville area. read more
This place is beautiful. I came here for a Saturday brunch. They have lots of drink options, tasty pizzas, and a few sandwiches. I want to go back and try more pizzas and maybe their dinner menu. The staff were really patient as we had to keep ordering more food and drinks as certain friends were late and still needed to order. They also let us bring in a cake for our friend's birthday! read more

I have made special trips from NYC to dine at Gufo, four times in the past six months to be specific. This place is unparalleled when it comes to fantastic Italian food and top tier service. I am obsessed with their mushroom, roasted garlic pizza, which comes out so crispy and airy and has a great balance of earthy flavors from the beech brown mushrooms and aromatic notes from the whole cloves of garlic and spring onions. Their squid ink bucatini was also a hit, so incredibly flavorful with generous portions of seafood, the sauce is made with pork butter, but can be made without pork, you will not find anything like this anywhere. Their vegetarian pasta -- spinach + ricotta rotolo, was delicious resembling a cast iron lasagna, and deceptively filling. Also highly recommend the shrimp, brussels, and charred mushroom plate, all are so flavorful and great/unique tapas shares that complement each other. Definitely recommend the apple or pear crostata and frozen yogurt for dessert. The servers ensure that you have a wonderful experience, they keep glasses filled and also had a lot of respect for the manager who runs food to tables and interacts with guests alongside his staff. This place gets packed on Friday and weekend nights for dinner service between 6 and 8:30, be sure to make a reservation ahead! Will definitely be back to try their brunch menu next. read more

Came to Gufo for brunch on a Saturday. There's a cafe-style seating area up front (for casual dining), and a more traditional dine-in area in the back. Food: We opted for the bread pudding french toast with currant jam, maple syrup, and sweet cream. This was AMAZING. The french toast was perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The flavor profile of bread pudding incorporated into french toast is such a unique concept, and we could come again just for this dish. Definitely a must-order if you come here. For the pizza, we ordered two flavors on each half (for no additional charge!). This was a great option since we had difficulty deciding which pizza to order. We had half a breakfast pizza and half of the roasted mushroom pizza. We also added fennel sausage to the whole pizza for an additional $3, which I would highly recommend as it gave more flavor and depth to the overall dish. Their pizza crust was light and crispy. There was no wait as we arrived close to opening, but it got busy quickly! So make sure to have reservations or come early. There's street parking nearby and service was great. read more

Lots of seating and they have cute outdoor area and a cafe portion too! Service is good, and they offer coffee, pizza, and pastas. I loved the squid ink bucatini and all of the pizzas. You can also get by the slice at the cafe. read more
One of the best meals i've had in a while. Even though there was one dish I think could have been better with a little spice or chili oil, the food was really delicios. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. With an egg allergy it can be very difficult to eat at an Italian restaurant but our server was incredibly attentive and helpful in curating a perfect night at Gufo. The mafaldine puttanesca is vegan and honestly out of this world. The flavors work so well together and the dish has a slight spice. In addition to the pasta we ordered the grilled mushrooms and the roasted mushroom pizza. Both were flavorful and delicious. The pizza could use a little spice to elevate the flavor but besides that exceptional. read more

Back again this weekend, this time for a birthday celebration. Gufo set up their outside patio for about 40 or 50 people. We started with drinks (wine, beer, etc.) and passed hors d'ouevres, including the most delicious meatballs imaginable. Shout-out to the bartender and staff for hooking me up with my favorite Brazilian drink, a caipirinha. After socializing for a bit we sat down to a menu of heirloom tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, chicken milanese, basil campanelle (crab, lemon, chili and pine nut), and squid ink creste di gallo (baby clams, spicy 'nduja butter, and lemon). Everything was delicious, although a little of the squid ink delicacy went a long way for this pallet. A dessert platter topped off the meal, with sea salt chocolate chip cookies, a cream-stuffed pastry and a cupcake-like icing pastry. Everything was beautifully arranged and the staff took such good care of us, inquiring about allergies before serving our delicious meal. Gufo once again rises to the occasion. read more
Had a nice experience here on a recent evening. Was able to make a reservation online, and even though I had picked the dining room, we were able to have a seat on the covered patio. the menu has multiple vegetarian options (always a perk). We ordered the Romanesco with romesco sauce as an appetizer - it was really flavorful and well cooked. I had the mafaldine pasta, which had a great tomato sauce but was a little on the salty side. Another friend had the spinach Rotolo, which she said it was delicious, but had a lot of cheese. The service did take a little bit of time at every step, from placing our initial orders to getting the final check. On the plus side, the food came out quickly. Great ambience - we would come back if in the area. read more
This place is super cute and the service here was great! I got a drink which was ok, I just thought it'd be fruitier. The cacio Pepe arancini were divine and I would definitely get them again. We also ordered the mafaldine pasta and cappellacci which were both so good. The capellacci was kind of sweet to me but I still enjoyed it. The margherita pizza was also great, no complaints. Overall it was an amazing dinner and I will definitely be returning! read more

When I heard about this place, I immediately wanted to try it! Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles and open arms. I quickly noticed the restaurant's beautiful design and the awesome wall paper (check out the bathrooms!). We were sat at lovely two seater. The server came quickly to offer us water and welcome us. They explained the different sections of the menu and seemed excited and happy to be here. Next, they gave us awesome tips about the drinks. And we were able to taste the wine before placing an order. We also had house focaccia. I ordered the half chicken, and my friend ordered the Mafaldine pasta. Both of our dishes were a bit too salty for our tastes. We shared a mushroom pizza and added pepperoni to my side; it was perfect! For desert we ordered the olive oil cake with peaches. And it was divine! Wish I could have had seconds. Overall, we really appreciated the great service and tasty food. I cannot wait to come back to try another pizza and the soft serve ice cream. Thank you for a memorable experience! read more

Wow! My husband and I were so impressed. I got the gem salad (hazelnut orange fennel blue cheese) and AMAZING kale pizza with provolone, garlic, lemon and balsamic drizzle for dinner. He enjoyed the meatballs and Rotolo with spinach ricotta and vodka sauce. I love that they have mocktails & non alcoholic beer and a nice ambiance with wood & plants everywhere. My husband also enjoyed the chocolate cake with hazelnut cream. I was happy to see they serve Mem tea and Broadsheet coffee too. Our server, Hannah was very understanding of my food allergies and knowledgeable about the menu, but double checked with the kitchen about how they could accommodate for me (ie: vegetarian sauce on pasta etc). They have a seasonal rotating menu of fresh pastas as well. The only thing I would note for next time is that there was no spacing at all between our first and second course so we wouldn't order everything all at once again. We will definitely be adding this to our Italian dinner rotation! read more

Incredible brunch place. I went the weekend it opened and wow was the experience good. Service was fast and full of great suggestions. Very modern and fresh ambiance. And the food was delicious. Very few places pull off breakfast pizza in my honest opinion but this place makes it a must get on the menu. Looking forward to coming back. read more

We came at 3 ish on a Sunday without reservation and were able to immediately sit at the bar. The dinner service hadn't started yet but we were able to order pizza and drinks. We ordered the dandelion greens pizza which was okay. The bartender was friendly and checked in on us. Inside has an earthy, fresh vibe with a terracotta theme at the bar, plenty of plants, and spacious interior. I'd definitely come back to try the pasta and other foods. There is even more seating not pictured near the entrance. From start to finish, everyone was kind - not just hospitable. read more

I liked SRV (sister restaurant) but Gufo was even better! The eggplant caponata was yum and a steal at $6. Can get free refill of focaccia. I had the rabbit gnocchi for my main: the rabbit was so tender and the gnocchi was perfectly chewy. I think this is not on the menu anymore but you probably can't go wrong with any of their pasta options. Even though I was hungry coming into the meal, the portions are big and I had to take some to go. Great service and very cute owl decor in the bathrooms :). read more

My cousin found this restaurant on TikTok. Usually social media can overhype a restaurant but we all agreed this was worth the hype. The aesthetic video matched the quality of the food. Gufo easily made it to our top brunches in the Cambridge area. Every dish we got were delicious. We have minor feedback for the drinks but had zero complaints about the food. Breakfast pizza 5/5: Hands down the best breakfast pizza ever. The toppings combination was unique and so tasty. I didn't realize how much I would love potatoes on pizza until I tried it here. The caramelized onions added some sweetness while it was balanced with the saltiness from the bacon. The pizza was light so it was easy to pulled from. The crust was crispy and not too charred. Still dreaming about this pizza and need to come back. Soft scrambled eggs with fried potatoes, bacon, and focaccia toast 4.5/5: All simple ingredients cooked separately but came together really well. There are various flavors and textures from the 4 items. My cousin loved the soft scrambled eggs and thought it was very well cooked. I loved the potatoes so much - soft and flavorful. Bread pudding french toast with currant jam, maple syrup, and sweet cream 5/5: This will satisfy your sweet tooth! This isn't just your normal french toast. It is a premium french toast with mixed textures from the currant jam. I also love the sweet cream that came with it. Drinks - I enjoyed my cappuccino very much and thought it went well with the french toast. My cousins did not enjoy their drinks as much. As shown in the photo, the size of the orange juice was tiny compared to the regular glass of water. At first I thought it was a shot of orange juice. The orange juice should have been in a regular sized glass. The matcha latte lacked the matcha flavor. Service was great! The waitress was nice and attentive and refilled our waters. Hostess was accommodating on the reservation time as well. There is street parking right outside. We got pretty lucky on a Saturday morning and only had to walk 2 mins. The interior was aesthetically pleasing with the plants and modern furnitures. read more

The food and vibes are solid at Gufo! Interiors are cozy and a lovely atmosphere for either a date or a meal with friends/family. The bucatini was cooked well, al denté. And the sauce was delicious. I was full but didn't want to stop eating it because of the sauce inside the bucatini, the texture and chew was satisfying. The pizza was good! But not yet great. The sauce and toppings were yummm but the crust/dough was just good, a little dense. The staff were friendly and attentive even when it got really busy. Looking forward to eating here again. read more
